Potkettleblack2 thoughts with you, too. The waiting must be awful. xxx

Thanks laughingGnomette, I'm consoling myself that while it will be tough in the begining, I'm basically growing a lifelong playmate for DS1;-) Glad to hear thats how it worked out for you and your brother.

Anyone on here also with a small gap?

I had an ecs first time around and not sure if that will be a problem so close together...

13loki · 15/10/2015 10:30

ToInfinity big hugs, hope it is just stretching crampiness.

Meanwhile I am still bleeding with no cramping, and Tuesday (when I have a scan to see what is going on) seems an age away!
Every single person I work with has come to see how I am because I had 2 days off. I can't even with sympathy or anything, so I've said my cold is much better, thanks.

I am sat waiting for my Swedish lesson, but my teacher and the others aren't here.

tigress23 · 15/10/2015 10:30

Welcome Kensal and congrats Smile

Keeping my fingers crossed for you too potkettle xx

tigress23 · 15/10/2015 10:31

Loki, it must be awful waiting. I hope it all goes well for you Thanks

cheshirem2b · 15/10/2015 10:31

Oh wow! I have been so busy that I haven't had chance to log on and catch up!

Had a tiny amount of spotting at the weekend but I did with my first as well so nothing unusual. Other than that I seem to be touch wood avoiding morning sickness again!

Hope everyone is feeling ok!

mrsmugoo · 15/10/2015 10:41

Congrats KensalM2B my DS is 19 months so he'll be 2.3 when this one is born (fingers crossed that everything continues to go smoothly). Although I was more than ready to start trying again when he was 11 months, we actually started in April when he was 13 months.

I agree with you - I'm sure it is going to utterly hellish in the early days but it doesn't last forever and it will all be worth it for that lifelong sibling bond.

I will never forget the day after DS was born on the postnatal ward and seeing the woman in the opposite bed introduce her new baby to her toddler son - I was an emotional wreck witnessing that magical moment and have always imagined how special that moment will be.

laughingGnomette · 15/10/2015 10:43

Absolutely Kensal! :) I do feel quite sad for my DS that there won't be such a small gap for him. My mum said that when I was tiny she got my brother involved with everything, so for example it was his job to get the nappies and wipes when I needed to be changed. It made him feel really included and he enjoyed it apparently - it probably took her ages to get everything done though!!

laughingGnomette · 15/10/2015 10:45

13loki - what an awful wait. Thinking of you x Flowers

nehagarg · 15/10/2015 10:45

tigress ... I thought it was just me being odd! Its soooo reassuring to know that its not just me who cannot eat food I cook myself. Anyone else is ok! How weird is that? Confused

Potkettle loki ... Fingers crossed. All will go well with your scans, I am sure. Unfortunately the wait is the worst part

laughingGnomette · 15/10/2015 10:54

I really should be getting some work done but I'm working from home so can get away with some slacking!!

Couple of questions:
Is anyone using a pregnancy tracker app that they recommend? Babycentre was the only one around first time around for me, I'm sure there are loads more now.

Did anyone else feel sore after their internal scan? It's settled down now but I felt almost bruised after mine.

mrsmugoo · 15/10/2015 11:03

laughingGnomette I'm using Ovia but I've had to unsubscribe to the emails as I couldn't risk anyone in my office seeing an email entitled mrsmugoo's pregnancy 5 weeks 4 days etc…
I like the themes on Ovia that you can use to describe the size of the baby - they have some fun ones. Mine is currently the size of a BB gun pellet!

tigress23 · 15/10/2015 11:04

Nehagarg, I think when you cook yourself you are exposed to the cooking smells which trigger nausea. That said, even if someone were to cook me breakfast or lunch, I wouldn't be able to eat it.

I've gone off salmon entirely, which I normally love. I had to give away two nice pieces I was marinating in maple syrup, chill and tamari because it made me gag to think about eating it

tigress23 · 15/10/2015 11:06

Gnomette, I'm using Ovia too. I liked the fertility tracker beforehand, so just transitioned over. I quite like it. I've downloaded others to try out but uninstalled them because I couldn't get on with them

KensalM2B · 15/10/2015 11:28

mrsmugoo That's so nice to hear as I was wondering if DS1 would even be able to acknowledge what was going on - he certainly doesn't have that capacity now! laughingGnomette good tip on getting the little ones involved at the beginning. A good way of avoiding jealousy too, I expect! Also using Ovia - seems to be the pick of the bunch judging by responses here.

