Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
divastrop · 19/12/2006 16:43

i think im going to have to draw up a list of house rules for the older two as i keep saying the same things over and over to them and they just ignore me.i will say right-these are the rules,if you break them you get punished without prior warning

imfeeling large and sorry for myself today.my bump seems to have got huge and every other woman in the town seems to have got skinnier...ive atarted a moaning thread on pregnancy if anyone would like to join me

I like that "happy mummy" feeling you get when breastfeeding, form all those hormones! Makes me into a very laidback person

Has anyone found their schoolchildren are totally exhausted at the end of term? DS and DD both have big shadows under their eyes and DS in on two lots of anti biotics for imetigo and conjunctivitis. I'm sure he gets these things when he's run down and tired.

Ordered a DEll PC today and should be with us by 26th, so I no longer have the prospect of neing in IT wilderness over the break, with no MN! Really looking forawrd to it arriving. DS is pleased as all his friends have flat screen PCs now and ours was 6 years old, so he was a wee bit embarassed by it!!!

Lunar - glad your employers are coming round. I think DR's notes always help to focus the boss on the fact that there is actually a real medical consideration

kittyschristmascrackers · 19/12/2006 17:07

Diva, this evening there was a three person fisticuff pile up in the sittingroom. I didn't witness it but had enough info to know that a houserule had been broken about not showing anger with either hands, teeth or feet!!!!!
One tried a (pathetic) denial but the evidence was too strong, they were convicted and got sent up to their rooms.
The boys also have a list of "to do" things everyday and it has been great in stopping me shrieking like an old fish wife about book bags, getting dressed, breathing, swallowing, putting one foot in front of the other etc etc. Now I shout like an old fish wife about other things instead.

Foxy, good news about the new computer, will they deliver over the xmas period?

harktheheraldfoxessing · 19/12/2006 17:29

Kitty - I might try that " to do" list for DS. Mind you, he might miss the fish wife

Dell have promised me it'll either come by Christmas eve, or on boxing day - they said their delivery team are working over the hols, as they have a huge Christmas sale on. If its not there by 9am on 27th, I'm going to have to get arsey !

kittyschristmascrackers · 19/12/2006 17:50

Foxy, there's always something to be fish wifey about.
Yeah, my kids (and me) are absolutely shattered. I can't remember such a long and tiring term.
I've had a couple of dell computers before, I liked them. I've got a mac now and like that even better .

I've started the old pregnancy linked dropping/ throwing things on the floor. Everything around me that can fall on the floor when I touch it or simply walk past falls on the floor. If someone gives me something I take it then drop it again. Of course it's not ideal when you can't bend over and then get back up again in less than 5 mins. please say I'm not the only one who is rapidly losong control of more and more parts of my body.

harktheheraldfoxessing · 19/12/2006 20:14

Kitty I'm clumst too and often can't even be arsed to pick things up!

DH passed me something to hold last week and I dropped it - mind you that was his fault of course

I'm so breathless that carrying a load of washing upstairs tires me out and I need to sit down afterwards LOL

kittyschristmascrackers · 19/12/2006 20:37

When i took dd2 to the docs toiday i had to carry her up these quite long and twisty flight of stairs and when I got into the room I was almost hyperventilating. I sounded like phone sex pest. The doctor commented on the breathing and asked if I'd had any blood tests recently, looked under my eye lids etc. Couldn't see any obvious signs of anemia. Just fat and puffy !!

leomincepiesandbrandybutter · 19/12/2006 21:01

Hi everyone, there is no way i am going to manage to catch up on all your chat tonight!
I am definitely finishing work at the end of the year, my doctor and my boss (and my dh) all insist that i do. And tbh, I'm struggling so quite happily looking forward to lazing around and spending hours on MN!

The twins seem to be doing very well, I can make out different parts of their bodies now when they stick out of my belly. I can clearly feel the head of one of them and love stroking it !

I've just read the last posts about breathlessness and clumsiness ....I don't need to add any comments to that!

