Thanks for the good wishes Diva. I'm not sure about the baby - we were talking on mobiles and it wasn't the clearest line (she's in Ireland). I'm going to call her again tomorrow to get an update.

Boobooroastingonanopenfire · 01/01/2007 21:26

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Our babies are being born this year! Rah!

Callie - I'm glad you got checked out. I'm sure everything's fine, but it's nice to know they're keeping an eye on you.

We went to a friend's house last night. Another couple turned up with a 2 week old baby. Apparently he wants to feed every hour and a half - all day and all night. They looked totally exhausted. (He's their 2nd).

Managed to make it until about 12:30, then drove home.

Went to my parents today. We walked the dogs and had a big roast - lovely.

I'm really looking forward to getting everything sorted for LO now.

Diva, the walls must be very thin too when you can hear so much of the noise so clearly. It is awful for you, I hope an answer to the problem comes soon.

Callie how stressfull for you! Take it easy. Yes aren't we so lucky nowadays that if a baby does come early it'll be okay. Still, better keep baby in there a bit longer yet!

Fox, well done with the sorting! I have loads to do, waiting for a spurt of energy....

TheBlonde · 01/01/2007 21:45

Come on Diva - you have to tell us which double you have gone for!

Boobooroastingonanopenfire · 01/01/2007 21:46

Diva: she gave up BFing after a week as she hoped that formula would fill him up more, but it doesn't seem to be. He's still feeding every hour and a half, but now she has to faff around with making up formula in the middle of the night.

She is not impressed.

Sorry to hear about your sh*tty neighbours - I really feel for you.

kittyinwaiting · 01/01/2007 22:47

I think new borns do feed all the time, well that's my experience anyway.

Callie, hope they manage to get to the bottom of things. At least all seems to be fine with lo

Diva, which double did you plump for in the end?

Is it just me or do the weeks seem to be whizzing past? Sometimes I can't understand why I can't move etc. etc. Then I remember how preg I am .
My arse is getting bigger and bigger, like someone is blowing it up . I'm sure it's all water retention.

My mother was going on about my choice of baby's name. I kept saying that that was his name etc etc. She kept saying the name and saying it sounded stupid . How bloody rude. At least I feel better about sticking to my guns now. I just couldn't imagine calling him anything else, even if I wanted to iyswim.

eidsvold · 01/01/2007 23:00

we debated about a double buggy given that we do lots of walking and figured it would be easier for dd2 and the baby to go in the double buggy. Decided to go with a three wheeler and a toddler seat..... already had the toddler seat from when dd2 was born but did not buy the buggy that goes with it. Instead got a different one and it just did not wheel as smoothly as it could.

this one is ours getting it on Thursday when it goes on sale in one of our local shops.

kittyinwaiting · 01/01/2007 23:37

Looks great eidsvold. I never want to put any children into new buggies. They make them dirty

3rdTriMossTer · 02/01/2007 06:29

Callie congrats to your friend, and I'm really glad you are okay.

Booboo I know isn't it weird (but good) to think our babies' dob's will be 2007?!

Kitty the other day fil was banging on about our choice of name. You're right it really does concentrate your mind doesn't it?

Eids can't open your link?

Well, it's cake & coffee for breakfast and then back to work. Still, I can sort of console myself with the fact by the time I've had half an hour there, it'll be like I've never been away. (I said sort of!)

I would bet a couple of quid that he makes us do the late night... arrrgh!

harktheheraldfoxessing · 02/01/2007 08:30

I woke this morning thinking about double buggies, then came on here to find everyone talking about the...spoooky!

We have a double buggy but I recall it smells of fungus as its been in the garden shed for about two years . Will have to have a look to see if its worth saving or not. Hope so, as am broke after a splurge on children's clothes sales...

Diva - can your HA landlord help take some action for you? Your tenancy agreement will say something about your right to enjoy the peace and quiet of your home.

Kitty LOL at your inflatable arse!

Callie - listen, why don't you take it easy for a couple of days. I have mid-pregnancy bleeding and find that a couple of days bed rest makes it stop generally. Seems the late night dance might be linked to the bleed?

Hope everyone else is OK - Diva you must te;; us which buggy you went for....

