Well we were TTC but now we've graduated to growing a small human. Good buy peeing on opk's and ic's every day hello monitoring exactly how sick and bloated we feel and ensuring that we're never more than 30ft from a bathroom!

It's the TTC#1 graduates thread! Come and join us on a no holds barred exploration of first time pregnancy (but be really careful about opening any links about cervical fluid unless you have a very strong constitution... Let's face it you're pregnant so you don't)

Amazing Leslie. How are you feeling?

We will definitely find out the sex too, I'm too impatient to wait!

Runner05 · 23/01/2016 14:46

Is anyone else struggling to work out what to wear while they're pregnant?

I've got to the point where size 18 jeans are too uncomfortable (damn my early showing genetics) but I'm not really a leggings and long top kind of person which seems to be what people wear these days. If I start dressing like that the world and his dog will know I'm upduffed!!
Any ideas?

What about just swapping to maternity jeans instead of normal ones?

I've spent most of the past three weeks in pj's and tracksuit bottoms so haven't had to address this yet!

shelbTa · 23/01/2016 16:19

Congrats Leslie!

Hi everyone.

Hmm tricky runner, do you wear dresses and thick tights maybe? Or like pink says maternity jeans and longer tops? I think that is going to be my staple - skinny jeans / trousers and baggy tops. I'm zero showing though, 8 weeks today. Anybody else not?

Are any of you exercise girls managing to exercise still? I haven't managed any.

Today is good day, nausea minimal, but have now gone off water as it makes me nauseous!!!! I use to drink so much of it, having to drink fizzy water.

Newmrs22 · 23/01/2016 16:51

I had to buy new bras today. I'm 9+6 and get worried how big the boobs are going to get!
The clothes thing is so difficult. I'm not showing, I just feel uncomfortable/bloated.

I've hardly done any exercise shelb. I walk 20 mins each way to work so I guess that sort of counts, but I used to go to the gym or classes 3 times a week. Only managed to go for half an hour last Sunday. Midwife said its fine and listen to your body. If you're tired, don't go. Pick it up again in 2nd tri.

shelbTa · 23/01/2016 17:14

That's what I'm hoping new - when the morning sickness hopefully goes by the second trimesta I can get back into doing some and healthy eating.

Pinklily1 · 23/01/2016 17:51

I've done zero exercise for the past three weeks. I can't wait to feel well enough and have enough energy to get back into it. Not worrying about it for now.

I'm not showing yet either Shelb, I'm 8+1. I just find jeans etc uncomfortable around my tummy as they make the nausea worse.

I'm desperate for new bras, I think my boobs have gone up at least a cup size and I'm starting to get the four boob look in my current bras so definitely need some new ones!

shelbTa · 23/01/2016 19:25

Totally - I'm now in pjs on a Saturday night to take the pressure off my stomach.

Runner05 · 23/01/2016 19:34

No exercise here either. To be honest I've been mostly wandering around in nothing but my pants the past couple of weeks Blush
Can't bare anything touching my tummy (which is definitely bigger and sporting a very shallow belly button) but I have to wear jeans when I go to see my mum and I'm nearly always sick afterwards Sad
Only 3 week until the second trimester and I'm so desperate to start feeling the magical improvement everyone keeps telling me will happen.

Btw mini twister ice lollies are the future!

Pinklily1 · 23/01/2016 20:37

Oh god Runner, an ice lolly!! I could eat one of those! Makes a change from potatoes which are my current staples Smile

Runner05 · 23/01/2016 20:49

It was heaven Pink, OH had to put on headphones because I was making so many yummy sounds. And because it's mostly sorbet it also felt like I was getting so much badly needed moisture... I actually felt somewhere approaching normal for a few minutes while I ate it.

I've been an absolute pig today though. And when I haven't been eating I've been fantasising about meat and yummy meals I'm going to eat when I'm better... I wish this was a sign of improvement but I had one of these days last week and the next day I was really poorly again Hmm

sophied1983 · 23/01/2016 20:55

Been to the gym a couple of times a week but not really much of a workout. 20mins on the cross-trainer and some stretches. No way I fancy the classes I used to do. Tough to find the energy. Been getting in bed at about 8pm every night haha...

Pinklily1 · 23/01/2016 21:29

Right, I am sending OH to buy ice lollies tomorrow Smile

I'm totally off meat. It tastes too meaty!!

