I don't think there is a thread for the July moms yet!
I'm due on July 2nd, just 4.5wks at the mo, but feel like I've known for ages as got a positive 5 days early on an early response! No real symptoms so far just a bit of cramping and some instant extra weightHalloween Biscuit.
This is dc3 for us. Haven't made any appointments yet. Looking forward to the next 8 months!

I can't work out how to copy and paste as I am on an iPad, but my add for the list is:
BelOfTheBall, 36, West Yorkshire, this will be DC1, due 8th July

Re telling people it's been a bit different for me, quite a few people know that we've been going through IVF so they've been asking how it went and I haven't wanted to lie to anyone so it has been hard keeping it to just me and DH. We told our parents the day we got the positive news from the IVF clinic, plus a couple of our friends also know. I know that means if anything bad happens it will be hard to have to tell people, but to be honest they're probably people I would talk to about that anyway.

I think though it's a joint decision between you and your other half as to who is told when. I know my parents won't tell anyone, esp my dad, he's like a steel trap (when DH proposed he'd asked my dad about 6 months earlier and my dad said nothing to my mum!) - it's your news to tell.

Thanks Jemimah Wink

Bluebell20 · 11/11/2015 11:41

Aw hi Jemimah, nice to see another Somerset dweller!

Well girls, I am being truly useless today. I've been feeling sick since yesterday evening, and have to keep sitting / lying down (I'm a part time teacher, part time freelancer - fortunately this is a freelance day!). It's not absolutely terrible - it's fairly mild, really - but it is making it quite hard to do stuff. It's a bit like the beginning part of feeling travel sick, if that makes sense? Yeuch.

redstrawberries101 · 11/11/2015 12:02

Likydaisyrose! You are not ancient as you put it lol! It's nice to know someone local going through the same thing ha.

I live and work in Edinburgh :) I work up at Edinburg park across from the Gyle. Talking of which I have been forcing myself to go across to the shopping centre just go get out for a walk and I am so out of breath by the time i get back :( trying to keep my steps up at 5000 daily. Which is nothing really.

jemimahpuddleduck · 11/11/2015 12:04

Where in Somerset are you from Bluebell ?

I'm finding the sickness is better with the more rest I seem to get. A little difficult with a 2 year old, but early nights are definitely helping.

EllieJayJay · 11/11/2015 12:04

"Bluebell* get those SeaBands I have some on standby! One thing I am going to be unable to deal with his nausea it was lurking this morning but a crumpet sorted that out :)

So many of us now!!! what just suddenly occurred to me is that im happily sitting in restaurants with my DP announcing I'm pregnant which means I'm at the same time I'm declaring to the world "see him, that bloke sitting opposite me I had sex with him" lmao

Anyway, I have just booked in my first scan on the 24th November! Early one and private so costing £120 but I don't care about the money as I am going to spend this in pregnancy tests if I don't get a scan soon :) and my midwife appointment is not until the 4th December when I will be 9 weeks :) eeekkkkkkkkk Grin

redstrawberries101 · 11/11/2015 12:06

Belloftheball you are right it does have to be a joint decision. First time in my life though lol! We have been married almost 5 years but without kids it's quite different.

I told my mum in Monday (hubby thinks I'm telling her today though Hmm). I want to tell my close friends but will tell motherinlaw first. I feel so dizzy and weak today.

lilydaisyrose · 11/11/2015 12:57

Ah Melvali - I'm just along the road at Gorgie, near the prison - salubrious!!

Am having a hungry day - guzzled my porridge about 2 hours ago, then for lunch I've had a massive wholemeal roll with smoked salmon and philly and then had some onken yoghurt and sliced banana and a nakd bar!

I don't have any desire to tell anyone until I'm much further on, and luckily, neither does DH. And our kids will definitely be first to know. I'd love to tell them on Christmas day (11+5) - but DH is really against paying for a private scan and we really can't afford it - will see how things pan out in a few weeks but it is such an expensive time of year anyway and we've car bills, just bought a new fridge freezer and need a boiler service/parts!

