First trimester worries and joys. Test taking, morning sickness, midwife appointments and scans. It's all happening.

Can't believe we filled up a thread already. (I'll get this deleted if someone's already created a second thread, but I didn't see one!

www.babycenter.com/slideshow-baby-size?slideNumber=2#slideNumber2

Hopefully that works, its a size guide thing on the baby centre website. Must be similar to the ovia thing(I'm guessing that's an iphone thing?) I saved it on my phone last time round, its nice to see the week ahead etc. I think week 39 was a pumpkin!

DS was up at 5.30 today and has only just gone to bed, still haven't had my dinner or done the online shop, urgh, definitely feel more sick when I'm tired! Hope all the other sick/nauseous/headachey people feel better soon.

Who has the next 12 week scan?

PearlyFish · 15/10/2015 21:54

Thanks for the link bish. Hope you get some sleep soon.

PearlyFish · 15/10/2015 21:55

Someone said 22nd I think but there may be one sooner?

HoopoeQueen · 15/10/2015 22:14

Pearly in ovia when you click the fruit/vegetable to see how big your baby currently is, you can then click pick a theme to change it, my favourite is weird-but-cute animals - mine is a bee hummingbird this week!

PearlyFish · 16/10/2015 06:27

Hehe thanks Hoopoe, the themes are great! Love the bee hummingbird. I now get to choose between a kumquat, Lego man, petit four or tiny tropical fish Grin

DorotheaHomeAlone · 16/10/2015 08:41

Bish I think I'm probably next. I'm 12w today and scan is in 4 hours. Dd is not giving me much time to get excited/nervous though I was a bit on edge last night. Wish me luck.

VickyHW · 16/10/2015 09:06

Bishboshbash I like that slideshow!

DorotheaHomeAlone good luck with your scan today! :)

I'm horribly emotional this morning, was reading this thread when I got up and didn't know what PFB meant, googled it and just burst into tears for some reason. Then I cried in the shower thinking about having to go to work instead of back to bed, then had a cry on my husband because my back hurts.
Then I was nearly sick in Tesco, couldn't work out what I wanted to eat that would make me feel better, then I had another bit of a cry. Nearly crying typing this!

I missed a deadline yesterday by having a day off feeling so exhausted and I can see one of my editors circling, going to have to avoid her or I'll probably cry at her too! Aargh!

PeasinPod1 · 16/10/2015 12:12

Good luck Dorothea how exciting!

Anyone else finding their DH/DP intensely irritating? I'm full of raging, angry hormones at the moment grrrrr....

Ah Vicky sounds totally normal, the crying at everything thing started for me last week, but sorry to hear you are feeling emotional.

Mamama31 · 16/10/2015 14:41

Hope the scan went well Dorothea!

Vicky sorry your feeling so tearful, and Peas yes!!! I am feeling angry with DH one minute and upset/tearful with him the next! Why can he just not do anything right?!!!! Obvs him and not my crazy hormones!!!!! GRrrrrrr....

ParsnipSoup · 16/10/2015 14:53

I've been so rubbish at keeping up with the thread. Very exciting that people are having scans... I feel so much behind everyone being due at the end of May.

Peas I've been pretty horrid to my DP because he's really rubbing me up the wrong way. He keeps squishing my sore boobs or sick tummy with his arm while I'm in bed and a couple of days ago he ate ice cream too loudly. How dare he hug me or eat ice cream?! I'm turning into a monster...

StormTr00per · 16/10/2015 15:14

Finally had a few minute to have a read through the thread! So exciting seeing the first scan pics Smile

Parsnip had to laugh at the ice-cream rage.. I get annoyed at DH eating his coco pops loudly..

Southy84 · 16/10/2015 15:50

Hope everything's ok dorothea x

notsoold · 16/10/2015 16:05

Dorothea hope everything is ok.... xxx

I am also due much layer so my booking app is only next week.
But my symptoms have disappeared and I am very scared...very scared....

SeaSandandLove · 16/10/2015 17:22

HI! 27yo 2nd child, my daughter's 10yo now and very happy older sister to be. My due date 10/05/16 :)

Excited & feeling like first pregnancy after all these years.

Stopped smoking and drinking immediately after the test, was 2-3 weeks! First 4 weeks was very difficult to cope with quitting the bad habits but feeling better now & hubby on big effort to quit in support :)

ToffeeAppleMarsBar · 16/10/2015 17:28

Hi all, popping in to say hi again from Morocco.

Had a hectic few days which included climbing a mountain (what?!?! Why on earth did I think that was a good idea at 9 weeks pregnant) and soaking up the local culture here. Been feeling really rotten which is a real shame but think I'm over the worst now. Had a terrible cough which gave me the most horrendous sore throat and lost my voice completely for three days. Now I seem to have succumbed to typical traveller's belly and have been by the toilet all day. Great! Just hoping little baby is coping well in there with all this craziness going on.

