Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 41st grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 40th grads thread is HERE

The thread we have graduated from is HERE in its 55th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread HERE
for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

HERE is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates.

Oh poor little lamb, I hope she gets better soon Brew

ThursdayLastWeek · 15/11/2015 07:23

molly it is a thing - but if you take the lactulose, you can't stop it falling out anyways!

What is a 'training' scan please?

I mostly had a lovely day yesterday, parkrun was wet but friendly, we went into town and bought ourselves a new bed and mattress, tidied and cleaned up the house after a week of renovations.

Then just as the end of strictly I puked spectacularly into the kitchen sink, and then didn't stop all night Sad. I've managed to keep down a glass of water this morning, but I feel awful. So mini sky has my sympathies this morning.

Oh no Thursday, that sounds rubbish. Do you think you have a bug? Sympathies to mini Sky too.

What's everyone up to today? Weather is miserable here so going to try to finish the nursery. Will put pics of FB when it is done.

jellypi3 · 15/11/2015 09:19

Gosh you poor viroids, hope you all feel better soon!! :)

Thurs it was at a hospital in London, they were offering scans to train their junior doctors, so you got to get some free shots of the baby :)

oooooooo exciting pud, i can't wait to do our nursery! still not sure what colours and theme to do, i know i want animals but can't decide between woodland or jungle (or maybe both...)

we are packing today, i also need to go shopping for hospital bag bits, but the shops will be so busy!

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 15/11/2015 09:34

jelly I meant to say your haircut is really cute and you looked lovely in that top/dress you were wearing Smile

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 15/11/2015 09:39

Minisky is in good spirits, still a bit warm and very rosy cheeked today. Unfortunately, we had to cancel trip to MILs today. I haven't seen her since she was horrible to me after we announced the pregnancy then the drama with her and DP. I did send a card after she sent me roses to apologize though. I bought her and SIL wine from the region we visited in Canada and we were going to have a bonfire and make smores with real graham crackers. Have promised to do them with the kids after lunch anyhow. Thank goodness for the microwave!

ThursdayLastWeek · 15/11/2015 11:27

Well I've managed to keep a cereal bar and some paracetamol down and have a little snooze So I think I'm on the mend.
My poor tummy is sore from all the retching, I really feel for all the viroids who have full on MS. It really does cut you down to size doesn't it?

DH is taking DS out for lunch and swimming this arvo, so I'm going to enjoy a few hours of not much at all.

Poor minisky and Thursday! Get better soon!

Lactulose has no affect on me unfortunately. And it tastes bloody vile!

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 15/11/2015 14:21

Minime was kind enought to pass on her virus... I am now running a temp post nap Envy still starving though.

jellypi3 · 15/11/2015 15:03

Oh no! Hope you all feel better soon!!

FeatheredTail · 15/11/2015 15:58

Poorly viroids! Hope it passes quickly for you Sky and Thurs (and Minisky).

Glad all the scans went well yesterday!

I did something a bit silly today. I ate a pizza that had thick cut Parma ham on it. I only ate a couple of mouthfuls of ham, but I feel stupid and paranoid. It's not helping my paranoia that I have NO bump at all.

When did everyone else start to get their bumps? I just look as I always do, perhaps a little thicker round the middle but nothing noticeable. I'm 14+1

pretzelpieces · 15/11/2015 16:10

feathered I think it's fine if it's cooked? My bump really popped at 17 weeks.

thurs and sky get well soon Flowers

FeatheredTail · 15/11/2015 16:34

Did you have much of a bump before 17 weeks Pretz? I can feel a "compactness" when I'm in bed that feels like a tiny bump.

jellypi3 · 15/11/2015 16:38

feathered I've eaten loads of parma ham, I never knew it wasn't allowed lol.

Also my bump appeared about 17 weeks too. 14 weeks is still very early. Don't stress :)

FeatheredTail · 15/11/2015 16:43

It was just that it was really thick - almost bacon like. I think I need to chill and just forget it!

Thanks for the reassurance on both ham and bump. Just wish my bloody mother would stop saying "you're so small. You're looking VERY SMALL. I think you're TOO SMALL"

Grrrrr!!!!

honeysucklejasmine · 15/11/2015 16:53

Tell her to butt out Feathered. I can still suck in my bump now and I am 25+4 so don't worry. Baby is normal size so guess it's just tucked in deep.

FeatheredTail · 15/11/2015 16:58

I am direct with her Honey - it's the only way. And this is the woman who was 6 stone 10lb when she fell pregnant with my sister!!! She's just a fuss pot, but I really don't need it. Reassuring to know you can suck in at 10 weeks ahead of me. How have you been feeling? All ok I hope

oneyorkshirepud · 15/11/2015 17:10

Ha ha I've eaten a fair bit of parma ham/salami and I did know it was against guidelines. Oopsie. Grin If it was cooked it is definitely okay though.

