First trimester worries and joys. Test taking, morning sickness, midwife appointments and scans. It's all happening.

Can't believe we filled up a thread already. (I'll get this deleted if someone's already created a second thread, but I didn't see one!

Notso I don't think we will dtd until after the 12wk scan, just because of the spotting I had wk 6-7 I would be terrified if it started again. Even after 12wks I think DH is going to be cautious about it, he has said "can we not just do other things" he's terrified to disrupt anything poor soul!! Haha! I'm sure I can talk him round in the moment though ha!

But yes it will be nice to be intimate with no other reason than we want to be. I do miss the closeness but I couldn't think of it until I know all is well after 12wks.

Billy are you our first 12wk scan then?! How exciting! Do you think you will post the pic on here? I'm sure you just can't wait :)

Southy I know I think 2 doors on EPU is a very good idea. Not feeling to heated today thankfully but sometimes I just get so warm with really hot feet! But last night my feet were freezing....one extreme to the next!

Southy has your spotting stopped? Will you be seeing EPU again?

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 12/10/2015 12:46

I'm another one that's waiting to dtd due to spotting though DP isn't very happy about it!
Had scan date through - 30th October yay :)

Billypug · 12/10/2015 12:52

I'll happily post the scan pic mama! I'll be showing anyone that cares to look!

I just sneezed and had horrible pain in my abdomen. Was very odd!

Just treated my hubby to tickets to see Michael McIntyre on Friday.. He's put up with 3 weeks of me doing pretty much nothing. Couldn't even cook his tea for him after he finishes long shifts as the smell made me sick!

Southy84 · 12/10/2015 13:33

mama the spotting seems to have stopped, it was only really there most of Saturday then eased off which I found reassuring, I'm not going to bother the epu unless it happens again (although part of me really wants to) I'm just hoping when I see my mw Thursday that she agrees to try to bring my scan forward for me. When's your 12 week scan again?

Oh exciting icant not too long to wait :)

Looking forward to seeing your scan pic billy ive also had that sneeze pain once or twice now. What a lovely treat for your dh I'm sure you'll have a fab time!

PeasinPod1 · 12/10/2015 14:07

Not DTD either!! Thought it was just us! Again because the last time we did it, around 4 weeks the day after I had 1 of my 2 epsiodes of spotting/bedding, def not risking it again for a while even if not linked!

On another note are any of you ladies gym goers- as was wandering how you have been approaching gym/training so far? I continued 1st few weeks into the pregnancy but after spotting I stopped, but went for 1st in 6 weeks on Sat... Took it much easier than I normally would've but felt bloody brilliant (& loving that my thighs are finally burning again!) Smile

Muffin7 · 12/10/2015 14:18

Hi all.

Sorry for the lack of interaction, we are having our house renovated so that coupled with exhaustion and nausea have made for a very grumpy and tired me!

All seems to be going okay with me, is anybody else showing as yet? I'm 10+2 and am struggling to not let on that I'm pregnant.

Our 12 wk scan is a week on Friday, even though we had a private scan I'm still really nervous!

frozensmoothie · 12/10/2015 14:20

No DTD here either, too worried about spotting/bleeding.

I've had the weird sneezing/abdomen pain thing too!

Haven't been very good at keeping up the gym routine. Have been trying to manage once a week but not always managed that. I'm too tired to go after work so only go at weekends if I feel up to it. Even when I do make it I don't end up doing much, especially after I had a bout of wretching and dry heaving on the excercise bike! I don't want to lose my fitness and for the weight to pile on (may already be too late for that!) but reluctant to cancel my membership yet as I'm hoping I will start to feel more energetic in the second trimester.

Glad the spotting has stopped Southy.

VickyHW · 12/10/2015 14:52

I had spotting/bleeding basically from conception until the end of week 8 (week 9 now, fingers crossed it's mostly stopped) and we haven't DTD since we found out, I've been too stressed out about the spotting, and can't face bringing it on again.

My midwife advised waiting until after the 12 week scan to be on the safe side, these weeks are going by S O S L O W L Y it's torture!

ODog · 12/10/2015 14:53

I haven't been to the gym since early pregnancy with DS as I haven't had the time or energy to commit to a membership. However, I did basically nothing in the first trimester last time as I was way too tired. Started walking for 30mins a day in tri2 as well as swimming a mile once a week. Then once I went on Mat leave I continued this and added in an aquanatal class. Kept all that up right up until birth and felt great for it. I think it defo helped getting back into shape after birth. I went to lots of buggy fit/mum&baby exercise classes when DS was pre-crawling which were great.

This time, I have mostly managed to keep up yoga one evening a week but I am starting to feel the odd bit of pain in some postures. I guess where everything is stretching out and joints becoming looser. I will try and keep it up for the next couple of weeks and switch to the ante natal class after the scan. Hopefully that combined with running about after DS will be enough....

PeasinPod1 · 12/10/2015 15:16

OH Frozen dry retching/collapsing on the bike sounds horrific poor you!

odog you sound very active, very impressed/jealous! I piled on far too much with DS and gave up on the gym mid way through pregnancy so hoping to keep it up longer this time, even if very gently. Madly I've never done yoga but always wanted to- do you think I should try yoga pregnancy classes?

Mamama31 · 12/10/2015 15:58

Southy I haven't got my 12wk scan date yet, EPU said on sat that they don't arrange it until EPU has discharged me so should hear soon I think. Seeing the midwife on wed so will chat to her about it.

Billy that's lovely I'm sure your DH will be very pleased with that. A nice treat.

