Disco wow that is annoying. To be honest I'm only starting to feel like I can eat fruit again and even then it's limited to melon and bananas. Unfortunately my baby wants chips, chocolate, bread and most white carbs! I take pregnacare and the baby is a week ahead by growth so I'm not too concerned. I think we have to eat what our body craves within reason otherwise I'd feel ill and probably vom!! People can be so redic and judgemental I hope his wife starts craving takeaways for a reality check lol!!!!

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 05/12/2015 12:22

Yes how bloody annoying! Can't say my partner exactly gets it either though - first off the eating thing, but also just general sense of what it takes to grow a human. Ahhhh, Saturdays, the day for a domestic in our house! Still in the midst of our kitchen renovation (6 weeks and counting in what was supposed to be a 4 week total refurb) which is effing stressful for all concerned but apparently mostly for him....maybe I should make plans to never be here in a Saturday?? After a stressful week at work I just want to chill out and read a book with a cup of tea tbh but instead we have to either be out and about doing stuff or arguing about cleaning....domestic bliss eh?!
Sorry for the rant...

GunShotResidue · 05/12/2015 14:04

Renovating is stressful, hope your weekend gets better cant!

Glad to hear of lots of nice scans, 2 weeks today until my private scan, I cant wait!

I think my midwife told me that you should count the kicks from 24 weeks, until then you can get periods of not feeling anything depending on their position. My sister felt baby wriggling yesterday, but I hadn't felt much for 3-4 days before that.

ParsnipSoup · 05/12/2015 16:47

Renovating sounds stressful!! I had a full on meltdown at home a few weeks ago when DP was completely not getting how tired I am, since then he's been trying to do everything for me so I think I possibly went a bit too far!

The heart rate thing is rubbish imo, my little one's HR has been 150-160 and he's apparently going to be a boy. I love trying out all the old wives tales. Told my family I thought it would be a boy because I saw 4 magpies on my way to tell them I was pregnant... So maybe counting magpies is more accurate than heart rate?! Wink

Just sat down for a 10 minute break at work and realised I forgot to pack any snacks and now the canteen is closed... Noooooooo!!

ODog · 05/12/2015 18:19

Shock at no snacks parsnip. I need snacks to get through the day.

Definitely feeling movements most days now. Nothing that anyone else would be able to feel yet but it's reassuring to know that DS climbing all over me hasn't done any damage . Agree I don't think you feel anything regular until much later though. They are so tiny at the moment that they can float about in the middle and not touch the sides for days.

Building work is tough. We did a lot when I was pg with DS and I hated it. Just need to baby-fy the spare room this time which is a bit of a relief.

I didn't look at the heart rate but I'm convinced this one is a girl. Just because everything seems so different this time around but I know that doesn't mean much.

DS will hopefully be in bed soon and I'm going to sit, eat chocolate and watch X factor!

GunShotResidue · 05/12/2015 18:40

ODog I think this one is a boy as it's so different to when I was pregnant with DD. Although my friends pregnancies were identical and she has one of each! I'd be happy with either but I can't wait to find out.

Pikz · 05/12/2015 20:03

Ohhh exciting to hear the gender news and lots of boys!

I'm gutted my 20 week will be at 21.5 as we are on holiday so I have to wait aggges (til the 21st) to know

Discofairypants · 05/12/2015 20:22

I'm having fun trying to guess what we are having, if I go by symptoms I would say another girl as am exactly the same as with DD but I don't think it means much! We won't be finding out though, love the surprise at the end ... Almost the best bit!

Just hoping sickness buggers off in the next few weeks as its really getting me down. Also having really restless legs and lots of dizzy spells, like extreme exhaustion. Just have no energy to do anything. Need my motivation back!

ODog · 05/12/2015 20:27

I find out on the 18th dec. I really don't mind either way but just have a feeling it's a girl. Silly I know as it's obviously 50/50. I think DS would prefer a dog.

Discofairypants · 05/12/2015 20:44

So exciting odog, really not long now! Can't believe we are all approaching half way! Eee!

