hello.

well last night wasnt the quiet couple time(ahem) i was hoping for as next door had karaoke from 5.30-10.30 then it started again at midnight,so i rang the police and it was turned off just after 1 when they visited.dd2 was woken by it and didnt go back to sleep till 2am,then i was woken at 4.30 by somebody knocking on the door-im not sur eif it was our house or next door but by the time it registered what the noise was and i stopped lying there scared s*tless enough to wake dp,the noise stopped.

iv ebeen half asleep all day and feel awful

ive actually seen a double buggy i like the look of but its only available mail order,so i may have to smile nicely at my mum/sister and hope i can borrow a credit card.i want a decent double buggy if im going to be using it for at least a year.

rainbow-if you are reading this then hope everything is ok x

rosy-i had 2 mince pies for breakfast then cheese and crakers for lunch

Oh Diva you poor thing can't believe how awful your neighbour is! What a horrible person. I hope you manage to at least get some sleep during the day.

Of course you could give us all her address and we could send something nasty through the post to her....

Rosy I do know what you mean about the smell a little bit anyway, I have finally started to wear deoderant for the first time in my life!!

Kiwibella I think those dreams are to make up for the fact that dh is finding rl a bit of a chore atm! I'm not very flexible with a huge bump iyswim! Still it is a bit odd. If welcome

On Thursday I have an appt with the mw and then after that mil is taking me shopping to the big mothercare in Warrington as she is buying our pram / buggy; there may be a sale on. We're dragging dh as well!

kittyschristmascrackers · 26/12/2006 19:53

Oh Diva, that's really awful. It does seem as if they're making it worse on purpose. I don't suppose there's a lot you can do until the new year, what with councils being on holiday etc.
Keeping fingers crossed for you.

Rosy lol at your stinkiness . Not sure if I'm stinkier but I do want to wash all the time .
I'm dead tired after 2 lots of christmas preps and one to do on Thursday.
Baby seems to have grown alot as well, I'm getting more and more painful/strong prods from him, mostly on my right side, but sometimes I wonder if i've got an octopus in there instead of a baby. I think" What on earth are you up to in there?"
I wish I could have a peak inside

divastrop · 26/12/2006 20:32

moss-sleep during the day with 4 children age 1-9 is virtually impossible.i dont know about sending nasty things through the post i'd just love to send simon cowell round there

my bump seems to be huge and in the way and doing my head in.i forgot how much i hate being pregnant.i havent had a ny rude dreams for a while but thats the last thing on my mind atm cos i just feel like a fat lump and sure dp is going to escape with somebody young slim and childless at any moment
i am also having to wash more often, and apply deoderant 3 times a day rather than just one.soon i will also be hairy as i wont be able to reach my legs to shave them

sod getting steralised,im getting a sex change, then i can blame everybody else for my bad moods,i wont pee myself every time i cough, and i can sort out the neighbour problem with my fists rather than trying to be all reasonable and assertive

OP posts:
divastrop · 26/12/2006 21:57

they were at it again so dp went round there and she said he was just bored and likes complaining, shes been doing it for 3 years and shes not going to stop so its tough s*t.ive had enough.

OP posts:
kiwibella · 26/12/2006 22:01

thank goodness you mentioned the increase in smell!! I thought it was just me - we don't have a shower atm so it's running a bath whenever I want a wash. Lots of deoderant too . On the flip side tho... I've noticed that my hair can go up to four days without needing to be washed. Baby is getting more uncomfortable, my belly suddenly seems tighter and heavier. I seem to groan like an old lady with every movement I make (not many laying on the couch all day!).

Simon Cowell sounds like the best solution for your inconsiderate neighbours Diva!! Maybe even some recordings of insults that you could play loudly through the walls at the end of each song. You seem so patient, not letting the lack of sleep get you down. Hope the day of dozing has helped and you don't feel so bad now.

kittyschristmascrackers · 26/12/2006 22:27

Diva, tbh, they have always seemed like very unreasonable people and I think you've been very good about it. The more you complain, the worse they might get iykwim. What are you planning on doing now?

MossletoeAndWine · 27/12/2006 09:01

Diva your neighbour does sound really unreasonable, and if you are feeling depressed already, lack of sleep and the stress of this will only make you feel worse.

Do you have any friends or rellies who would look after the dc's for a day or two just so you could get some rest?

Iirc you're in a housing assoc? Would they move you to another property do you think? I know it's not ideal as it would mean she had "won" but if it goes on much longer it will affect your health.

Or do you have a "cunning plan"? I am impressed at how restrained you are, think I might have been tempted to lamp her by now.

AmieR · 27/12/2006 10:18

back to work.. grumble grumble

Diva... I'm really feeling for you at the moment, I'm realy tired and getting sleep and don't have any other LO's.. I can't even imagine how stressful this is for you.

