Flowers to everyone having a hard time, that bleeding must have been scary step

The libido thing is so annoying! I keep having really randy dreams but I'm actually too tired when awake to act on them, gaaahhh! I've warned DH that towards the end he had better be ready to shag on demand though to get this baby out!

Stepawayfromthezebras · 16/12/2015 11:57

Oh Isla I hear you, I told myself that because it took so long to get pregnant I'd appreciate every minute and not moan but at the moment I'm just fed up, I feel like a ticking time bomb, I can't do anything and I just want little one here safe.

We're getting there, not long now Flowers

Stepawayfromthezebras · 16/12/2015 12:07

Yeah, it was kind of scary clara but my boyfriend was super calm (he's usually Mr Stresshead Jumpy so it was really nice he kept calm and looked after me) and the hospital staff were ace.

I've been banned from sex for the last 4 weeks since the first bleed. But my boyfriend had to put my support stockings on for me this hospital visit so I don't think he's ever going to want to have sex with me again Blush

haquoi123 · 16/12/2015 12:11

clara Grin ditto

stepFlowers I used to be so angry at pregnant women who moaned and now I've joined the ranks, it feels like I've betrayed my angry grieving self and everyone else who has struggled with having children. And then people reassure me that pregnancy is hard and tiring, for some more than others, but even for the easiest one. I think we all owe ourselves a few high fives - I've got the utmost respect for every woman on this thread, I really do. You're all awesome Wine gush

Is anyone having a baby shower?

X post step, sorry! Haha! I'm a burping, farting mess, I'm surprised DH still finds me attractive...

Unsexy high fives all round Grin

clarabellski · 16/12/2015 12:46

I was away for a long weekend at halloween with a bunch of friends from uni (we go to a country house once a year) and myself and another friend were pregnant (2 weeks apart). The ladies threw us a surprise baby shower one of the afternoons. The gents helped set up the room, so there were lovely banners like 'congratulations!' and 'c*nt' Grin We are so ready for children....

We had afternoon tea and they gave us each one of those nappy cake things which was lovely - stuffed fully of muslins and newborn nappies, topped with socks folded to look like flowers!

It was a fun afternoon but if they hadn't done it I wouldn't have arranged a shower myself if you know what I mean. Especially now when all i want to do is veg on the couch if I'm not working or doing DIY, EXCEPT FOR STAR WARS TOMORROW NIGHT AT THE IMAX WOOP WOOP! geek alert

CalypsoLilt · 16/12/2015 13:16

CLARA HELL YES TO STAR WARS!!!! I also have opening night tickets but nothing as glam as IMAX, just the local cinema's 6pm showing..... have been counting down for the last 18 months Grin loser

Whoknewitcouldbeso · 16/12/2015 18:36

I have had Braxton Hicks on and off all day today!! Plus my breathlessness has been horrible, I feel like I've got asthma Sad

Not sure if I should be worried about the BH. I have had them before in this pregnancy and I do remember getting them with DS. I get tightenings basically where my bump will go really hard on and off. I assume this is BH?

RattyCatty · 16/12/2015 18:44

whoknew I don't think I've had them but I know they are v common & tightening a so try not to worry x

madsaz76 · 16/12/2015 20:11

I'm hoping my moaning etc will improve substantially when mat leave starts. My job is pretty demanding and I think I am just knackered.

This is what I tell myself anyway - like calypso my house is a tip & if I don't find my mojo definitely going to be more of a scummy mummy than a yummy one.

I have to keep having a strong word with myself because my moans are not really serious things & then this place reminds me other women have loads to deal with. I did spend part of a meeting with the surgeons making involuntary wincing as I shifted position (but being surgeons they were oblivious) but essentially I am well and have to keep reminding myself of that.

I'm another that took a long time to be pregnant - but it really doesn't take long to take things for granted. I worry I'm going to become one of those annoying types who then bores people with tales of my labour and why I am so tough.

Basically I just worry about everything - its gonna be a long 18 + years

MaisieDotes · 16/12/2015 20:51

I feel like I am walking through treacle all the time. Feel like this for about 3 days now. I think it's a virus (cold) on top of general pregnancy tiredness.

whoknew I get BHs all throughout the day too- I usually get a run of a few of them at a time, several times a day. It's normal afaik.

haquoi123 · 16/12/2015 21:19

whoknew, it's so normal that the midwife didn't ask me to come in even though mine were regular, my history with ds and I've got a short cervix... I was pretty surprised, but her call turned out to be right. Basically keep an eye in then and if you're worried ring the hospital. But they say drink loads of water, empty your bladder, take paracetamol, have a bath or a lie down and they should calm down. If they get more intense or don't go away after an hour or so ring the hospital.

