Well we were TTC but now we've graduated to growing a small human. Good buy peeing on opk's and ic's every day hello monitoring exactly how sick and bloated we feel and ensuring that we're never more than 30ft from a bathroom!

It's the TTC#1 graduates thread! Come and join us on a no holds barred exploration of first time pregnancy (but be really careful about opening any links about cervical fluid unless you have a very strong constitution... Let's face it you're pregnant so you don't)

Lol sounds like you're on top of things.

I think my baby will be almost completely the opposite to yours lol. I know we can only have one so I'm going to let myself buy everything new (although not expensive), we've agree that we're going to bottle feed (not a popular choice but the one we're both comfortable with) and we do lots of festivals so definitely need a good pram. I'm going to use a Moses basket and then graduate to a cot and I want to use a baby carrier instead of a sling. There are just soooo many options for everything!!! Confused

The only thing I've actually bought already is a little stuffed toy that appears to be a cross between a hedgehog and a dinosaur. It made me laugh and I knew it was perfect Grin

Anyone else constantly got a dry throat and mouth? It's doing my head in Hmm

Very dry mouth and slightly sore throat, constantly thirsty!

I've promised oh that we won't go overboard on buying stuff we don't really need ( have a sneaky feeling I may lose control when it comes to cute clothes...) and I'm quite happy to eBay for a lot of stuff.

Have been researching early scans... £45 and I can have one from 7 weeks, so probably around a month earlier than my nhs one...has anyone else considered this?

shelbTa · 20/12/2015 08:47

Morning ladies.

I'm a worrier so don't think I'm going to buy anything until the 12 week scan. But going to be following your lead after that as have no idea what we will need!

Wow that's quite reasonable blue where did you find that? I am tempted, are you?

I've woken up with what feels like a stinking cold. Didn't feel pregnant at all so just done an ic - bunch totally get where you wee coming from having to do them every day in the beginning!

Xx

shelbTa · 20/12/2015 09:02

What are you ladies doing about caffeine? Totally cutting it out or one cup a day?

X

Runner05 · 20/12/2015 09:11

Blue I'd love to have an early scan but they cost between £85 and £120 in my area Angry if I could get one for £45 then I wouldn't hesitate. As it is I think I'll just have to wait until 12 weeks.

Glad it's not just me with the sore throat and coldiness.

Shelb I'm making a shopping list but I don't think I'm going to act on much of it until after the 12 week scan. I was just thinking that it might be a good idea to get some stuff in the January sales though.

I've switched to decaffe, I do have the occasional caffeinated soft drink but it's more of a treat now and then than a daily occurrence.

Off to watch StarWars again this morning. Taking the youngest dsc today. Not sure she'll make it lol

BlueGirl1982 · 20/12/2015 09:13

I don't really do caffeine anyway, it doesn't agree with me, so I'll be cutting it out altogether. Chatting with my hairdresser yesterday though and she revealed that with her second pregnancy she was completely relaxed and even had the odd glass of wine!

The scan is at a place near where I live, everywhere else I looked (national chain type places) it's £99...keeping my eyes peeled for a groupon deal!

shelbTa · 20/12/2015 09:19

Thanks ladies.

Another question! - when you rang to make your docs appointment, did you tell them in advance it was because you were Upduffed so they could arrange any blood tests etc? I have one booked in for weds for a repeat prescription, so was going to tell them then.

I don't know what I'd do without these threads!

Enjoy star wars runner!

Runner05 · 20/12/2015 09:44

Shelb I did tell them. There won't be any blood test, that will be done at the booking in appointment. The dr just likes to see you to check you're not freaking out I think. Wink

Just tried to put the kettle in the fridge... Could this be the start of baby brain Hmm

BlueGirl1982 · 20/12/2015 11:24

Ha ha runner...I found I'd put the squash in the fridge instead of the milk yesterday!

Runner05 · 20/12/2015 15:27

Is anyone else finding they're stupidly tired after doing anything at the moment. Just walked into town and couldn't keep up with OH and kids!

OP posts:
shelbTa · 20/12/2015 15:32

Fuck yes. I was going to go for a walk this afternoon but after an hours shopping I'm on the sofa. Tiredness is really kicking in. Also I got the shakes earlier, think my blood sugar dropped.

Runner05 · 20/12/2015 15:37

Oh no, I had that happen the other day when I was in a shop. Went straight home. Having a nap now to recover... Pathetic lol

BunchOfBobs · 20/12/2015 18:18

Hi ladies.
I've been busy working for a change. I haven't had dry mouth yet and don't think the tiredness has properly kicked in though I yawn A LOT! I also can get an early scan for £45 but I don't know when I'm home so can't book anything yet.

I already don't drink caffeine. It makes me feel hideous, I've been caffeine free (apart from chocolate) for 2 years 8 months. I am addicted to peppermint tea however!

I've been having a lot of AF cramps today. Really playing on my mind after all that has happened on the August thread. No bleeding though thankfully.

shelbTa · 20/12/2015 18:25

Oh no, what happened on the August thread? I'm not on that one.

Have you googled it? Sure it will be normal, try not to work bunch.

X

shelbTa · 20/12/2015 18:25

*try not to worry rather!

BunchOfBobs · 20/12/2015 18:39

Oh I'd love to try not to work haha! It's supposed to be normal but the August thread has had 5 miscarriages or so in less than that many days. It's so sad. They all had bleeding and painful cramps though. I'm just AFey. Tendons stretching and all but can't help but worry.

Runner05 · 20/12/2015 18:59

Hmm... Maybe not look at the August thread for a while? I know it's really sad but no point worrying yourself. That's why I haven't looked at it, don't need to be worrying that it could be me next :-(

OP posts:
shelbTa · 20/12/2015 19:06

Omg really? That's terrible. It is such early days still isn't it. I'm sure you'll be ok, just take it extra easy maybe?

X

shelbTa · 20/12/2015 19:09

My thirst is unquenchable.

X

BunchOfBobs · 20/12/2015 19:17

That's a very good point Runner. I've now unfollowed the thread. Everything I read is normal, periody like cramps are just tendons and uterus stretching. But when you read what happened over there it just gets in your head. Keep worrying about mmc too but I know it's just because I'm away from home, will be for Christmas and can't talk our load about my lil Pip to anyone. I'm internalising and going a bit mental it would seem. I also can't shit so that's not helping with my tummy feeling happier haha!

BunchOfBobs · 20/12/2015 19:17

*talk out loud

Runner05 · 20/12/2015 20:08

Lol... I hear you with the shit, rabbit droppings all the way at the moment. have you noticed how all of our conversations come back to bodily excretions?

I think unfollowing is for the best. I'm going to follow suit, not that I had looked in there much. It's hard enough to keep I top of this and the TTC thread Confused

You still have us to talk to though x

OP posts:
BlueGirl1982 · 20/12/2015 20:51

I'm stressing (and trying not to) about the cramps...just have no idea what's normal and what's not, have a feeling the next few weeks may drag a little Confused My oh keeps telling me not to worry, and I know he's right but it's so hard!

Keep trying to remind myself that there is nothing I can do either way. I was pregnant all of last week and didn't know, and all is fine so far! Bunch I really feel for you stuck on your own, but we're always here :-)

shelbTa · 20/12/2015 20:58

Where are your cramps blue? I have them too a little, above my public bone and across....

Try not to worry.