I'm really sick of the food here! Don't mean to sound ungrateful and I'm usually really up for trying lots of different food but I am really missing the luxury of cooking my own meals.

Lots of lovely scan pictures I've seen on here and hope your scan went well today Dorothea. Good luck to others who have scans coming up.

Mines not until 2nd Nov. Eek.

Sorry to not be catching up properly but will do when I'm back in the homeland on Monday.

MollieRos · 16/10/2015 17:33

Dorothea hope the scan went well.

Vicky I barely held back the tears the other day because DH was cooking, defrosting some pasta sauce from the freezer. What he had thought was bolognaise actually turned out to be spicy tomato and sausage sauce. He was bemused, and I just about held myself together.

Notso my booking in isn't for another fortnight. I know it's not going to be very exciting in reality, but I'm really looking forward to it as it seems like kind of a milestone, and like things are finally happening. I'm sure things are ok with you- symptoms definitely come and go so I'm sure everything is fine.

DorotheaHomeAlone · 16/10/2015 18:32

Hey all, thanks for the good wishes! Scan was really great. All good and low risks all round. Can't recommend taking a 14m along though. Quite distracting for DH! Cute when she started copying the heartbeat noise though!!

As expected I was bumped back a couple of days. I officially belong here now. Due in 2 May!!!Grin

DorotheaHomeAlone · 16/10/2015 18:33

Almost forgot!!

May 2016 babies - thread 2!
Mamama31 · 16/10/2015 19:09

Ah that's lovely Dorothea! I'm sure you are delighted, lovely pic :)

PosterEh · 16/10/2015 19:56

Can't believe some of you are at 12 weeks! So exciting.

I'm feeling quite positive today. I've made it a week with no bleeding and I forgot my anti-sickness meds last night and have felt ropey all day. I'm hoping to gain a few days back at the next scan otherwise I think my due date won't be til June!

PosterEh · 16/10/2015 19:57

Plus I'm feeling very virtuous as I've been really good with my diet, exercise and meds so my blood sugars have been well controlled this week.

Grapefruit8 · 16/10/2015 20:20

Evening all! Absolutely loving seeing all these scan pics, ever so jealous of those that are at 12 weeks already! I'm 10 weeks tomorrow, my scan is 2 weeks on Monday. Definitely lost definition round my waist and feeling like tummy is really rounded now although it's probably all the carbs. Who has and hasn't told work? I haven't yet and I'm really nervous about it.

Mamama31 · 16/10/2015 20:20

Glad your feeling positive Poster, all good signs :)

I have my usual night time nausea...so grim! but nothing compared to some of your poor ladies on here so should think myself lucky really!

VickyHW · 16/10/2015 20:44

Haha Mollie pasta is serious business!!

Glad the scan went well Dorothea look at that little brain!! So cute. I find the scans so fascinating!

Yay for no bleeding Poster! I'm the same, no bleeding now (apart from one tiny instance of old blood at the weekend) since last Thursday so fingers crossed!

29redshoes · 16/10/2015 20:53

Hi all! Sorry I went missing for a few days, work has been really busy. Had a mini scare as had some brown spotting earlier in the week, called EPU and had a scan on Wednesday at 10 weeks exactly. Fortunately everything looked good, baby is measuring right and we even got a little wave from a tiny hand! Amazing! My 12 week scan is on October 29th, think there's a couple of us on that date.

mama it's funny, your nausea is the complete opposite to mine! I always feel much better in the evenings but the mornings are awful.

grapefruit I've told my direct manager but nobody else. She's been lovely about it and always asks how I'm doing when it's just the two of us with nobody else around. Sadly she doesn't seem to be sending any less work my way though!

poster glad you're feeling more positive.

Great scan dorothea! Lovely pic. Sorry to ask a silly question, but how does it work with finding out if you're low risk or not? Do they tell you there and then or do you have to wait around? I have a family history of neural tube defects so am particularly nervous about that test.

mollie I know what you mean about the booking in, I really looked forward to mine too. I know it's all just boring form filling but for a first timer like me it was actually quite fun!

Hope you're having a great time on holiday toffee. You are mad to be going mountain climbing! Great that you're getting proper exercise though, I keep telling myself I'll be more active in the second trimester...

Welcome seasand!

Has anyone seen fluffy around anywhere? I was wondering about her and what she decided to do about the pregnancy. Hope she is ok.

Sorry not to catch up with everyone, I've missed too much to go all the way back! Hope everyone is ok.
