Lovely scan pics!! I have broken up from school today, it's been a long term with hg Sad 15+1 so hoping the sickness might start receding soon, I've had a few little popcorn pops the least day or so!! X

TomboyGirl · 18/12/2015 21:23

Congratulations billi!

TomboyGirl · 18/12/2015 21:36

Thanks Belvedere, MollieRos and everyone else for the useful information on NCT.

nehagarg you've probably got the earliest June due date in the group! I am close behind your heels...on Monday I'll be 16wks +4!

nehagarg · 18/12/2015 23:29

Great scN puc billi. Congrats.

Tomboy yep. Mine was moved from 2nd june to 39th may which is why I am trailing ahead. Havent felt any proper flutters yet though. Cant be sure about anything i am feeling since its my first and I have no point of comparison. Its probably just gas. Your 20 week scan must be soon too?

Mrspopper · 19/12/2015 06:03

Really liked my NCT classes. And yes made friends through them. However have also made a good network of friends from local playgroups etc. I also did daisy birthing and met lovely ladies through that too.

Tired tired tired.... Been up all night with poorly DD today is going to be a struggle. Maybe we'll have a duvet day!

TomboyGirl · 19/12/2015 06:16

nehagarg yes, my 20 week scan is in the 2nd week of Jan....Got my 16wk appointment with the midwife on Christmas eve!

When I went for my dating scan I turned out to be 3 days further along than I thought, so not quite sure whether I've moved into May as well. My original estimated due date was also 2nd June!

laughingGnomette · 19/12/2015 08:18

mrspopper - I hope DD feels better soon.

Monten · 19/12/2015 10:06

Hi all - would like to tentatively join you if I may. I'm 14 weeks with my first, due 17 June. This is my fourth pregnancy, first ended in a TFMR following Edwards syndrome diagnosis at 12w scan. Then two missed miscarriages after that.

Can't believe I am finally here. But after initial euphoria following positive 12w scan feeling very anxious again.

Convinced today that my bump is smaller, I know rationally any 'bump' was just bloat and this is probably totally normal but struggling to convince myself the odds are in my favour now. I've been on the wrong side of those odds three times, so when they say 'it's very unlikely' for something to go wrong now it doesn't reassure me at all.

Anyway, sorry for negative first post! I've been reading back - wonderful to see all the lovely scan pics. I like all of your positivity and I'm going to try and emulate it!

Here's to a straightforward next 6 months Flowers

carrie1008 · 19/12/2015 10:16

Hi Monten congratulations! I agree the worry doesn't seem to go, especially with a history behind you. I've had two previous mcs myself, so can understand a little what you are feeling. Everyone on here are super supportive and helpful. Fingers crossed for a smooth next 6 months xx

Mrspopper · 19/12/2015 10:38

Thanks gnomette. Daddy has taken her out for long walk so I can lay on sofa!

Eastend2015 · 19/12/2015 15:29

Hi Monten- good luck! An ectopic and an MMC here and now 13+5.

Thanks for the advice on NCT all, I think we'll go for it. It is really expensive but I think it'll be good for both of us. I'm not planning to do much reading until after 20 wks as am still worried something will go wrong so it might help to get a download of everything in one go!

MollieRos · 19/12/2015 16:56

Welcome Monten!

Nehagarg I think I've felt a couple of flutters in the last week or so. I'm 16+4 and the internet reckons I shouldn't feel anything until more like 18-20 weeks though, so who knows?!

I tried on a few pairs of maternity jeans today just to get the sizing, I'm hoping to hold out for a few more weeks then hopefully get some online in the January sales. Over bump ones seem really uncomfy, I don't think I will be able to bear the elastic round the top of my stomach, but I'm a bit worried about flashing the bottom of my bump in under bump ones! They just felt so uncomfy, and my bump is only tiny- I can only imagine when I have a big bump! I'll maybe have to get some nice long vest tops too or make myself a bump band.

mrsmugoo · 19/12/2015 17:22

I'm the opposite, can't bear the under-bump ones they just fall down. Over bump are much more secure and they give a smooth shape.

iamdivergent · 19/12/2015 17:31

I cant bear over bump ones atm! Under bump all the way.