Kitty - now the christmas post will be sorted out a bit, I'll pop that DVD in the post to you.

Won't be able to get to the sales till sunday! hope there is some useful stuff left! LOL

LO reduced my feeding capacity by no end. I even had to walk it off! That's very unlike me. Drank 5 bottles of De-alcholosied wine over the festive period. I was actually wanting the police to pull me over, just so when they asked "have you had a drink this evening Madam" I could have gone "Yeah, a bottle and a half of wine thank you officer" Just to see his face!

Rosydingdongmerrily · 27/12/2006 10:37

Diva what a shame you are having to put up with this nonsense from your neighbour.

Kiwi I like your idea of playing Simon Cowell sarky comments after each song
Diva maybe you could ask her if you can have a go! Do a bit of singing, the baby will love it! Then you can call on her all the time til they get rid of the machine cuz they are so sick of you coming round all the time and singing better than them

And Diva I am sure your dp is perfectly capable of resisting all the unpregnant women out there, but I must admit I feel a bit insecure at the moment too. My dh isn't even here and I keep imagining him bantering with all the pretty women and my imagination is sending me into a jealous huff with him! I keep sending him horrible texts cuz it pisses me off that he is living a bachelor life down there, and I'm a xmas pudding! I keep having to remind myself that if he was here 24/7 he would be driving me mad!

Am trying to sort out the post christmas mess a bit today.

Anyones belly buttons starting to turn from inny to outy yet? Mine is half way there!

divastrop · 27/12/2006 12:02

thanks for all your support everyone-i found out last night that the house next door is private rented so im going to go to the housing association and ask if they are able to get in touch with the landlord.im also going to phone the environmental health officer direct.

kitty-i think shes just an unreasonable person and would have carried on regardless.she was telling her 6yo old to get in bed and go to sleep from 11.30-11.50 last night(i could hear her cos i was giving dd2 a bottle).the 6yo was out playing at 10pm xmas night-two of the other kids knocked on our door asking if we'd seen her cos they couldnt find her

i actually managed some sleep last night so i feel alot better today.just waiting for dp to get up so i can go and start trying to sort things out

You go Diva, good luck... let us know how you get on.

Rosy... how come your man is away? I'm sure that he would be a helpful ray of sunshine if he was at home with you . It's great to be missing him but cut the mad txts!!1

Annie... poor you, back to work. I couldn't do it so soon! I hope that things are quiet or, at least, manageable for you. I'm sure there will be lots of bargains left for you on Sunday - and they will be even more mega-reduced!!

I went out to Bromley this morning because they have Pumpkin Patch... yay, a NZ store!! I had picked up a few bits from PP when I was in Oz a little while back and my mum has been sending me parcels. I also got some great bargains at Marks (nursing bra's too - reduced!!) but was a bit miffed when I got home and realised the sizes on the clothes weren't what the hangers said. Oh well! I have taken a "stock-take" and seem to have about 20 vests (ok, maybe 10) so I will ask dh to take me shopping again on the weekend for pj's and trousers .

I'm fighting the urge to have a wee sleep. A habit is forming!! So, off to do some more tidying and rearranging.

Rosydingdongmerrily · 27/12/2006 17:54

Hey Kiwi have a wee sleep! Ooh I could go for one myself! You are very right I must stop sending huffy txts to my dh. He lives and works away and travels up every 2/3 weeks to spend a few days with us. He's quite used to my moods though, he just ignores me

My friend and fellow mumsnetter Oonaghbunagh had her little baby girl this morning by c section. I can't wait to see her and its making me so impatient to be at that stage myself too.

divastrop · 27/12/2006 19:44

kiwi-listen to your body,if you need to sleep you need to sleep!

rosy-i dont know how you manage to just send huffy txts to your dh.i dont understand men working away as it is...i certainly couldnt cope with a relationship like that.i'd rather be on my own.you seem very laid back

i sent off my maternity grant application form today.i want this pregnancy over with and the baby to be here but at the same time it seems scary how fast its going.it didnt hit me till i asked the doctor to sign the form and thought'hang on,it only seems like 5 mins since i was sat in this room waiting to see what the pregnancy test revealed'

OP posts:
kittyschristmascrackers · 27/12/2006 20:43

Diva, if I took any notice of my body I'd have climbed into bed about a month ago and I'd stay put until about a month after the birth

divastrop · 27/12/2006 21:16

ok...i meant sleep if that option is available to you

OP posts:
rainbowgirl · 27/12/2006 21:29

hi ladies, hope you are all doing well and have had a good festive season, just posting to let you all know that i'm still out here and to send good wishes to everyone and hope you and all your little ones are doing well.. xx

kittyschristmascrackers · 27/12/2006 22:20

Big hellos rainbowgirl . How are you doing and feeling? Are things any better? It would be lovely if you feel up to chatting xx

kiwibella · 27/12/2006 23:07

pregnancy over, Diva??? Oh, no... that would mean getting this thing out of me - I'm petrified!!!

