Diva - lol at brothel for clergymen. Yes you're right it's bloody boiling isn't it? Everyone keeps saying how cold it is but I feel like I'm in a sauna!

Booboo - Clapham, that's where the big train station is, iirc?

AmiR, my knowledge of the "big smoke" is Lewisham, Greenwich, Canary Wharf, New Cross, a little pub in Deptford called the Swan, Hither Green, Hammersmith and the centre. In that order! And Brighton (I know it isn't in London of course but you could get there really easily on a train from London, and loads of people from London went clubbing there, iyswim!)

As for the trial run to the hosi I am going to make him do it a couple of times until he can do it without directions. And do it once with mil as well in case it ends up her taking me, you never know.

Booboo / Foxy, took far too many recreational drugs in my early twenties. But nothing really agreed with me, I spent far too much time with my head down the loo to have very much fun. Cardigan and slipperville for me!

As for worrying about changing nappies etc I haven't done that since I was about 16 and my youngest cousin was born. And that was pampers, I'm planning to use cloth, so goodness only knows! I'm seriously thinking of buying a doll to practise on, those nappy nippas look very odd!

One of my mates has just sent me a quiz, "how common are you?" so I have to go, and try it!!!!

feedmenow · 08/01/2007 15:44

Hi ladies, hope you don't mind a quick visit from the August thread?
I have a question or 2 for sexkitty re. vbac. Sexkitty, how did you get to have your vba2c? Were your mw's supportive from the start or did you have to fight your corner? Also, do you happen to know anywhere (website wise) where I can find vbac statistics for hospitals? I've found them for Scotland, but unfortunately I don't live there!!
Thansk for your time/help.

foxabout2pop · 08/01/2007 15:59

Feedme - Hi - your name - was it inspired by Dr Who?

Mossy that quiz sounds very funny judging by the title

Rosylily · 08/01/2007 15:59

When I was pregnant with my first I used to watch women get on and off buses with babies bags and buggies thinking I will NEVER be able to do that!

Cried the first time I bathed ds1 as I felt so overwhelmed by the task! But it really doesn't take long to get the hang of it all!

3rdTriMossTer · 08/01/2007 16:16

Foxy, I was thinking that about "feedme" and Doctor Who I'm such a geek but I'm glad it's not just me!!! Did you see the Sarah Jane adventures btw?

That quiz was funny! It was questions like, "have you ever walked to the shops in your PJs and slippers?" well of course I have I'm from Kirkby ffs it was practically the uniform in my day! (I wouldn't now though I'm far too posh. )

I scored 60% though, but another girl in our office who is also a Scouser scored 45%, I think she lied!

Feedme I don't know I'm afraid; I'm sure someone here will though.

foxabout2pop · 08/01/2007 16:31

feed me LOL - that was the episode with the TV sets wasn't it and the Jubilee party?

We watched SJS - they're currently shooting a whole series of SJS!

But did you see Dr Who on Christmas Day? Wasn't it brill? I loved the car chase with the Tardis

foxabout2pop · 08/01/2007 16:32

Feedmenow - we're not making fun of your name BTW; we just really like Dr Who

foxabout2pop · 08/01/2007 16:33

OK hands up who has done the school run in their pyjamas?

...I've only done that once

3rdTriMossTer · 08/01/2007 16:53

Foxy I loved it, DT is such a McFittie as well!! And did you see the trailer for the new series afterwards, looks like the Black Dalek (Dalek Sec I think from cult of Skaro) is back... how exciting!!!!!!!! (Also I downloaded the music from the new series and on the way to work I listen to the Daleks' theme tune. Am thinking of calling my boss Davros instead of Darth Vader.)

Can you believe Elizabeth Sladen is 58?! I would love to have that figure NOW and I'm 29!!!

foxabout2pop · 08/01/2007 17:06

She's gorgeous isn't she?

Hey, come to think of it, Dalek is quite a nice boys name isn't it? I cannot beleive you listen to the theme tune though! LOL

I listen to "Follow me up to Carlow" on the way to work!! LOL

That tune still sends tingles down my spine, like it did when I was a kid.

Do you collect Dr Who cards?

DS has hundreds of doubls and we're looking for people to do postal swaps with. We've done some with Laidback's DS already!

What's a McFittie BTW? Is it a digestive buscuit?

foxabout2pop · 08/01/2007 17:07

(The Dr Who tune sends tingles down my spine, not Follow me up to Carlow)

divastrop · 08/01/2007 17:12

moss-i didnt realise you were the same age as me.when is your birthday?

i have never done the school run in pj's.i have to have a bath and get dressed and put make up on before i consider leaving the house.i think its cos ive always lived too far from the school to justify not doing so.i did used to go to the offy next door to where i lived a few years ago in bare feet sometimes(to get my 10 fags and bottle of lambrini)

kitty-i can change a newborn/small baby nappy in less than 30 seconds.changing a now crawling dd2 when shes pooed can take up to 5 minutes(or 10 if im late going somewhere).oh the joys.

3rdTriMossTer · 08/01/2007 17:15

Foxy have you heard the Orbital re-mix of the theme tune? The album version is good but they did a live one at Glastonbury one year and it is ACE there is even a quote from Tomb of the Cybermen in it.

By theme tune I mean the music created for the Daleks by Murray Gold in the new series.

