I don't think there is a thread for the July moms yet!
I'm due on July 2nd, just 4.5wks at the mo, but feel like I've known for ages as got a positive 5 days early on an early response! No real symptoms so far just a bit of cramping and some instant extra weightHalloween Biscuit.
This is dc3 for us. Haven't made any appointments yet. Looking forward to the next 8 months!

Becks how did the midwife appt go?

Gx91 I'm planning on bf this time. With ds1 and 2 I managed about 6weeks. With ds3 I only did the first 10 days as DH wanted to be able to bottle feed as well. I've never been supported in BF which is why I've never given it a good try. However, I'm really thinking about opting to have this baby in the birthing centre. It's a 40 minute drive from us and I'm already worried about who will have the other dcs when I go into labour. But I just think it's now or never as I'll never get to use it again. I would love a water birth (although it will be more beached whale than anything) and they are supposed to be fab at helping with breast feeding in the first few days. I'm not sure where my scans would be. So much to think about.

jemimahpuddleduck · 16/11/2015 16:14

Went in to have my early scan this afternoon and all is well. Dating at 8+2 which means baby due 25/06 hope you all don't mind me staying with you though?!

redstrawberries101 · 16/11/2015 16:26

Really was sad to hear about lily, just reminded me that this could be over any second! I suppose it's not in our control though so no point worrying about it.

Except I am worried today because I haven't felt sick at all, or dizzy, or tired. I was so exhausted yesterday I didn't think I would manage to get up for work but I have been absolutely fine. Went to m&s to get a new bra., the fitter recommended an underwired one. Actually went down a cup size but up a strap size but the style was really different to what I usually wear. My boobs did feel a bit sore after the fitting! She said I will probably go up a cup size by the time I'm 12 weeks.

It's crazy isn't it. All these emotions we feel!

redstrawberries101 · 16/11/2015 16:26

Welcome fairy dust!!

redstrawberries101 · 16/11/2015 16:30

Congrats jemimah!!!! That's great news :) ofcourse you can stay!!

Being the first, I would like to give breastfeeding a chance. I don't know if I'll manage to though since my boobs have already been in agony and apparently after the birth they get really sore too.

Sorry for posting bit by bit, I've been writing the post for so long (keep getting sidetracked) that when I finally post, another few posts have been made

jemimahpuddleduck · 16/11/2015 16:30

I think it's normal for symptoms to come and go Melvali. I felt horrendous yesterday but nowhere near as bad today. I tend to find if I've been busy symptoms are worse, so by the end of the week I feel awful. Then after some rest at the weekend I feel ok again for a few days.

jemimahpuddleduck · 16/11/2015 16:32

Also meant to say I plan on BF again. I struggled to start with first time around but managed to feed her until 11 months in the end.

beckslovestimmy · 16/11/2015 16:33

Well after going in more than 30 mins late I was pretty much told to fill the forms out myself! The student midwife was much nicer. Due to my BMI being 30 I've got to have a higher dose of folic acid and maybe aspirin from 12 weeks. I'll be trying to lose a few pounds between now and then to see if I can bring my BMI down. Scan all booked for 15th of December. Glad it's before Christmas . Anyone else got their scan dates yet.

beckslovestimmy · 16/11/2015 16:35

Jemimah glad the scan went well. With DD I had a scan at 7 weeks. So nice to have the early reassurance.

Vikkijayne2507 · 16/11/2015 16:35

So sorry Lily.

I still worry a lot however last 2 days the sickness has started, just feeling ill. I never had it with ds so the fatigue and nausea is not expected this time around. I have gone off of eating generallyh unless its very random non cokked food, ie i ate a huge tub of hummus and toast last night for dinner, and garlic mayo sauce and cheese for lunch.

Went to a park with ds and oh yesterday and im a bit overweight but my dad saw the pictures and asked if i was pregnant!!!! wtaf. Hes usually totally clueless but i am very bloated i was just stunned and tried to brush it off he away in australia atm so havent spoken to him properly yet

jemimahpuddleduck · 16/11/2015 16:45

Yes becks it was nice to have that reassurance. My next scan is also 15th December.

Bluebell20 · 16/11/2015 16:49

becks, glad you've got your scan in before Christmas! My booking appointment is on Weds, so I am hoping that she will sort my scan date out at the same time.

jemimah, great news on your scan! And secretly I'm very glad that there are some late Juners here, because it means I don't have to be the first to do things!!!!

