Thanks for concern guys, nothing else has happened so it's probably nothing. It was definitely vaginal rather than from broken skin, but I won't worry if nothing else happens. I do feel a bit achey at the base of my bump but I doubt if it's related tbh - just knackered from work today (yes, I'm still here ) and probably again my guts rather than baby. I think I need to go home and put my feet up.

Fox, haven't got placenta praevia as far as I know.

kittyinwaiting · 30/12/2006 17:44

callie, glad things are settlng down.

Diva, I've used paypal loads and loads and have never had a problem with it.

divastrop · 30/12/2006 19:47

callie, glad you are ok
Diva , I am always using ebay, and have always paid or had people pay me through paypal. it seems ok so far. good luck!

i have had my antenatal NHS classes invite- has anyone else? they are 4- 2 on labour, 1 on feeding and one on health visitors, and a visit of the labour wards but no set date yet. If you have been on these before, whats your experience.....?

harktheheraldfoxessing · 30/12/2006 19:55

Diva - LOL at the dream about the orange balloons - were they jaundiced?

Sponge - oh I'm glad you reminded me actually, I've had a letter about the NHS classes and they start this week ! The ones I went to with DS were interesting.

Just awoke from a two hour crash

spongecake · 30/12/2006 20:02

mine start week 2 of jan...have been asleep most of day, however am just about to go to kitchen and get some apple pie and cream have been so tired and heavy today. also feel a bit sick again -like i did at the beginning- also quite tearful, which I hate as my breathing gets out of control as though am hyperventilating. v scary for me and anyone unfortunate enough to be close by

kittyinwaiting · 30/12/2006 20:09

very at those sleepers amoungst you

harktheheraldfoxessing · 30/12/2006 20:29

Kitty - trouble is I will now wake at 3am for several hours!

Sponge you your apple pie and cream - I woke and had a custard tart! Am tempted to make myself a spritzer and break into the Roses choccies now......

AmieR · 30/12/2006 20:47

hello all.

you guys seem to get your antenatal classes nice and early! Ours are the first 2 weeks in Feb! When I'll be 36-37 weeks! And was informed that we'll be bombarded with info! whihc is gonna be great fot my pregnant brain.

Glad your BP is ok Diva.

Dog has wind which is seriously affecting my nostrils! pooey!

Rosylily · 31/12/2006 08:29

Muppet I'm sure he will turn soon, then he'll be headbutting you in the unmentionables instead

Diva very exciting about finding a buggy you really like, hope you get it soon!

The last time I had 'parentcraft classes' was over 15 years ago! I'm supposed to know what I'm doing now

Well my sis and family are away back to scotland this morning We had such fun though.
For new year I have planned....an early night. Anyone else being that boring too?
30 weeks today 10 weeks to go! (boy)

TheBlonde · 31/12/2006 08:45

It's gonna be an early night here too - I'm still fighting off the flu and DS got up at 6.30am. DH still sleeping

Annoyingly baby keeps going transverse as soon as I lie down - it's really uncomfortable!

harktheheraldfoxessing · 31/12/2006 09:07

Morning everyone

Is anyone going out tonight? Our neighbours opposite have invited us to a party - with kids - but not sure I can stay awake that late. Although DS could - he eventually went to sleep at 11.30pm last night!!!

The Blonde - can you feel your baby shifting position then when you lie down? I can feel mine wiggling more when I lie on my side, like having a cat inside you who's trying to get comfortable >

Anyone else getting impatient now? - I just can't wait to meet our little boy and cuddle him.

Its definately the last lap now isn't it?

