Thanks everyone :)

I'm due on 19th July - a couple of days before my anniversary!

I was a bit scared to post on the first couple of threads due to having a mc a couple of months ago but here I am Smile

gnat99 · 01/12/2015 14:25

Cookies, that's great news! Sorry about the cyst but at least it explains the pain - is there anything they can do?

Pulpi, congrats on reaching 6 wks!

Moss, welcome, I empathise with your paranoia, I'm the same.

Kajamite, I'm also due 2 days before my first wedding anniversary! On 9th July. Although I presume date will probably change when I have the scan.

Ellizardo · 01/12/2015 14:37

Mord - agave nectar and good alt to sugar in porridge and / or grating an apple in skin and all with cinnamon is good too! Sugar free almond milk also adds good flavour. Good luck.

Ellizardo · 01/12/2015 14:51

Errr sorry, my porridge suggestions are old hat! Phone didn't upload latest posts for some reason!

Ellizardo · 01/12/2015 14:55

Feline - when you say you're struggling to get appt, what do you mean? No one calling you back or where to start? GP good first port of call or self refer to your local hospital (info usually in their website)...then a booking appt (between 8-10 weeks) and 12 week scan appt are usually booked for you at the same time.

Cookiesandcoffee · 01/12/2015 15:49

Totally forgot to add my tips on porridge but I think you've covered them! I use unsweetened almond milk, gluten free oats and a handful of almonds/ground hazelnuts and a sprinkling of cinnamon. It's been a good go-to in the mornings but I have to admit I often put agave nectar in mine , I don't know if it's OK for diabetics? Agree with gnat with the hidden sugars in fat free yog. As a rule of thumb I stay away from 'fat free' as I just think about the c**p a lot of them will have in it to compensate. And usually lots of hidden sugar. This is why it takes me forever to complete a food shop - I'm reading label after label!

The sonographer just wrote my details on a document and I've got to speak to them when I go for my 12 week scan. Still no date through. Angry

Sorry welcome moss and kajamite ChocolateCake

mossandfern · 01/12/2015 15:58

gnat its horrible but really glad I'm not the only one :) Thanks for the solidarity!

MissClarke86 · 01/12/2015 17:27

Pulpi I'm 6 weeks today too! (Still predicting loosely though...)

NicolaM84 · 01/12/2015 17:36

Hi everyone, I've not posted since we were on the first thread.
I'm sorry to bring the mood down but i'm really struggling with sickness. Doctor diagnosed me with hyperemesis gravidarum yesterday and prescribed anti sickness tablets, I can't imagine feeling this ill for the next 7 months.
Has anyone else had any experince of this?

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 01/12/2015 17:37

Ugh - I've been on a training course today and had to get quite a long bus journey to get there. Normally I'm very lucky and can walk to work - I appreciate this even more now as I was sick as a dog when I arrived there this morning and again when I got home! Have also been particularly nauseous today!

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 01/12/2015 17:39

Cross posted Nicola - I feel a bit bad for moaning now! I've been lucky that my morning sickness hasn't been all that bad at all, and I've still found it horrible, so although I have no experience of hyperemesis I have every sympathy - it must be really dreadful. Hopefully the meds will help a bit.

SoniaShoe · 01/12/2015 17:52

I can sympathise with your journey youandme as I have a long train commute which I feel sick on most of the way in the morning.

Welcome back nicola but sorry to hear about your hg. I don't have experience of it but there are a couple of people on this thread who have it. Is it for the whole pregnancy then and not just the first trimester? I hope it gets better for you.

I'm so inspired by the porridge talk. I need to plan healthier breakfasts and I like the sound of those.

pulpi · 01/12/2015 17:54

Oh Nicola, that sounds awful. I've not ever had hyperemesis gravidarum, but my Canadian cousin is dealing with it at the moment. The medication was a lifesaver and she's going to start weaning off of it this weekend as she's at the end of her first trimester.

RoseInWonderland · 01/12/2015 18:09

Hi all, I posted on the #2 thread but went away for a few days and it's taken me about a week to catch up!

I was having some problems with bleeding, so had a scan last week (that's 3 scans I've had so far) and baby is fine. And the bleeding has stopped now. I'm still on edge due to a previous miscarriage but starting to let myself get a little bit excited now Smile

Nicola I was diagnosed with hg about 8 weeks into my first pregnancy (twins - double hormones, double sickness!). It pretty much disappeared after 13/14 weeks though. I know that seems a long way off right now! I just ate what I could when I could and made sure I was drinking enough water. I lost a stone during the first trimester but my two were born perfectly fine and healthy. The doctor always said the babies will get what they need, it's you that will suffer! I wasn't prescribed any anti-sickness tablets though so can't comment on those sorry. I'm 8 +3 now and really struggling with sickness again. I can't even look at the fridge without being sick! I'm hoping it will pass quite quickly this time too.

Anyone else on their 2nd+ pregnancy and already huge? I look massive! I'm about the same size I was at about 4 months with my girls. It's impossible to hide. And I can't fit in any of my clothes!

beckslovestimmy · 01/12/2015 18:16

Hi Nicola,
I'm in the same boat as you. I was nearly admitted to hospital at 6 weeks due to severe dehydration.