Just had my first antenatal class - I found it surprisingly tough actually, (our midwife for ds led it and there were far too many pics of newborns straight away), but once the shock wore off it was fine. My old next door neighbour was there, due the day after me! Small world.

madsaz haquoi you've really resonated with me, I feel like I'm betraying my infertile self when I get whiny and fed up. I keep trying to remember all the things pregnant women and parents said and did that hurt when I was ttc and failing and reminding myself not to go on about it too much - it's hard to keep a check on though - it's pretty much all I'm thinking about at the moment and I have to keep biting my tongue.

Goodness knows what I'll be like when it's actually here, I rabbit on about my cats too much at the moment, I'm going to have to really reel it in with a child!

Whoknewitcouldbeso · 17/12/2015 08:17

Anyone got any up to date bump pics? I keep getting told I'm 'neat' which is fine, although it heightens my anxiety a little that I'm not doing this well. Would be great to see some other bumps around the same time frame.

Whoknewitcouldbeso · 17/12/2015 09:08

Just taken one now I'm dressed. Think I've only taken two photos this pregnancy, only have one from my sons! I always end up chopping my head off as I always look so bloody old!! 32 weeks today Grin

Feb 2016 babies: Welcome to the 3rd trimester - the final stretch! (in more ways than one)
clarabellski · 17/12/2015 09:32

I'm about the same size as that whoknew.

My aunt said to my mum 'oh she must be having a girl, she doesn't look pregnant from behind' and then I got a text from my mother in law saying the same thing, but 'boy' instead of 'girl'! Arf!

I think we're allowed to acknowledge that this pregnancy lark is getting harder. Be kind to yourselves ladies! We've basically got a bowling ball strapped to our body 24/7. Its tiring. I don't really talk about it in real life (so much so that my husband sat me down the other night 'to ask me how I really feel), but I think that's what this antenatal group is great for. We're all in the same boat (give or take a few weeks variation) so we can really relate to each others aches and pains and we know we're not alone! Flowers

monkerina · 17/12/2015 09:36

Ooh bump pics! Have just taken one, I've also been told that it's 'neat' at 31 weeks today. I'm actually really enjoying pregnancy, especially after 2 years of waiting, and it's lovely to go through it with others as well Smile

NCT classes start on Tuesday, really looking forward to them and DH starting to get a bit more involved- he's only interested in toys and fluffy stuff so far!

Whoknewitcouldbeso · 17/12/2015 09:40

Oooh monk that is very neat! ☺️ Good stuff. All I see around me are big bumps but I know you shouldn't compare.

Stepawayfromthezebras · 17/12/2015 10:09

My bumps quite small and when they estimated the baby's size from measuring the bump at 30 week I was around the 50th percentile but when they've done growth scans at 28 and 32 weeks it was estimated at about the 90th percentile so I don't think there's much correlation between bump and baby size - the Duchess of Cambridge barely showed but both her babies were good weights from what I can remember

Rufus200 · 17/12/2015 10:10

My bump is finally getting to a similar size as my bum. So sort of balanced at the moment.

Went to the theatre last night and everyone in the row made jokes to me not to go into labour, looked huge in my dress last night.

Got a really pretty dress from Tiffany Rose, it was discounted on Black Friday but it started fraying on its 1st wear last night and is in my opinion only worth 25% of what they charge. Why are maternity clothes such a rip off?! My brand new mega washing machine has just shrunk mine and DH's clothes! I had grow room left in all my jumpers but now they are too small, really annoyed, I don't want to have to go and buy more clothes with 7 weeks left but I'm going to have nothing to wear as bump grows. Will wait for the sales if I can.

Whoknewitcouldbeso · 17/12/2015 10:30

Rufus your bump is really neat too!! I have no idea why I think I'm smaller than I should be when we all look the same so far.

I've just come out of my local fiat dealership and I've decided on a Fiat 500L after looking at lots and lots of different cars. My Stokke, fits in the boot with room for a few bags. There is lots of room for two car seats in the back and the most important thing is they are SO CUTE!!! 🙊

MaisieDotes · 17/12/2015 10:39

Well I don't look the same. My bump is about the size of all your bumps put together Sad Sad

I feel like a massive hippo. I will do a pic if I can bring myself.

clarabellski · 17/12/2015 10:54

Maisie the world would be a boring place to live if we were all the same. Don't be hard on yourself! I'm 6ft tall so there's loads of room for my monster to hide still! My friend is 5ft2 and 34 weeks and you could balance a toaster on her bump, it sits out very prominently in front of her!

Whoknew my friend has the same car and she gets all her baby stuff in no problem!

I thought it was interesting when viewing car seats that these new rear facing isofix bases actually don't fit in most UK cars. They were designed in northern europe were they all drive monster cars. It will be interesting in 2018/2019 when they are supposed to be making the rear facing until 15 months guidance into actual law. Who will actually have a car that will enable them to do this? Are we all expected to go out and buy volvos?!?!? I am very glad we're missing this law now as we can't afford a bloody volvo!

T - 9 hours to Star Wars, yay!!!!!!
