started a new thread as the old one was getting full up. Thought I would post the link to stats here too so people can update if they want!

Had anyone been looking at prams?

We've never bought a new pram before (PILd bought them before, they were second hand and we used to be skint so had to reuse for third baby!) but as DH has promised I can have a brand new pram I've pretty much been looking since I got the BFP Blush

I'm hoping to get the Cosatto Giggle 2, probably in Moonwood design as we won't know the sex. I'm currently training my youngest to walk everywhere cos I'm not using a double pram again!! (She'll be 3 in November). Excited :)

Rosieblossom123 · 14/09/2015 13:42

Beautiful That's what we're getting, I love Cosatto! We'll get the Flamingo Fling if it's a girl and the Firebird if it's a boy! they are so light and trendy :) just waiting for the free car seat offer to start haha

BeautifulLiar · 14/09/2015 13:54

Aww really Rosie? That's ace. I LOVE Flamingo Fling! I should probably buy it anyway, I've decided I must be having a girl as my sickness hasn't buggered off yet!

We've got a Cosatto high chair and car seat for our two year old, but she's told me in no uncertain terms that the baby will not be using them! Ha. We'll have to see about that...

TriJo · 14/09/2015 13:54

Haven't got a clue re prams Beautiful. Was in Mothercare with DH yesterday for a quick look and now I think he's even more confused! We don't want to spend the earth on a travel system, we want something that's good value.

QforCucumber · 14/09/2015 14:02

I'm getting the Venicci in Black and Chrome, as we aren't finding out I figured it's quite unisex and I love it as a full travel system. FIL has offered to give £400 towards it too which is a bonus too.

I like the Cosatto giggle but was put off after seeing it on Watchdog a few times Confused

Rosieblossom123 · 14/09/2015 14:07

Beautiful same here I'm convinced I'm having a girl too 15+1 and still being sick at least twice a week :( I love their products so quirky! haha she doesn't want to share already, bless her. I was in Mothercare two weeks ago and there was a manager's special on the Firebird including the car seat for £440 can you believe it! DH really wanted to buy it but I really want to find out the sex first because I'm in love with the flamingo fling, hopefully they'll have a sale soon!

BeautifulLiar · 14/09/2015 14:10

Qforcucumber that's the Cosatto Giggle 1 - wouldn't touch with a barge pole. This is Cosatto Giggle 2 which doesn't have the same issue and is newer.

That's a good offer Rosie! We've already got the Maxi cosi cabriofix :( so can't really get another car seat!

BeautifulLiar · 14/09/2015 14:14

Ooh and Rosie to be fair I had morning sickness with my boy. It was worse with the girls though. Or maybe seemed worse as I had other children to look after and a degree to hold down?! Aahhhh I'm so tempted to book a gender scan for a week today. Although if they say girl I'll just feel like it's a bit of an anti climax, like "yeh I already knew that, DH has already made two girls!"

BeautifulLiar · 14/09/2015 14:15

A week tomorrow*

maybebabybee · 14/09/2015 14:15

Is it bad that I bought a Britax pram/pushchair at the weekend in a charity shop for £30 Blush

Rosieblossom123 · 14/09/2015 14:20

Beautiful I'm so tempted to do the same and find out in a private scan but dp refused he said we will wait until our 20 week scan on the 16th oct :( I'm just getting really impatient. would you be able to fit the maxi cosi on the cosatto frame? do you buy different adapters?

Q same here MIL offered us £500 towards a buggy very kind of her, it will really help us.

QforCucumber · 14/09/2015 14:27

maybe the pram set is the only thing we are buying new,
cotbed and furniture been offered free from SIL,
got moses basket and baby bath given from a friend at the weekend.

And as FIL has offered the money towards the travel system I'm game for buying new haha - works out we will be paying about £90 towards it ourselves.

BeautifulLiar · 14/09/2015 14:27

Maybe - definitely not bad! What a bargain! For my first child I bought almost everything from car boot sales and charity shops - had no choice.

