I'm taking Pregnacare every day still. I need the iron and figured everything else in there can't be bad for me! I've been lucky though in that I didn't get any morning sickness and they don't seem to affect me at all.

Mship I'm 24+2 and have definitely noticed I've been a lot more tired the last week or so - could be related to the fact I've been sleeping so badly though!

RhubarbAndMustard · 15/11/2015 16:59

I've got Pregnacare but have to admit I'm not taking it religiously. Prob 3/4 days a week. I do think I've got a pretty good diet though so I'm not too worried and just using the vits as a boost.

Bought a gym ball today so am going to get bouncing Smile

neh205 · 15/11/2015 17:17

I've been on the pregnecare too. Also taking omega 3 and magnesium as well as cranberry capsules as had a couple of urine infections in first trimester. Maybe being a bit too meticulous but prone to being anemic and definitely notice the difference when I'm not on tablets!

I went out and got a few new tops yesterday as clothes have been feeling very tight. I got maternity jeans in new look and they are sooo comfy!

ginger glad you are feeling better today.

Curling up and watching Frozen sounds very appealing, I might just do that too!

IndomitabIe · 15/11/2015 18:23

hayley that's interesting what you say about the BF vitamins. I didn't take them last time and I was thinking of taking some this time (I ended up exhausted and anxious last time, probably entirely normal given the small baby and swift return to work, but maybe vitamins will help?!).

Ginger that's great that you're feeling better! I think the multivitamins are more for us than the babies. The baby will raid your stores (of the storable vitamins) and will take anything they need which could leave you anaemic or slightly deficient in all sorts of things. You'll most likely be fine, and normally multivitamins are not really advisable for most people, but there's extra demand in pregnancy.

The pain could be that baby's shifted position, which would also explain feeling the kicks. See how you go, you might find baby shifts and you feel better again. Ring if you're worried though.

Missikat · 15/11/2015 18:26

I was really good at taking preg macabre for first 15 weeks ish then been really lazy since then and forgetting often. I didn't take any prenatal after 12 weeks with DS at all but did end up on iron tablets so should probably try harder this time!

Ginger, I'm good thanks, nothing to report thankfully, 24 weeks tomoz so that is great if I make it through the night (which I fully hope/expect to!) My placenta is fundal anterior then too and they've only been finding Flump's heartbeat down really low just above my knicker line. Plus that's the only place I have movements. Just had to have my second progesterone suppository, this one I put in myself.... Much less painful than someone else doing it! Hope everyone else is keeping well xxx

Missikat · 15/11/2015 18:27

Or maybe even Pregnacare! Funny spell check!

Trinpy · 15/11/2015 18:32

I swapped my pregnancy multivit to a folic acid and vit d pill at 7 weeks because I was feeling so sick on them. I slowly switched back again between 16-18 weeks when my morning sickness went.

Ginger please try not to worry. If you're worried it could be a uti then you can ring your gp's surgery and ask advice. I had similar a few weeks ago and did a quick dip test of my wee (I work in a hospital) and all was fine - I also spoke to the on call ob/gynae (Blush) who wasn't particularly concerned. I think for me it was just that the baby had moved into a weird position and was pressing on something.

TheM that sounds like a perfect Sunday! I'm also feeling completely wiped out today and poor ds has spent most of the day being parented by cbeebies while I collapse on the sofa Confused.

IndomitabIe · 15/11/2015 18:48

Lol, "preg macabre"!

Missi 24 weeks tomorrow is fantastic! Keep hanging on!

ThePug · 15/11/2015 19:39

Missi glad to hear baby is still in situ and hope they stay put a little while longer. How are you finding being in hospital? Are you on a ward?

As I'm on prescription strength iron anyway, and needed to take prescription strength folic acid, I've never taken any of the 'all in one' pregnancy vitamins. I'm still taking the iron daily and started vitamin D on about week 5. Stopped folic at week 12 as advised by doctor (but then started on 75mg aspirin!). All of my bloods have been fine, so I'm glad I'm not taking all sorts of other things in Pregnacare etc that I probably don't need.

So excited - I order our crib, cotbed, mattresses for both and drawers/changing unit today. Have had my eye on the set in Mothercare for a few weeks as it was heavily reduced and after they emailed me a 10% discount code last night that was the last push I needed to order. Feel a bit silly that the cot will not be used for about another 10 months (DH hasn't clocked this fact yet) but I won't want to be assembling furniture when we have a small baby, so that's how I've rationalised it to myself!

RhubarbAndMustard · 15/11/2015 20:00

Missi also pleased to hear baby is staying put. I hope it isn't too boring for you in hospital and you are getting some sleep.

Pug I think you'll be pleased to have sorted furniture, etc earlier whilst your not too big and still have some energy.

I'm really excited. I entered the product test thread to try Velspar paint and was sent the vouchers this week. DP and I bought the paint today (a bluey, green shade) and will be decorating the nursery next weekend. Can't wait.

Missikat · 15/11/2015 20:01

Yep on a ward (well in a four bed room). Was in my own room on labour suite until they moved me here last night. Obv I preferred having my own room but nice to have some people to chat to when I haven't got any visitors. The other two ladies in here are really friendly. I'm just talking one day at a time, stuffing my face, chilling and reading. There's another lady I spoke to earlier who's been in for 6 weeks (since 25 weeks). She said it's not been too bad and you just need to have some kind of a semblance of routine to keep you going.

Missikat · 15/11/2015 20:02

Have also had an afternoon nap last two days in a row which has been pleasant! Wouldn't have been getting that at home!

