This has motivated me to start thinking about my birth plan, thank you...

I'm currently in my work canteen trying not to fall asleep. Can't wait to finish for Christmas. I reckon after that a few weeks in Jan won't feel too bad. In the meantime though I am Just. So. Tired. Zzzzzzzzzzzz.....

Rufus200 · 09/12/2015 13:35

So excited my cot and nursing chair have just gone in the nursery. Unfortunately someone put a dirty mark on my brand new carpet.

Anyone who had small boobs, do they go back? Do they go empty and saggy afterwards when the tissue decreases?

Aaaah that looks lovely Rufus 😍

In my experience re. boobs they went back absolutely fine as I breast fed until DS self weaned at a year. So my milk supply very slowly decreased, there was no sudden change. I have heard this helps but there must be an element of genetics at play as well.

GiraffesAndButterflies · 09/12/2015 16:18

My boobs were small before DD, blossomed beautifully when I was pregnant and breastfeeding, and then looked empty and saggy and awful for (brace yourselves) I would say about a year after I had stopped bf. Then after that they were back to their normal disappointingly small selves. Sad

NorthernChinchilla · 09/12/2015 18:01

Ooh rufus, that looks ever so swish, lucky baby! Don't think there's a single room in my house that looks that classy Grin
On the ELCS front, I chose one last time (and have again) owing to the history of hideous births in my family. It was absolutely the right choice. I appreciate for you it is a matter, as you say, of the least worst option, and therefore it may not be possible to reassure, but I can certainly say it was a calm and (as these things go) pleasant procedure. I hope that your MW has explored all the things that can be done, both psychologically and medically, to ease the anxiety.

On the boobs front...mine are odd. They do not change. I've been wearing the same bras before, during (and after) the pregnancies. Like who, I bf'd for a year, slowly decreasing over that time; when I stopped, they seemed to loose some 'fullness', but it was only brief and temporary.

Had the whooping cough-and-every-other-bloody-vaccination jab this afternoon, arm not falling off so far, but as it was bloody sore after the flu jab I'm expecting the worst.

madsaz76 · 09/12/2015 21:12

My boobs were 34F to start and I promptly got to 36F within 8 weeks. But then they pretty much stayed put - I've just gone to a 36 G though I am really F and a half I think. No leaking yet, but I am more disturbed by the 4 cm long hair on my nipple - very fair so probably why I missed it.

This prompted a search of chin etc (have a horror of having an undiscovered beard, enough tht my sister had to promise if I am ever unconscious on ITU she will come in and pluck any) where I found a second long fair hair.

Thing is it is very fair and I am sure this effect will wear off post baby so have trimmed and trying really hard not to pluck in case I make things worse. Facial hair and an outy belly button are not going down well. I am much wierder than I thought.

haquoi123 · 09/12/2015 21:13

My boobs are ginormous and leaky but I haven't changed bras, I just use the crop top ones from sainsburys. I can't bear tight things round my chest, even more so now bubs is cutting off my lung capacity (professional singer, hmm, helpful!). I've got awful stretch marks though, and they're spreading up my belly!! Trying not to worry about it, I was upset my body went back to normal after ds died so every mark bubs leaves is a good one.

I'm so so tired. So tired. Even napping doesn't help any more. No brain power or energy. Bring on February I say, sod Christmas!

On the plus side, finally found a decent handyman to do all the horrible little jobs we've been panicking about and DH has started painting the baby room lime green but I've given up caring

To weigh in on the boob talk...

Mine were 32C before both DC and they went back to that bra size after (except they lost all firmness and seemed empty, kinda droopy and a bit flatter).

I have huge boobs now and I'm trying to enjoy them. Sometimes I fantasize about getting implants (not bigger, just so there is something there).

I did bf both kids for 8-9 months until they self weened. So I slowly stopped.

rufus your nursery looks great! You are so organized. We need to get DS out of the toddler bed (and convert it back to a crib)

MaisieDotes · 09/12/2015 21:47

Mine are 34DD but they aren't as big as they were last time so not too bad.

They didn't grow much more during breastfeeding as such, just swelled up and down. I think my nursing bras are 34E.

I hate having big boobs and can't wait to get back to normal. I can't understand why so many maternity dresses have really high necks that just look ridiculous with big boobs.

RattyCatty · 09/12/2015 22:00

rufus beautiful nursery!

My boobs (I was pretty flat before) are bigger but def not in a nice way!

goneswimming · 09/12/2015 22:34

I used to love my boobs but now they just look like udders to me- no shape, just large! And they rest on my bump, and get sweaty underneath. I have no idea why I ever thought pregnancy would be a beautiful journey- dopnt get me wrong, I wouldn't change it, and I love that it's happening- but at the same time I think I had it in mind that it would be more of an emotional development, whereas actually it's just massively physical.