31 weeks

divastrop · 31/12/2006 11:54

morning.

well i had fun last night, the bedroom window handle is broken and the thing had blown open in the wind and the frame bent so we couldnt close it.the repair people refused to come out even though i pointed out it could blow out altogether.it was too cold to sleep in the bedroom so we spent last night on the living room floor

they are coming out this afternoon to have a look though.its a big window and i didnt like the thought of it being open/missing for all the drunken people to see tongith when they come out of the club accross the road.

my baby was lying transverse when i had a scan 2 weeks ago,but im sure its breech atm cos im being kicked in the bladder.my other 4 were well behaved-head down from week 28-babies.think this ones going to be a handful.well,dd1 and 2 are both like me,nosey, gobby and stubborn.i think this ones going to be a nutcase like her dad.

dp is watching wrestling on telly and dd1 and ds2 have just started re-enacting it

rosy-i thought it was bad enough me being expected to remember parentcraft classes from 9 years ago.back then they didnt do the skin-skin contact etc and i remember them saying pethidine was great.

Boobooroastingonanopenfire · 31/12/2006 12:21

Hello!

We're going to friends for dinner this evening. I get to watch them all drink. (Although, actually, alcohol is the last thing I fancy atm - gives me chronic heartburn). They've got a 2 and a half month old baby girl for me to play with, though .

I'm not changing my festive name until the 12 days are up. So if Christmas Day is day 1, that would be... 6th Jan? Is that right?

Diva - so sorry for you at the moment. Hope they fix your window, and that next door have a power-cut. .

I'm dead impatient too, now, foxy. I'm trying to think of the birth date as 2 weeks further away than it actually is, as a precaution against going too mad when I'm late. (My Mum was 2 weeks late with both of us).

Amie - our dog's had a tummy bug all over Christmas, and hasn't been able to keep anything down. Luckily, DH is at home...

Our NCT classes start on January 9th. Really looking forward to them! I've done alot of reading, so I don't know how much I'll learn, but I'm looking forward to meeting other local first-time Mums.

Spongecake - I was sick again yesterday morning. If it does start again I'll be hacked off, as I've only had about 5 weeks really free of it, but at least this time we haven't got 40 long weeks stretching out ahead of us!

EDD 3/3
31 weeks
Boy

spongecake · 31/12/2006 12:29

afternoon just up...diva that sounds scary, at least they are coming today though. hope they fix it for you.

Rosylily, i am being v quiet too, but looking forward to my first new year for YEARS where I don't have to find amazing party etc- have been able to eat all over Christmas without a care for squeezing into party dress. Shall be at home, drinking hot chocolate and watching crap TV

am interested in all the differing advice from antenatal classes over a period of time... whats all this about policy for all babies to have a vitamin K injection the moment they arrive.. and me to have an injection to help my womb contract straightaway as well can't we wait and see? one size fits all policies scare me at work, never mind in a labour room.. or am i being silly?

TheBlonde · 31/12/2006 12:50

Hello
I'm just doing refresher classes with the NCT to meet some more mums locally

Sponge - you can opt out even if they claim it's their policy
DS had the Vit K orally

3rdTriMossTer · 31/12/2006 12:58

OMG I think I'm nesting. Can that happen at 27 weeks? I have been tidying since about half ten this morning. As a bit of background, I'm normally the world's laziest person and try to do the minimum amount of housework possible. Whereas I've even got a mop out. And the cilit bang.

Tonight we'll probably go out front. (We live on a row of terraces with a huge grass verge at the front.) Our neighbours a few doors down are organising fireworks, so we'll go out and see in the new year with the rest of the street.

Callie, glad you're okay!

Spongecake I could probably do with ringing the hosi to find out when my ante natal classes are, I think they're around week 34 but I'm not sure.

Diva if it's not bad enough with your neighbours now your window's broken? You are due some bloody good karma soon!!!

Foxy / Booboo, I am impatient too. But still eight weeks to get through of work! I am dreading going back to work on the 2nd, it seems to have crept up really quickly!

I'm going to ask to see if I can stop doing the Tuesday 830-8 in February, and say that if I can't, I'm going to have to take my maternity leave early. That might just work!!

Back to the cleaning now; I have yet to bleach the sides down in the kitchen and I am going to mop the living room. Just have to figure out where to put the dogs in the interim; it's chucking it down outside so I can't really put them in the back yard poor things!