31+1 (lil'boy )

TheBlonde · 02/01/2007 09:12

Re doubles - I am still set on the Phil & Teds but can't decide when to buy it

Tried to get DH to pick up some baby clothes in the sale last week but he failed - he can't cope with buying unisex, bless

On names, we have a couple in mind if it's a boy. Bit more stuck on girls. Definitely not telling our parents any of the options

Rosylily · 02/01/2007 09:27

Well my double buggy which was a fantastic bargain is called an Emmaljunga reduced from 900Euros to 200Euros. It has a double carrycot with it. Which I never used. The seats are all together side by side. It can face me or the front. It is bouncy and is the easiest buggy I have ever had to push. Before I knew I was pregnant I joked to my Dad that it would be worth having another baby to get some more use out of it! He had said 'your having another baby? ??'
And I said 'no, no, just joking!' (Found out 2 days later)

ANYWAY...I love my double buggy!

Last night I had a detailed dream was at a wedding...dh's and I was dreading having to tell him that I would be leaving him now that he had another wife cuz I knew he'd be upset

My christmas tree is down and I am slowly sorting, rearranging and tidying today. If I wasn't so cumbersome I would have it done in no time, instead I'm like a tortoise at work!

30wks2 (boy)

eidsvold · 02/01/2007 10:08

try this link

here this also then has a toddler seat that sits on the front so if needed dd2 can ride along.

3rdTriMossTer · 02/01/2007 10:40

Eids v impressive!!

TheBlonde I do wish we'd thought of that, not telling anyone the name.

We went to see fil and his dp the other day. Now we're going to call our ds Bertie, but have Bertram on his birth cert. It's a bit posh, but I think it will be nice for him to have the option of a "grown up" name. Anyway, fil kept suggesting names at us - I do mean at rather than to - and then his dp turned around and said "oh fgs, why on earth don't you just call him what he's going to be called? Why fuss around with a different name?" Dh was fuming, I had to calm him down!

Kitty I wish I had the excuse of being pg but my arse has always been huge. I should get one of those dayglo signs to stick on my back, "wide load", and those alarms that go off when lorries reverse.

Just had some good news; we're not doing the late tonight so I get out at six. Oh thank goodness!!! Still, I have only been in two and a half hours but it feels like a whole day!!

Rosylily · 02/01/2007 10:49

Eidsvold it looks great, be perfect for lots of walking.

Moss I'm a bum girl too, but I don't mind, prefer to have the easily managed big bum and small boobs figure. Even though I'm always impressed and fascinated by people's gorgeous big voluptuous bosoms!

I've got one of my lovely friends and kids calling today so better go prepare.

Rosylily · 02/01/2007 10:52

Oh yeah and meant to say, I really like 'Bertie' with Bertram option, think its a good idea and both versions a great name

3rdTriMossTer · 02/01/2007 11:13

Rosy atm I have huge bum, huge bump, huge boobs... and yet to support all this bulk I have really tiny thin little ankles! I'm sure they're going to snap with the weight lol!

Hope you have a nice day with your friend and kids.

3rdTriMossTer · 02/01/2007 11:31

Oh great. St Helens is in the national news today but not for anything good, it's a really upsetting story so I won't put it here.

I really don't live in the wild west, I promise.

leomincepiesandbrandybutter · 02/01/2007 11:35

Hi everyone,

Hope you all had great christmasses and new year and everyone is OK.

We had a really nice few days in the mountains. The weather was great, far too warm for this time of the year though.

Its trying very hard to snow here now so maybe winter has finally arrived! If it lasts a really, reallly, really long time them maybe I will be able to go snowboarding !

Just read a few of the last posts.... double buggies , not even thinking about it.
... and Kitty are you mad... the weeks are dragging by, I feel as if I have been pregnant forever !

Diva, I can't believe you neigbours can be so antisocial, inconsiderate and unreasonable. Can they really get away with this? Do they own the house?

3rdTriMossTer · 02/01/2007 11:51

Leo at the snow! It's just a miserable shade of grey here but no chance of any snow at all!

LunarSea · 02/01/2007 11:57

Moss - unless we change ou minds again (which is quite likely) we're probably going with a full name on the birth certificate/shorter version for general use combo too if it's a boy. Not telling you what though!!!

Actually a lot of ds's friends call him by a shorter version of his name, and he's just lately started saying "don't call me xxx, I'm xxxxxxx" - so be prepared for him to decide he actually wants the whole thing if he's aware of it.

3rdTriMossTer · 02/01/2007 12:01

Awww Lunar why won't you tell??!! (Only messing!)

I remember going through a really pretentious phase in mid-teens when I wanted to be called "firstname middlename" whenever anyone addressed me.

Everyone still called me Mossy!
