Morning everyone, hope you are all ok and I'm pleased for those who have had scans and got to see their little one! Yesterday I had stomach pain, groin and back pain, worried it's starting this early or that some thing is wrong. it's a bit better today, taking paracetamol and hoping for the best! I still don't know what to do about telling work. I work in an inpatient mental health unit so there are risks involved and I wouldn't be able to use physical restraint if required. Also I run shifts so it's important that I am fully functioning! It just seems so early to tell work but I think I might have too. Anyone else decided what to do?

Morning all, got back from Gdansk late last night, so tired! Have just spent ages catching up on all your news since Thursday, thanks for all the scan news and big hugs to all of you feeling rubbish!

Cookies I think it was you who said you flew around the same time before and felt sick on plane? Well I managed to faint on Thursday flight, felt it coming on but couldn't prevent it. Was out cold on the floor about 40 mins into a 2hr flight. Classy. DH was really worried, and even tho we had a lovely few days with our friends, we were both secretly nervous about the return flight. But I was fine one that luckily, just really anxious.

Decided to tell friends on the second day so they wouldn't think I was being rude at the family dinners they invited us to with their parents. I was constantly turning down all the drinks and needing snacks in between meals etc. They were delighted for us, but unfortunately we discovered that they are about to have their second round of IVF. Felt bad, we knew they were TTC but didn't realise it had been for so long, or that they'd had such trouble.

Other than that, the nausea & tiredness and the weird stitch-pain I keep getting, we had a great time. It was nice to get away and not have to think about real life for a few days Smile

Welcome Rolly64! I got the flu jab from GP at 5 weeks, my arm ached and I felt a bit tired after it but I was tired anyway, so couldn't really tell if it was due to jab. I get the jab every year as I have asthma, some years it does wipe me out for a day or two. Can never predict unfortunately. Let us know how you get on.

Morning all!

Booking in appointment went very well yesterday. She didn't bat an eyelid about how close together the pregnancies were which was great.

We also decided that will have Harmony test and viability scan at ten weeks (14 Dec) at Fetal Medicine Centre - this will reassure us hopefully that baby (singular, I hope!) is well and also we can find out the sex before Xmas. It's £400 well spent imo. Last time it was pretty nerve-wracking to have such a high risk for Downs and I'm assuming the risk will only get higher as I'm 18 months older now etc.

Rolly - having flu jab on Wed. Had it last year and arm was a bit sore but no flu symptoms...however, others have come down with 'mini flu' after it so best prepare yourself. Maybe do it at the end of the week?

Mordirig - how many are you catering for? Goose is good - very rich and 'special' - but doesn't exactly feed the 5000 and is £. A good light alternative is a whole poached salmon or trout...load up with veggies on the side!

Ellizardo · 30/11/2015 10:19

gnat99 - Really pleased to hear Gdansk was a success. How amazing and exotic! Was it freezing? Sorry to hear about your fainting, that must have been horrible for your OH - it's never like the movies is it? Less of a delicate moan and more of a solid thud in my experience. Hope all well now.

Vikkijayne2507 · 30/11/2015 10:25

youandmearegointofsllout yeah that would piss me off as well luckily my mother doesnt nag at all, mil on other hand has her moments and interference with ds somhoping i can nip it quicker in the budnwith dc2.

So tired all the time only occasional neausea after my week long illness scan on 21st and bloods on 14th so hoping itll feel more real

SunnyScot89 · 30/11/2015 11:13

Ugh... I feel awful this morning!! Finding it really difficult to reason with myself that it'll all be worth it in the end. Blugh... just wish I could be at home in bed!!! Got my early scan next week. counting down the hours and praying everything will be ok.
hope you've all had a good weekend.

Hey everyone sorry I've not been around much been feeling so tired and sick feeling this shitty is hard when I have a toddler to luck after. so nervous about my scan on thursday just can't help feeling like something will go wrong xx

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 30/11/2015 11:19

Mel sorry the Nandos wasn't as good as you expected. I've never been to Nandos. Egg & salad cream sandwiches are my go to at the moment.

