Loki I do think age makes a difference. I was 23 & 25 when I had my first two and I was pretty much fine throughout. I definitely found it more difficult last time around and this time even more so.

Peyia · 26/11/2015 18:33

Hi ladies,

Thanks for the info about the harmony test. That sounds like such a better option but I don't think we'll be able to afford it. It's a difficult subject and I don't think I can honestly answer as I don't know what I'd feel if I was in the position of having to choose. Like someone else mentioned, I think if there was no quality of life I would know what I'd do.

Chinese gender calendar says I'm having a boy. Does any have a preference? I personally want the obvious. Happy, healthy baby but as we have a girl it would be nice to mix it up with a boy.

SoniaShoe · 26/11/2015 18:42

I would never judge anyone's decision whether or not to continue after the test results because its such a personal decision. I don't even know what I would do for sure. I think I do but who knows when you're actually faced with the lifelong choice.

Anyway, on a lighter note I can't get enough of orange club biscuits. Eating millions of them!

SoniaShoe · 26/11/2015 18:44

peiya we'd like a boy as we've got a girl too but girl would be nice too to have sisters

wantingno2 · 26/11/2015 18:54

Thanks loki I will be 7+2 when I have my scan I can't wait I'm just so nervous x

Loki17 · 26/11/2015 18:59

I wish chocolate wasn't making me so nauseous. I can't drink wine and chocolate turns my stomach! All I eat is carbs at the minute. Today I had a giant crumpet for breakfast, another for lunch and I've snacked on a packet of crisps because I couldn't face anything else. DH has decided its Chinese takeaway for tea (dd had pasta bolognaise that I'd batch cooked from the freezer because I couldn't face cooking). Noodles and chilli salted chips rounds off my day of stodge! I feel a bit guilty really. Last pregnancy I had a weird thing for tomatoes on toast buy I ate really healthily. This time I'm in danger of turning into a crumpet!Smile

CultureSucksDownWords · 26/11/2015 19:03

Hi everyone Smile I forgot there was a new thread already...

It's interesting to hear about the breathlessness and the stuffy noses that lots of people are having. I've got the same too, but I don't remember having it last time. It's very annoying, at work everyone keeps asking me if I'm getting a cold. I'm pretending it's random allergies! I haven't told anyone at all yet - is anyone else in the same position? The scan seems an age away, and I'm filled with worries about whether things will be ok, which is not the norm for me. I didn't have a moment's thought of worry last time.

Kaytee1987 · 26/11/2015 19:36

Just spent the last hour and a half helping DH finish painting the dining room and now feel really dizzy Sad not used to feeling this unfit. Actually had to sit down, can't imagine how I will feel when I start piling on the weight x

mascaraisamust · 26/11/2015 19:53

I've had an apple overload today. Apples, appetiser and had to go out and buy apple pie Confused didn't fancy tea really so I had a ham sandwich and crisps. Not really the healthiest of days here either.

Kaytee1987 · 26/11/2015 19:57

Oh I really fancy apple pie and custard now. Maybe my reward for painting Smile

mascaraisamust · 26/11/2015 19:59

Culture I feel a bit like that too. 3 weeks until my early scan and I'm getting nervous as I head towards the 7 week mark where I mc before. got everything crossed that this one is it x

mascaraisamust · 26/11/2015 19:59

Cold custard Wink

Cookiesandcoffee · 26/11/2015 20:00

I think the more DC you have the more hard work it is!
Yey to having a scan date wanting

It is such a personal choice and I don't think anyone should judge anyone on such a decision. I don't think you know until you are in the situation yourself. Personally I know DH would not feel confident with continuing if our odds were high. Last time they were really low. Definitely couldn't afford a harmony and hadn't heard of them until this thread! Will be having the extra tests at the NHS scan though. Not at all lily I'm sure lots of people feel the same but don't feel they can be honest about it for fear of being judged. Totally agree that it will effect other DCs.
peyia same with the healthy baby but if I had a choice I would say boy! Having two dds I would love a boy and I think DH would be over the moon. A girl would make for a lot less shopping and expense! Been starting to go through all the old baby clothes today...

HopesAndDreams15 · 26/11/2015 20:00

I'm away at the moment but just popped on to catch up whilst I have wifi.

I'm so sorry to hear of people's losses, such sad news Thanks

I'm 5+6 today and no real symptoms to report other than restless legs and indigestion at night..my usual pregnancy symptoms!

