I love the Winnie the Pooh pencil scetches Isla! Sounds like you did well.

I got my hair cut this afternoon (first time in ages) and nearly fell asleep during the blow-dry Blush !

I could honestly sleep standing up these days. Last night I went for a quick lie down after DS went to bed and ended up sleeping from 8-10pm, then got up, ate some pizza and went to bed for the night. Rock n roll.

Sighing · 28/11/2015 19:13

Isla my girls had the pencil sketches in their nursery! Lovely. I think they might be in the loft ...

madsaz76 · 28/11/2015 19:18

We are having a Dr Seuss nursery -pretty sure we are doing this entirely for ourselves and bubs may prefer owls or monkeys or something. I love Dr Seuss.

30 weeks on monday so my bag now fully packed. I am also knackered all the time so had my now traditional Saturday overlong bath and now settled in bed watching telly.

Rock and roll here too Smile

TillITookAnArrowToTheKnee · 28/11/2015 19:42

This is what we currently have Grin MIL bought us a cot/mattress/sheets from IKEA today. Obviously DH couldn't wait to do Man Stuff after a day of shopping and so he assembled it.

We swapped bedrooms with DDs - hence the wallpaper - gave them the much bigger bedroom. But havent bothered decorating yet. Post Christmas and DD2s birthday job that is. Although I am tempted to keep 3 drops off that wallpaper so that baby has his/her own corner. Although I sneaked a peek on the scan and am 80% sure I know

The Crusi won the battle, hands down. I want the navy one. Or the grey one. Sigh.

I so want to get my nursery put together but got to move 1st and put everything away before I get to do it. Builder should have finished yesterday but still no heating or water. Froze today in house painting skirting boards. The builder is in big trouble on Monday!

Diabetes is getting worse, think I am going to have to face the fact that I need to start metformin. I hate taking meds and already have enough IBS flare ups without taking a medication that causes upset tummies in normal people. BG of 10.3 1hr after dinner, might as well have eaten chocolate cake for dinner if healthy food is going to cause that! Really want a clementine now but can't have one until BG drops under 7. Sod that I really want chocolate!!!

IslaMann · 28/11/2015 21:38

Rufus you may find that taking Metformin for the intended purpose means no tummy upsets. I took it years ago for PCOS, and it was awful, cramps and massive IBS flare ups as a result, but this time round I've had no side effects from it at all, and I feel so much better physically since my blood sugars have been under control. I haven't had higher than 8.2 for the last 10 days or so. My pre-breakfast sugars are always less than 5 now too.

Mawsymoo · 28/11/2015 22:20

Another tired person here. DS is still sick so I'm surviving on almost no sleep - and then the days are such a struggle as he's so unwell. I cried so many times today from exhaustion.

I didn't get my bag sorted yet but hopefully I'll make some progress tomorrow if I can get DS to take a nap and have a few minutes to myself. I'm loving all the nursery updates - I got new wooden floors on the kids rooms this week as carpets and newborn boys don't mix IMO. Their rooms are also painted but I'm still waiting for some furniture to be delivered for DS before I finish his room, and the baby's room is currently being used as the painter's storage room! Next week should be the last week of the painter being here hopefully and then I can start making the place a bit more homey.

But now - bed!

haquoi123 · 29/11/2015 08:51

We went to our last hypnobirthing session yesterday, which was fantastic. It was at another couple's house and we saw their nursery - both DH and I had massive nursery jealousy. We then went to the only baby shop in the county and had more pram and cot jealousy and then a mini internal meltdown over the fucking car seats (my car isn't isofix and I got scared when she showed me how the belted ones work). It's all so expensive and wasteful!! I've charged DH with researching that, I've given up. He can choose. Then bubs massively turned round and spent the evening pummelling my guts while I desperately held on to my dinner and silently repeated 'MY body'. sigh! I just wish we'd could get something nice and new for him, but better to make the best of what we're collecting. Just discovered chalk paints, so some furniture painting is on the cards.

Haquoi I know exactly where you're coming from. I'm in a bit of a stress about it, not helped by dp having the attitude that we have ages yet (I know we do so hes not actually unreasonable but still). Our bedroom is already massively crowded and we somehow have to fit a cot in there. Baby doesn't even have a room they will eventually move into as it has a fricking lodger in that dp doesn't want to get rid of (but I do) because of the money so we also need to fit all her clothes and nappies etc into our room as well. I know they'll fit under the cot but I'm not sure about the crib which we'll have in there for as long as possible to save on space. All I have new for her is a teddy bear, three baby grows and some nappi nippas. Everything else was my dcs and most of it was second hand to them too. I'm mostly fine with that because a)it saves money and b) it's less wasteful but I just want to get excited and get organised dammit!

