missikat I'm glad that you're family and friends are all around you, keep us updated and hopefully everything will be okay hun, lots of hugs and kisses xxx Flowers

BeautifulLiar · 13/11/2015 15:56

I got a Mamaroo from Gumtree today - £95 in fab condition! Really pleased :)

Rosieblossom123 · 13/11/2015 16:15

Beautiful I'm so jealous haha I wanna buy mine I'm debating to wait for the sales but then thinking is it ever going to be in the sale haha

maybebabybee · 13/11/2015 17:01

missikat nothing to say really, just offering you lots of hand holding, Flowers and well wishes. my best friend was born at 25 weeks (and this was a good 27 years ago) and she is (obviously) well and happy. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you and your family x

BeautifulLiar · 13/11/2015 17:26

Maybe - wow that's crazy that your friend pulled through 27 years ago. Hope that brings you some comfort missikat xx

Rosie - I honestly don't think things like that are in the sales... or probably not discounted much if they are! She gave me a spare base and toy bar too.

Rosieblossom123 · 13/11/2015 17:30

Beautiful yeah I think you're right, I've kept an eye on it since I got pregnant lol

BeautifulLiar · 13/11/2015 17:46

You never know in January though... but I would consider a second hand one! I'm so excited to have it but as soon as I got it home and plugged it in it took me about 30 seconds to look at all the features (apart from the phone music etc) and I'd have been a bit "oh God" if I'd spent nearly £300 on it!!

Missikat · 13/11/2015 17:49

Thanks Maybe, that is comforting to hear. X

Rosieblossom123 · 13/11/2015 18:03

Beautiful I can't see myself spending £300 on it either to be honest lol I will wait until January if not then I'll just buy a second hand one, dp will refuse to pay full price for it!

I've got my 25 week check up on Monday, it'll be nice to hear my little acrobat's heartbeat!

ThePug · 13/11/2015 18:41

My bargain Caboo Close sling from ebay arrived today (£19) - can't wait for baby to be here to go in it. Even managed to get DH to try it on for size!

Oh and I'm happy to report new milestone reached - I can see baby kicking through my clothes! Noticed yesterday at the most hilarious time, when I was sat on a stage in a live Q&A panel at an event - looked down and saw my stomach twitching through my dress. Even more impressively, I've just got into my cosy fleecy onesie and have just seen a kick through 3 layers of t-shirt, sweatshirt & onesie!

I can't decide whether to try and view prams this weekend. I want to go to a local independent shop that stocks what I think I want, but I plan on trying to haggle a deal out of them for buying various bits there. This would probably be a now-or-never thing once I get talking to them so just not sure whether it's better to wait and see what prices things might be in sales nearer Christmas. But then I want to try the prams out to see if I like what I think I do from online viewing Confused

IndomitabIe · 13/11/2015 18:47

Hope you're all well Missi. Really hoping Flump stays put a good few more weeks yet.

Wow, ThePug! I haven't even got to the feeling-from-the-outside stage yet (in that DH is in no rush to feel it and DS won't wait long enough). How many weeks are you?

BeautifulLiar · 13/11/2015 18:58

I've never had a onesie... are they a pain when you need to piss?!

Kinda glad I'm pregnant this winter cos the thermostat won't switch on so there's no central heating Confused

ThePug · 13/11/2015 19:07

Indom I'm 23+1 today. I think DH has been able to feel for about 2.5 weeks now. Most kicks are still internal only, but when baby's in the right place we know about it!

Beautiful - yes they are a pain so I don' wear very often. I'd just got in from a freezing & rainy dog walk though so wanted to get changed into something snuggly. Wearing whilst I can still get it zipped up, as probably won't fit in another month!

BeautifulLiar · 13/11/2015 19:52

They do sound cosy though!

I'm in bed now... cannot stay up past 8 anymore!

IndomitabIe · 13/11/2015 20:52

Can I ask a question about babies orientation/lie at this stage?

When you had your scan, was your baby head up or down?

So far, I know this one's been a bit of an octopus and has seemed to be everywhere at once. But he seems to keep returning to his head-up, feet to the bottom & right side position.

Do you think yours have a favourite position?

I'm sure DS was mainly head down (and kicking on my left) from early on. Can midwives really tell the difference between a bum and a head? (I know it's too early to worry about this, and that he'll keep somersaulting, but it's a thought in my head!)

Trinpy · 13/11/2015 21:00

ThePug I went to look at prams last week and according to the sales assistant 'everything baby stops over xmas' (except, I'm assuming, the actual babies!) so its better to order now or in the new year. I don't think they usually have prams in the sales unless they're discontinuing a line, but you could probably get accessories like coseytoes, changing bag, etc in the sale if they weren't included.

Speaking of prams, I'm very pleased to announce that I have finally committed myself to a double buggy. It's an oyster max and its sooo pretty, I can't wait until it arrives so I can spend many happy hours trying out all the different seating combinations .

BeautifulLiar · 13/11/2015 21:08

Indomitable - yeh, midwives are pretty good at palpating! I started a Midwifery degree (but left after a year to go on maternity leave and never went back) and it was one of the first things we learnt :) I'm obsessed with palpating my baby!

Missikat · 13/11/2015 21:19

Indom, about 6 different midwives saw me from 37 weeks and all said DS was head down. 26 hours into labour realised he was breech, so yes they do get it wrong!

I want a close caboo they look awesome! X

Trinpy · 13/11/2015 21:28

indom mine was head up at 20 week scan too. I think ds was head up then but turned a few weeks later and stayed head down. I think this baby's still rotating happily in there because I keep feeling kicks and punches in different places. I think experienced mws are very good at telling what position babies are in Smile.

IndomitabIe · 13/11/2015 21:52

Thanks! I'm not going to worry yet, but I am going to keep track of where the feet appear to be!

Beaut do you think you'll ever go back to midwifery?

ffauxlivia · 13/11/2015 22:07

Ah sorry missed to have so much, just wanted to come on here and wish missi well, I'll be thinking if you the next couple of weeks and hope flump stays put for every minute possible. I'm so glad you are in the right place with lots of family and friend support Flowers

Also ginger how are you doing? Felt any more movement yet? Hope you are getting some support with your anxiety too

21 weeks with an anterior placenta here which is really annoying when I am anxious anyway! Hardly feel anything but maybe I've been dismissing it all as digestion or hunger rumblings, as i only ever feel anything when I'm hungry or after food!

The last 2 nights I have seen what look like little a couple of tiny prods/jumps from the outside and I guess gas couldn't possibly do that?? Hopefully it is baby :)

ffauxlivia · 13/11/2015 22:09

Oh and a friend is lending me a Close Caboo, so glad to hear positive things! And I won a Beko Gemini carrier too. Have nothing else for the baby yet mind!

BeautifulLiar · 14/11/2015 03:41

Indom - very probably no, unless the DC were much older etc as you can kiss goodbye to any kind of life while doing the degree! Also the responsibility was overwhelming (but then I was an underconfident 21 year old). I did deliver some babies though :)

Missikat · 14/11/2015 05:30

Ffaux, thanks for your thoughts. Still nothing to report this morning thankfully.

I also have an anterior placenta, baby no 2, and the first movements I felt (20+weeks) were actually from outside too so i'd say that is baby you're feeling! Mine are all down very low, under my trouser line as placenta is high anterior under my belly button.

IndomitabIe · 14/11/2015 06:56

Have you seen the stuff that's gone down in Paris? How do people become so violent? What is wrong with people? How could anyone think that was a good idea? I don't understand...
