First trimester worries and joys. Test taking, morning sickness, midwife appointments and scans. It's all happening.

Can't believe we filled up a thread already. (I'll get this deleted if someone's already created a second thread, but I didn't see one!

Lovely scan pics! I vote girl for both I think, going by the head shape thing!
Mamama is that supposed to be your 12 week scan? I don't think they can do the measurements for the nuchal part that early so you might have to go back, that's what happened with my DS. Not that having an extra scan is a bad thing obviously!

99percentchocolate · 14/10/2015 14:02

Hello again, so sorry to those of you who have had bad news. I hope you have good RL support.

Saw baby at 8+6 on Monday - seems to be doing very well and it is definitely not twins as previously suspected.
Still very sick though - have been admitted to hospital another two times since last week putting my current total at 3 admissions and daily monitoring by my GP. Definitely struggling with the hyperemesis and can't wait until this eases.

Not showing here yet but don't think it'll be too much longer - showed really early last time!

Bishboshbash · 14/10/2015 14:03

Oh and is anyone else struggling to sleep? The last two nights I have tossed and turned all night, absolutely exhausted today. Ds slept all night as well(which is a rare thing) bloody typical! Going to my booking in appointment shortly, hopefully I won't fall asleep on the midwife!

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 14/10/2015 14:43

Sorry to hear that 99 I'm on count 3 and bad hyperemisis too so I have plenty of sympathy :( there's a very good support thread for it :)
Lush to see scan pics :)
I'm the same with sleep too bish - so frustrating!

Nicky333 · 14/10/2015 14:44

I've been having really disrupted sleep. I'm waking up about 4am every night and sometimes before too. I'm feeling as though I've hardly slept at all as it's been so light. DH has currently decamped to the spare room...

Which is weird as I'm a really heavy sleeper usually and can sleep through anything.

Mamama31 · 14/10/2015 15:15

Bish yes that's my 12wk scan date but ill be 10+6, of course I'd love them to bring me back for an extra scan so don't mind.

I've been pretty restless the last 2 nights as well, hoping it isn't the beginning of insomnia as I need to go to work!

What is the theory with the scans if it might be a boy or a girl? I wouldn't even know what to look for! So are we all thinking both scans so far might be girls?? It's so exciting I love speculating! Haha!

Bishboshbash · 14/10/2015 15:48

Boy scans are meant to have a really flat forehead/square jaw I think, girls are more rounded. I might be making that up though?!

Mamama31 · 14/10/2015 15:55

Oh interesting I can't wait for mine now!!!

Billypug · 14/10/2015 16:24

I read about the nub theory and would guess at girl for mine on that basis.

We've just told my step-daughter. It was awful... She got so upset and just cried and said she didn't want it. Heartbreaking to see and of course I ended up in tears too. She's an only child and I think she finds it a bit scary that she'll be sharing our attention. Feel awful now and really wish we'd waited to tell her but DH thought she'd be so excited.

MollieRos · 14/10/2015 17:03

Lovely scan pictures Billy and Frozen they're both such good pictures.

Sorry you're both still so sick Icant and 99. I really hope you both start feeling a bit better soon.

My sleep has been really disrupted too- I'm waking up twice a night to go the toilet at the moment, and struggling to go back to sleep each time. I've been starving in the night often too, so I now go to bed with something to eat on my bedside so I can snack in the night. Probably not ideal but being hungry makes me feel so sick!

Has anyone else been getting headaches? I've had a low-level headache since I got pregnant, nothing too awful but fairly constant. I'm reluctant to take paracetamol unless it gets really bad, so I've just been trying to put up with it, but it's quite wearing. I seem to have escaped bad nausea sickness so far, and just have a constant low-level nausea all day which is manageable, so I can't really complain!

PinkBubbles1 · 14/10/2015 17:05

Great scan pictures!

billy bet that was tough with your step daughter. How old is she?

MollieRos · 14/10/2015 17:05

Sorry Billy, I just saw your other post. Sorry it was difficult with your step daughter. Maybe once she's had more time to get used ot the idea she'll feel a bit more positive about it? Maybe it was just the shock? How old is she?