Rosydingdongmerrily · 19/12/2006 21:16

Yep I'm a clumsy oaf, I just ask everyone to pick things up for me or else it lies where it fell

I still have to tell my 15 year old to brush his hair and his teeth before he'll do it! Think I should write him a list.

Diva , must go have a moan on your thread!

Leo that's so lovely that you can feel each baby in there!

harktheheraldfoxessing · 20/12/2006 10:08

Leo - I love hearing about your twins

We have our corporate "do" today. At 10.30 a coach takes us to a huge restaurant, where we get wined and dined from 11am until 5pm, then have a choice of a coach back, or staying for the disco!!

Sometimes I'm glad I work - but not very often mind.

Rosydingdongmerrily · 20/12/2006 10:24

Hey Fox you lucky duck! Have a great delicious day!

AmieR · 20/12/2006 10:31

yeah Fox! have a good one! Though I reckon I'd be asleep at 5pm!

I'm always clumbsy so failing to see any effect pregnancy is having on this! My favourtie trick is catching my arms on door handles!

I can make out a lump, but have no idea what is where! But Leo that's awesome! I pat "lump" but I have no idea what it is!

2000milestoeidsvold · 20/12/2006 13:06

babe is kicking up a storm for me....

dd2 is so funny - she loved to dive on my stomach and I had to stop her and explain about the baby in mummy's tummy esp as my stomach is so noticeable.

She now tries to lift my top where ever we happen to be to show baby something - like a toy or that, or to kiss baby or to pat baby or to tell baby something. She always says hello baby its x here. rather cute.

so over christmas and it hasn't started yet. This is week one of 6 weeks summer holidays for us and the dds have been fighting like mad. Dd1 keeps asking to go to kindy and sn kindy as well as asking for her teachers.

have all my presents bought - food shopping tomorrow and then that is me done. Tree is up - some presents underneath - hopefully they will stay that way. Just need to finish wrapping dh's presents that I got tonight.]

temps have cooled down to round 30 degrees - not sure what the forecast is for chrissy day - not too hot I hope.

OCalliecomeallyefaithful · 20/12/2006 13:48

Last night one side of my bump was noticeably sticking out more than the other and I was wondering if that was LO's head.

On the clumsy front, ever since I've been pregnant, I keep nearly tripping over the legs of my wheely chair in work. Why?

Leo, am SOOOO jealous of you finishing work at Christmas. I'm starting to panic about not having anything done, bought, borrowed or stolen apart from a nappy bin and a baby monitor from my sis. Am hoping my other sister is going to arrive at Christmas with a carful of stuff for me!

Had a lovely night out yesterday. I briefly went to an agency drinks do in town after work (free bar - god, how annoying is that when you're pregnant!) then on to friends for dinner, and they'd made this gorgeous ginger and chili haddock dish a la Hugh Fearnly-Whittythingy, followed by a homemade chocolate and orange cake brought by the other set of guests. I brought the appreciation.... And i only woke up for half an hour last night, even if I did have to get up at six anyway!

28+6

evenhope · 20/12/2006 17:31

Been to the midwife today. All well but she says I'm measuring 4 weeks more than I should be and she couldn't work out which way round the baby is lying- thinks it is across.

I've got to go back in 3 weeks and if I'm still measuring big she'll refer me for a scan to find out why. Never had this before and the others were 6lb 10 to 8lb 7oz so I wasn't expecting anything other than an average sized baby.

I suppose it's not possible for four scans to miss twins?!

divastrop · 20/12/2006 20:22

evenhope-i measured 3 weeks more all through my last preg from about 18 weeks.they kept asking if i was sure of my dates.i had growth scans though and everything was fine.dd2 was my smallest at 6lb13oz! i dont get all this measurement stuff,i think they worry too much about it.

fox-did you stay for the disco?

amie-it could be baby's bum youre stroking

my ds2 was watching the baby the other day when i was in the bath.he says hello to her as well.its so cute at that age when they know whats going on.i dont know what dd2 is going to make of the baby.i remember showing dd1 to ds1 when she was born and he just pushed her away

i have to see the consultant again tomorrow and im having a growth scan.well,i was told i was but i havent had the letter.my bp is going to be through the roof having all the kids with me.