I will definitely be having a bash at breastfeeding. I was a bottle-fed eighties baby and it certainly doesn't seem to have done me any harm, but I think it would be nice to try it the natural way!

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 16/11/2015 16:50

Becks yay for a scan date. Really hoping I get mine before Christmas but bet I don't. We just really want to tell everyone then and it's hard enough not saying anything as it is

beckslovestimmy · 16/11/2015 16:50

Our due dates are nearly the same. I'm looking forward to the 15th and it doesn't seem that far away really. Hopefully all the Christmas stuff/planning/shopping will keep me busy in between times.

EllieJayJay · 16/11/2015 17:05

Mel I heard you shouldn't wear underwire during pregnancy as it can damage the tissue?? But then have also seen other ladies say they have worn normal bras through out?? The thought of an underwire sends me crazy ouch ouch ouch!!

Jem that's lovely news xx so pleased but off you go to the June forum Wink Wink no no no -your one of us now Grin Flowers

So what can you see on the scan? Did you see a heartbeat?? I'd love all the details xx

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 16/11/2015 17:21

Only a few more posts and we hit a thousand. I can't believe we are almost on thread 2 already. You lot can talk GrinGrinGrin

Gx91 · 16/11/2015 17:27

Jem - glad u got to see ur little one today ! What could u see ? Was he/she having a wriggle ? Lol X
Becks - glad uv got ur scan date too bet ur so excited !! X

Yeh nothing wrong with bottle feeding X
The main reasons I want to do it again was because you loose so many calories very quickly thru feeding I lost my prego wait very quickly and it benefited DD at the sm time !Grin
I remember getting very ill when she was less than a month old and so afraid she would catch it as I spread it to everyone ! My doctor told me to keep BF her so she would get the antibodies from my milk and low and behold she didn't even get a sniff of it - was relieved !! Also breast milk clears baby eye infections lol magic stuff haha
Il probably need to mix feed again if it's more convenient bcoz I got mega stressed last time ! Xxx

Loki17 · 16/11/2015 17:29

I'm hoping to bf this time too. I had lactation failure plus zero support so mix fed dd from very early on midwife advice. Milk never came in. On hindsight 'give her a bottle until your milk comes in' was shit advice! At the time I just did as I was told. I'd like to bf this time though.

redstrawberries101 · 16/11/2015 17:29

We are a chatty bunch!!

Oh I didn't know that ellie, i was wearing wired until today when I got measured. Non wired definitely feels better!!

My scan isn't until 6th Jan. Midwife appt 8 Dec - 3 weeks today!

Cookiesandcoffee · 16/11/2015 17:38

Yey for scan date Becks. I haven't heard about that for a BMI before.. I think with my first pregnancy I had the same BMI but they didn't offer anything other than the diabetes insulin test at 30 weeks. Joy.
How exciting you had your scan jemima did you have a private one ? (Sorry if you said before, cold+pregnancy brain is making me really useless) what did it look like?! I'm so excited I just can't wait.
gx I breastfed dd2 for about 4 months but hoping to go longer this time. I bottlefed dd1 and she's very strong and healthy. Babies are all different and I'll go with the flow (but will secretly be sad if I haven't BF this one!)
beautitian prawns are fine! I wouldn't trust raw ones from a market personally (mainly due to my awful cooking Wink) I keep eating M&S prawn sandwiches I have no idea where that has come from it must be the 'blueberry' Grin

beckslovestimmy · 16/11/2015 17:46

Blue they did sort my scan date at my booking in appointment. Glad that I didn't have to wait for one in the post.

HopesAndDreams15 · 16/11/2015 17:52

So sorry Lily, hope you're being looked after Thanks

AndersArms · 16/11/2015 17:54

Big hugs lily

becks I will have the same as have much much higher high BMI. Had aspirin in last pregnancy and increased folic acid. The diabetes test is something to look forward to not! Made booking in appointment for early Dec and will hope for scan date before Xmas but suspect it will be after.

Jo6526 · 16/11/2015 18:35

Hello everyone,

Totally new to these forums. Found out today that I'm pregnant. Still slightly in shock, we decided we would start trying in October. As the past 4 weeks have been mental with husband and i working away, family visiting we only tried once!

I'm calculating 20th July as due date. Still very early on but very excited.

First pregnancy so have lots of reading to do, any pointers on where to start around antenatal care, useful links to all this pregnancy would be welcomed.