Southy84 · 14/10/2015 17:09

That's a fab scan pic frozen love seeing these pics :)

Glad your scan went well too 99 sorry you've been so poorly though.

I'm also still a 4am waker! I literally feel like my bladder will explode when I wake up! I've just been asleep 2-4;30pm.... Only woke up as someone knocked on the door. Really really struggljng today, with tiredness and nausea.

billy sorry your step daughter didn't react as you expected, how old is she? I bet she will completely change when she realises she will have a brother or sister to play with, I know it doesnt make you feel better now but I'm sure as she sees your bump grow and feels them kick she will begin to bond with them and will become excited. Sending you hugs Flowers

Southy84 · 14/10/2015 17:10

I get headaches too mollie especially when I get tired

Billypug · 14/10/2015 17:30

She's nearly 5. She is very much a daddy's girl though I also have a very close relationship with her. When we do have her our time is devoted to making sure she has fun and I think she's going to find it so hard sharing our time.

Mollie I've had a headache the past 3 days. It was so bad yesterday that I had to take paracetamol as I couldn't even move.. It took the edge off it. Getting quite worried about returning to work next week.. The sickness, fatigue and headaches combined are not going to make me a very effective worker!

Mamama31 · 14/10/2015 18:41

Billy sorry to hear your SD was upset with the news but she is young and I'm sure once she has a proper think about it she will come round to the idea. Also, children are so changeable, one day the news could have made them so happy and excited, and another day upset about it. But she will love the baby when it arrives there is no doubt about that and she will get used to sharing you.

I'm feeling exhausted and my usual evening nausea has kicked in. Toast for dinner it is!!!

Bishboshbash · 14/10/2015 18:53

Sorry to hear about your SD reaction Billy, hopefully she will come round to the idea soon.

We are having roast for dinner, hopefully I will feel up to eating it!
Met my lovely midwife today, she was great and said that should be no problem to have a planned section so feeling much more positive now.
What's everyone up to this evening?

Billypug · 14/10/2015 18:56

Thanks, I'm sure you're both right and it's just a matter of time for her to get used to the idea.

Currently I'm lying on the sofa whilst DH Hoover rounds me! Not really feeling like eating anything but know I should. People keep telling me that the nauseous will get better from 12w so I'm really hoping that's true!

HoopoeQueen · 14/10/2015 19:28

Hi everyone, been lurking a while as wasn't sure whether to join the April or May thread... My dates gave me a due date of 29th April up but as I'd just come off the pill I was convinced I'd be moved later, and I was right! Had my scan this morning and they said I'm 11 weeks, due date of 4th May. It was amazing to see my little baby moving around, and I get to go back in 2 weeks for another scan as it was too early to do the nuchal today.

I am another one that's not sleeping well, I've been waking up a few times a night and I'm feeling absolutely knackered!

It's lovely to see other people's scans, keep them coming!

May 2016 babies - thread 2!
ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 14/10/2015 19:33

Welcome hoop a lovely scan pic and bonus you get another one!

Greyhorses · 14/10/2015 19:59

Lovely scan pics everyone! I can't wait for mine...two weeks to go Smile

I'm also not able to sleep inbetween needing the toilet and crazy dreams! I didn't realise this was a symptom but it's driving me mad!

GrouchyKiwi · 14/10/2015 20:09

Congrats, Hoopoe. What a lovely scan.

Love your scan too, frozen.

I'm very envious about them. It's 4 weeks before I get mine!

ODog · 15/10/2015 08:39

Lots of lovely scan news.

Welcome hoop and sorry your Step daughter was upset billy, like others have said, she is only little and I'm sure she will come round.

Sorry if I've missed anyone, this thread moves so quickly.

ODog · 15/10/2015 08:41

Also in other weird pregnancy news. Last time my belly button popped right out and it turns out I have a weird red dot on the inside of my belly button. I have just noticed I can see the red dot again. Ahhhhh I'm not even 11 weeks yet!!!