Nicky333 · 06/12/2015 08:53

I think mine is a girl for some reason so I can use all my niece's pretty clothes as she'll be 6 months when this one is born

The scan looks like a girl but the lack of symptoms suggest boy. I'd be happy with either but it'd be cheaper to have a girl Grin

ParsnipSoup · 06/12/2015 17:04

It's very exciting that so many of you have scans coming up! I haven't had the date for my 20-week scan yet, but guessing it will be in about 4 weeks.

frozensmoothie · 06/12/2015 17:37

Exciting that we're almost halfway! I've got my 20 week scan on 15th, only just over a week to go! Can't wait to fine out, I'm convinced it's a boy as I haven't had very strong symptoms and had no sicknessk only nausea.

GrouchyKiwi · 06/12/2015 19:33

Hi all!

We're back from our holiday and I'm so tired we need another one. Will hopefully catch up with everything soon.

Our 20 week scan is currently on 6 January, but at a time DH can't do so I need to change it.

VickyHW · 06/12/2015 23:20

Just popping in to say that despite my instincts, I'm having a boy!! Our scan was lovely and we're incredibly happy :D will read back & post in the morning (at work haha)

ODog · 07/12/2015 07:12

Congrats vicky. So many boys!

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 07/12/2015 07:21

Congrats vicky and all the other recent scans! I have to say (don't tell my DP) that finding out the sex is starting to seem tempting though I have always been adamant that I won't!
Going to the doctors this morning for the flu jab which I agonised over whether to do or not...just realised how strange it feels to be going to the surgery and it's nothing to do with the baby! Wondering if I can pinch a stethoscope and try to hear the heartbeat while I'm there Wink

StormTr00per · 07/12/2015 09:03

Hello all.. just to update from my private scan, my instinct was right, it's a girl :-D now I've got an excuse to do some baby shopping Grin

ODog · 07/12/2015 10:24

Lovely news storm. I'm hoping to do lots of shopping in the sales in the new year.

ToffeeAppleMarsBar · 07/12/2015 11:39

Hi everyone! Oooh, lots of lovely posts on here. So exciting to hear everyone's gender scan news and sounds like lots of people are starting to feel baby move which is super special too.

I'm still firmly in the 'surprise' camp for gender. My 20 week scan isn't until 4th Jan so I've got exactly 4 weeks to wait until we see Pickle again. Looking forward to seeing how much they've grown! Not been feeling any movements yet but it is my first so still not sure what it will feel like.

We're moving into our new house not this weekend, but next weekend so we're busy trying to pack what we can at the moment and arrange ourselves as best we can. VERY much looking forward to being in a nice little 2 bed house, as opposed to our 1 bed flat at the moment and looking forward to building up our supplies for the baby's room! Is anyone else looking to move before baby arrives?

x

Nicky333 · 07/12/2015 12:38

I had my 16 week appointment with the midwife this morning and she put the Doppler on to listen to the baby's heartbeat. That confirmed that what I'm hearing through my heartbeat app is actually the baby's heartbeat.

I'm very skinny though, so maybe it's easy for the microphone to pick it up at this stage for me.

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 07/12/2015 13:39

Yay nicky so lovely to hear it!

Am after a bit of advice/sympathy...will try to hold back from TMI! Have been having quite severe digestive discomfort since yesterday, the worst case of trapped wind EVER whilst out at friends for dinner last night, didn't think I would make it home in one piece (I did just about) but having troubles again today. Urgent need to go all morning and now, having just had lunch, stomach pain again. It's really not fun! I still want to eat delicious treats crap but am trying to avoid bread etc today, had veggie curry and rice which usually sits well and makes me feel good but not today! Any ideas? Anyone else suffering?

ODog · 07/12/2015 14:13

I had this last week. It passed in a few days. One of the joys I'm afraid. I had awful constipation last time around so this is all very different for me but in a good way. 6+ months of constipation was horrible.

ParsnipSoup · 07/12/2015 15:55

Toffee my 20-week scan is the same day as yours! Got the letter today and it's at 0855!!! So much for a lie in on my day off... But it will be worth getting up for.

Can't I've got no advice, but I do have sympathy. Last night I had such bad abdo/back pain I almost got DP to take me to hospital but retrospectively I think it was wind + my awful constipation. I've eaten work's curry for lunch so hopefully that will sort me out... Blush

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 07/12/2015 17:03

Actually I bought some natural yoghurt and ate that right after lunch and the pain went away!! So perhaps that is the answer (fingers crossed)....I honestly thought I was going to have a TERRIBLE accident only way home last night, wow that would have been something!!
