Wow cookies, those nt results are low indeed. You must be delighted! ! I got my letter back yesterday after our nhs scan on Tuesday - impressed that it only took 2 days. Results were 1:4013, feel quite pleased except that am confused that they are so different from the private scan we had two weeks ago, 1:1100. Could there be that much difference in a scan at 11+3 and one at 13+5?
Really pleased with the care we have got so far, all the appointments seem prompt even if the booking in felt a bit rushed. It seems to vary so much from region to region doesn't it? Crazycatlady, I think you have been quite unlucky with yours.
Been meaning to reply to all the posts about weight gain. I thought I'd only put on about a kilo, but when they finally weighed me at the blood tests this week I was 4kg more! Am hoping it was just clothes, shoes, time of day, different scales, etc... Must have another weigh in before my shower in the morning. I'm still ok for BMI etc, but it's never a nice feeling to put on more than you think you should. Like others, I have been eating a lot although mostly healthy food. Am so afraid of fainting I am snacking a lot so my blood sugar doesn't drop.
Really hoped the nausea and tiredness would be gone by now at just over 14 weeks, but feel even more sick and exhausted than before. Am hoping it's partly just the Christmas cold I caught working its way through and next week I'll be better.
Wore my first pair of maternity trousers to work this week. Mainly because my sister had passed them on and some of my other normal pairs were in the wash. They were slightly too big still, but oh so comfortable! Think I will be OK for the next month or so but will gradually outgrow my normal clothes and need to supplement what sis has provided. In the meantime, my normal tunic dresses and leggings are a godsend.
Lastly, a comment for the herbal tea discussion (difficult to keep up when there is so much happening on this thread all the time!). I am a big herbal tea drinker and nearly died of shock when I happened to see on one of the pregnancy diet advice pages that you're not supposed to drink that much. I agree that it's probably due to lack of research, but there was a list of at least 6 teas that have been proven to affect pregnant women, so it's worth a check.
Otherwise, my compromise is to try and drink different kinds of herbal tea, so as to not have too much of any one herb. My main ones are lemon and ginger (lifesaver in the mornings!), rooibos and camomile. And cranberry if I am worried I am getting a bladder infection. I already drank decaf black tea in the evenings, so am having that more in the day instead of normal. However, black tea blocks iron absorption, so it's not a good idea to drink with meals (or even an hour before or after!). So that can also be tricky when you're anaemic.
Phew, long post! Sorry about that...