I'm on prochlorperazine and have been for 4 weeks. They really help and I found it took nearly a week for the tabs to fully get into my system. I'm now able to eat and drink reasonably normally although I am having a lot of carbs.

In my first pregnancy the sickness started to improve at around 16 weeks and I was off tabs completely by about 20 weeks and felt normal again. This time around I will start to wean tabs from about 14 weeks and see how I go.

Things that help are eating as soon as I get up, and small regular meals throughout the day. Worst time for me is teatime but I can still cook and eat.

crazycatlady39 · 01/12/2015 18:29

Thanks everyone for info about telling work. Sorry to hear people are poorly. I am having waves of nausea at any time, but tends to be when I am walking around rather than sitting still. The idea of some foods turns my stomach, but generally when I eat I am ok. I haven't been vomiting, although I do have a cast iron stomach. My kitchen is being renovated at the moment and we have dust, mess, rubbish everywhere and it's doing my head in. Am sure it's making me feel worse. I have huge sympathy for people suffering more than me, I feel bad but feel I have got off lightly compared to some of you.

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 01/12/2015 18:32

Cheery I would get serious tummy cramp if I had to hold my trumps an entire train journey Grin

Pulpi so sorry to see about your friend passing. So sad.

Woodsy glad you had a nice scan & another booked soon too. Yay.

Gnat I'm feeling a little better. A the Christmas planning is taking my mind off the fact I feel sick all the time.

I'm not a porridge lover my breakfast of the week is shredded wheat honey & nut. Yum.

Cookie such a great scan photo.

Kaja I'm due the day before DHs birthday.
*
Rose* I'm showing a bit now. I had a tummy anyway but now it's a lot harder. I'm on my fourth so I expect to show quite quickly.

I'm so over work. I hate the way the lady I rent from speaks to me. She wants me to stand in her salon all day introducing myself to the hair clients. I get it I really do. But I feel uncomfortable with forcing my treatments on people plus I feel like rubbish all the time at the moment.

I'm so desperate to get my scan date. I've a feeling it will be after Christmas now as I'm only 12 weeks on Christmas Eve. I've a feeling we will end up having to book a private scan.

mascaraisamust · 01/12/2015 18:37

Hi all, hope you're all ok.

Had an early scan today after the sharp cramps at the weekend and a little heartbeat was seen flicking away. The sonographer said a few days earlier and she probably wouldn't have seen anything by ultrasound. Only a few mm.

And newsflash, I was sick today!!

Loki17 · 01/12/2015 18:47

Congratulations on that awesome Scan photo cookie! Thanks to all who sympathised with my sickness. I have to say, reading about those of you with HG makes me realise that I need to quit my moaning! I found out about my pregnancy a month ago tomorrow. I can't quite believe that I've managed to keep it a secret for a whole month! My booking appointment is next Monday when ill be 8+3. It feels like such a milestone to get to. I know that sounds crazy but I just can't wait.

Kaytee1987 · 01/12/2015 19:00

Feel really sorry for those with HG, that sounds awful :(
Hope everyone's having an ok week, I'm totally exhausted - think I might go to bed in the next hour.
I ate 3 cookies today, totally disgusted with myself Blush

Loki my booking in appointment is Monday too Wink

BelOfTheBall79 · 01/12/2015 19:45

Hi all, just checking in after a weekend away. Just been reading through the posts from the days I missed - too much to mention but great to hear of positive scan news for many of you, and welcome to the newbies too.

I had my booking appt today, was a bit underwhelmed to be honest. The midwife was v nice but she didn't seem as slick as I though she might, she kept saying "oh have I mentioned this" which she definitely hadn't! DH came too though and he said he thought she was fine. I guess I am just a paranoid mother to be wanting to know I am getting the best for my little bean!

We're on hols for a couple of weeks, we were meant to be going abroad but given it has taken two years to conceive we didn't want to take any chances, so are staying in the UK. Had a lovely afternoon out until we got home and I promptly vommed! Lovely. Actually the first time I have been properly sick (I have nausea all the time and have been doing lots of wretching, DH is calling it my "bullfrog impressions"). But now in bed feeling a bit sorry for myself! Although I have seen that others of you are being sick far more often, so I really feel for you! Here's hoping we all lose these sickness feelings as we near the end of the first trimester. Although everyone keeps telling me that these symptoms are a good sign!

I saw all the name chat too. So exciting. We have lots of ideas for girls but hardly any ideas for boys. We have a short surname so ideally need names that are two or more syllables, which makes it harder. Plus lots of my friends have already had children so lots of the names I like have been 'taken' already!

Cookiesandcoffee · 01/12/2015 19:58

Really sorry to hear those are feeling so sick. I am thankful every day that I'm not actually sick. Really hope once we get to the 12 week mark you guys get an easier time. I can't imagine what you're going through.
Welcome flossysmummy !! And congratulations!
Great news mascara so lovely to see that heartbeat.