Feathered my mother keeps telling me how MASSIVE I am (bump is measuring 2cm under) and how she only put on 1 stone when pregnant and didn't get any stretch marks. Yes mother dear, that's lovely. She did put the cot together for me today though so I forgive her! Still holding out hope for no stretch marks but depends when baby arrives I suppose!

FeatheredTail · 15/11/2015 17:16

That's another of her favourites Pud - my sister was covered in huge stretch marks by her second pregnancy - cue Ma, in an astonished voice "I didn't get a single one! NOT ONE!" And looking around gleefully. ((Really hope I take after her in that respect))

honeysucklejasmine · 15/11/2015 17:33

Yeah OK thanks. Baby has been pretty active (hope it feels guilty) but the real issue of course is the fluid levels, so hopefully when I have another scan on Thursday they are at least constant if not higher than last time.

Jcandy · 15/11/2015 17:33

My family remark on how small I am. As if they expected me to morph into this giant round thing......can't win either way!

Sorry for those that are feeling ill Flowers

Nighties for birth and pj's and big pants for post birth purchased Smile Oh and a tens machine. Almost at the point of putting all my stuff into a bag and calling myself ready.......

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 15/11/2015 17:46

People keep saying I look small Feathered but I feel gigantic. It is very much down to your frame and how you carry.

SecondCupOfTea · 15/11/2015 17:54

We're slowly getting things sorted. My folks came to visit and my mom has handed over her first batch of knitted stuff (2 cardies, a hoody, a sleeping bag, hats, mittens, booties). She's gone home with a fresh list of hoodies, blankets etc.

Also won an Ikea Gulliver changing table on eBay - £15 as opposed to £65 new. Just need to pop out in the week and pick it up.

Next purchase is a co-sleeping cot and I'm hoping for some black Friday deals.

Discofairypants · 15/11/2015 19:32

feathered I'm 14+2 and don't have a bump, just look like I've Put a bit of weight on. When I wake up in the morning and my bladder is full, I can feel a solid ball ... Which is weirdly on the left hand side! But other than that, I just look like I've been over eating!

Last time people used to go on about how small I looked for ages ... Then when I got to 30 weeks it was 'oh my God how are you going to last 10 weeks ..you are massive'. So you can't really win. People really ar clueless so ignore them. Thing I hate is when people call you fatty, like it's acceptable because your preg ... That used to give me rage!

For the record, I gained 4 stone without a single stretch mark so don't worry ladies!

My sickness cure seems to be chocolate donuts ... Help!!

oneyorkshirepud · 15/11/2015 21:42

Urgh, I think chocolate doughnuts would make me feel ill at the best of times. I'm a pureist though; jam doughnut or nothing. Those weird ones with custard in? WTF are they all about?! But whatever works for you is good ha ha!

Well done to Tea and Jelly for getting organised. Getting there here too, just waiting for a few more deliveries of last minute bits and then need to do a Primarni trip on mat leave.

We have pretty much purchased everything for baby now and I thought it might be useful for those of you in the early stages to see what we spent on what. We tried to do it pretty cheaply but you could probably do it a bit cheaper if you REALLY shopped around:

Pram/pushchair combo, cot/cot bed, sling, baby bouncer, baby bath, sling, few other bits - £300 from a friend - absolute bargain.

Chicco next to me crib (ebay) - £100

Car seat and base (new) - £200

Daisy classes plus various baby/birthing books and CDS - £100

Mattresses for cot bed and chicco (new) - £150

Baby clothes/blankets etc - given by lots of lovely people.

Accessories - swaddle, thermometer, few bottles and a few bits from nearly new sales - £50

Moses basket, new mattress and stretchy sling - lent to us by a friend

Chest of drawers, ikea poang chair and fabric for recovering (this was my biggest 'extravagance' at £36!!) Total £100

Nursery paint - £50. Curtains and lampshade - tesco club card boost, ta very much!

So if we round up a bit i think about £1100 for EVERYTHING. My SIL managed it for £600 which is seriously impressive, but she is even thriftier than me! This was probably spread over 5 months of buying so while it is a lot of money (to a tight northerner) it hasn't hit us too hard.

Places where I think we did well:
The nursery; cheap furniture and decor. When it is totally finished I will post to Facebook to show what we did but it was v cheap as I was too tight to pay for Etsy transfers
Pram and Cot bed; that was mostly luck really.
Friends who are amazing
Accessories like changing mats, changing bags etc from nearly new sales

We could have saved more money by:

Getting a different car seat/base but we wanted one that fitted the pram so we were limited maxi cosi. I was still happy with £200 for the seat and base though.

Just having one cot instead of a moses basket/chicco and cot bed, this would have saved money on mattresses too. But I think this combo will work for us.

Just done NHS antenatal classes without Daisy/borrowed books from the library perhaps?

Anyway, hope that helps. I've had so much help from this lovely group of ladies so if I can help pass a bit back on then I will be really happy. Grin
