So sorry Roto Flowers

Tsotofamily · 23/11/2015 13:17

Roto and Lucky Sorry for ur losses Flowers

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 23/11/2015 13:24

Midwife appt went well and she said she is going to try her hardest to get my scan in early Christmas week so I can tell family Christmas Day. We will tell our boys as soon as we've had the scan.

I have decided to go for the general hospital to have the baby in as they have a new birthing unit attached with two birthing pools and two relaxation rooms with bean bags, cushions, music etc.

Here's something to make everyone smile. You know how I'm scared of blood tests (vein phobia) ,well I shot around so fast after she had done (I have to look away) that I only went and hit my finger on the needle. Grin Could only happen to me. Now my finger hurts more than my arm haha.

7+4

crazycatlady39 · 23/11/2015 13:25

So sorry to hear that Roto, take care.

I had my nurse appointment for flu jab this morning and she did a test which was positive. I had a sharp pain last night and brown spotting this morning (seems to have settled now), plus have had mild cramping since I found out (normal I think) so mentioned that and she suggested I go back to the dr next week. My blood pressure was also high (always is when I go to the dr but settles down, kind of white coat syndrome) but she wants me to get a home monitor to keep an eye on it, plus blood tests for cholesterol / glucose this week. She said even though the midwife will do bloods she wants a baseline test for them to have in their records. Honesty, I felt awful after all that - I am about a stone overweight but she moaned about my BMI too. Plus what I really wanted reassurance about the spotting and she didn't help with that. The spotting seems to have settled now and having read all of your experiences I know it is very common, but it's worrying none the less. Anyway, she's going to refer me to the maternity unit so hopefully I'll get more news soon, have bloods booked for Saturday, and booked the doctor on Monday so that if I am still bleeding I can have a word with her. Sorry for the essay, just all a bit unexpected. Oh and dd 27 July according to her, so a few days later than I had estimated, so will update stats later.

Bluebell20 · 23/11/2015 13:39

Hi girls, just wanted to share that I had a scam phone call just now. Indian lady telling me that my computer was sending error reports and that I had downloaded a virus that she needed to fix. I played along for a bit - she wanted me to go to the Teamviewer website, which she would then have used to remote access my computer. I told her that I was not comfortable with her phone call (I remained polite, though - I don't like being rude to people) - at which point she hung up!

Reported to the police, but of course the number was withheld so they won't be able to do anything - but I thought it ought to be logged for statistics. Wanted to let you guys know in case it happens to you!

Bluebell20 · 23/11/2015 13:40

And Beautician, had that happened to me I would have been on the floor! Argh!

Stinkilinky · 23/11/2015 13:54

Thanks Bluebell, DPs Grandma had the same call the other day, luckily she didn't fall for it but strung them along for ages then told them she didn't even have a computer!

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 23/11/2015 13:55

Bluebell I almost was. Luckily looking at my finger distracted me from the fact is just had blood taken. I'm not squeamish about blood and I don't mind needles although not a huge fan. It's just big bulgy veins that make me feel sick & faint.

RoTo72 · 23/11/2015 14:04

Thanks everyone. I'm actually ok, tho don't know if it has hit me yet. Ur support means a lot. Wishing you all the very best and hoping for successful outcomes for you all. And hope u all have beautiful summer babies. I wont be trying again, couldnt go thru this again at my age. But iv great support from family and friends, oh has been a rock this last two weeks and if anything I think it has brought us closer. I'm blessed in I have my Ds, and am going to content myself with tlot. (after I grieve). Good luck 🍀 xxx

redstrawberries101 · 23/11/2015 14:15

Aw bless roto, wishing you all the best. Do you mind if I ask what your bleeding was like? I'm feeling very worried Sad

RoTo72 · 23/11/2015 14:24

It has been v light, brownish pink. Only one bit of red on sat. But had bad cramping. Seems to be coming more now prob after internal. Try not to worry Mel, ur scan went well. At my one two.weeks ago, which was internal, they already warned me it didn't look v promising. Try and stay positive, my age went against me too. I'm 43, and iv endemetrosis.

redstrawberries101 · 23/11/2015 14:25

Thanks roto. It's all very stressful isn't it. Wishing you all the best in the future in very thing you do. Thank you for all your support xx

RoTo72 · 23/11/2015 14:25

And id also pains in legs and lower back.