MaisieDotes · 09/12/2015 23:19

It's an endurance test for sure. I don't feel I can complain (in RL! I complain like mad on here!) because I'm so lucky to be having a third baby and it was my choice to do that. Whatever about numbers one and two, by this stage I've gone into it with my eyes wide open. Didn't expect the prolapse though Sad

My granny had 14 children. Can you imagine that? At one stage she had a baby every year for 8 years. I've always taken this for granted as that's just the way it is but recently I've been pondering it a lot.

HOW THE HELL DID SHE HAVE 14 BABIES???? The mind boggles.

goldmaple · 10/12/2015 05:40

maisie i cannot imagine having babies for the next 10 years with no control over it!! And our grannys had to do the washing up, laundry etc... By hand!! I barely manage as it is! How did they do it?!

goneswimming I was shocked by how unglamorous pregnancy was the first time!! (It's still unglamorous but I'm just used to it) I think it's all those celebs who swan around looking amazing with no body changes except a bump!!

Has anyone else started swelling? Water retention? My fingers were aching the other day and my shins. If anyone knows a home remedy let me know.

CalypsoLilt · 10/12/2015 08:37

boasting klaxon: my boobs look amazing, this is the best they have ever looked and WILL ever look, and there is no one to admire them Sad If you want a photo, inbox me! Wink

yesterday I went for an eyebrow, top lip (ouch) and chin threading session. took 20 mins but was well worth it.

I'm also tres exhauste haquoi I fell asleep on the sofa last night which never happens on a school night.

I definitely need a handyman......best place to look? checkatrade? got things like shelves, curtains, lights, loft ladder, that need seeing to.

Whoknewitcouldbeso · 10/12/2015 10:07

Calypso Grin

I find those local magazines the best place for finding handymen etc. not sure if you get one, we get quite a glossy thing once a month.

Well I'm glad to say on the whole I'm feeling pretty normal. No aches or pains or anything. Little bit of heartburn but otherwise nothing very noteworthy. The guest room is now decorated so I can start nesting!!! 😦😦

haquoi123 · 10/12/2015 10:34

calypso I'm also loving my boobs at the mo, but can't even enjoy them myself (orgasm ban!! Arrrrgh!) The handyman we got is a friend of the family and had moved away but had just come back for a short while looking for work (yessss!) I've no idea how to get someone through the proper channels. Can your friends recommend anyone?

gold I've had the occasional hands swelling but not bad enough to do anything about it... Maybe moisturise and self massage to help with aches?

TMI, just went for a poo and stood up and my bump was in a completely different position, much lower and I can breathe... Can he have engaged already? Im 31+5

OP posts:
clarabellski · 10/12/2015 11:23

that must have been some poo hacquoi! Grin

My bump changes shape all the time, I've given up trying to guess where the baby is hiding!

Posey01 · 10/12/2015 15:13

My leggies have swollen...I did have reflexology and they've gone right down!

Sighing · 10/12/2015 15:52

Haquoi: that was one serious poo.
At the moment I find it easier to breathe when he rotates to be head up (which he can still do). I think without feet in my diaphragm he doesn't push as hard against me.... could yours have turned that way (or even to the side)? Mine managed to be across me the other morning. It was bloody uncomfortable at the sides but there was no up or down pressure.
But if you're 4 weeks ahead of me (I'm mot sure) at the start of feb perhaps he could be at the first engaged position?

Sighing · 10/12/2015 15:55

I had my gtt today. This one has me very anxious (still stressing over the prospect of a huge baby despite my previous lbw history).
Crossing fingers and trying to act sensibly and not eating all the advent calendar "just in case". Grin

clarabellski · 10/12/2015 16:50

fingers crossed sighing.

On my GROW chart I'm hovering around 90th percentile at last 2 measurements. I'm quite pleased that they are on the bigger side (tiny babies just seem more fragile somehow) but I hope the head circumference isn't 90th percentile! Shock

haquoi123 · 10/12/2015 18:08

Haha! clara that made me wonder, I've just had a look and my last measurement on Monday was way above the 90th percentile, by about 2cm. The midwife wasn't worried, she said he might curve off and rejoin the line and that his head was quite high up, so we'll see next time. High five for big babies! I thought he might have gone transverse sighing, but the kicks are in the same place, just lower. He's not stopped moving today though! Maybe celebrating extra space for movement after my epic poo Grin

So I have been a terrible mother today. I have eaten chocolate and not just a little taste either. Haven't bothered to check my BG. I'm just too stressed and tomorrow will be even worse! Today was supposed to be my mum and I packing up all the clothes and taking them round and putting them away then cleaning so the house wasn't quite so dirty when the removal people arrived. Instead I've been on my own all day and now have bin liners filled with clothes everywhere but still my wardrobe is half full and I'm just surrounded by boxes and dirt!

It is going to be a very late horrible night tonight trying to actually get something done. I've given up for now and sat on the sofa waiting for my mum to turn up and actually start helping me. I wanted to enjoy my last ever night in my home that DH and I have spent 6 years in together. Oh and no heating and hot water at the building site as the electrician didn't install the programmer for the new boiler correctly and it blew up this evening. One thing after a sodding another with the stupid new house.
