First trimester worries and joys. Test taking, morning sickness, midwife appointments and scans. It's all happening.

Can't believe we filled up a thread already. (I'll get this deleted if someone's already created a second thread, but I didn't see one!

Southy and Ljjeffro, I agree about the waiting room. They are always running late at our EPU last scan was 40 mins late and as it was my first scan I thought I was going to pass out!!! This time was only about 15mins late but felt like hours! I actually said to DH I'm so glad we (all being well) won't have to sit in that waiting room again. It's quite a relief really but I just can't wait to see how the little jellybean is doing at 12wks as will be so much more like a real baby :)

StormTr00per · 10/10/2015 21:02

So sorry to hear that beckle sad news indeed Sad

southy I am about 10+2 (I think!) so hopefully will get the scan date next week, or I'll start chasing it up. I have no patience!

Bishboshbash · 10/10/2015 21:23

So sorry Beckle x

Southy84 · 10/10/2015 21:43

40 minutes Is a long time to wait mama! I felt bad enough waiting 20. I have to say it's the only place I don't get annoyed if they are running behind as I know unexpected things can happen, and somtimes people receive bad news, it's a very emotional place to be, I wanted to hug one lady the other day, I could tell she'd had bad news and I literally had a lump in my throat as I knew exactly how she felt.

More spotting and cramps for me today, it seems to happen more at weekends so I'm wondering if it's because I'm walking more/generally doing more, I hope it is. I don't think I can phone the epu again on Monday or they will probably start to get really annoyed with me and think I'm a time waster.

storm I think you've been really patient waiting Til you're over ten weeks, id chase next week if I were you, just in case it's been overlooked (that's my impatient side Wink )

notsoold · 11/10/2015 00:46

beckle I am so sorry for your news and I hope you have rl support xxx

Mamama31 · 11/10/2015 10:32

Southy our EPU has two doors, one to enter and another to leave so that if you have bad news your not leaving upset in front of everyone waiting. I'm so glad as when I had my mmc and received the bad news I was in bits and would not have wanted to walk out through the waiting room or to worry other ladies waiting.

Southy I don't think you should worry about contacting EPU too often, that's what they are there for and I was seen weekly last pregnancy whilst I was still spotting. They also said to call them for a chat any time if I was worried. So they do expect to be called upon as it is such a stressful time. I hope the spotting stops it is a pain in the arse!

frozensmoothie · 11/10/2015 13:43

Had my private scan this morning. All is looking good, baby was wriggling around and waving it's arms and legs. Was measuring slightly earlier than I thought so I'm 10+6 and due date changed to 2nd May. They even did a bit in 4d so I got a 4d print out as well as the normal ones! So relieved that everything is ok Smile

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 11/10/2015 14:07

Aw that's lush news frozen :)

Mamama31 · 11/10/2015 14:13

Frozen that's amazing! How lovely for you :) sounds like an excellent scan. I can't wait to see more with arms and legs etc!!!

Mamama31 · 11/10/2015 14:28

Is it just me or is anyone else feeling so overheated?? How will I cope when I'm huge and it's spring time! I'm soooo warm!

MollieRos · 11/10/2015 17:38

Lovely news Frozen Smile It must have been so good to see your wriggly bean. I've booked myself an early scan for next week when I'll be 8wks, just have to hold on till then.

Mama I keep feeling overheated too, I'm already feeling so hot at work with the central heating on, I'm not sure how I'll manage either when I'm huge! And I'm always a hot sleeper but I'm having both windows open so DH is having to layer up so he doesn't freeze!

MollieRos · 11/10/2015 17:59

How has everyone's weekend been? DH has had a horrible cold and I've been feeling really sick and exhausted so we've pretty much just mooched around and barely left the house. I made a start on making curtains for the living room today, and that's about it! Nice to have some lazy days Smile

frozensmoothie · 11/10/2015 18:13

Thanks everyone! Hope your scan goes well Mollie

I've not been feeling too overheated yet.

I'm still feeling pretty grotty amd exhausted too so have had lots of mooching around lazy weekends. I had to work yesterday which was exhausting but luckily have tomorrow off to compensate so I'm sure I'll be doing more lazing and mooching. I feel like I've barely left the house over the past few weeks apart from to go to work and the supermarket.

PosterEh · 11/10/2015 18:15

We went to the zoo to take our minds off things and treat the kids.