Today is the first day I've been very motivated, done lots of housework, cleaning, washing etc and have been feeling strangely quite good. Of course that worries me....never ending! anyone else starting to feel a bit more normal around 9+2wks?? Maybe lazing around feeling sorry for myself was making me feel worse and some motivation/doing stuff has helped?! Who knows!

VickyHW · 12/10/2015 16:00

I've just been looking up my local pregnancy yoga classes, they're really expensive!

I think I'm going to give them a go though, until I found out I was pregnant I played roller derby which is v high impact/contact so is out of the window, and had actually signed up and joined a women's rugby team the day before I got my BFP so that's also a non-starter - I don't know anything about non-violent sports that are suitable for preggos!

royaldub · 12/10/2015 16:08

Hi ALL,
Sorry I havent posted as much, mad busy with work and evenings I dont have the energy to log in!

Mama I am 9w +2 today as well :) and I do feel more normal, I get the odd wave of nausea but nothing as bad as last few weeks, trying not to worry though that means something is up, though sickness started at 4 weeks for me, so guessing its about time I feel normal now.

Think I am definitely showing now(it is my second!), my belly button is looking odd and I caught one of the girls looking at my belly this afternoon too, bet ya when I tell them in three weeks time they will be like we knew weeks ago!

Vicky - I think Im going to do pregnancy yoga too - it is €50.00 for five weeks here and its on perfect time in evenings for me straight after work, I am doing some walking but thats about it, was never really a gym bunny however I am going to start taking up swimming also!

Hi to everyone else sorry this was just a quick catch up, hope to post more actively!!

notsoold · 12/10/2015 16:18

I used to go to zumba lessons 3 times per week plus 45 minutes or more everyday ( but to slow pace to count as I have the toddler with me ...we can stop to look at leaves every few steps!!!). But we clock about a mile everyday (dh says it is further than that).
In the last 2 weeks I only went twice a week instead of 3 times though

DorotheaHomeAlone · 12/10/2015 16:25

You're all so active! I'm not normally and have ditched even my normal
Pilates class recently as too tired. Plenty of sex here though Grin so maybe that counts?

My 12 week scan is on Friday. Cannot wait. We've told no one but my mum and I am definitely 'thickening' around the waist much earlier this time. Plus people keep trying to make work and social plans for next April and I hate lying/fudging. Fingers crossed for Friday then it can all be out in the open.

DorotheaHomeAlone · 12/10/2015 16:25

Oh, I also get the sneeze twinges. Just put it down to stretching/ligaments.

royaldub · 12/10/2015 16:45

Dorothea, that definitely counts Grin
I seen to be totally gone off sex we havent done it like few of ye since getting the bfp, just dont seem to be in the mood at all, hopefully that will change lol!

I did this dvd when pregnant with DS, its very gentle and relaxing. Sadly I think I've lost it so might need to get a new one. Not that I would get peace to do it nowadays!

Southy84 · 12/10/2015 18:09

Oh peas don't go to the gym, you're just making me feel bad for being a lazy slob Blush good on you though, wish I had been going. I have been trying to do walking though.

Hope your house renovations are going well muffin good luck with your scan Friday, can't believe there's another 12 week one already, time suddenly seems to have sped up for some (not for me though hehe)

I will be trying to get more active once I have it confirmed that this bleed has gone, it's scaring me at the moment. Definitely looking into yoga though

Southy84 · 12/10/2015 18:10

Oh bish thanks for the link! Will be looking into that!

Bishboshbash · 12/10/2015 18:19

Oh and I very rarely exercise apart from walking if that makes anyone feel better!! ;-)

ODog · 12/10/2015 19:09

I have asked DH to get me some antenatal yoga/exercise DVDs for my birthday on Friday. I doubt he's organised enough to have actually bought it yet so he can Amazon prime that. I'll email him that link later. Thanks bish

GrouchyKiwi · 12/10/2015 19:37

This thread is so fast moving I can't keep up.

I don't really do any exercise. I figure running after a toddler and a 3 year old is enough, plus going up and down the stairs about a million times a day to change nappies etc. My exercise bike stares at me sullenly from the corner of the lounge.

Feeling very emotional and exhausted today. Really can't wait till the second trimester.

OP posts:
PosterEh · 12/10/2015 19:39

I do 30mins on the exercise bike every night once the kids are in bed but only because it's part of the plan for managing my diabetes during pregnancy. I am not a lover of exercise but I've found its really helped with my stress levels the last few days and I'd even say I've been enjoying it.

MollieRos · 12/10/2015 20:21

Southy my early scan is on Sunday. I'm pretty much counting down the days! I've had two friends who've recently had missed miscarriages, so I've been really worried that the same will happen to me. Sewing: I do some sewing but just clothes normally, so curtains is a new adventure. But how hard can it be... it's just straight lines right?! (and yards and yards of fabric, aargh)

we haven't dtd either... for no real reason as I haven't had any bleeding or even spotting. But I feel too worried that something might happen (I know- illogical!) so I think we'll end up waiting till after the 12wk scan.

I've been really lazy and done very little exercise over the past couple of years, though I used to be reasonably fit before then. Pregnancy has pushed me into getting a bit more active again. I've been trying to do something small every evening, just a short session on the exercise bike or a half hour walk (it's very hilly round us so wherever I walk I get nice and out of breath). But I've felt so tired and sick recently that it's gone out the window. But I'm going to try and persevere on days when I feel better. I might go for that yoga DVD- actual classes are so expensive. Has anyone got any similar recommendations for a pilates DVD for a complete beginner?
