I'm desperate to get my scan letter through. So far my sister knows (she lives abroad) and a couple that we are good friends with. We had quite a few things planned with them in the run up to Christmas so was easier to tell them.

We have DHs friend, his wife and their son staying over at the weekend. I'm pretty sure DH will tell them I don't think he can hold it in much longer.

I have opted for the nuchal scan thing to be done at the same time as regular scan and I know the lastest that can be done is 14 weeks. So the latest my scan date would be is the first week of new year.

7+6

gnat99 · 25/11/2015 12:57

Gosh girls, we are all so worried today! Big hugs again all round.

I am currently getting into a bit of a state as I have a pain like a stitch just above my bikini line, to the right side a bit. It's been there all morning. Am wondering whether to call EPU. We are going to Poland tomorrow for long weekend so can't really 'wait and see'.

Am I over-reacting? Advice welcome.

gnat99 · 25/11/2015 13:00

sorry, forgot to say 'please!'

lilygirl81 · 25/11/2015 13:05

gnat when I spoke to the EPU to get my early scan arranged, they were lovely and told me to call them for basically anything. I'd give them a call, especially as you are going to be away. If the pain is to one side, that is definitely something they will want to know about (not trying to scare you).

I have a sudden craving for hot chocolate, and I'm at work where there is none :( There is one of those dolce Gusto things that no one seems to use, does anyone have one and is the hot chocolate any good?

gnat99 · 25/11/2015 13:15

Thanks Lilygirl, I think I will ring them. I have no idea about dolce gusto I'm afraid - hope you get your hot chocolate fix somehow!

lilygirl81 · 25/11/2015 13:22

gnat DH will make me one when I get home, he is such a sweetheart! I've also ordered some pods so that next time the craving hits I can make one here Smile

Let us know how you get on

Fourormore · 25/11/2015 13:36

Gah, I can never keep up!

So sad to hear the losses on thread two Sad

Cravings a-go-go here. Yesterday was an omelette in a toasted sandwich. What on earth?!

The midwife stuff seems very late round here. The receptionist said they won't normally see woman til 12 weeks but I'm seeing them at 10 weeks because of Christmas. Not sure how the scan thing works?

I keep nearly telling people and then remembering that it's a secret Grin

Mordirig · 25/11/2015 13:38

Had a doctors appointment this morning, booked for a while before I knew I was pregnant as I've had recurrent thrush ( never had it before either ) and the canisten tablet/cream hasn't been helping much,, anyway, I did a urine sample, was + for blood and glucose, I've also lost about 20kg since May which was when I was last weighed at the doctors, I knew I'd lost a bit, but not that much.
Told her I was 5 weeks pregnant and already booked in for the MW on the 15th December, but she was so lovely she got the nurse to squeeze me in for my bloods to be taken then and there, luckily I hadn't had enough of an appetite to eat this morning so I could do a fasting Blood test.
Should get my results early next week, Dr was a concerned about the weight loss, think it may be Diabetes but obviously won't know until the results come back.
Made myself some HM chicken soup which went down well, going to try and cut out sugar, see if that helps.

gnat I would definitely call/go the EPU, otherwise it will be on your mind the whole weekend and completely ruin it hopefully for no good reason x

gnat99 · 25/11/2015 13:58

Well I phoned the EPU and the nurse said to take paracetamol every four hours and if it didn't go away to call again. She said it was probably stretching pains. I actually forgot to tell her it was only on one side (brain fog), but actually now it's started to spread to the left as well... so hopefully nothing major. If i wasn't pregnant I would think I'd overdone it at the gym and pulled some weird muscle.

Thanks for your advice, girls. I feel slightly less worried now that I've spoken to EPU. I suppose the main thing is to see if it continues.

Lily glad you've got the chocolate issue sorted!

Mordirig, sorry to hear about the weight loss/diabetes scare. Hope it's nothing as serious.

Jo6526 · 25/11/2015 14:09

Hi all,

Been thinking loads about elliejayjay really is making me think things could go wrong at anytime!

Not feeling great today, I still don't feel pregnant but feeling really dizzy today. I'm also 6 weeks today.

Got my appointments through 22nd for midwife and 8th jan for scan

Cheery1 · 25/11/2015 14:11

Gnat - glad you feel better after speaking to EPU. I had no idea about the crampy stretching pains before I got pregnant, apparently it is really normal. Scary all the same!
Mordirig - sounds like you've got a lovely GP so reckon you're in safe hands there. Hope everything is alright with the weight loss.
Also Ocado do a great hot choc (no sugar) in a squeezy bottle. Less guilt making! Can't remember the name but it's really tasty and all natural ingredients. Smile

Gnat as long as it's not doubling over , snatching your breath pain I think you're ok. I had lots of left sided pain to start and then right. It was sore and noticeable but not majorly painful. It lasted up until week 6 and I think was stretching. I had it last time too.