28weeks(girl)..are we nearly there yet???

OP posts:
kittyschristmascrackers · 20/12/2006 20:33

Sometimes I feel excited about the birth and at other times I'm petrified. Strangely I'm looking forward to my overdue weeks as I get to be really, really slow and I feel chilled. That feeling only ever happens in late preg as I'm too busy normally.

I'm having a "Why hasn't anybody in the house helped atall with christmas and said how nice my decs look" rant at the mo. Ah well back to the decorations, present wrapping and card hanging. Christmas is cancelled next year, bah humbug.

divastrop · 20/12/2006 21:14

why is it that threads i start always end up making me feel worse

OP posts:
kittyschristmascrackers · 20/12/2006 21:20

Why, Diva , what's happened?

harktheheraldfoxessing · 21/12/2006 09:05

Eids/Diva - that's so sweet, hearing about your LOs and the bumps. My DD keeps peering into my tummy button to try and get a look at the baby!

Kitty - IKWYM - Christmas is loads of pressure isn't it? Did you manage to retrieve the Christmas tree after it was assualted the other day?

I've got to try and get DD out of our bed once and for all over the hols; which I'm not relishing as she's scared of monsters at the moment and is scared to be left alone in any room.

Evenhope, do you have lots of water maybe? I was talking to someone yesterday whose friend has extra water which is making her very big.

I didn't stary long for the dosco, but went in for about 30 minutes. For some perverse reason I wanted to go home smelling of smoke, as a kind of pathetic rebellion against ahveing to be so squeaky clean atm. Managed to down about two mouthfuls of wine too!!

Rosydingdongmerrily · 21/12/2006 09:17

Fox you party animal, going home smelling of wine and smoke in your condition too

Mds2 age 2 says 'hello baby' to the bump now. When pregnant with dd she lay sideways for so long my bump was totally crooked. After I had her you could still see my tummy was bigger at one side!

divastrop · 21/12/2006 12:43

i cant believe the kids have only been off half a day and i already want to kill them

still,i suppose next door having the karaoke on last night hasnt helped my stress levels much.we rang the coppers at 10.20 and they went round there then told us there wasnt much they could do before 11 and we should contact the environmental health.then as soon as the cops went the b~~~~~~ds put the karaoke back on even louder till 11.05!

the scan was fine, they said.they still claimed not to be able to see any gender-specific bits though.the baby is lying transverse ,which is probably why im feeling so much movement cos im feeling hands andfeet.
my bp was slightly high but not too bad.i still have to go back to the clinic next week though.

right im off to the town hall to speak to e.health .

28+1(girl?)

harktheheraldfoxessing · 21/12/2006 12:47

Diva

That's horrible! Mid-week too!!

Good luck at the ehealth. They may have a noise patrol you can call out after hours. (11pm to 8am??)

11pm is very late for midweek though isn't it? The fact that they turned iot off at 11.05 indicates they are well aware of the rules

What a load of bustards!!!

AmieR · 21/12/2006 13:05

How much Karoke can I household need to do.. and mid week? Do they have neighbours on the other side, maybe you can gang up on your complaint.

Glad your appointment went OK though, some relief at least... LO protecting their bits from you, keeping you in suspense!

Work is hurrendously busy! But tomorrow is my last day full time. Down to 3 days a week, next week.. made sure I'm doing days evil woman doesn't! Muahahaha!

EDD 1st March
30 weeks! My god this is going quick.
A surprise.

kittyschristmascrackers · 21/12/2006 13:44

Diva, that's crap. Perhaps you could consider a house transfer citing damage to your and kids' health etc. Some peoploe are such wankers and they always will be, so sorry for you