CallieNewYear · 31/12/2006 14:13

Ok, I'm having a "what have I done" moment (actually, day). I'm fed up with this not sleeping lark. I was an hour late for work this morning because of it and I don't know how I'm going to get through the next six weeks till mat leave if this keeps up. I'm starting to think I'm just not going to have the physical strength for labour if I'm so knackered already. of those having naps yesterday.

Have never felt less festive at New Year (apart from the year I had a stomach bug....). DP is knackered too as he doesn't sleep well a lot of the time and was making noises this morning about being asleep by midnight anyway so think it could be very dull NYE. We were planning to go to the pub at least - hmmm. I think I'm going to end up on the sofa in the office at some point today.

Spongecake, I've only got two two-hour NHS classes, next week and following week. They run every month and you just turn up to them so in theory I could go again in Feb I suppose! I've got NCT ones in Feb, and they are pretty late in the day - the last one is the week before EDD! As I'm relying on them for breathing techniques etc, it's a little worrying... I'm also feeling a bit sicky again .

I think that's probably more whinging than any of you need to hear for one day, so I'll shut up now!

CallieNewYear · 31/12/2006 14:30

I've just looked at this BBC website story about how childbirth has changed over the years and have completely filled up. Seeing the pictures of the babies reminded me what this is all for and I now feel heartily ashamed of myself for moaning.

Boobooroastingonanopenfire · 31/12/2006 16:00

Sorry you're feeling rotten Callie. You are allowed to moan, you know! Pregnancy isn't exactly barrel of laughs. You're right though, it'll be so worth it...

Spongecake: if baby doesn't have the Vitamin K injection they have to have it administered orally 3 times over the next few days. I tink I'd rather get it over with, but it's entirely up to you. .

harktheheraldfoxessing · 31/12/2006 16:54

Callie - thanks for that link!

Mossy, do you fancy coming round to tidy up our place???? (grovel, grovel)

TheBlonde · 31/12/2006 16:55

I'm feeling wussy and can't face looking at childbirth links! I'm in denial!!

3rdTriMossTer · 31/12/2006 17:08

Well I didn't get round to mopping up the living room but the rest of the place is completely clean and shiny now!

I have learned a valuable lesson which I think is worth passing on:

Never, never, never go to the Asda at three o'clock on a Sunday before a bank holiday. Not if you're planning on buying any food, that is. The place was stripped bare!!

Foxy I'd love to, really I would, but you do live so far away...

I'm trying to decide now whether to have a kip for an hour to ensure I'm able to stay up until midnight...

Callie I'll go and check out your link.

divastrop · 31/12/2006 19:52

never attempt to go down the booze isle in tesco on new years eve with 4 children either

i only wanted a bottle of low-alcohol wine so i could at least have one drink.it was very scary.

last year dd2 got out of hospital on new years eve and i ended up having one glass of wine and falling asleep on the sofa at 10.30.my mum tried to wake me at midnight but i was flat out.i'd really been looking forward to my first drink since giving birth as well.

they have fixed the window for now, well, its properly closed so it wont blow open.its going to be a noisy night over the road.i hope next door are going to somebody elses party and not having their own.

sponge-mine all had the vitamin k injection,i cant even remember what its for but it must be important cos i would have refused it otherwise,i always look right into jabs etc for lo's.
the injection they give you to speed up the third stage means you only have to wait 5-10 mins to deliver the placenta rather than about 45mins which it takes naturally(i think).it also means you can get to the shower quicker...ahhh,the post-delivery shower, theres nothing quite like it

spongecake · 31/12/2006 19:55

thanks for the info on vitamin k - boo boo, what do you mean the baby has to have it? I thought i could opt out if I felt it was unnecessary...or have it if the baby was lacking in it? sorry to go on about this but am nervous of hospitals...their policies etc etc. am fed up with getting letters from docs/ hospital with grammer and spelling mistakes on them. Doesn't make me want them anywhere near me when am in labour! am starting to flap slightly, can you tell ??