I'm off to bed now . I deliberately stayed awake this afternoon because we have been so lazy the last few days, spending all day on the sofa watching movies, staying up really late, and catching cat-naps. When I went to bed at a 'normal' time last night, I couldn't sleep. I've got lots done tho - caught up on emails and tidied cupboards... nesting instinct?!?!?!

We have just finished watching the Quiz of the Year show... what an absolute belly laugh. There were times when we were crying!!

Rosydingdongmerrily · 28/12/2006 09:34

I managed to have a good sleep! was only up twice with the beasties. Woke up at 08.18. I feel great Bump is annoying me though.

I don't care about the labour, I can't wait to get to the end now and have him here, and start getting slim again. If I could have all that and great sleeps -
life would be heavenly!

Diva, I am always attracted to 'free spirits' and I realised eventually that I am the one with a problem with commitment and intense closeness. So even though I then have to suffer the flip side of that, Dh is my perfect match cuz he needs space too and he can function on a stretchy elastic and still be devoted to me and vice versa.

Having babies is what complicates things and I'm the one who has to surpress my urge for freedom and be steady for the security of the children. That's a constant struggle for me but with loads of compensations!

Rainbowgirl its great to hear from you, hope you are doing ok.

MossletoeAndWine · 28/12/2006 10:34

Amie what a pain being back in work so quickly after Christmas. Still never mind, not long now (when do you go off for maternity leave?)

Rosy my belly buttom is on its way out! Dh's friend yesterday, said "looks like it's flush at the moment". Flush! What a DIY phrase - I love it!

Kiwi if you are in the lucky position of being able to sleep, I would take advantage!! I say "would"; I frequently do atm with me being on hols. Argh what am I going to do when I'm back in work? Best not to think of that atm! Was that Quiz thing the one with Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross on it, amongst others? I was pmsl at it!

Rainbowgirl it's great to hear from you again, how are things?

I have a mw appt today at one thirty then we're off to the big Mothercare in Warrington so mil can buy us a pram/buggy! How exciting!!!

kiwibella · 28/12/2006 11:01

That was the quiz, Moss... brilliant, huh!

I'm on hols too and really enjoying being at home... which bodes well . Dh's expectations are growing tho, leaving me little jobs to do. When I get back to work, it will only be a five week term - woohoo, OMG .

Glad you had a great sleep Rosy... the world seems such a brighter place after a good night . Hope you have a lovely day with your littlies.

Diva... any noise from next door last night or (fingers crossed) a peaceful evening for you too?

Have a fantabulous shopping trip Moss... hope you find a few bargains. All the very best for your mw appt.

AmieR · 28/12/2006 11:10

Moss et al - I'm actually down to doing 3 days a week now, thankfully, I work for a family business, and kinda just working till I can't anymore, and can actually work from home, but I'm worried about going stir crazy! So leaving it as long as I can.

Have fun shopping! We're off on Sunday and am actually excited.

DH finished the gloss work yesterday in the "nursery" it looks fairly nice at the moment. Will be good to see it with some furnishings though!

I watched that quiz last night too, I also wet myself.. thank god for Tena!

Actually, joking aside, serious face lol.. the amount of pressure when i stand up is scary, i feel so safe sat down, but when I stand up the feeling of everything wanting to fall out my lady bits is really not nice and is making me walk like I have something forced up my jacksy!

Also... my nipples are leaking a little.. is this normal at this stage?

Diva - I hope you had a quieter night.

Rainbow - glad you're around. Hope you and DD had a great christmas.

AmieR · 28/12/2006 11:15

oh Me and my pregnant brain (had "debate with DH about what a number the nice guy who mows our lawns lives at, I was swearing blind he lived at number 10, and was getting fristrated with DH as he just kept shaking his head... We live at number 10!) any way, I digress...

always forget this

christmasspongecake · 28/12/2006 13:55

hi there, hope you all had a good christmas... am 29 weeks today.. but not due til mid march which seems more than 11 weeks away.. have been whizzing through the thread and Diva, am so sorry re your neighbour, I too have nightmare ones upstairs, but I have just had them served with a formal warning from their landlord to keep the noise down- pounding music, turning it up when I ask them to turn it down, and they know I am pregant. my dp is a chef so not here most evenings, and its a bit scary to get up, buzz their buzzer, moan etc.

rainbow girl, nice to see you on line, even if briefly

bump has been either very active or very still. not sure if its sugar rushes from christmas food or sheer amazement at my mad family -last time we drive 2 hours there and back christmas day...

woke up feeling so ill today but better now- surprised as don't want to take lemsip etc - am going on maternity mid feb-well am taking all leave due of a month, then on maternity on due date. like yes, it will work like that

lovely to get on mn again and read all the news