My car seat is not isofix either, it wasn't as common ten years ago and our car then didn't have it. My current car does but dps doesn't.

Troika · 29/11/2015 19:00

Sorry in a bit of a grump today!

haquoi123 · 29/11/2015 19:40

Grump away troika, it feels like everything is so slow to happen and things are always getting in the way!

We took an unplanned break from nesting today, ending up in A&E - for DH this time. He manage to jam his finger in the front door (so much so that he struggled to open the door again) and I've never heard him scream in pain like that before! Luckily it's not broken, just badly bruised, but it's his writing and trumpet hand, so he's got to take it careful. I'm so bad when people hurt themselves, I get uncontrollable giggles. I managed to keep them in mostly, but just now we were reliving it and I was absolutely pissing myself. Who knows what I'll be like if the baby hurts himself :s

TillITookAnArrowToTheKnee · 29/11/2015 20:30

Troika Im kicking myself for Freecycling all of my DDS things. I wish Id kept hold of it all. Im trying to be as eco as possible and then DH wants a 1k pram... Im letting him buy it, sod it, he doesnt ask for much and has happily backed me in my cloth nappy obsession despite initial reservations.

So the vivid dreams are back again... All week its been about me giving birth to twin boys. If they have missed a baby on the 4 scans Ive had so far Im going to be mighty pissed off Grin

TillITookAnArrowToTheKnee · 29/11/2015 20:39

Baby doesnt have a room either. We have 2 bedrooms. We swapped and gave DDs the biggest room as eventually the baby will be going in with them. People are harping on at us to move. We cant. We have a council house. I refuse to make them rehouse me because Ive chosen to have another baby. Private rent is not an option - itd be circa 3k which we dont have and after the stress of being evicted from my last private rental as LL wanted to sell (which is why the council housed me as the eviction wasnt my own doing, I was a single parent to DDs who were 2YO and 4MO at the time) its too unstable for my liking, we have one wage coming in, no savings and so no mortgage options either. Weve rejigged furniture and rooms to make it work for the next 3 years whilst we desperately scrat about trying to get a deposit and mortgage.

XingXingFox · 29/11/2015 21:11

Dr Seuss is an awesome theme!

We just have a dark grey room for the nursery. It's not a proper room, it's just big enough for a cot and a chair, but I do quite like the idea of having a quiet spot to feed etc.

Really awful pregnancy insomnia for me this week. No more than 3 hours sleep per night. Felt like I was going mad and had two strong coffees today Shock. May have to call in sick tomorrow.

On the upside, put Christmas tree up and DD so excited. It was so joyful to spend the day with her decorating and singing etc. We've been living in Asis for two years so this is our first tree for three years, so really going all out this year.

I'm supposed to be in Brussels this week which makes me slightly nervous. I'm also feeling way too run-down to travel. To work really! So tired! 2 weeks 3 days to go!

MaisieDotes · 29/11/2015 22:43

We have no nursery either. Some sort of re-jigging of the bedrooms will need to be done at some point, but not until the baby is at least six months so I'm long-fingering that!

CalypsoLilt · 30/11/2015 06:59

I woke up at 4am so thought sod it, coming into the office: arrived 6.30am. Damn it's going to be a long day! Will sneak off around 4 I hope.

Had a lovely codeine fuelled weekend in Munich at the Christmas Markets, roast chestnuts, non-alcoholic (!) mulled wine..... stayed with a friend who was as accommodating as she could be to a waddling hormonal SPD blobette. I even got special assistance at Heathrow, wow that was worth it! Queue jumped all of passport control :)

Nursery theme for me I think is going to be Studio Ghibli. Definitely sinking in now that this is VERY real and it's not long until I will have to look after someone else for the rest of my life!

Does anyone else have their Christmas Tree up or is it just me?! [santa]

Whoknewitcouldbeso · 30/11/2015 07:20

Argh baby kicked me hard all night, I've had such little sleep it's untrue. Just how do you sleep when there is a nearly 4lb thug dancing a jig inside you? Most nights it's quite cute but last night I must have got 4 hours sleep at most 😁

RattyCatty · 30/11/2015 07:58

Glad I'm not the only knackered one this morning! Wide awake from 3.20... Going to be a long day but we can do it ladies! Shock

IslaMann · 30/11/2015 08:44

Me too, awake since 4am. In fact it's been the same since last week apart from Sat night when I managed to go through til 6am. Existing on 4 hours sleep will at least be good practice for when baby arrives.

monkerina · 30/11/2015 09:16

Vivid dreams are back here too, I was in Jurassic Park last night which was quite good fun- but found it difficult to get out of the dinos' way cause I was waddling along! They chose not to eat me anyway, which was nice. First decent night's sleep in ages, sorry to be a combo breaker.

