I really want to find out so I can start thinking of names Smile took us forever to choose a boys name last time!. I'd love a wee brother for DS but would also love a wee girl too, so I really don't mind either way.

ODog · 06/11/2015 08:41

I feel the same storm. Like I win either way.

GrouchyKiwi · 06/11/2015 09:03

Hi to the newcomers, and congratulations on the lovely scans! 6 days till mine; I am counting down. Wink

Pretty certain I have SPD/PGP now. Sad If it's like this at 11 weeks I don't know how I'm going to cope as I get bigger.

GrouchyKiwi · 06/11/2015 09:04

Re names: we have ours sorted, mostly. We do two middle names (the second is an old family surname) and I'm not sure DH is convinced by the second middle name for a girl. Will have to work on him.

frozensmoothie · 06/11/2015 09:48

Morning everyone!

I think you should go for the second round of pastries can't I can sympathise with the fat suit feeling.

We've started thinking about names too. We're ok on girls names but failing on boys names and I'm convinced it's a boy too! We're putting together a boys name shortlist and at least we've got a while to try and come up with something.

Mamama31 · 06/11/2015 10:58

Hello ladies! Congrats on the lovely scans Southy, storm and Vicky! I'm guessing boy for Southy girls for storm and Vicky! Just a guess no real knowledge!

My skin is great on my face at the minute but my chest and back are covered in tiny ugly pimples, chest is the worst! It's disgusting! Is there anything I can use for this?? Sudocrem had not worked at all.

I think we will find out the Sex and will probably book a private 16 week scan. We have a shortlist of boy and girl names but only really love one boy name and not sure I feel the same about the girl names may need a rethink!

Will be 13 weeks tomorrow! Yay! Still very tired from tea time and night nausea still lurking!! Wonder how long this will last. Boobs are not just as painfully sore, more slightly tender is that normal at this stage for soreness to wear off a bit? They are still 2 sizes bigger and feel inflated!!!

VickyHW · 06/11/2015 11:36

Grouchy that sucks, is there anything you can do for it?

I've gone a bit mental thinking of baby names for a girl, but we only have one boys name (it's pretty much definite we'd go for that one though if we had a boy). I like loads of girls names and made my husband give me a shortlist of the ones I liked (he vetoed some of the ones I really liked haha).
My Mum went name crazy when she was pregnant with me and I was very very nearly called Coco, but my Dad 'put his foot down' :D

Mama my boobs are a bit less painful than they have been previously - they're still heavy feeling and tender, but I'm not sobbing now if I brush them against a door (don't even know how I did that but I did it more than once) and hugging doesn't hurt them anymore! I find them very uncomfortable at night though, literally have to rearrange them when the rest of me is in a good position!

dervinia · 06/11/2015 12:20

...omg - just noticed I have developed a linea nigra apparently overnight - or perhaps, I just haven't been looking at myself. how exciting!

mamma my boobs have been a nightmare - I was having stabbing pains....but they seem to be a lot better now....I'm waiting till after scan to get maternity bras, but I have bras in all different sizes because pre-pregnancy I was always loosing and gaining weight...so I've pulled out all the big ones...night time is still really annoying....I'm sleeping in crop tops which has helped

PeasinPod1 · 06/11/2015 12:23

South and Vicky think boys, Storm girl.

Will find out this time thought not bothered as long as its healthy, just like a different experience this time. Always wanted a surprise with DC1 and so glad we did, was amazing finding out he was a (admittedly much longed for!) boy at birth Smile

TiffanyAtBreakfast · 06/11/2015 13:27

Hi all!

That's exciting dervinia!

We're planning to find out rather than wait, too excited! We've chosen our two names (plus a few reserves - we do have twins on both sides of the family - argh)

Our pool is a bit limited as we have a rather weird surname and not many things 'go' with it! Oh to be a Smith or a Jones... Grin

lindsayville · 06/11/2015 14:27

Hi girls!

May I join? I'm due around the 26th I think according to any calculators I use. I have 3 kids age 9 7 and 22 months so not a beginner here. I've no date for my scan haven't heard anything from the doctor. I'm 36 and nervous my mums going to be upset with me so the glossy shine of pregnancy is missing me out as so far apart from my partner I've told no one about the baby. Feeling miserable!

Mamama31 · 06/11/2015 14:58

Dervinia I have had some shooting boob pain at times it's very mild now though and find the only uncomfortable time is night time now. I think I will start wearing a crop top as would be more comfortable I'm sure!

Any spot/acne cures for pregnancy use??? I am desperate to get rid of this spotty chest and back! Seeing the Gp on 18th so I will ask then but If you ladies know what I could use please let me know Tia!!!!

TiffanyAtBreakfast · 06/11/2015 15:11

Welcome Lindsay and congratulations!! Why would your mum be upset with you?

