insufficiently I'm sorry to hear about your bad news, I'll also be thinking of you at 4pm.

Cookies and Bluebell, I have a DS who is now 3.5. He's a boy, but more importantly he's a child and an individual. He's just who he is, and honestly nothing about him is scary. There's no difference in how they are until a lot older, and even then there's such a wide variation between individuals. As babies the only difference is what you do when you change a nappy, and that's it really.

Scase1firsttimemum · 07/01/2016 14:54

Insufficiently- I will be sending positive vibes your way and hope you get a good result. Thinking of you

Thats a reason Im scared to have a boy.. My DP was a shit bag as a child!horrible to his siblings, so if it is a mini him Im glad we dont have more children so it cant hurt them! :L

Insufficiently I'm so sorry to hear your news. I'll be thinking of you at 4pm and hoping for the best Thanks

My scan went well, I'll catch up later tonight and post a pic.

gnat99 · 07/01/2016 15:33

Congrats Wanting! Lovely pic. So pleased it went well and baby so active.

Hopes, delighted to hear that yours went well too. Bet you'll sleep better tonight Smile

I've just been shopping with DH to spend some Next vouchers we were given. Had to come and sit in the car after about 20 mins as I could barely stand up anymore! He's in Asda now doing the grocery shop on his own. Feel so useless.

Insufficiently, 4pm is coming close. Thinking of you.

crazycatlady39 · 07/01/2016 16:15

Best wishes for the scan insufficiently, i hope for the best for you. My hospital are useless and at 12+1 today I am still waiting for a booking in appointment. Scan booked for next fri which will be 13+2 which stresses me a bit as I am 39 (it's my first) and am not sure if I will even be booked in by then! I started back at work and gym on Monday and am struggling with feeling really tired and hungry. Nausea not too bad, maybe because I have work to take my mind off it a bit, but I am shocked at how my body is reacting. I also have a bit of a bump which my boyfriend says looks like a bump (I just thought I looked fat / bloated). Won't really have my mind put at rest until the scan though. All the emotions are quite exhausting.

mascaraisamust · 07/01/2016 17:09

Hope your ok insufficiently. It's so hard, I was the same in August. It's just horrible how many people in happens to.

Great pic wanting. Can't believe it's Friday tomorrow - 5 days to go! I hope all is ok this time...

mascaraisamust · 07/01/2016 17:12

And in regards to the nct thing, I've booked as much stuff as possible to meet people. I'm knew to the area so I'm trying to spread my wings so to speak! If I learn anything (I haven't looked a book yet) then it'll be a bonus! It is expensive though! Of course not paid yet, not until the scan

Crazycatlady - what a pain, that's really not cool to have it arse before tit like that. You'll go into the scan without the nice chatty prep of a midwife. Can your GP give a nudge? That said, scan is usually fab and fascinating and bean will be properly recognisable by now! Totally understand your age worries as I'm 39 too; not sure if you've noticed though, that there are loads of us oldies and most with v happy stories!

Bluebell - lovely to hear you're having a boy. My 9 month old son is just so wonderful and so unlike either of his parents, as culture says they're their own person...whether girl or boy. You and he will be fab and how great you've agreed on a name already!

pulpi · 07/01/2016 21:14

Ladies, so DH wants to come to the booking appointment on Monday. I've told him that he doesn't need to be there at all because all the questions and tests will be about me (it's all about me!!), but he's super keen.

He will be coming to the scan on Thursday, of course, which seems to me the more important of the two appointments next week.

Any of you have your DP come to the booking appointment?

11+2

mascaraisamust · 07/01/2016 21:26

My DP did pulpi, they asked him a couple of questions too to make him feel involved about family history etc. It was nice for him to ask questions to like is it normal for me to be this bloated???!! Haha!

wantingno2 · 07/01/2016 21:27

Thank you everyone I've had a bit of a crappy ending to a really great day my mums dog bit my son on his face this evening it wasn't bad as he only caught him so just a scratch but it really frightened my son and my mum has decided to get the dog put down I'm really glad my son is okay as that's the most important thing bur I'm still upset that the dog will be put down as we've had him for 11 years and he's usually such a good dog we don't have him around the kids anyway but he wanted to say buy to the dog and he had a lolly in his hand and they both went for the lolly at the same time I sort of feel like it's my fault my mum is adamant it's the best thing as I'm expecting another baby and she doesn't want anything like that to happen again so I had a little cry about the dog getting put down but I'm so released my boy is okay and it's just a scratch xx

Gx91 · 07/01/2016 21:36

Omg wanting - that's really sad , sounds like a bit of an accident but I get what ur mum means , if it happened again she would never forgive herself X hope u and ur son r ok X also lovely scan pic Wink
Congrats blue bell ur having a boy !! Grin X
Hope ur doing ok insufficiently xxx

wantingno2 · 07/01/2016 21:46

Thank you gx91 I'm just glad my boy is okay but I can't help but be upset about the dog he's bin such a big part of the family I will really miss him my mum is right though it's just not worth the risk x

HopesAndDreams15 · 07/01/2016 21:51

Wanting what a lovely pic, congrats!

Thanks Gnat, yes I should sleep well tonight!

Crazycatlady that's rubbish, hope they get your booking sorted soon and good luck for the scan.

Elizardo I agree, I have both a boy and a girl and they're so different but equally adorable. I'll be 100% happy whether this baby is a boy or a girl, I honestly have no preference.

Pulpi that's sweet that DH is eager to go to the booking, some of the questions are regarding family history are relevant for both sides of the family so wouldn't hurt for him to go...saying that I've never taken mine.

Wanting sorry to hear about your mums dog, glad your son is ok though.

Thinking of you insufficiently.

They brought my date forward just one day at the scan today so I'm now due 21st of July. Baby was very active and reluctant to reveal the nuchal measurement but we got there in the end! My DC were concerned baby has a beak but apparently it had its face over its face !

So sorry insufficiently - look after yourself and take the time you need. Hope you and your DP are looking after each other. It is such a painful time but it gets better. Much love and luck to you xxx

Scase1firsttimemum · 07/01/2016 22:45

Oh Insufficiently Im so sorry to hear that Sad how awful, I cant imagine how youre feeling but if you or anyone else that has had bad news needs a chat Im always here!

What a lovely scan, they had me doing all sorts just so they could take measurements, I was upside down for about 5 minutes. :L

What a horrible thing to hear about your dog but glad your son is okay. Sometimes pets are so unpredictable! However its probably for the best

gnat99 · 07/01/2016 23:38

Insufficiently, I'm so sorry. Good luck getting through this, and going on to conceive a healthy baby as soon as you are ready. Flowers

Hamsolo · 07/01/2016 23:45

So sorry to hear that Flowers

Gx91 · 08/01/2016 07:01

Insufficiently so sad , hope u take time to grieve and recover and u get everything u need Flowers xx

Bluebell20 · 08/01/2016 07:32

Wanting, sorry you had such a rubbish thing happen. Hope you're okay.

Hopes, the beak comment did make me laugh!

Thanks everyone for all the boy-boosting! Wink It's the teenage boy bit that daunts me I think, rather than the little-boy bit (I have some very gorgeous honourary nephews who I frankly prefer to the honourary nieces; sssshh, I know I'm not supposed to have favourites...). As others have said, my husband was a total sod when he was a teenager - legendary, in fact, among both family and friends. But on the other hand, I was an angel (of course), and who's to say that our son won't take after me?!?!!?!