Rosie - it definitely won't go on that pram, but I've got a tiny Quinny stroller that I keep in the car that it clips onto. So I'll use that instead of the big pram if we're just, say, nipping into the co op.

Wow those are some generous offers! DH's family have no money. My family are rolling in it - but are unpleasant people that I don't associate with! Luckily I'd saved up a few hundred to take the kids on days out over the summer, but as I was so ill and we did nothing I can use that to buy a new pram.

My DH would LOVE me to find out the sex asap - he really wants to know!! He's not bothered about surprises though.

Rosieblossom123 · 14/09/2015 14:35

Beautiful my dp family are the only ones that are helping, mine are unpleasant too so don't want anything from them. I see what you mean its always handy to have any easy small stroller in the car for quick outings :)
I'm not bothered about the sex either, I just want to know haha

I bought a rocking crib instead of a moses basket so it's slightly bigger from Mothercare was £99.99 down to £49.99 couldn't resist. We're using my step son's High chair mil kept it its basically new. The one thing I really want to buy but my dp has refused is the mamaroo I wish :( £269 tho crazy money!!

QforCucumber · 14/09/2015 14:44

beautiful Dp's family are helping, mine have no money, and my DM likes to plead poverty every time I see her and guilt me into giving her whatever I have in my purse - she's a whole thread in herself - funnily enough i don't see her often now.

My DB's I get on very well with but they're both younger than me and single so first baby on my side here. I am absoloutly gutted that my granny passed just after we found out about bfp as she brought me up and it breaks my heard she won't be in my babys life and didn't even get to know I'm pregnant - if it's a girl baby will have grannys name as her middle name and will know all about her.

I'm starting to worry about the car, have a 3 door corsa and hoping I'll be able to fit baby seat between the door pillar and the seat when its forward, looking at getting isofix base to make life easier but don't know if to just trade it in for something with 5 doors. Can't afford extra repayments at the minute so something a little bit older but bigger. It's a 2010 car so could maybe get a 2007 one or something. argh I don't know.

BeautifulLiar · 14/09/2015 14:45

Yep i just want to know!! I'm a very nosey person!

What's a mamaroo? I'm not using a moses basket this time, we're gonna get the Chicco Next 2 Me cot. Wish I'd known about it before! I used to be too exhausted to even put the baby back in the moses basket in the middle of the night and end up falling asleep in bed with them.

BeautifulLiar · 14/09/2015 14:50

Q that's awful! Poor you. I'm also gutted my grandma won't get to meet this baby, would love to use her name as middle name but I don't really want the initials "NAJ" - seems dodgy somehow?!

Also I had a 3 door Clio until my second child was 9 months. I remember getting all stressed about it but it was fine, pain in the arse on occasion but generally fine.

I'm also in a car predicament... four children, and a little hatchback! I'm thinking DH can bike into town haha.

Rosieblossom123 · 14/09/2015 15:12

Beautiful It's a rocker and you could plug your iphone and it does loads of movement I watched the videos and it looks amazing. It's slightly cheaper in John Lewis.

www.johnlewis.com/4moms-mamaroo-baby-rocker-grey/p1855257

I also wanted to buy the next to me cot but was so expensive I thought especially that I wana buy the cocoona baby mattress that's another £100, my dp is getting so angry with all my spending ha

Crispylicious · 14/09/2015 16:11

We'll need a double buggy, so will be forking out the cost of a small car! I think my mum may help with the cost though. Annoyingly our 2ndhand bugaboo is buggered, so we're going to get a cheap stroller to see us through until we get the double.