Gingerlady123 · 15/11/2015 20:48

Missi- 24 weeks is great. Such a mile stone. I only find heartbeat really low down as well. Glad you have some company.

I am a bit worried about a uti but as the pain is also present when moving etc I'm not sure it is. Really scared it'll affect baby though. I'll watch how it goes this week though. Felt some kicks tonight as well! Really happy about that

Gingerlady123 · 15/11/2015 20:51

Also had a few nights last night when I kept needing the loo constantly

Me624 · 15/11/2015 22:23

Ginger if the docs tested you and said you don't have a uti then I'm sure it's just normal pregnancy needing the loo lots! Glad you can feel lots of movement, that is reassuring.

I am lying in bed watching my tummy jump every time baby me kicks! First time I've noticed kicks being visible from the outside!

tappitytaptap · 15/11/2015 22:35

Missi, glad to hear baby is staying put.
I have developed what I think is PGP/SPD...anyone had this and had osteo/physio and did it help? Think might go through private health insurance if I can but should I see the midwife first or would it be OK to self refer?

Trinpy · 15/11/2015 23:31

Yay Missi great news on reaching 24 weeks!

Tappity I saw a private physio and an NHS women's health physio for pgp in my last pregnancy. They gave me some tips for managing it and exercises to do which helped a bit; the NHS physio also gave me two support belts and some crutches and did some realignmenty thing to my pelvis. In the end there wasn't much more they could do for me and I had to take codeine throughout the day until I took sick leave at 32 weeks.

Mine only got so bad because I left it until I couldn't walk anymore until seeking help, so definitely see someone asap! I know a couple of women who had less severe pgp who were completely cured from seeing the physio.

I have pgp again now and I'm planning on trying an osteopath this time because I'm hoping they will do more hands on work like massage, mobilisations, etc.

There is a lot of advice for managing pgp online if you google. I've found a maternity pillow at night, not sitting/standing for too long at a time, and gentle exercise have all been helpful.

MyNameIsSuz · 16/11/2015 09:01

Great news on getting to 24 weeks missi, that's a huge milestone. How are you doing today?

OP posts:
TriJo · 16/11/2015 09:49

Almost got knocked over while picking up snacks in Sainsburys this morning by some little shithead who had been shoplifting and was trying to escape with his ill-gotten gains. What a little scrote. Little man has been kicking away in a very normal sort of way though so that's good...

magpiedreams · 16/11/2015 09:58

Congrats on the 24 week milestone missi. I guess every extra half day inside helps at this stage so really pleased things are calm for you at the moment. Fingers crossed they stay that way.

trijo that sounds horrible but I can't help laughing at your brilliant angry description!!

I'm seeing baby kicks from the outside too which so so nice! Had my scan last week (finally) and all well, didn't want to find out but the sonographer got a great legs-a-kimbo view before checking if we wanted to know - I looked away but got a glimpse so now I think I know but am not sure and wishing is just asked...worst of both worlds!!

Hilariously DH's aged aunt suggested at a party this weekend that 3 children is plenty and we should have separate bedrooms after this one is born. Didn't like to explain how contraception has progressed since her day. Did not know what to say. She was serious!

QforCucumber · 16/11/2015 10:14

missi glad to hear flump is staying put for now, fingers crossed for you.
tri I'm surprised angry pregnant you didn't give the lad what for haha!
ginger I've had 3 days so far of agonising pain in my lower back, unable to stand or walk properly, then as quick as it came it disappears - seems like baby has found a nice comfortable spot right on the nerves in my spine!

Woke up this morning to damp pj top - leaky boobs at 24 weeks, awesome.

maybebabybee · 16/11/2015 10:25

maggie that is hilarious re: your aunt!

hayleycookie · 16/11/2015 10:28

Congratulations on reaching 24 weeks Missi! Looks like you have a determined little flump in there!

Magpie what do you think you saw? It must be hard not thinking too much into it now! I think we will stop at 3, purely because it fills the car haha!

Not much to add from my side... Hope everyone is doing ok. We should all be about half way through now, if not more! How exciting!

Missdee2014 · 16/11/2015 10:52

Tappity I've suffered with spd/pgp with all of my pregnancies, this time since 13 weeks! I've never really found the physio very helpful tbh. I've got some exercises to do daily and also got a support tubi grip at the moment. Next step is crutches (hopefully I won't need them though!!). I'm dreading the last few weeks because in my previous pregnancies I got to the point that even getting out of bed was a crying event Sad

marmiteandcheeseplease · 16/11/2015 12:00

Happy monday everyone Hmm

congrats on making it to 24 weeks missi. Hope Flump stays put for as long as possible!

I've also started to get lower back pain... gutted it's started this early. I wouldn't say it was spd/pgp, I think more just I have a weak core despite doing core exercises frequently (well, 2-3 times a week). I've got my pregnancy support band out, and trying to remember to do back stretches frequently today etc, but I think I may have to accept the inevitable. Ever since we went to the zoo for DDs birthday and I spent hours walking around, I've had a bit of a twingy back, and DD being ill on Friday and wanting to be carried/held/cuddled constantly has made it worse - turns out carrying round an 11kg weight on top of a huge bump isn't good for your back - who knew?! Hmm

I've also started getting leaky boobs... if I remember right it started around now (24 weeks) with DD, and I've been finding dried colostrum in my bra at the end of the day (sorry if that sounds a bit gross!).

Massively busy week at work this week, but at least there are only four weeks left of term and then all my teaching is done and I have no meetings to attend for at least a month! and then it'll be the new year and countdown to DD2 will properly start!
