Diva sorry to hear about your bp, hope everything's okay for you. Callie is right I suppose, at least it's time away from your neighbour from hell. Can't imagine she is helping your bp either, what a total cow she is.
Callie we were lucky to get a second hand cot that was absolutely lovely, although we practically submerged it in detol anyway just to be sure! But if yours is broken why not get a new one? We are getting everything second hand except the buggy and the car seat, which mil has just bought for us. It's so nice to have at least something new I think!
TheBlonde I'm making two. I don't know enough about babies yet to make any baby-related ones, so mine are:
- To avoid getting stressed out by the w**kers I work with and certainly no more stand up rows!
- Learn how to cook (I only know one meal atm so I am aiming for five!)
I would say "pass my driving test" but that's a given anyway! Anyone else made any?
Foxy nice to have you back with a brand spanking new computer! As for financial implications: we can afford for me to take six months' maternity leave and then two extra unpaid months, but after that I need to get at least two days' work and mil will look after Bertie on those days. But there is a small chance dh might get a more senior job in that time, so I could take more time off. I would love to be able to take a whole year off, more even, but I know it would put a whole heap of pressure on dh, so I'm not mentioning it and just keeping my fingers crossed it happens!
Kitty:
The higher figure is the blood pressure at the moment when the heart is actually in the middle of the beat. The lower figure is the blood pressure in between beats.
The higher figure is called "the systolic" and the lower figure is called the "the diastolic". The systolic figure is more easily affected by things like whether you are a bit worried or upset at that particular moment.
"Normal" blood pressure is anything up to 120/80 or if you are over 40, 140/90. But if your blood pressure is low, they aren't really that bothered; all it means is you have to be careful when you stand up, because you might faint!!
HTH - mine is always on the low side btw, nearly fainted on the train into work one day, half scared the crap out of me!