Anders I feel festive but I don't feel well enough or have enough energy to think about getting the tree done yet.

DH has bought me a posh camera for Christmas. We got it in the Black Friday sales. I can't wait to use it. I always want better pictures of the children. If I'm any good at it I might start doing baby photography as a new business. I'll have a newborn to practice on Grin

Rolly I had my flu jab a couple of weeks ago. Ds3 was having the flu spray. I mentioned my jab to the nurse and she did it there and then. I had no side affects at all. Just a sore arm. You shouldn't get any symptoms from the jab it's only the spray thats the live virus.

Mord we will have a turkey crown and pork for Christmas. It's just us this year so we can have whatever we want without trying to please anyone.

Still nauseous all the time and tired. My windy bottom is getting embarrassing I can't stop trumping.

I keep running every time the post arrives. Anyone else desperate to have their scan date Grin

beckslovestimmy · 30/11/2015 11:34

I had the second part of my booking appointment today. All the paperwork done and booked into the low risk birthing unit (I couldn't use this last time due to high BP). Met the midwife who should be the one I see throughout and she was lovely. Waiting for our scan 2weeks today!!! then 16 week midwife appointment just after DD's birthday early January. Can't wait!

Lovely to see the early scans and those tiny little beans.

Sorry to hear some of you are feeling so rubbish. My hyperemesis is now reasonably controlled with my meds but I've woken up with a horrible cold this morning and sinus pain Sad

Loving the talk of Christmas dinner. We're going to my mums this year and will have turkey, gammon and slow cooked beef. Yum!

Cheery1 · 30/11/2015 11:42

Beautician - that just made laugh out loud! I know the feeling. It's awful being on the tube and having to hold it in, really uncomfortable but can't risk a loud trump on a crowded underground train! Hehehehe! Grin

Ooooo all this talk of Christmas is making me feel very festive [santa]. We've booked a private dating scan on 19th, as still not even seen my GP to book NHS scan. We had an early reassurance scan at 6wks but that seems like ages ago now. I do realise I'm very lucky to have had that - we saw a tiny bean and heartbeat all in the right place - but I'm still anxious because of mc in April. Keeping everything crossed that we get an early Xmas present on 19th and all is well.

Happy Monday ladies! xxx

Becky that christmas lunch sounds amazing! We're off to my lovely but bonkers cousin's and I'm not even sure she'll have a kitchen as she's in midst of building work - we might be on crackers and cheese!

smallplainblonde · 30/11/2015 12:12

Hi ladies,

I had a lovely relaxing weekend away for my husband's birthday. Was feeling a bit nauseous but nothing too bad.

I couldn't go into work this morning though as I am so sick today. I am logged on from home but obviously I can't get away with this every day. I can't even keep dry crackers down.

I'm only 7+5 but I'm nearly tempted to tell my boss if this keeps up as I'm going to struggle Sad

All these Christmas dinners sound lovely. I'm going to try and get all my shopping done this weekend.

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken · 30/11/2015 13:43

wanting I've also got my early scan on Thursday and absolutely bricking it. I soooo want it all to be ok but you read so many stories about all the things that could go wrong its scary. Lets both try and stay positive and hold each other's hand until then. I read somewhere that 80% of all pregnancies progress until the end successfully so the odds are in our favour! What time is your appointment?

OP posts:
Kaytee1987 · 30/11/2015 14:55

My booking in appointment is at 10am on a week day obviously so I'm basically going to be out of the office all morning. Im just about to email my boss and say I have a hospital appointment that morning and hope to be in around lunchtime, do you think that's enough detail (he's on the other side of the world anyway so would never know if I'm in the office or not) I have 2 people in my team so not really sure what to say to them Confused
Emphasising with those with morning sickness, have felt very sick for the past hour or so today.

Oh my word. A friend of ours passed very suddenly this weekend in an accident. Am devastated, but pregnancy hormones meant I near burst into tears at my desk. My boss was a star about it though.