McFittie is slang for a good looking bloke. I think it is to do with McVittie the biscuts and 'fit'. Having said that Doctor Who as played by DT is my dream man.

I don't collect the cards. I have to draw the line somewhere! Although I think Bertie will be the perfect excuse (poor, unsuspecting innocent child) to indulge my addiction. Bring on the playing cards, magazine, game, associated toys...

kiwibella · 08/01/2007 17:16

foxy... was that once today??? I would love to go to work in my pj's - I'm tempted to start taking in my slippers now that I only have one pair of shoes left that fit my swollen feet. I often go to the supermarket in my slippers... apart from being blue, they are not obviously slippers.

Good luck with the move Laidback... it's been so mild, I think you will get away with flip flops . You might want to keep the cardy handy tho.

Good luck with your choices Diva... I hope things work out how you want them to.

Boo... my mother is a bit like that too, well intentioned but... sometimes it is great being a million miles away.

I thought about you all loads today and resisted the temptation to log on. 24 days until half term - we were all counting at our staff meeting tonight. Such dedication . The weird thing is knowing that I won't be back after the break and they all will.

3rdTriMossTer · 08/01/2007 17:16

Diva now I need to know did you think I was younger or older? My thirtieth is on 4th April. I can't imagine I'll be having a big knees up!!! When is your birthday?

3rdTriMossTer · 08/01/2007 17:18

Kiwibella re: countdowns I have 38 working days to go until my maternity leave. It's marked on my work calendar!!

LunarSea · 08/01/2007 17:19

fox - I haven't done the school run in pyjamas, but did take ds to the office with me this morning (little regional office and nobody else due to be in today). He'd dressed himself and it wasn't until we got to the office that I noticed he'd still got his pyjama top on underneath his rugby shirt!

Then took him back to see the people at his old nursery this afternoon, and the little girl who was his best friend for 4 years was there too. The moment they saw each other they ran up to each other and had a big cudddle. He was only two when he first told us he was going to marry her - looks like the attraction hasn't faded! Actually she's a really nice little girl, and I get on well with her parents too, so he could probably do a lot worse.

foxabout2pop · 08/01/2007 17:43

Lunar - aaawww that's so sweet. I'm all for arranged marriages. DD is going to marry a good hardworking Polish boy - I just haven't found the right one for her yet.

I don't know how I'll feel when DS gets his first proper girlfriend - its a wierd thought really.

DD 3 likes DS's best friend Conor 6. Last time Conor was over, DD stood on a chair and said "Conor, I can do a really loud fart!" She proceeded to produce a real whoppa and Conor was visibly impressed. After he went home, she announced, "Conor is my best friend now"...she already knows how to make boys like her

I only did the school run once in my jimjams, and I did have all my make up on. I was really late so decided the make up was more important than the clothes. But when we last moved house I lost my make up bag for 2 days, so had to get my friend to take the kids to school until I found it.

Moss - there's a whole Dr Who trendy world out there I haven't discovered yet !

3rdTriMossTer · 08/01/2007 18:02

Aw Lunar bless that's adorable!!

Foxy I never thought I'd see "Doctor Who" and "trendy" in the same sentence

Hey, it's six o'clock. And I'm no longer a Consultant. So I feel no guilt whatsoever about shutting down my pc and going home - BYE!!

TheBlonde · 08/01/2007 19:10

I'm afraid all the Dr Who stuff goes right over my head

Not had a wonderful day here. A lightbulb has gone and managed to trip the lights off in 3 rooms but I can't reach the fuse box without a ladder
Seem to have a neverending cold but couldn't get a GP appt til Thurs so might go for an emergency one tomorrow instead

Also starting to panic about how big I am going to get over the next 11 weeks, labour, newborn, breastfeeding, everything really!!!!!!!!

(31 weeks tomorrow)

sexkittyinwaiting · 08/01/2007 19:14

God, ds1's lovely friend ( he is lovely actually) has accidently skidded on the remaining gerbil. It is no more . Bloody gerbils. I'm getting a guinnea pig next time, harder to squash.

foxabout2pop · 08/01/2007 19:30

Kitty!!! I'm really trying not to laugh here!!! !!

3rdTriMossTer · 08/01/2007 19:38

TheBlonde I think I'm in a minority re: Doctor Who don't worry!! I haven't gotten to panic stations yet but I've a little longer to go than you (29 weeks tomorrow).... I'm sure I'll be climbing the walls soon!

Kitty- hope your ds1 hasn't taken your gerbil's untimely demise too badly... yes get a guinea pig with a really strong backbone next time

TheBlonde · 08/01/2007 19:40

I saw that gerbil thread but didn't dare click on it

feedmenow · 08/01/2007 20:02

Fox & 3rd, no not Dr Who inspired. Just inspired by my constant hunger whethre pg or not!! I LOVE eating!
I too am a geeky Dr Who fan and I'm pretty sure that the Maureen Lipman TV said "HUNGRY" and not "feed me", but I could be wrong I might check with my even geekier brother who knows all their is to know about the Timelord.

Sexkitty, thanks for your message in August. It is a HUGE help for me to know how other people got through it. I have been considering a doula, so will maybe start checking them out in a couple of months time. And when you said your dd's head was big, how big did you mean exactly (my ds [born by section] had a 39cm head circ!!!!)
