I don't think there is a thread for the July moms yet!
I'm due on July 2nd, just 4.5wks at the mo, but feel like I've known for ages as got a positive 5 days early on an early response! No real symptoms so far just a bit of cramping and some instant extra weightHalloween Biscuit.
This is dc3 for us. Haven't made any appointments yet. Looking forward to the next 8 months!

Thanks Culture, that has made my mind up - first appointment just for me, and then I will decide about future ones :) thank you x

SoniaShoe · 06/11/2015 10:53

elliejay that was meant to be a Grin after my comment not question marks. I'm not questioning you Smile

photographer my docs app is on 20 Nov and my midwife is on 24 Nov. They booked them both in at the same time as I couldn't get a docs appt for ages. 2 weeks and counting. A different kind of 2ww this month.

EllieJayJay · 06/11/2015 10:55

Ha ha Sonia - I promise not always! Quite a lot but certainly not for at least a year I guess! Birthday Monday so a year on Monday I'm drinking a bloody big bottle!

I'm actually a bit allergic to some wines but champagne doesn't have the same effect :) that's my excuse anyway lol no really I am :)

EllieJayJay · 06/11/2015 10:56

I thought it might be - I found it funny :) actually takes quite a lot to offend me so your all good!

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 06/11/2015 11:09

Ellie the midwife appt is nice as it sets everything in motion but it's pretty boring. They have introduced a new thing now where they ask you about domestic violence so would possibly ask your DH to step out of the room anyway. DH won't come to mine but will book the day off work for both scans

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 06/11/2015 11:41

I wasn't planning to take DH to my midwife appointment (and as it goes he's out of town for work that day anyway) but he'll come to the scans.

My DP will definitely come to the scans too.

EllieJayJay · 06/11/2015 11:51

I will have a chat with the DP, but I think first for me and he can come to the rest if he wants the "sprout" is also his so I want him to be involved as much as wants to be during the next nine months - were lucky as he can take time off when he wants so working around work isn't an issue...

As for domestic violence I think it's good they do that, I suppose if that was the case the chances are the man responsible would likely insist on going to the appointment - but nothing to worry about here am a very lucky lady to have such a supportive DH in her life!

EllieJayJay · 06/11/2015 11:52

Oops getting a bit ahead of myself there he is in fact DP, soon to be DH lol

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 06/11/2015 11:55

Ellie's wish they had introduced the domestic violence question sooner. Unfortunately I was in an abusive relationship with exp who I have the older two boys with. He has nothing to do with them they call DH dad. If only someone had asked when I was going through it I feel I may have broken down and let it all out.

DH couldn't be more different he is so supportive. Already he won't let me lift anything and keeps checking in on me.

We might be slightly different where I am. The midwife actually comes to the house for the first appointment, and its on a Sunday (we live in quite a rural area). So DH will be there anyway. The midwife said it helps if DH is there for the family history questions (although I know all of that anyway). But I am sure it won't be necessary for him to be there the whole appointment unless he wants to be.

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 06/11/2015 13:09

Indians it's lovely isn't it. Especially when you aren't used to that support. I had ds3 with DH and he really wanted another that he could be there with from birth. He's amazing with all the children. I'm very, very lucky.

Here's hoping for a happy and healthy 9 months for us all.

Wellthen · 06/11/2015 16:12

Hi all, lovely to see how many of us there are now! My booking in is 20th - when I told dh when it was he sad 'oh good I can come' so he's kind of invited himself along! But I'm glad as it shows interest and also he's working away at the moment so I want to show the midwife that I have support, even if we dont live together half the time!

Had my early scan today; relieved and excited to find out everything is normal and there was even a heartbeat. Sonographer said it was small so could be only 5 weeks (thought I was 6) which doesn't make sense to me as how would they see a heart beat at 5 weeks? But they did say its too hard to date at this stage and 5 weeks could mean 5+0 or 5+5.

Jem01 · 06/11/2015 16:25

Great news about your scan wellthen I'm sure it was lovely to hear the heartbeat.

DH will certainly be coming with me to the booking appointment, it's iur first baby so he's really excited.

Loki17 · 06/11/2015 16:41

I'm knicker checking like a crazy person today. Feel less sick and I'm upset about it! I'd forgotten how paranoid I get when pregnant!

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 06/11/2015 17:03

Loki I'm a constant knicker checker too. I even did another cb digital today. Last Friday it was 1-2 & today 2-3. So I think I can accept I'm pregnant. After so long ttc it's just hard to believe.

EllieJayJay · 06/11/2015 17:39

Beautician - yup I did a digital today too! Now 2-3

Already purchased another one for next Friday LOL was so exciting to see it change from 1-2 to 2-3...

photographerlady · 06/11/2015 17:43

Great news Wellthen it does seem early to see the heartbeat but I have nothing to base it on as my last pregnancy the early scan was 8 weeks.

Cookiesandcoffee · 06/11/2015 17:52

wellthen how lovely! The heart beat doesn't usually start until around 6 weeks so i would think you could well be there or nearly. Dying for a scan! I did book a private one last night! To save ££ I booked one when I'm 11+5 (but sneaky) but it means it's on a day where I have no DDs and before Xmas! So excited!
ellie* I don't think it matters- some do some don't. My DH didn't come last time but I knew all his family history etc so I could note any health stuff. He came to the heartbeat one I think, but other than that just scans. Everyone is different and it's really hard for him to get time off.
Welcome to newbies indians preg and luckyinoctober*

loki knicker checking is totally normal! Especially if you have the TMI issue down there! Even DH noticed BlushBlush
beautician I'm so happy to hear that you have the support now :) sad to think you went through a time when you didn't. And agree a good idea about domestic violence.
indians I know it's controversial but I have a friend who lived in Germany for her first pregnancy and I think she said it was guidance to just have one drink/unit can't remember.
So much cheese talk!! Yum! I have eaten 'naughty' cheese in previous pregnancies.. And steak (which definitely has pink bits as I hate over cooked meat) Not all the time but if I really wanted it I did. Christmas wouldn't be right without a good cheese board..
bluebell use it as an excuse not to lift haha. If you don't want to. But my job involves lifting heavy weights and teaching fitness classes and yesterday I moved both DDs bedrooms around Blush I have found I have been struggling with some of the heavy squat weights I really thought I was going to be sick :/ but any way no worrying bluebell!

Loki17 · 06/11/2015 20:04

Glad I'm not the only crazy knicker checker! We are hopefully going to have a reassurance scan the week before Christmas when should be 10 and a half weeks. We want to tell dd but want to wait until we've had a scan. The plan is to hopefully tell her that she is going to be a big sister on Christmas eve and then tell our parents on Christmas Day. In the meantime I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

photographerlady · 06/11/2015 20:11

Anyone find it hard to stomach meat? Was vegetarian last pregnancy so nothing to relate it to but addicted to steamed (lots of butter) and fajita grilles ones at the moment. Thought of meat making me feel a bit nauseous.

Loki17 · 06/11/2015 20:41

I don't eat meat anyway but the smell I'd bothering me more than normal. Chocolate is turning my stomach once again. All I want is carby stodge.

photographerlady · 06/11/2015 20:45

Wish I had the chocolate sickness. I must of had two full 85% dark bars this work week