Indians I keep burping and trumping. So lady like. I keep apologising to DH as I'm so embarrassed. The joys of pregnancy.

Cookiesandcoffee · 25/11/2015 14:55

I'm glad you feel better after speaking to the EPU gnat but keep an eye on it. I had similar pains earlier that really did hurt, but they seem to have passed now. I thought I was done as haven't had any for about 2 1/2 weeks.
lily I have the chocolate pods for the dolce! I get them for dd when I'm having coffee as a special treat. I've stolen one or two- yummy. Ha about your dogs blanket! I love a home made blanket. Once the real nesting hormones hit you'll probably just want to make loads!
fourormore that does seem quite late - maybe your hospital is efficient at getting you booked in? Ours takes um a while!!

Good luck with your test results mord do keep us posted.

beautitian/indians I'm so full of wind too! I feel repulsive! I'm sure I lose my 'belly' by morning so goodness knows what DH endures In the night Confused
jo that's exciting about your dates! Must feel so nice to have them to look forward to, hope it doesn't feel like too long!

BearStuff · 25/11/2015 14:55

h... I must be pregnant... All the creepy food cravings are coming out of the woodworks... Ham hock? Taramasalata on toast?!
Someone mentioned Dr. Karg's pumpkin seed and cheese crackers- these things are AMAZING. Especially if you put some hummus on them... I've been feeling sick for about a week now, but it generally goes away once I eat (although I have to force myself to eat as the sickness makes me not want to eat Hmm ).
I've got a private scan booked for the 11th but it seems an age away! And I should probably book my midwife appointment... You ladies have shamed me into doing it.

Really really sorry for everyone who has suffered a loss recently. Thinking of you all and hope you're able to put your feet up and are being looked after Flowers

BearStuff · 25/11/2015 15:01

Have also had quite a lot of stretchy (or crampy) pains which have been troubling me as never had anything at all the first time around. All quiet today but there is just so much more worry this time.

lilygirl81 · 25/11/2015 15:07

Bear I have been having cramps every day since about 5 dpo, I said to DH that I hoped they were just things stretching but was more likely a killer AF ramping up...I was so happy to be wrong! Seriously, why do you never get told that the first few weeks of pregnancy are this uncomfortable and 'unladylike'. I burped in front of DH this morning, which I never do, so embarrassing. He's been laughing at me as I've had knickers on in bed, had to explain they were poop pants just in case of an unfortunate night time fart Blush I need to say that's not actually happened, but I'm paranoid since I have no clue what my body is doing.

Cookiesandcoffee · 25/11/2015 15:21

lily I wish there was a crying laughing emoji on MN!!

Bluebell20 · 25/11/2015 15:35

Gnat and Mord, hope you get on okay.

Indians I am burping more than normal too - it relieves the nausea a bit so I don't mind too much!

Bear it was me with the Dr Karg's crackers - they are a dream, aren't they?!

I keep having waves of nausea today. Not major, but enough to be disruptive to the work I'm trying to do! Keep ending up in bed until it passes - ridiculous!

jemimahpuddleduck · 25/11/2015 15:35

Bear I think I need the pumpkin seed and cheese crackers in my life where are they from?

I feel so much more windy at work than at home, I think its down to being sat scrunched behind a desk all day. Think I may go for a walk shortly to try and help! Blush

Bluebell20 · 25/11/2015 15:38

jemimah they definitely do them in Sainsbury's. They are large and rectangular and come in clear wrapping, in packets of 8. Quite pricey at £2 a pack, but you can break them up into chunks to make them last!

crazycatlady39 · 25/11/2015 15:53

My cramps are a little bit milder this week - last week they were strong enough that if they were period pains I'd have taken a nurofen. Starting to feel a little bit queasy but not sure if that's just in my head! Also affected by the sad news on the last thread, especially since I had some brown discharge / small clots on Monday morning and a bit more Monday evening. Nothing since and so I just keep trying to remember (as we all should) that our bodies are doing very strange things and it's impossible for us to know exactly what's going on. However, it's easy to say that, much less easy not to worry! No cravings but not really fancying certain foods. Gym class yesterday wiped me out more than normal - even just walking up stairs makes my legs burn! I will definitely pay for an early scan to set my mind at rest before Christmas (will be 10 weeks) and we will hopefully feel confident enough to tell family on Christmas day ...

Vickie360 · 25/11/2015 16:00

Hi everyone I've had my scan and everything is perfect there was even a little heartbeat I'm so relieved I will try and post a photo of the scan. Thank you to everyone for the good luck messages xx

lilygirl81 · 25/11/2015 16:07

Vickie that is great news, sorry, I can't remember, but how far along are you?
