P.s. I'm getting that stretchy achy feeling on and off - think it's normal. It's like period pain as it comes with back ache too. Still really sore boobs too, they keep getting bigger as well!

Cheery1 · 02/12/2015 19:26

Mord - sorry to hear you struggling. Getting some kind of care plan sounds like a great idea. Also if you're cutting carbs try "get the glow" Cook book - lots of low carb, no sugar recipes, delicious too. X

Kaytee1987 · 02/12/2015 19:26

God cheery I hope mine don't get any bigger, they're ridiculous as it is Shock

gnat99 · 02/12/2015 19:48

Hi all, sympathies to those with aches and pains today. And cravings! I really haven't had any cravings yet, any more than normal at least.

I am feeling quite miserable this week as I have a cold-type thing with earache, sore throat and chesty cough. Feel so gunky and vile! Seems so unfair when I'm already so tired and achey and nauseous. At least when we have friends visiting this weekend I can blame all my tiredness & patheticness on my cold.

Beautician, I have had achey feelings quite low as well, and a pain like a stitch, and sore legs. And definitely back pain too - can't remember who asked about that. And my boobs are still really tender, heavy and bigger. Haven't noticed veins but nipples are sticking out a lot. Isn't it fascinating how our bodies are reacting to something 7 or 8 months away??!

What is spd?

I am far too anxious and superstitious to think about names yet - will allow myself to start that in January maybe! Like some other posters, our last name is quite short. So it does mean longer first names I think. Might help to narrow it down a bit Wink

Blood tests tomorrow, must make sure to drink lots of water.

Ha! Kaytee - mine were pretty small to start with! Alas my bum is also expanding and that was big enough already!

gnat - I'm with you on being superstitious thinking about names. Hope your tests go ok tomorrow xx

Had to buy my first maternity bra. Went from a 34DD to a 36E overnight. All I can think is if they're this big at 6 weeks, how am I going to walk come 9 months?!

Cheery1 · 02/12/2015 21:02

Pulpi - I bought 2 new non-wired bras last week and now they're too smallXmas Shock

mascaraisamust · 02/12/2015 21:03

I could do with a new bra not sure where to look or what size I am now!

Mordirig · 02/12/2015 21:10

Loki I actually had a phone call today after my dinner out, it was the midwife from my surgery, I've never met her but all she asked was if I was on medication for the GD I had 8 years ago and who treated me Hmm I was dumbfounded, how on earth does she expect me to remember that?!
I told her it was controlled with diet and then she checked to see if I had made a booking appointment Hmm ? shouldn't they know this, it surely should be on their records?!
I informed her that yes, I have a booking appointment on the 15th, that I will see the GP and take my weeks worth of readings for him to look at and she said I would be referred to consultant care after my booking appointment, that was it, she hung up before I could ask her about my high readings :S
My levels came down a little ( in the 10s) but 2 hours after the steak and salad it went to 11.1mmol/l again, I suppose even though the readings are high it is sort of good to see they don't spike a lot, its quite even, so I'm hoping maybe I've just got lots of 'left over' sugar in my system from 2 days ago and it will come down in the next few days.
If I get similar readings tomorrow then I'm definitely phoning the surgery.

The thing is, the only 'carbs' I've had today is the one slice of toast, any other carbs have come from salad and veggies, I've not had any sugar in my coffee and I've had sugar free drinks which is what Diabietes.org.uk recommends.
I was in tescos when the MW phoned me so I stocked up on fish, seafood 2 steaks for £6, stir fry veg without the noodles, steam bags of veggies and some low sugar beans.

I really want to control this with diet, I didn't even bat an eyelid walking past the cream cakes and pastries today, I don't care about that I just want to be healthy.

gnat99 · 02/12/2015 21:11

I definitely need a new bra too! Maybe I'll go to M & S tomorrow. Although I am finding shopping very stressful at the moment, between the lightheadedness and the mushy brain.

gnat99 · 02/12/2015 21:20

Sorry Mordirig, sounds like your day has been quite stressful! You seem to have things in hand though, and it's true that the even numbers are probably better than huge peaks and troughs.... so prob best to keep going as you are until the booking appointment and hope in the meantime that you'll be referred to someone who can advise you!