I feel a bit more positive today. I remember being put back 5 days at my 12 week scan with the other two so maybe I do have slow growing babies. And I did feel like I ovulated a few days later than the 28 days they are going by. Still hard to think an 11 day discrepancy is anything but bad news though.

ODog · 11/10/2015 21:37

poster I really feel for you not knowing but I honestly feel that seeing a heartbeat can only be a positive thing.

Can't believe it's Monday again tomorrow. I only work 2 days it I still dread it every Sunday. Can't wait for mat leave already. Only 5/6 months to go......

notsoold · 11/10/2015 22:40

poster mine are always slow growing kids.... xxx
mama overheating here and stopped wearing non cotton fabric as made it much worse.

Not sick today and ds1 was away (until 5.30pm). So... we dtd first time this weekend since I found out about pg(sorry tmi). I know it is ok but was a bit concerned about so early in pg. But it is so nice to dtd without thinking of ttc!!!! ( you can count on me to always lower the toneGrin)

ODog · 12/10/2015 07:07

2 weeks until the 12 week scan and 10weeks today. Double figures at last!

Billypug · 12/10/2015 08:34

Hi ladies, I've not posted for a while so thought I'd check in. So sad to see some ladies news isn't good, but am amazed at how strong some people are... I know I wouldn't be.

Poster keeping everything crossed for you. I had a horrible start to this pregnancy when I was told they thought it was ectopic. The wait for the scan felt like forever! Just try and stay positive am sure your little one is fine Smile

Had my mw appt yesterday. Wasn't that exciting really.. The amount of form filling was crazy! But I did get told my 12w scan is booked for Wednesday!! Can't wait.

I've been signed off work another week due to the sickness/nauseous. Was hoping to be back this week but GP wants me to have another week. Luckily my manager is very understanding!

VickyHW · 12/10/2015 09:01

Beckle & Brenna I'm really sorry for your news Flowers

Everything crossed for you too Poster! x

VickyHW · 12/10/2015 09:04

Mamama31 I'm incredibly overheated a lot of the time, my husband calls me a toasty little cinnamon bun haha. It was freezing when I got up this morning and I still put the fan on in our bedroom.

Bishboshbash · 12/10/2015 09:17

I am the opposite, I am freezing!!

PeasinPod1 · 12/10/2015 09:48

Brenna and Beckle just catching up on this thread since Friday, totally gutted and very sad to hear your updates. Nothing more anyone can say I know, other than thinking of you and wiling you to stay strong and once you have recovered, you'll try again and will go on to have your babies. Huge huge hugs xx

Poster sending positive thoughts & glad you are able to see bit more clearly and realise dates could be behind and still all ok, I was 5 days behind my known dates earlier with this prg bean suddenly had crazy growth spurt - in space of 10 days was suddenly 7 days ahead again!

PeasinPod1 · 12/10/2015 09:50

bish also completely freezing all the time...could sit in a sauna with 5 thick coats and a fire furning and still not be hot enough!! Doesn't help my office at work is like an igloo with air con blasting out thanks to the request of a severely irrigating male colleague Angry

PeasinPod1 · 12/10/2015 09:51

argh sorry for typos, fault of my near frozen fingers!!

Southy84 · 12/10/2015 10:05

Thanks mama I'm impressed that your epu has two doors, ours doesn't and I do think it's heartbreaking for a lot of people and quite unfair. I'm suffering with the heat thing at night! I feel like I'm abroad! The nausea has hit again big time, couldnt get to work today so having to work from home.

frozen that's brilliant news! So pleased your scan went well :)

That's good news you've managed to book yourself in for a scan mollie what day is it? My nausea seemed to hit big time over the weekend so didn't do much, I wish I could sew, I'm always envious of people who make their own curtains/cushions etc. I couldn't even thread a sewing machine at school!!

I'm glad you had a nice weekend poster it can be hard to determine exact age that early on and I was measuring earlier on my first two scans too, then at mine last week I suddenly was put forward 4 days, sometimes cycles are unpredictable and it is possible you OV later than you thought, I am still crossing everything for you.

I'm been advised again DTD notso and feel very bad for dh! I agree though about the DTD not ttc will be very strange.

Happy ten weeks odog I'm 9 today :)

Hi billy I'm so excited for you that you get your 12 week scan this week! Also a bit jealous! Sorry you've been ill but that's really good that you have an understanding manager.

Hi vicky and bish hope I haven't missed anyone x