Nursery here is just plain cream- need to find a couple of pics for the walls!

clarabellski · 30/11/2015 09:21

Morning all, 30 weeks today! Gulp!

Calypso I would LOVE to do studio ghibli. DH is going to paint a blue whale and lion's mane jellyfish on the nursery walls, but I've asked him to try and make them ghibli-esque in style if he can! Anyone who says they are decorating the nursery for their baby is LYING, it is totally for the parents! (ditto buying lego)

So we bought our pram yesterday (or should I say that my parents in law bought our pram yesterday, woo hoo!). We went for the Bugaboo Cameleon. DH wanted a funky colour so we ordered a kind of turquoise/sea green (he didn't realise it cost £90 more - he nearly died when I told him later, haha!). We got the car seat deal that rufus posted up - thanks Rufus!

Eeek starting to feel very real!!!

jellypi3 · 30/11/2015 10:39

we put up our chicco next to me last night. It looks so cute, though its full of baby stuff until we get the babys room decorated. I can't get my head round the fact that in 8 or so weeks i'll hopefully have a baby sleeping in it! It's crazy!

Also, we are buying all our nursery furniture from Ikea now Grin, so thanks to till i think who suggested it! Saved a small fortune I reckon!

Rufus200 · 30/11/2015 12:16

Sat crying on my sofa. My mum and DH have just had an explosive screaming row in front of me. My mum left nearly taking the door off its hinges and God help anyone who is on the same road as her as she drove off with her wheels screaming. They both can't stand each other but are normally polite to each others faces. DH was a sulky arsehole on the building site yesterday and my mum hadn't forgiven him for doing nothing all day while we worked, so when he said no to her about something today she went apeshit. Both of them have gone off to sulk and have left me to deal with all the crap that still needs doing. As if I don't have enough stress being heavily pregnant, not sleeping, diabetes and trying to get a house finished to move into. My mum's parting screamed at me comment was that I was on my own and she wasn't going to help me anymore. I'm going to give a couple of hours to calm down and then call her but as usual I'm going to have to grovel to her despite the fact that I've done absolutely nothing wrong. I can't do all this on my own Sad. I should be onsite painting but someone has turned up really sick and is coughing and sneezing everywhere and I can't risk myself.

In baby news, he decided to turn himself transverse yesterday at 5am. It was really painful and I jumped out of bed shrieking. Then couldn't sleep because I had feet sticking out the side of my tummy as a lump, that were near constantly moving as he enjoyed the extra room. He turned himself back round last night but I haven't worked out if he is head down or breech.

TillITookAnArrowToTheKnee · 30/11/2015 12:44

Rufus Flowers The pair of them should be ashamed of themselves. No suggestions tho, Im the sort that would down tools, leave the fuckers to if, refuse to engage with either of them until they both apologised to me. Im a tad hot headed and very stubborn

Im watching S11 of Greys Anatomy. Its quite horrendous at the moment, awful story line about a baby, bawling my eyes out.

Couldnt get a signal on my phone this morning to call Physio, and its only open between 9-9:30am Confused Bloody stupid it is.

jelly IKEA is awesome! We got the Sniglar cot in the end, as its untreated wood and DH wants to paint it yellow. MIL also bought us a bedding set, cant be used till baby is older as its a cot sized duvet and pillow (DDs had same ones from there) and said she will take us back after Christmas to buy baby bath (£5!) and other bits that we need.

DSis told me shes got a huge box of baby toiletries, flannels, baby towels etc for us, DGM has knitted some adorable little cardigans.

Best friends Mum has asked for a list of stuff we still need. She told me to think big Blush I am no good at requesting small items let alone anything else!

Now to look at finances to get this pram bought... Hmm

NorthernChinchilla · 30/11/2015 16:12

Blimey rufus how grim for you. Nothing worse than being trapped in the middle, but as adults they should know better. Can anyone other than you talk some sense into them?

DD-to-be's room is just plain white with brown carpet. We've got a few pictures and some rugs that will go down, and may treat myself to some new bedding for the double in there.

Has anyone else's offspring got a favoured beating point in them? About 75% of the hits/kicks/stretches are centred on this one area kinda NW of my belly button. Don't remember DS being this precise!