Like most of us, I can't think of anything else. I've spent the morning working out my maternity entitlement and leave and if I can afford to be off for a year (yes if we're canny and if I'm allowed to use my leave before (4 weeks) and after (6 weeks) to tag on.

Near Wells, Jemimah, what about you? :)

Good idea Ellie, I'll see if I can get myself some of those bands pronto!

Lily, it's a shame about the timing, but thinking about it, kids might actually be more interested in a new baby when there isn't a heap of shiny presents to distract them!

dcourtney · 11/11/2015 13:56

Hi everyone, I am 6+4 and the morning sickness has really kicked in! I should be due about the 2nd of July. I think that the doctors will say it's a week earlier because I have a longer cycle (35 days) but my midwife friend said technically I'm due the later date. Which sucks cos I thought I was a week further along!

My details are dcourtney - 24 - Sheffield - DC1 - Due 2nd of July

Genuinely struggling with the nausea and tiredness now though. :/

Loki17 · 11/11/2015 13:58

Ellie that is really expensive. We are having a reassurance scan at 10 weeks and it's £40. We went to the same place when we were expecting dd and it was wonderful. Spent ages looking at tiny dd wiggling around. I thought my nhs scan would be the same but it was really quick and clinical, which I know they have to be, but I felt a bit deflated after. Might be worth shopping around anyway x

redstrawberries101 · 11/11/2015 14:04

Lilydaisyrose - I live in Slateford not far from Gorgie lol! Small world :)

I felt so weak and dizzy. Had a Tuscan bean soup for lunch followed by strawberries and I have a 'go' bar thing for a snack inabit. The weakness has passed now. I think the trick is to eat small and regularly.

I wouldn't mind a private scan but everywhere I have googled is coming up around £100. £40 is amazing!

EllieJayJay · 11/11/2015 14:11

Bands were £7 I think in Boots :) boots own :)

loki I know when I first googled I saw people quoting £50ish but in these parts it's actually seems pretty standard of the private hospitals I've looked at - it's a longer appointment 45-60mins I think his secretary said with a senior consultant I'm not sure if that's standard for scans but I'm ok with the price given the fact it's a senior consultant - who can answer any questions I have, as I have a very rare medical condition, first time and I'm old at now 38 I'm quite pleased with this as think it will give me the reassurance I need that 1. I'm my imagining this (however the tests are instant my boobs are doing this they have grown another 1/4" since yesterday!! And holy mother of god do they hurt now!) and that 2. If anything is wrong I can get the right information from some one senior - it is expensive but I see it as two weeks cigarette money (but I think I've spent the money past the due date now with lotions, potions, bras, comfort food etc etc)

NicolaM84 · 11/11/2015 14:12

Yay, I've had a call from the midwife, I've got my appointment for 7th December so just after I'm 8 weeks, feel a bit better now I've got a date, making it feel more real Smile

EllieJayJay · 11/11/2015 14:13

I think that makes sense I get to this time and feel exhausted - office all day tomorrow no idea how I'm going to get through five bloody meetings without dozing off (used to struggle before as they can be utterly dull)

I'm in the blessed window of time in the middle of the day when I don't feel nausea. It seems to get a bit shorter every day at the moment! I don't actually throw up much other than first thing, but I feel really sick. I agree with whoever says it's like motion sickness!

I've booked for an early scan on 21 November when I'll be 8+1. I can't stand waiting until 18 December. It's going to be £99 though - I couldn't find anything cheaper round here!

jemimahpuddleduck · 11/11/2015 15:11

Bluebell I live in a little village near Yeovil so not too far away from you really.

Indians I dragged myself to one of my exercise classes yesterday and I really did feel better for it.

Our scan is on Monday so I will be 8 weeks, really can't wait as my symptoms are definitely not as strong as with DD, although are there if that makes sense!