Nehagarg I had a really similar thing the first time round and it last most of pregnancy, although mainly just relating to meat. I'm usually a happy meat eater but I could not stand to be anywhere I could smell it cooking throughout the pregnancy. It got so bad that people talking about meat made me heave - I didn't even need to be near it! I once threw up in a bin during a work meeting when someone talked about a beef campaign. Hope it doesn't get like that for you!!!

tigress23 · 15/10/2015 11:43

Kensal, I'm giggling thinking of you puking in the bin during a meeting Wink and I'm hoping this doesn't give me bad karma so the same thing happens to me

nehagarg · 15/10/2015 12:02

Kensal .. you poor thing! Hope that doesnt happen again, though the thought of you puking in a bin during a meeting is making me smile. Smile

So far all I can keep down is vegetable juices. Have skipped dinner the past 3 days because the thought of food in the evening makes me want to heave!

tigress23 · 15/10/2015 12:23

I find skipping meals makes me way worse. I ate almost nothing for 5 days and started getting quite weak (think I've also lost weight, unfortunately) before I figured out that if I ate something small right as I got up, I didn't feel as nauseated. Then if I eat every time I don't feel very sick (something bland and uncooked) I manage to make it longer and longer between spells of nausea. Funnily enough, I am now most nauseated during my wee breaks in the night, presumably because my stomach is empty

Lovelybeano · 15/10/2015 12:44

Really feeling the early start now, only 2 more clients, 2 school runs and 3 dance classes to go - I can't wait for 630 so I can get my jimjams on!
My tummy is making some really weird noises today and I actually trumped while I was with a client today, I was packing my things away so I think it went unnoticed but I am so windy and I can't control it !! Please tell me someone is the same, I need an air freshener attached to my bum lol xx

BiffleRoo · 15/10/2015 12:50

I'm with you on the wind beano Blush

Aposey · 15/10/2015 13:29

laughingGnomette Im using Ovia too, its silly but Im really enjoying waking up to find another day on my tracker!

tigress Im the same, as long as Im eating regularly I don't seem too bad. But I can't believe it will last- my sister had the most horrific debilitating ms throughout both of hers and my mum was pretty bad so I can't believe I will get away with only a few dry heaves!

beano I farted my dh out of the bedroom yesterday Grin but that happens occasionally anyway, not sure I can blame that on being pregnant.

KensalM2B · 15/10/2015 13:39

nehagarg and tigress23 I really feel for you both! It's sucks for so many reasons; As if you aren't tired enough from the pregnancy, you aren't even getting enough calories to inspire more ;-( tigress23 that method worked for me last time, and lasted the first 16 weeks. After that I could eat MOUNTAINS! (as long as it wasn't meat). I honestly would eat 1kg of fruit salad for breakfast alone!

I hope that doesn't come back again... expensive! And a bit gross...

On the upside, I didn't suffer pregnancy constipation ;-)

Make sure you're both taking enough vitamins to make up for the lack of nutrients you're getting through food... if you can keep them down;-(

Belvedere · 15/10/2015 13:49

Another one for the ovia app but I've also got the NHS one which is really good.

My age gap will be 2 years 10 months which I think should be fine and I'll be able to keep the older one in nursery two days a week which he loves as he'll get his free hours.

Rose2806 · 15/10/2015 13:55

Hi guys,

I stayed away from the internet for a few days as googling stuff was driving me crazy!

Really sorry to those who are concerned, this pregnancy stuff is such an emotional rollercoaster :-( Keep positive though until you know anything for sure.

I had to go to my local early pregnancy unit today- been having dull aches and mild pains on one side, I almost didn't go as it didn't feel like much but in the end decided to go to be on the safe side as I'm supposed to be away for the weekend and most of next week. Was hoping/expecting to be told I was worrying too much and everything was fine but there is actually a chance I could have an ectopic from my scan- empty little fluid sac in my uterus and something more solid by my ovary. It could just be too early for them to see a uterine pregnancy so they need to see me back in 48 hours, sooner if symptoms get worse. I've also had bloods done to check hCG levels (apparently are low with an ectopic) and the results will come through this evening. Typically DH is away tonight :-(

It's really horrible trying to deal with the fact that not only might we not have our June baby after all but I could be in a potentially dangerous situation as well. If anyone has any experience of ectopic pregnancy in the past and particularly if you have had a successful pregnancy since I would really appreciate any advice.

On the plus side the staff there were much nicer than the GP!

obsessedlex · 15/10/2015 14:10

Oh rose im so sorry, I hope you are ok, fingers crossed for you. It's so beastly not knowing, that's what I can't cope with at the moment. You are wise to stay away from evil dr google...... Mr obsessed has almost banned me from the internet! Big hugx

bikingintherain · 15/10/2015 14:30

What a stressful time Rose, hopefully it will all prove fine in the end.

But if it is ectopic I just wanted to encourage you that a friend of mine had one and then conceived 3 months later with DC2 and all went well. Even though she lost one Fallopian tube, apparently the other side makes up for it and in most cases will release an egg from the other side each month. (Normally they alternate) and so often does not affect fertility. It also wasn't quite as emergency as she had expected. It took 5 days from them finding it to eventually operating.

But hopefully all be well for you. Flowers
