That's news Woodsy brought a tear to my eye that story!

Mord sorry to hear about the diagnosis. At least its been caught early and you'll now be under the care of a consultant. A friend's sister had a similar thing and she had to have scans every 2 weeks to ensure everything was ok but in the end all was absolutely fine so try not to worry.

Woodsy - I'm over the moon for you! Great news. Now you can put your feet up and relax Smile

Hi Vicky - how lovely to have a date buddy!

Mord - sorry to hear about your diabetes. There are so many low GI/low sugar cook books now though so hopefully you'll be able to find ways to manage it. Rubbish for you though xxxx

Cheery1 · 30/11/2015 18:43

Pulpi - so sorry to hear your news, you must be heartbroken x

Cookiesandcoffee · 30/11/2015 19:09

Really sad news pulpi I hope you have some support from those around you. Sad at any time but I feel these pregnancy hormones make things harder to deal with
How lovely woodsey so nice to hear such lovely news. So happy for you.
mordig at least it's finally been diagnosed. I'm sure they will look after you well. And hopefully you can control it. Loads of good recipes out there these days so you can still have yummy things
gnat oh my goodness that sounds absolutely horrible! How traumatic for you both. I was fortunate to be fine. Hope you both weren't too traumatised
wanting and allthegood good luck for your scans! After being in pain all weekend and most of last week I caved and booked an early scan for tomorrow. Fingers crossed. Probably won't sleep tonight!

Know and I can tell them why!! I feel useless!

SoniaShoe · 30/11/2015 19:13

Evening

I got my scan date through at the weekend and its not until 23 December. I'm a bit disappointed as I was hoping to have it the week before as I've got Xmas parties from 17th onwards and seeing friends that weekend so was hoping to tell everyone. In fact I've got a party in 22nd it will be really hard to get away not drinking at so the timing sucks. Its making me consider getting a private one then I can go public in time for all these parties. It will make them more fun that's for sure. Surely I'll save the £500 from not spending on booze over 5 separate social occasions? Right?

crazycatlady39 · 30/11/2015 19:15

Sorry to hear your news pulpi and mord - an especially tough time to get unhappy news.

I am 6+2 and feeling sick started this week but I haven't been sick. Cramps have been getting better every day and barely had them today (although it makes me worry: should I have them still?!). Very sore boobs still and very sensitive sense of smell, which is horrendous as we're doing a kitchen renovation and there is dust and mess everywhere and I think it stinks.

I don't plan to tell my work until new year, I must by 15 weeks but I'd prefer to leave it as long as I can. Not sure how best to get through boozy nights without drinking ... feels like it's going to be a long party season!

SoniaShoe · 30/11/2015 19:20

Pulpi I'm sorry to hear your news. And mord*, sorry to hear about your diagnosis. You both sound like you're dealing with these additional things really well. As if you haven't got enough to deal with.

Good luck with the early scans. I was nervous for mine too so I know how you feel.

wantingno2 · 30/11/2015 19:46

allthegood my scan is at 11.40 I'm so bloody nervous I don't have a great track record so can't help but get nervous trying to take my mind of things just went and bought a new pram for my son strangely spending money is the only thing that takes my mind off of everything haha I will be skint by the time I have my scan lol good luck to everyone with scan's also x

Kaytee1987 · 30/11/2015 20:00

Crazycatlady why do you have to tell your work by 15 weeks? The law states that you only have to tell your work 15 weeks before the week of expected delivery xx

Rolly64 · 30/11/2015 20:06

Thank you everyone 😄
So sorry Pulpi, it's such a horrible loss escpecially when it's so unexpected.
I really struggled today in all my meetings think my brain may be turning to mush already!

crazycatlady39 · 30/11/2015 20:20

Hey kaytee I checked my staff handbook and it said to tell them by 15 weeks. Maybe I read it wrong but I thought it was 15 weeks after finding out, not 15 weeks before birth. I'll plan to tell them in the new year but only when I am ready and we've had the 12 week scan etc.

CultureSucksDownWords · 30/11/2015 20:43

Crazycatlady, this guidance from the gov.uk website is clear that you have to tell your employer at least 15 weeks before your due date, not by 15 weeks pregnant:

www.gov.uk/maternity-pay-leave/how-to-claim

There's no rush to tell them.

Cookiesandcoffee · 30/11/2015 20:47

I'm getting pregnancy rage that my Netflix isn't working. I'm aware I probably need to get a grip but it's all I've been looking forward to after a really long day at work and putting dds to be etc Angry

sonia part of my justification was the money I would spend in December on going out and a new dress etc was more than a scan! What gestation did you have your early scan? Are you just superstitious that you want another nearer to 12 weeks?
8+0

Gx91 · 30/11/2015 21:03

Cookies I hate I when Netflix plays up ! U r allowed to rage lol signing out and in again usually works for me X
I keep having waves of anxiety , not really about the pregnancy , just a horrible feeling I can't shake , my chest getting all tight and having to breathe if out , anyone else having this ? Probs can blame the hormones again wish it would pass x

Loki17 · 30/11/2015 22:14

Sorry to hear of your sad news Pulpi and about your diabetes diagnosis Mord. Hope you are both being looked after. I actually threw up today. First thing this morning the wrenching was so bad I bought up bile and then I lost a bit of my lunch at about half three. After no sickness at all with dd, the nausea and dry wrenching have been a shock. I've had little bits of sick this time but today was something else. I also have one boob in agony and the other feels fine! seems crazy! I'm so glad I have all of you to talk too. I'm 7 + 2, have known for a month on Wednesday but haven't told anyone except for dh. DH'S standard response to my pukey updates are 'mmmm' and 'that's a shame'. I'm so glad that I have this place to let out all of my crazy!Grin

Stickyjellybean · 30/11/2015 22:20

Pulp, that's awful news, hope you're feeling ok.

I went for an early scan the other day (private as I woke up with a feeling there was something wrong). They measured me at 6 weeks (meant to be 8-9) and couldn't see a heartbeat. I don't think my dates could be wrong as if it's measuring 6 weeks that means 4 weeks from conception right? And that means we got our bfp before we conceived...
Booked in at EPU tomorrow for another scan but pretty sure it's not good news :( I'm really hoping that there's some mistake and tomorrow goes well but I think deep down I know that's not going to happen.

Don't mean to bring a downer, I hope I'm back tomorrow still in the July club!

Cheery1 · 30/11/2015 22:47

sticky - really hope you get good news tomorrow. Keeping everything crossed for you. Xxxx

Hope all is well today sticky. Thanks
Welcome Kajamite.

Pregnancy insomnia strikes again. Got IBS pains I keep mistaking for cramps which is frightening me cause I am still spotting. Midwife yesterday did say IBS will be worse in pregnancy. Normally for me any tenderness is gone the day after any major pain but not this time. Bleh. Maybe will just get up and make tea.Brew

Woodsy81 · 01/12/2015 05:55

Just thought I could really go a big bowl of coco pops......we don't have any coco pops. Sad Co-op opens at 7am though. Grin

pulpi · 01/12/2015 07:48

Thanks for the support, ladies! After work DH and I had a good long snuggle. We're still not sure what happened, just that it was very sudden.
