Well we were TTC but now we've graduated to growing a small human. Good buy peeing on opk's and ic's every day hello monitoring exactly how sick and bloated we feel and ensuring that we're never more than 30ft from a bathroom!

It's the TTC#1 graduates thread! Come and join us on a no holds barred exploration of first time pregnancy (but be really careful about opening any links about cervical fluid unless you have a very strong constitution... Let's face it you're pregnant so you don't)

Leonie, our midwifes only do Wednesday mornings for booking appointments and antenatal too. Thursday's is a new baby clinic. It is a bit annoying!

Runner, your scan is the week before mine! So exciting. I will be 12+4 for mine.

Runner05 · 24/01/2016 15:57

Leonie I've lost 9lb in the first trimester so far... But I've gained two dress sizes and counting Shock can't work out how that's even possible!

Yay! Pink I'm desperate to have my scan so that we can tell the world. Even OH is openly eager Smile

Managed to go out and buy some clothes today. I bought some jogging bottoms which I never wear but were sooooo comfortable when I tried them on, and some oversized tops. I've also bought some practically new maternity jeans from eBay for £10 bargain Grin

Runner, I've lost weight but my tummy has expanded, I think it's bloating. That's what I'm telling myself anyway! I'm sick of keeping pregnancy a secret now, I just want to tell everyone too!

Tracksuit bottoms are a godsend. I had to buy some last weekend and have lived in them and pj's.

I've had a mini breakthrough today - don't laugh- but I ate lettuce!! I was a big salad eater pre pregnancy but since being pregnant lettuce, tomatoes and all things healthy have turned my stomach. But today I managed a salad. It's the little things that make me happy and make me feel more human!

Hope everyone else is doing ok? Shelb, how's your nausea?

Morwenna1 · 24/01/2016 16:46

Just to let you all know, Dorothy Perkins has an up to 75% off sale online. Just been on there and ordered some maternity bits! Worth checking out. Oh, and there's an extra 10% on vouchercodes as well (it's the top promo code that says exclusive next to it). So far my boobs have not grown much at all, so haven't needed to get new bras. I live in loose jeans and stretchy jogging bottoms at home!

I am definitely showing. Well, it could be gas, but I look huge for someone only 10+6! Hi Lauren! Here's hoping you're like me and Bunch and you don't get sickness.

That is so annoying Bunch, just seen the snow on the news though, it looks crazy over there! I like snow, it's pretty, but it does make getting around a pain.

Runner I would go ahead and have your jab if it's been recommended to you. I am looking forward to having it out over the phone Tuesday with the nurse and trying to get to the bottom of this. It's one thing to be given personal recommendations that you shouldn't have it done, but quite something else if you've been told the official NHS guidelines have altered when they haven't. Fab you have your scan date! If only I had mine....starting to get impatient!

Morwenna1 · 24/01/2016 16:51

Exercise: non-existent. I was walking around a lot yesterday and struggled for breath on a number of occasions! I also was getting a bad back. So I don't think conventional exercise is going to happen for me. They have aquanatal classes nearby and the thought of feeling almost weightless really appeals to me! I think I'll look into that after 12 weeks.

DTD: Not interested!! I feel bloated and knackered most of the time, so poor DH is having to just put up with it for now!

sophied1983 · 24/01/2016 21:24

It is frustrating in a way seeing on scan that I was 6+5 at that point instead of 8+1 - it's like I've gone backwards! I knew that would be the case, but feels annoying still!!!

LittleBelle90 · 24/01/2016 21:43

Runner I have the same scan date as you! I'll only be 10+2 though so I'm not sure why I've got an appointment so early. Have my booking in appointment with midwife on Wednesday so will ask her then. I've also booked an early scan for 6th Feb which I done before the NHS letter arrived.

Starting to feel sick today but not sure if that's because of the 5 Krispy Kreme doughnuts I'm eaten haha

Pinklily1 · 24/01/2016 21:51

5 Krispy Kremes?! I'm impressed!

I've had reflux today. Has anyone else had that yet?

Runner05 · 24/01/2016 21:55

Lol, Little well 5 crispy creams will do it!

Pink I had the best chicken Cesar salad ever today. Even OH was going on about how good it was. Could eat another one already, it's been another one of those "eat anything that isn't nailed down" days.

Mor I'm definitely going to get my jab. I will book it on Tuesday when I'm at the dr for my blood test.

Soph I'm sure that's so frustrating for you. I think I would cry if someone told me that.

I looked at my calendar today and realised how short my 7 remaining months of pregnancy look when laid out together. Scary!

Laurenrl · 24/01/2016 22:17

Thanks for all the welcomes! I didn't realise how immediate the bloating would be, I look about 4 months pregnant tonight after a big meal haha.

Not sure how I'd look after 4 Krispy Kremes Wink

Runner05 · 24/01/2016 22:58

Lol Lauren welcome to the wonderful world of pregnancy. Gone are the days of obsessing over cm, now it's all about bloating, constipation and how many times you have to go to the loo every night (last night I had to get up 4 times!)