BunchOfBobs · 24/01/2016 08:21

Morning all,

I hit the twisters earlier in the week, they're EPIC!

So I've had a huge baby brain moment which has turned into a bit of maher/hilarity.

I'm supposed to go to NYC today except my friend and I both thought we were flying Monday so the plan was for me to drive to London Sunday night. Saturday afternoon when I'm printing everything I spot that we actually fly Sunday. Rapid rush as I pack and throw myself into the car for. 4 hour drive. Flight still on schedule everything good. Insurance only covers me from the 25th- bugger.

Just before bed and we're trying to online checkin and see all flights cancelled. Phoned up the helpline and we now fly Monday as originally thought. Gah!! Could have saved those few hours of stress!! Coming back a day later though so nothing lost. Just an extra day with my friend gained. I still find it quite funny.

Laurenrl · 24/01/2016 08:27

Hey guys!

Got my BFP on Friday night and so thought I'd check in here even though it's super super early still (my period was due today)
Here's my nice clear line :)

I'm 25 ttc #1, cycle 1 (I feel incredibly lucky so far and terrified that the worst will happen)

Sorry to read you guys all have major symptoms! I'm currently only getting the metal taste and a strong sense of smell. I'm hoping my boobs don't grow any more as well as I'm a size 10 with a ridiculous set of 34G boobs as it is :(

Hope you're all having a great weekend!! Smile

Congrats lauren. And welcome.
We're not all suffering. I've had no real morning sickness. Just dizziness and delightful undercarriage pain related to tendon stretching.

Don't be worried at all if you get hideous AF type cramps. I think we all pretty much got them in the beginning weeks. Have you phoned your midwife yet or do you have to speak to gp first?

shelbTa · 24/01/2016 08:57

Welcome Lauren.

Ha ha, bloody hell bunch that's an epic stress! Hope you have a great time.

Quick question - how are you ladies coping in the 'romance' department? I feel like I'm constantly pushing oh away, even from kissing as it makes me feel sick. Feel for the poor bastard.

X

Newmrs22 · 24/01/2016 09:17

Yeah the romance is tough. I just don't feel like it! Poor DH.
I'm 10 weeks today! Wahoo (although I thought I was last week... It's a real pain to be out with your dates at the scan, having to repeat weeks you thought you'd done!)

Pinklily1 · 24/01/2016 10:19

Morning ladies

Welcome Lauren, that's a good strong line!

Bunch, at least you got there nice and early and aren't missing the actual flight! Have a wonderful time.

Shelb, there's no real romance action in our house at the minute. We've only DTD once since the BFP - I think we needed a break to re-charge after all of the TTC sex! Then I started feeling so poorly that I couldn't if I wanted to, I'd worry I'd be sick on OH! I do feel bad but there's not a great deal I can't do about it. OH would know that if I participated now I wouldn't be enjoying it, and then he wouldn't enjoy it either. Hopefully it will pick up again once I feel better.

Pinklily1 · 24/01/2016 10:20

Also, New, woo hoo for 10 weeks! Getting into double figures seems like a milestone to me, I can't wait Smile

Runner05 · 24/01/2016 10:29

D'oh! Bunch what a kufuffle

Welcome Lauren if I were you I'd spend the next couple of weeks doing and eating everything you fancy. If you're unlucky the real symptoms will hit about week 6 and then you won't feel like anything for a while.

Shelb OH has been made aware that he'll be compensated for neglect during the mythical second trimester.

New woohoo for week 10. I'm just a week behind you.

Feel almost human this morning. I'm sure it won't last so I'm enjoying the sensation.

Thanks to everyone for the advice!

I haven't called my GP yet, it's been the weekend since I found out! I will probably do it next week and ask them if I need an appointment or if I can just register with a midwife.

Hope everyone's having a good weekend! I have a meal cooking in the slow cooker and am doing 3 loads of washing! V exciting life I lead haha

leoniethelioness · 24/01/2016 15:24

Welcome, Lauren

I've filled in a form and dropped it off with my GP. I'm waiting for the midwife to get in touch now. Apparently she only does appointments on a Wednesday morning, which is really awkward. I was hoping I could get an appointment on a Monday or Friday and take the day off so as not to raise any suspicions!

I bought myself a pair of trousers for work this weekend in a bigger size. Accepting it's now unlikely I'll shift the Christmas weight! They are a little bit roomy but will be fine for the next couple of months, I hope!
