Wanting- www.babymed.com/is-my-hcg-blood-level-normal

I was looking at that this morn! Seemed a bit more accurate than another table I looked at.

Is anyone on here doing the progesterone trial? I was offered it at the Hosp today, apparently for anyone who has had bleeding in early pregnancy, they are given either progesterone tablets or placebo to use twice a day until 16 weeks. They want to see if risk of miscarriage is reduced. They said it's not harmful to the baby as we produce higher progesterone during pregnancy anyway but given my medical history I'm not sure if it's for me. Just thought I'd ask if anyone is doing it. It's uk wide X

wantingno2 · 20/11/2015 22:59

melvali I did the progesterone trial when I was pregnant with my son I was one of the first to do it its a double blind studie so you don't no weather you have progesterone or placebo until the trial had finished and everyone on it has given birth even the nurses don't know who got what it's all computerised I had placebo I found out when my son was 6 months old I was so happy that it was all my doing and no drugs after 8 miscarriages it was such a relief xx

Gx91 · 20/11/2015 23:15

Ellie - gona call them on Monday to see if they can fit me in before then , not a happy bunny today X

mascara I had mouth ulcers shortly after my bfp. Swishing warm salt water around my mouth a couple of times per day helped to get rid quickly. And for chapped lips I swear by Carmex (the pot not the tube)

gnat99 · 21/11/2015 07:06

I had mouth ulcers too last week. Often get them when I'm run down or low in iron. I can also recommend salt water. The only other remedy I've ever found effective was a prescription-only paste which has now been discontinued. Typical!

And yes, I too find that Carmex pot is good for chapped lips!

BelOfTheBall79 · 21/11/2015 07:23

Hi ladies, didn't post yesterday as iPad battery went. Melvali so pleased to hear your news. Must be such a weight off your mind. Lucky and Roto hoping for the same for you too.

And welcome to all the new thread members, congrats on your BFPs!

BelOfTheBall79 · 21/11/2015 07:33

So, I went for my 7 week scan yesterday! Was v nervous as we had an increased chance of an ectopic so was just hoping for good news. The nurse commented on how worried I looked but I explained it had been a pretty horrendous year fertility wise given I had an ovary removed this time last year and then a long wait for IVF! So she put me at ease and said not to worry if we couldn't detect a heartbeat as 7 weeks is still early.

I had an internal scan and the first thing she said was that it was all in the right place so not ectopic!! By this point I could feel my eyes starting to well up, so relieved. Then she said she would look for the heartbeat and it came up immediately! I can't tell you how amazing it was to see it, beating away so fast on the screen. The nurse said "your baby is saying hello straightaway"!! By this time obviously the tears were rolling down my cheeks (happy relieved ones though) SmileGrinSmile

Think seeing the little heartbeat made it feel real for DH too. Could see his eyes glistening too (he NEVER cries). He kept saying yesterday "I'm going to be a dad!"

Here is a pic of our little bean Smile

Thanks all. It's so nice being able to share all this with you guys. Youandme hope your scan goes well today!

gnat99 · 21/11/2015 09:48

Thanks for sharing the great news, Bel! A nice positive image, just what we needed to start off our weekend Smile

It's going to be a long 4 weeks for me waiting for our scan at 11 +3! Couldn't afford early scan, but at least when we have ours they can do nuchal test as well, then we feel safer telling family at Christmas.

Found out yesterday that friends of ours had a miscarriage recently. Don't know how far along (DH didn't ask) but they had started to tell people :/ Made me sad and even more of a nervous wreck than I was already!

Congratulations to all new people joining.

Lovely scan photo Bel it looks a lot less like a seahorse/blob like the scans on apps, so nice to get a clear picture.

Fingers crossed to those still waiting for results and tests, I hope you have a nice weekend and manage to relax a little. Though I know that will seem hard.

Yesterday I told my pilates teacher... I go to a lovely class with a group of ladies and men who must all be 60+ which is a little disconcerting at times. Our teacher is lovely but really pushes us, very passionate. I can do some things better than them - but it's a real reminder we are all good at different things!!
I had explained I was a little under the weather (as I'm feeling more and more sick in the mornings) but after the class I felt I should tell her. She immediately was very excited, full on mother hen mode, thinking of the future months, bringing in a Swiss Ball, exercises I should avoid.... Wanting me to bring the baby in (?! I think I hid my bloody-hell-this-is-happening face!) etc.

l'm only 6 weeks, but this is further than I got last time. It was so lovely to tell someone and see them be genuinely so excited.... We are still being cautious but I'm almost allowing myself to get more excited.

Hope you all have a nice weekend, and good luck to those with results and tests ahead xx

Good morning all

Bel that is an amazing scan picture, I'm so happy for you.

I feel awful this morning, nauseous and cramps so bad I had to do 2 more tests to tell myself it was normal. Did anyone else get the trots at the start? My cramps feel life AF ones, then build to almost unbearable and I have to run to the loo. DH has made me a hot water bottle, but i feel so awful I can hardly cope with the extra warmth, even though our flat is freezing. Please tell me this is normal and will pass?

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 21/11/2015 10:09

Bel great scan. I don't think I've ever seen one so clear this early. You must be so happy.

Lily I had diarrhoea early on when I was pregnant with ds3. This time around I'm constipated Sad. My cramps at the start felt like Af ones and like you I had to go to the loo, only I struggled. The pregnancy hormone is what does it so it's a good sign albeit not a very nice one.

We have a 4 year olds birthday party to go to today. I think ds3 will love it. I wish I could just stay in bed all day. I scoffed way too much Chinese food last night but woke up with a grumbling, hungry tummy. What's that all about.