On that delightful note, does anyone else need to go to the loo 3 or 4 times in quick succession before they can go to sleep? I'll go to the loo, then lay down and 10 minutes later I need a wee again. Then 15 minutes later I'll be up again!! Shock and so on until I get to sleep. I think it's worse when i have constipation tmi but it's driving me crazy!
I always do need a wee so it's not psychological which was my first thought.

Also, roughly connected. I have a recurring dream that I need to go to the loo but I can't find a toilet or I can but it's broken/blocked/doesn't have a door/is so dirty it would give a Glastonbury long drop a run for its money.
Anyway, I looked up its meaning the other night and apparently that kind of recurring dream is often your subconscious's way of saying "wake up! You need a wee"
Pointless bit of trivia but I'm feeling a bit ditsy so I thought I'd share Grin

Argh! Woke up at 4 am completely freaked out by a really vivid dream about being a serial killer! Had to wake myself up to get over it and haven't been able to sleep since... It's going to be a long day! Hmm

leoniethelioness · 25/01/2016 06:46

I'm only 4+5 but I had to get up twice last night to pee. I used to really suffer with waking up to pee until I cut out caffeine after work. I'm obviously hardly drinking any caffeine now so I think I'm going to have to just put up with this!

leoniethelioness · 25/01/2016 06:49

I feel lucky that I had the flu jab before Christmas as it was offered at work. It seems stressful working out the pros and cons with all this information. I need to look into the whooping cough vaccination as I've not had that. I think you have it in late pregnancy?

shelbTa · 25/01/2016 08:13

Morning ladies!

Awesome about the scan date runner, how exciting!

Pink - Friday and Saturday the nausea was horrendous, but touch wood today not too bad so far! Have you tried fizzy water? I'm finding that really good.

Had a reality check from my mum about going back to work post baby - I said I was planning on going back full time as I doubt my employer would consider part time for my particular role. She said I was crazy and wouldn't be able to manage (in the nicest possible way). Panicked me a little.

X

Pinklily1 · 25/01/2016 10:44

I haven't tried fizzy water Shelb, I might give it a go.

If you made a flexible working request at work they do have to consider it at least, so you could give it a go at least and see what the reaction is. Is you team predominantly men or women or a mix? I'm hoping to go back to work 4 days a week, depending on finances, but we'll see.

I got up to go to the toilet in the night and has a horrible dizzy spell, black spots in front of my eyes and everything, it really freaked me out.

How's everyone else doing? Bunch will be on her travels to New York today, I'm a bit jealous!

Laurenrl · 25/01/2016 14:41

I just went for a wee and there was some brown discharge in my pants and when I wiped, nothing flowing. Totally freaked out now and worried :( anyone else have anything similar? :(

Pinklily1 · 25/01/2016 15:33

Lauren, I haven't had that but a few people have had some spotting and discharge earlier in the thread.Have you DTD recently? I think that can cause it.

Maybe keep an eye on it and if you are worried contact the doctor or hospital (from recollection you won't have met the midwife yet!).

shelbTa · 25/01/2016 17:37

Lauren - like pink say a few of us have had it. Try not to worry.

Pink - it's tough at work as I do kind of end-to-end project work, so we will be assigned something for say a week and no one else can really work on it. So if I went down to four days id essentially have to do five days work in four days, so same work to the same standard for less money. I didn't think this through!

X

hgleslie89 · 25/01/2016 18:07

Lauren I had it at 8 weeks and again at 10 and 11. If it's not bright red, heavy or causing you lots of pain it should be fine. Definitely worth mentioning to the midwife when you see them though.

Laurenrl · 25/01/2016 18:55

Not causing me a lot of pain, I've been cramping for a couple of days but nothing more than an AF cramp. Very worried now even through it's not gotten any worse and is only there when I wipe. Think I'll go docs tomorrow

sophied1983 · 25/01/2016 20:40

I will have to go back full time because of money. I earn more and it's a permanent role and my hubby is self employed.

I am planning on doing compressed full time hours over four days. Tired just thinking about it!!!

hgleslie89 · 25/01/2016 21:58

I'm hoping to go back on reduced hours. I earn a lot less than my hubby but it's a job I (mostly) enjoy so I'll be going back unless the cost of childcare is more than I'd be making. We haven't really looked into it yet but I think I'd go a bit crazy if I were at home all day.

Pinklily1 · 26/01/2016 10:49

Morning ladies, how is everyone?

It turns out my last three weeks of hideous morning, noon and night nausea was just a teaser for the real deal - I've spent this morning throwing up Confused

Lauren, has the discharge stopped?

Lanadel · 26/01/2016 11:12

Hi all, how are we doing?

Welcome Lauren, hope you are alright and the discharge has stopped but defo contact a midwife if you are concerned.
Talking about maternity, if you sign up to Mothercare, you get lots of emails with discounts, I got one the other day with a code for 20% off maternity wear. I haven't used it yet, I haven't put on any weight as of yet and hopefully I won't for a while!
I got my booklet through about screening yesterday, that was a horrible thing to read in bed last night! Xxx