When did you all book in with the midwife, is it 8 weeks?

Kaytee1987 · 26/11/2015 20:09

I will be 8 + 2 at my booking in appointment hopes x

Jo6526 · 26/11/2015 23:49

First night out without drinking! Was an award ceremony with work and would have loved glass of wine with dinner Confused

Loki17 · 27/11/2015 07:01

8 hours sleep seems to have done me the world of good (despite getting up 4 times to pee). 3 weeks left at work until the Christmas holidays. So much to do but I actually feel like I can make it today! Hoping this positive swing in my mood lasts!

MissClarke86 · 27/11/2015 07:58

Hope you're all well Smile

I'm jealous of those of you with booking appointments and scan dates! Have to wait nearly 2 weeks just to get into my GP which apparently I need to do before midwife referral.

I think I'm 5+3 and Not many symptons currently...in the day I have no appetite and feel a bit delicate, but not sick as such. I think the thought that I might get morning sickness is making me feel queasy, even though I'm not if that makes sense!? I'm also a teacher so panicking slightly about feeling sick whilst in such a high energy job - I can't just sit quietly!

I had a low day on Monday but feel like I've perked up again now and am excited again, those hormones are very real things aren't they!?

Gx91 · 27/11/2015 08:04

Glad ur feeling good today Loki ! Also looking forward to the Christmas break !
Going to buy more decorations for the house today and try not get involved in the carnage that Black Friday brings ! x
DD has managed to spill milk in my hair this morning Hmm so looks like il have to wash it before I go anywhere , I'm the total opposite and cba today x

Kaytee1987 · 27/11/2015 08:14

I'm feeling pretty good today, starving though! Hopefully 5pm comes round quickly then giving the dog a bath tonight and touching up some bits in the dining room. Seeing a friend tomorrow and DH mum, gran & brother round for dinner on Sunday - going to be so hard to hide it! Hope u all have a nice weekend xx

Jem01 · 27/11/2015 08:40

SoniaShoe - I remember orange club biscuits! Used to love them as a child, did they do a mint one too?

Loki - glad to hear you're feeling better.I'm eating so much too mainly carbs. Everything is just so tasty at the moment! Salt n vinegar crisps seem to be helping me not feel so nausea

Culture - we've told both sets of parents but no one else. We tell the rest of the family after our 12 week scan in Jan.

peyia - I have no preference, it's taken us so long to get pregnant, boy or girl will do!

Hope - I'll be 9+3 when I have my booking appt with midwife

We have our 8 week scan this afternoon, the one originally planned before the scare on Wed.
Looking forward to seeing our little bean again :-)

What's everyone's plans for the weekend?

Cheery1 · 27/11/2015 09:01

Sonia - orange club biscuits! Yum! That might be going on the online shop Smile

Miss Clarke - I've got no date yet (I'm 7+4), seeing GP on Tuesday. I did have a reassurance scan at 6 weeks as I had a mc in April and saw a heartbeat (amazing) but now waiting again. Midwife seemed to think it would be January before I was booked in, which seems like a age away. I agree it's feels weird not having a date now. Also I get waves of nausea at random times but no actual sickness if that sounds familiar. Also it might be a bit early for morning sickness for you, it really kicks in at 6 weeks according to midwife.

Mascara - I know exactly how you feel. I'm just trying to think positive. So grateful that we got pregnant again quickly but of course anxious because of mc in April. Keep crossing everything!

Loki - so glad you're having a positive rush! It's so great when that happens. I'm also eating for England. Trying not to care (usually so careful about what I eat, and run most days) and be kind to myself.

Gx91 - good luck avoiding the carnage! Hope you feel better x

Jem - I'm with you, I just hope for a healthy baby in 7 months, don't care if it's a boy or a girl! After mc I'll just be grateful if all is ok. Good luck with scan later, do post pics if you can!

Happy weekend lovely ladies xxxx

P.S. Jem - I've got my first meal out with inlaws tomorrow - bit early to tell them yet so I think I'm going to say I'm on antibiotics!

Cheery1 · 27/11/2015 09:19

Also, I think the decision after testing for disabilities or abnormalities is so personal. I'd never judge anyone's decision, it is so personal.

Anyway, here's hoping none of us have that decision to make.

xxx

SoniaShoe · 27/11/2015 09:36

Good luck with your 8 week scan jem let us know how it goes

Jem01 · 27/11/2015 10:20

Thanks Sonia and cheery - will do!