Hi Mama, no advice for acne but I did use a really good tea tree oil face mask from Superdrug a few days ago and it really zapped my spots - They are pretty much completed cleared up. Just not sure it would be good for acne as I know that is potentially more sensitive?

GrouchyKiwi · 06/11/2015 15:11

You could try tea tree oil, Mama. I find that washing my skin morning and night with plain hot water helps keep the acne away (I only get it in early pregnancy). The tea tree oil might help clear up the worst spots. You need just a tiny bit, but it's a great antiseptic.

If it works, I suggest getting a bottle of tea tree essential oil, adding one drop to hot/warm water and using that as a wash twice a day.

lindsayville · 06/11/2015 15:52

I don't live with my partner and the birth of my little girl was fairly traumatic she feels I ve got enough on my hands to deal with anyway thanks for the welcome :)

Mamama31 · 06/11/2015 16:08

Thanks tiff and grouchy I will pick up some tea tree oil and try that mixed with hot water ?? Lindsay welcome and sorry to hear your feeling down hopefully your mum will come round to the idea and will be supportive to you. Will your partner be moving in with you when you have the baby?

lindsayville · 06/11/2015 17:04

No plans mama but that's my choice we have been together 4 and a half years but what we have now works for us though that may change he is the father of my little girl so not a new relationship or anything just not a conventional relationship either but we're happy

Greyhorses · 06/11/2015 18:02

Has anyone else had any sharp/aching pains in abdomen and pelvis? Some of them are like shooting pains and some more like an annoying throbbing or aching.
Do you guys think its something to worry about, I'm 13 weeks now!

Ruthiesj · 06/11/2015 18:32

Welcome to the board Lindsay!

Dervinia - that's pretty cool. I keep checking for one and occasionally mistaking the imprint from the seam in my work tights for it!

At the risk of being laughed out of here, I think I've been feeling the baby move over the past week or so (14+1 today, FTM). It's a very unusual kind of nervous sensation with the odd pop of a bubble. I may be crazy, but either way, it's making me smile! Anyone else feeling anything yet?

GrouchyKiwi · 06/11/2015 18:39

I didn't get a linea negra with either of my previous pregnancies. I am very, very white, though.

Greyhorses: check out round ligament pain to see if that fits the symptoms. If it does it's nothing to worry about really, just stretching. It should go away. If the pain is more on your pubic bone then it might be PGP, although that's unlikely in the early weeks unless you've had it before in previous pregnancies or you're hypermobile. As always, if you're worried about it chat with your midwife, or see if you can talk with a pregnancy physio.

Ruthies I've been feeling movement for the past couple of weeks, but this is my third pregnancy (and I'm wondering about twins; scan soon). If you're very aware of your body then it's not unlikely to feel movement even this early. It does sounds like baby movement. Smile

frozensmoothie · 06/11/2015 18:50

Welcome lindsay

Greyhorses I've been having aching pains in my abdomen/pelvis too. I've been having them throughout the whole pregnancy so think it's just everything stretching.

Ruthie it is possible to feel movement this early. I'm almost 15 weeks and have wondered a few times but I think mine is just gas. Still so bloated and uncomfortable!

Bishboshbash · 06/11/2015 18:55

I have been having some aches and pains this week, I'm assuming it's stretching pains. I think my stomach has popped out a bit more as well.
I also thought I felt movements this week but I'm only nearly 12 weeks which seems a bit mad but I suppose I remember what it felt like last time?

Ruthiesj · 07/11/2015 08:31

Ok, glad I'm not the only one then :)

Grey, I've had all sorts of aches and pains in my abdomen, but figure it's just things stretching and moving around.

evs34 · 07/11/2015 09:43

Hi all. Not posted all week as we had bad news at scan on Tuesday. Baby has a 6mm cystic Hygroma ( enlarged NT) went to fetal medicine yesterday for a CVS which was a bit scary. 50% chance of chromosomal abnorm. If normal chromosomes then 10% risk miscarriage, 15% risk fetal abnormality- prob cardiac and 25% chance normal baby. Just awful and time is going so so slowly. So sad as baby looked perfect to me. Have to wait for up to 2 weeks for genetic markers. Head all over the place and can't help but expect the worst. Don't even want to think about what I will have to go through in a few weeks. Really sorry to lower the mood but it makes it more real posting about it. Just think why me? I'm healthy, look after myself, don't abuse my body in any way. I am 38 so I suppose I took a gamble. Always been shit at gambling!! It's really nice reading about normal scans and potential feeling of movements etc so your all helping me and at the moment I am still pregnant so I have to remind myself of that xx. ( 1 in 100 risk of raisedNT so hopefully I am that one in our May group and the rest of you will be fine Smile )

29redshoes · 07/11/2015 10:08

Oh evs I am so sorry to read your update, how upsetting and stressful for you. So will you not know the results of the CVS for two weeks? That feels like a long time to wait. I will be thinking of you and hoping you're in the 25%.
