Mascara - funny i had a day like that at 11 weeks. After more nausea than sickness ended up wretching in the street on way to the Post Office, it was pre-Xmas so I got sympathetic looks from people who looked hungover…. was quite a surprise and it lasted all day, bleugh. I remember having lots of baking to do which wasn't much fun! I feel for the ladies that have had this constantly. Anyway, was only that awful that day, weird.

HopesAndDreams15 · 06/01/2016 17:08

Good luck for the scan tomorrow Wanting, mine is tomorrow too and I'm so excited but nervous at the same time. Don't think ill get much sleep tonight Confused

Great news about your results Beaut!

Glad the scan went well gnat Smile

Scase I'm aiming for breast feeding but I won't be beating myself up if it doesn't work out and baby ends up on formula. I only breast fed my other two for 6 weeks and they've turned out ok so far!

Pinsey sorry to hear that, but as other ladies have said, it doesn't definitely mean bad news. The stats Bluebell gave really put it into perspective but I understand how worrying it must be so sending hugs.

Insufficiently how worrying but glad the appointment went well and fingers crossed for your scan next week. Take things easy and look after yourself.

Vikki, great news about your scan/bloods.

It's been a busy day on here today! Smile

Cheery1 · 06/01/2016 17:23

Great news on scans Gnat and Vickki (great they did your bloods on same day, much better than having to wait)!

Good luck with scans tomorrow Hopes and Wanting Smile

HopesAndDreams15 · 06/01/2016 17:26

Thanks Cheery Smile

mascaraisamust · 06/01/2016 17:46

Haha cheery it was exactly as you described! So random.

Oh more scans, good luck ladies!

As the days go by I can feel nerves kicking in for the scan, quite glad to be so busy at the moment. Today has flown! I've also eaten like a horse and I've discovered croutons!! Gosh beautiful! Just had to stop myself eating the whole bag. I'm convinced I'm having a boy with all this savoury. I'm normally all about chocolate and desserts, not interested in it really. Well the appetite appears to be back today Hmm

I've reserved a place on an nct course, reserved a pregnancy yoga class and I've found an aquanatal class for 14 weeks+, plan is to keep busy for the duration!

Scase1firsttimemum · 06/01/2016 18:02

It is nervous waiting for the scan, when I was in there yesterday Id convinced myself there was nothing in there!

My friend has just given birth to her baby boy and sent me photos, he looks so precious and makes me want this little one to hurry up GrinGrin

Hi ladies! Geesh thus thread moves fast.

Crazy week here. Told work I was pregnant and I think my boss is excited. He keeps bringing it up in meetings. HR is dingle handedly told the entire office like a proud father. That's fine really most of its relevent as we work big events and I'm firmly in the no summer events category. Hoping to be back for new years but we will see how that all works out. Might come back for the three days before Xmas.

Lucia82 I'm so glad I went for a private scan before Xmas too, especially since my NHS one wasn't til I was 14 weeks, what a long wait

Beaut great news on your results

gnat hooray on scan

Thistledew · 06/01/2016 18:12

mascara - I'm glad I'm not the only one who is ravenous. I'm usually quite moderate in what I eat and don't really snack, but I have such an appetite at the moment. I had bought my lunch today and had to wait for the lift to get back into my office and nearly had a tantrum at how slow it was being as it was delaying me being able to eat! Then mid afternoon I had to go out for a packet of crisps and a juice as my stomach was turning in on itself with hunger again. I have put on nearly 4kg so far so really fear how much I will balloon by the end of it. I just don't see how I can limit my intake at the moment given how physical the feeling of needing to eat is for me right now. Does anyone have any tips?

Pinseyboo38 · 06/01/2016 18:31

bluebell Thankyou so much for putting it into percentages for me and when you say it like that it does give a better perspective. Thankyou to all the other ladies who commented, you all helped to keep me calm. I had to stay at work as I work in an operating theatre and there was no one to cover me which meant things would of been cancelled had I gone home. Midwife is going to ring me again tomorrow morning for another chat. I have googled the harmony test and o can get it privately here in Birmingham for £500. I think I'm going to go for that option just to ease my mind. After my mused miscarriage earlier this year I am already a nervous wreck and just need some reassurance. Thanks again for all your kind words and positivity xxx

Scase1firsttimemum · 06/01/2016 18:44

Thistledew- I am exactly the same! And put on about that much weight as well! Its so bad Confused but junk is all I want to eat at the moment!

Are any of you wearing maternity clothes yet? I feel huge and none of my clothes fit but I don't know where to buy maternity clothes in the UK. Do primark do them? It H&M?

mascaraisamust · 06/01/2016 18:49

Thistle I've only put on 1kg, today has been the day my appetite has returned. After a nauseous hour when I woke up Ive had:

A nutrigrain bar, twix, turkey salad sandwich, packet of crisps, satsuma, banana, chicken and new potatoes with salad and croutons!!! Two biscuits, yoghurt, rocky bar!

Cheery1 · 06/01/2016 19:01

Aw Pinsey I know the feeling, it's so hard to stay sane after recent mc, especially if like me you're a bit older. Glad midwife is looking after you and hope you get some concrete reassurance soon. Think positive! x

Cheery1 · 06/01/2016 19:04

Thistledew - I've put on 3kg and I'm a midget so that's loads! Trying to eat healthily post Xmas but can't stop snacking (worse as I work from home a lot)!

Magickal - I gave up jeans ages ago, just not comfortable and now even my 'fat' trousers don't fit! Legging and dresses all the way here. Toast have some lovely, loose fitting stuff in the sale if you don't want to buy maternity stuff yet….

Scase1firsttimemum · 06/01/2016 19:05

I wear leggings (amazing piece of clothing) and oversized jumpers, theyre a great investment I wear them all the time, everyday (other than if Im working) I didnt want to look at maternity stuff until I had my scan so now I know its all good I may start looking!

Cheery1 I'm 39 on Sunday and this will be first baby so trying to stay positive but like you said its so difficult. You get through one milestone only for it to be replaced with some other worry. Thanks for the kind words xx

RoseInWonderland · 06/01/2016 19:58

I've been in maternity clothes since 10 weeks! My bump is huge! I think it's because my last pregnancy ruined my stomach muscles so this time it's just popped. I've got some bits from Next, New Look and Mothercare. Asda also have quite a good range.

With regards to breastfeeding, I'm planning on doing it with this one. I breastfed my twins until 15 months and loved every second of it. We were really lucky though and they took to it quite easily.

mascaraisamust · 06/01/2016 20:23

I've been in them since 9 weeks and it's #1Blush Matalan (in store), Asda George (online), H&M (in store - very basic), New Look (online)

Gx91 · 06/01/2016 20:52

Aw G what a cutie! Gorgeous pic! X

Bluebell20 · 06/01/2016 21:02

Haven't read back through posts yet so apologies if I missed anything major - will catch up tomorrow - just posting quickly to say that my private doctor rang this evening with my Harmony results. Low risk - less than 1 in 10,000 - and they think we're having a little boy!

So relieved.

Now, what can I worry about next? Wink

mascaraisamust · 06/01/2016 21:12

Gx, fab scan!

Scase1firsttimemum · 06/01/2016 21:21

How do I go about having a harmony test? And how do they do it?

Scase1firsttimemum · 06/01/2016 21:22