Chin up.

Kaytee1987 · 02/12/2015 21:43

Mordirig sounds like a rubbish day, you really sound like you're doing well with the food etc. Sorry if that sounds patronising (?) It's just I think I would be moaning about not being able to eat what I want so I am genuinely impressed. God I didn't even want to give up my diet coke x

Mordirig · 02/12/2015 21:47

Chins up you mean gnat Grin I've chilled out now, had a cup of chamomile tea Brew and I'm nearly ready for bed.

I know how you feel about shopping though, they should make an attachable plough for pregnant ladies to part the crowds like Moses!

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 02/12/2015 21:49

Gnat www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/pages/pelvic-pain-pregnant-spd.aspx

I really hope it's not this but deep down I know it is.

Mord I'm sure you will get it under control.

I still have sore boobs. It hurts when I lie on them in bed. It's difficult as I'm a tummy sleeper.

Mordirig · 02/12/2015 21:53

Thank you Kaytee believe me in my first pregnancy I ate whatever I liked until my diabetes test (28 weeks) and even though I managed to control it with my diet I didn't have to be as strict as I am now, I suppose that's my age showing :S
In my second I had a bacon roll and a can of pop every morning from the shop opposite where I worked, it called to me in my dreams I just had to have it Smile so I have indulged before, I'm paying for it now and unfortunately so is the baby which makes me feel like crap so I'm going to do all and anything to set it as right as I can since that's all I can do now.

wantingno2 · 02/12/2015 22:42

Hey ladies

Well I've had an exceptionally shit day to say the least found out today we are being evicted as the landlord wants to sell the flat so now I have two months to find somewhere else my and the other half have been arguing all day so now I've ended up staying at my mums house for the night and I have my scan tomorrow not sure if he's coming or not so bloody stressed today I've got the world's smallest violin out haha

Cheery1 · 02/12/2015 23:05

redstrawberries101 · 03/12/2015 06:33

Morning everyone

I'm so distraught about Syria and kept thinking of all the innocent people all night that will get killed :(

How are we all today? Starting work at 8 so up for a shower. M

I had a look at the maternity range and silly question, do I buy my normal size?

For sickness bands, I had a look in boots but they looked so ugly!

Loki17 · 03/12/2015 06:43

I'm distraught about Syria too. I hate this world sometimes. You do buy your normal size Mel, I can't wait to have my scan so that I can buy maternity clothes.

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 03/12/2015 07:38

Wanting sorry you had such a rubbish day. We have had bad luck with properties too. We moved 3 weeks before I had ds3 and he has now lived in 4 different houses. He's only two. It's hard renting especially when we are going to have four. We are saving a house deposit. I'm not sure we will ever afford to buy but I hope so.

I'm off today so I'm going to try and get some of the Christmas wrapping done. There is loads.

Feel like I've reached another milestone as the weeks pass. Just need that scan date now.

Morning ladies, beauticiannotmagician** I also had spd last time and think it's started already. It scares me too. last time it mysteriously got better towrds the last trimester. No idea why. I used a support belt which really helped. Gutted it seems to be starting so early. Sad

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken · 03/12/2015 07:45

wanting sorry to hear you're having such a rubbish time of it. Moving is so stressful (especially when it's not your choice) Your OH probably just feels the stress of having to "provide for a family" the prospect of losing your home challenges this and he reacted angrily. He'll probably come skulking back this morning in time for the scan. No way he would want to miss the first look at your little bean. Keeping my fingers crossed that both our scans go well today and it's good news. Had an anxiety attack about it all this morning. Woke up with tight feeling in my chest couldn't breathe was a bit scary but thankfully with the help of a meditation app have calmed down now. Que Serra Serra! Thanks