Feeling quite nauseous today despite my meds, dread to thin what I would be like without them tbh, when will this go?! 14 wks tomorrow and definately have a little bump now, only 1 pair of non maternity trousers fit me now and all my tops are tight but maternity tops swamp me still.

Convince I felt some fluttering earlier on when I was lying on bed after shower, but can't decide if I imagined them.

Welcome newbies and waves to everyone

Belvedere · 19/12/2015 18:18

I hate the under bump ones too. I had some nice topshop ones but now I'm bigger I spend all day pulling them up. H and M over bump ones are fab. Also tried some mothercare ones which I think I might buy. Over the bump comfort!

mrsmugoo · 19/12/2015 18:42

H&M over bump are what I've got and I've got a pair of ASOS over bumps too. Those combined with a pair of mat leggings will be all I need. I've got tops from last time but I mainly just wore long baggy tops and jumpers I already had.

PrincessPunzie · 19/12/2015 18:51

Does anyone have any recommendations for exercise tops? Hardly anyone does maternity (and that would be a bit OTT for me at the moment) but I'm normally an XS in gym tops and all mine are starting to look rather unforgiving! I tried on some nice layered vests in Sweatty Betty today, but panicked as to what size to get (should I go up one size? Two?) and ended up with nothing. I'm particularly keen to get a long-sleeved top or two for running, but the larger sizes look all baggy on my arms. Any brands that I can look up would be much appreciated, store recommendations would be even better as I prefer to buy my gym wear in person if possible as it's so variable at the best of times!

PrincessPunzie · 19/12/2015 18:53

Also if anyone could recommend a good brand of maternity tights? Again they'll probably look a bit odd at this stage, but I don't want to find I'm suddenly busting out of all my tights under my dresses over Christmas!

Belvedere · 19/12/2015 19:35

Marks and spencer maternity rights are 100% the best. But only for when you have a sizable bump. I hated the H and M ones.

Eastend2015 · 19/12/2015 21:14

Currently wearing mothercare ones (over bump) with a front panel, £6 which are great, very comfy but no massive bump needed. Seraphine also had an offer on theirs (can't quite remember what it was- buy two get one free?) but not worn them yet. Normal ones definitely cut me in half.

Princess- on the hunt for sportswear myself, no joy yet! Bought a seraphine racer back cossie which is good.

Belleboo23 · 19/12/2015 21:22

Great day at cadburys world today with the kids and dh thankfully nausea wasn't too bad today or I'd have missed out!! Got my nuchal screening results today shows low risk 1:5259 and I know the fluid measured 1.5mm at my scan. What sort of results have others had?

Torfhinn · 19/12/2015 21:45

monten, i recognise your name and remember your story from your first pregnancy, it really was heartbreaking. I can't tell you how pleased i am to see you here, i wish you and baby a smooth 6 months and beyond Smile

Those sound like great results belle!

earlgreydrinker · 19/12/2015 22:23

Welcome Monten, sorry to hear you have been through so much. Please be assured early pregnancy it seems is a worrying time for everyone. Feel free to share your worries or concerns - usually someone else feels the same!

amysmummy12345 · 19/12/2015 22:43

belleboo my nuchal measured 3.7mm, bloods showed 1:5 chance of abnormality. Thank the Lord cvs came back clear, just waiting on heart scan now. You have great odds compared to mine!!

Welcome Monten, wishing you all the best this time around.

I have awful heartburn tonight, mind you I've drank about a litre of dandelion and burdock lol x

dollydaydream84 · 19/12/2015 22:50

Hi Monten, welcome, you've had a difficult few years by the sounds of it so can totally understand why you are apprehensive. I was a total worrier with my first (no previous history) but someone said to me "you need to try and enjoy the pregnancy whatever the outcome as so many people don't get the opportunity to experience pregnancy at all and worrying won't change the outcome" I don't know why those words struck such a chord with me but they really did and I tried to be more positive and tried to enjoy the experience. I'm still a total worrier of course! Good to have you with us, wishing you a very uneventful 6 months :)

Zero news from me other than been sick as a dog all week, I'm now 13+2 so had thought it would ease not get worse! :( Finished work now and looking forward to the rest (if the toddler will let me!!)