RoTo72 · 23/11/2015 14:26

Good luck mel. Really hope things go good for u. And there is no reason they wont. Xxx

gnat99 · 23/11/2015 14:31

Beautician, great to hear your booking in appt went well! Well done for not fainting Wink

I'm having mine tomorrow, am getting excited! Must have another look at that pink booklet with all the family history questions in it...

7+4 today

gnat99 · 23/11/2015 14:33

Sorry again Roto, it's even harder if you have decided not to try again. Sad

lilygirl81 · 23/11/2015 14:37

RoTo I commented on your other thread, but really sorry to hear your news. I hope you manage ok physically, and be kind to yourself.

Mel I really hope that they will give you a scan on Friday, but I would just turn up at the EPU if things feel like they are getting worse.

I had to sit through a course at lunch, right in the front row. Spent the whole time trying to either no faint or throw up, and being really uncomfortable, as well as trying desperately to stop my stomach rumbling. I'm not sure if I should just tell my boss, he knows I had a MC last month as I broke down when asking to go home when it happened, but I'm a bit scared to. Partly I'm scared because he is leaving soon, and I really want to go and work with him at his new place, but if I've let on about the pregnancy he might be worried about coping when I'm on maternity leave. But on the other hand, he might be happy for me to work part time which could be handy as we can't afford for me to be off too long as I'm the main earner (DH can only contribute £240 a month to the bills etc at the moment, which doesn't come close)

Ellizardo · 23/11/2015 14:38

Roto - oh i so sorry. hope you enjoy your lovely family especially this time of year, you are blessed indeed.

gnat99 · 23/11/2015 14:43

Me again, just replying to various questions from over the weekend:

Gx91 I'm feeling well today, thank you. Working till Wed, then off to Poland for a long weekend! Partly visiting friends, partly mini-break. Fingers crossed all will continue to go well with pregnancy while we're away, somehow it makes you worry more.

Sonia, I definitely get more nauseous when I'm tired. My worst nausea is always in the evening, or if I'm exhausted after work. I still have not actually puked, but I brought a bowl to bed for the first time on Saturday night, just in case......

Feline, I have definitely had pains in my legs, especially last thing at night and first thing in the morning.

Ellie, I phoned up about a facial and they said it would be fine as long as they didn't use the electrical equipment or the essential oils, but that everything else would be fine. Shame you didn't get yours, that would definitely have reduced me to tears! I was only on the phone to the salon to cancel my first IPL hair removal appointment, as that's not recommended in pregnancy either. Would have been so handy to have had that done before now! Oh well, I'll just be a bit hairier for a while, I think. Doubt I will be up to much self-grooming as bump progresses.

And lastly, to all those who were talking about dtd, I actually felt quite in the mood in the first week or so after BFP! Definitely more so than usual. But that's totally gone by the wayside this past week, am so exhausted and achey that I have barely thought about it. It's definitely hard on those DPs: one minute we are TTC and have a strict schedule for dtd, and next thing we can't bear it most of the time Confused.

Ellizardo · 23/11/2015 14:47

Stinkilinki - my DS is 8 months today so I totally understand your WTF immaculate conception story! I'm reassuring myself that they'll be best mates being so close in age!

Beautician - you're like Sleeping Beauty, love it!

But crazycatlady - what the hell? that's so upsetting that the midwife focuses on all the negative stuff conveniently forgetting the whole reason you're there which is in itself a wonderful thing. i found attitudes changed so much from person to person - for every fantastic midwife, there'd be the one that shook her head and looked appalled and raised her eyebrows at a little joke about chocolate or some such....avoid her if you can next time.

mackinnonka · 23/11/2015 14:52

Hello everyone! Not sure I will keep up with this thread, its pretty quick moving! But wanted to say hello and can I join the club please Grin

I'm expecting my first, had a dating scan at the weekend which puts me at 6+4 today, due date 14 July 2016!

Any other July 2016 mums to be in Essex?

gnat99 · 23/11/2015 14:53

crazycatlady, I agree with Ellizardo. If you can get a different nurse in future, do! That was really unhelpful of her to worry you at such an early stage when you need reassurance. Although at least she did refer you and give advice. Good luck with doc appointment.

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken · 23/11/2015 15:10

Hi mackin welcome! I'm in Essex. Our due dates are two days apart. Whereabouts in Essex are you?

mackinnonka · 23/11/2015 15:22

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken - I am in Wickford, how about you?