I'm after a snooze pod for sleeping. It's v expensive but like beautiful found the Moses basket didn't really work. It's a co-sleeper so hoping I can whack a boob in the baby's mouth, without having to remove him/her from the cot Grin

My insomnia is awful at the mo. Has anyone used a relaxation podcast/audio that they could recommend? Am determined to not be awake 2 hours in the night tonight. Insomnia I will beat you!

dobbythedoggy · 14/09/2015 16:17

We don't need to buy much for this baby. Knew we wanted more so kept everything from dd, appart from the baby bath which drove me crackers as it was impossiable to store. Likely to bath this baby at the same time as dd or in the sink, just don't need another plastic montrosity taking up half the floor space in the bathroom. Just going to need to replace the cot bed matress and possiably mosses basket matress (amazon does them for about £6) just to put my mind at ease.

maybe dd had mostly second hand prams, from facebook or charity shops, made me feel less guilty when I fancied a change. We've got a massive tank of a pram/pushchair with a massive shopping basket that was by far the best, £30 from a charity shop, and a dream to push. We're going to have to invest in some sort of lie flat stroler at some point, dd's still got an emergency one, which is awful to push, but is 6 months +. Just need to find one that folds small and easily, can be pushed with one hand... Looking forward to spending on a few nice wraps/slings mostly wore dd and used the pram for shopping. And there are so many pretties out there. Think we're going to try a buggy board for dd.

Going to need to work out what to do about a car seat at some point. Fancy trying a group 0-1 this time so it can just be kept in my parents car ready to go. We don't drive, but my mum and dad are really hoping to upgrade to a 7 seater of some description once the mot runs out on their picaso next year, so they can keep doing big family outtings. Dad's been desprate for a car with a bit more space for a couple of years so is quite pleased to have a reason to need it. His dream veichal would be a transit as I he'd be garenteed headspace and could always get in and out easily. He keeps asking if we plan on a couple more so he can invest in a big enough car now.

MyNameIsSuz · 14/09/2015 16:18

Whoa, that mammaroo looks like it would take up a lot of space! That's always my main concern as we're in a little two bed flat. Fine with just ds, not sure where I'm going to cram in the tiny. I was thinking of hiring an nct bedside crib, but might get a regular crib instead - absolutely no space for a cot in our room and want to keep it in with us as long as possible to minimise disruption to biggy, and although ds was small enough for the Moses basket for months and months it would be just my luck to chuck out a big one this time.

Sticking with my quinny buzz as it's perfect for living upstairs (light with nice big back tyres so can bump it up a whole flight of stairs and come inside with a sleeping baby) but I do wish i could trade it for one with a decent shopping basket. I'd go for an uppababy Vista I think.

Rosieblossom123 · 14/09/2015 16:35

MyNameIsSuz I was worried about the size too, not sure now what to do I hate big bulky stuff need to go to the shop and look at it in real life!

Me624 · 14/09/2015 16:52

I have 3 door car worries too, I drive a Mini Cooper and the front passenger seat doesn't go very far forward so it's a pain getting a seat in and out the back. I've tried a couple that do fit though, the maxi cosi cabriofix and the cossato hold.

For prams we are again very restricted by what will fit in the boot of the mini but I think we've decided on the iCandy peach 3. My parents have kindly offered to buy it though I don't think they have any idea how much it costs! So will suggest they contribute however much they had in mind and we will pick up the rest.

Can any experienced mums recommend a sling? I really like the idea of one for round the house but I am totally useless at anything that requires complicated tying/folding so bit concerned about the wrap ones. I really like the ease of bag ones but my preliminary research shows that there are major suffocation concerns with these so will steer clear.

MyNameIsSuz · 14/09/2015 17:02

Does it fold Rosie? Sorry I didn't mean to put you off!

me, I'd recommend a Moby wrap when they're tiny, once you get the hang of wrapping them they're great. Otherwise I'd go with something like an ergo, very comfortable and good for the baby's hips etc. I have a boba 3g and a Moby and will be using both (once I get them back from the friends I lent them too)! The front facing slings are popular but lots of people find they're not very comfortable as they put all the weight on your shoulders.

BeautifulLiar · 14/09/2015 17:08

OMG Rosie I've just googled the Mamaroo and I have to have it!!! I've text DH with a link and a begging text, I hope he agrees (hey, I need to get something out of him working away all the time!). Now need a tape measure to see if it would fit in the living room... ha!