Mordirig · 30/11/2015 15:56

I am so upset with myself, had a phone call from my GP a little while ago, turns out that I'm diabetic and it looks like I have been for a while now especially considering my weight loss.
They've concluded it started before pregnancy so its not gestational this time ( had that with my first pg )this is all on me and my crappy diet, although I've not been eating much for months just drinking loads of squash, diet sodas, tea etc.
She's going to refer me to the Hospital for treatment during the pregnancy and I'm picking up my own test kit tomorrow, they may want me to bring forward my booking apt, not sure why if I'm being seen by the Hospital but I guess I will wait and see.

Thank you all for the suggestions, Think I'll try a spiced ham and a goose if DH is up for it, otherwise I'll get a nice organic corn fed chicken.
Totally unexcited about food right now though, complete 180 from yesterday when I was meal planning for the Christmas week.

Someone tell a joke, funny story, anything, I need to cheer up.

Jem01 · 30/11/2015 16:03

My scan went well on
Friday didn't get a photo (forgot to ask!) booked in one before Xmas on 21st so we can tell family then.

gnat99- sorry to hear about your fainting, hope you are feeling better now? And sorry to hear some of you have been feeling poorly, hope you all feel better soon.

Rolly- I had flu jab when I was about 5 weeks. Arm felt painful the next day but other than that I was fine.

Kaytee1987 - my booking appt is also a week today I've also got a dentist appt too so will try and work from home that day.

Jo6526 - I'm going to tell work at the end of Feb so about 20 (or so) weeks too. Really hoping I can hide it until then. Been Googling "best ways to conceal bump at work" loads but not the greatest tips out there. If anyone has any please share!

All this talk of yummy Christmas lunches is making me feel very festive and hungry!! Really looking forward to Christmas this year. I'll be exactly 12 weeks can't believe how quickly the time is flying by!

Gx91 · 30/11/2015 16:07

Pulpi- sorry to hear the sad news that is tragic Sad I hope ur managing to cope with everything Flowers

Mordirig- hope ur ok , diabetes can be easily handled when u get all the information , my sister ( very healthy ) just got diagnosed with type 1 and she had to go to the hospital to get all the information and kit stuff , it will probably b a lengthy app and they will take great care of u as u are expecting aswell X don't be upset with yourself I'm sure it will be fine , hope ur app goes well tomorrow x

Vikkijayne2507 · 30/11/2015 16:10

cheery were date buddies im 8 weeks today,

Im sorry for all those that have had bad news its like you want life to stay great now your pregnant but it doesnt always work out that way, generally with sudden shocks like that it takes a bit of t ime to adjust so be gentle ladies to yourselves

Woodsy81 · 30/11/2015 16:27

pulpi I am so sorry to hear your news. Had some similar news myself this year so know what a shock it can be. Really hope you are OK.

I went for my scan at EPU today and was fully prepared to see the worst. The sonographer asked if I wanted to see screen right away or just when she had confirmed what was going on. Said I was ok to see what was there and to show us right away. Saw our baby right away and almost instantly she said theres your baby and its got a really strong heartbeat. I just burst into tears. I had utterly convinced myself that there was something wrong (with lack of symptoms and then spotting that turned to bleeding last night). Baby (which for some reason I am now convinced is a boy) was moving about and could see heartbeat so well. DH just sat there smiling - in a bit of shock but happy shock. :) She found where there had been a bleed but the area was too small to be a concern. So just been told to take it easy and if bleeding gets heavier then to call them straight back. She said where the bleed is shouldn't cause any problems for baby. Baby is dated at 9+1 ( I thought I was 9+4). Still going to private scan on Saturday and really looking forward to seeing our little button again. Just so so relieved. Hope you are all OK today.

Mordirig · 30/11/2015 16:40

Oh No! So, so sorry pulpi I didn't see your post when I was writing mine, how awful. Not surprised you cried, its shocking when you get news like that.
Take care of yourself tonight xx
