Toes that wonderful news. So glad everything is going well. It must have been so reassuring to see that little flutter. Wishing you a happy healthy rest of your pregnancy.

PallasCat · 06/09/2015 17:00

Got my booking appt through - next Saturday - I'll be 8 weeks exactly.

DH just left on a work trip until Tuesday. Feeling a bit angsty about being on my own at the moment (PG definitely not helping with anxiety!) so my DM is visiting to keep my company. Should be here by now and I'm getting worried about that, even though I know why there will be traffic problems on the way! Hmm

Meanwhile I'm exhausted and feeling rough - just like a hangover.

Toes what a weekend you've had! So glad to hear that all is well.

Rinnyx I've also been having back problems since before PG. Dreading how bad they'll get if they don't sort themselves out soon!

5madthings · 06/09/2015 18:38

toes that sounds so stressful. But Yay for a teeny heartbeat, hope everything goes smoothly from now on.

So I have graduated from constant nausea to full of vomming until I have nothing left to throw up and then just retch. It's horrid and I don't remember it being this bad in my previous pregnancies, but it is a good sign. I think my eldest son may have guessed that I am preg. It is getting harder to hide as I just feel so god dam ill. Am 9 wks now, my scan is two weeks tomorrow.

Re clothes mine are fine so far but in all my other pregnancies I have done the elastic band/hair bobble round top button trick with long tops and bump band. I gave away all maternity stuff so am going to have to get some, previously I had jeans from h&m but not much proper maternity stuff. I have a few pairs of yoga trousers good for slobbing at home and tunic style tops etc.

I think this stage is the most frustrating you feel tired, sick and generally rough, are paranoid and on knicker check yet outwardly not much to show.

Want2bSupermum · 06/09/2015 20:41

5madthings I was like that with DD. I told myself that if I am like that again I am taking the drugs.

Toesandfingers Great news after such a scare.

I have pregnancy hormones at full force. I get rather more determined than normal when I am pregnant and there is no stopping me. DH was umming and ahhhing over if we should go on holiday at Christmas or not and, if we were going to go, where should we go. We are in NYC so there is lots to do in December. Well I had enough of it on Friday night and book us for a week to the Turks and Caicos Islands. We are taking a direct flight from Newark which is only 4 hours and I found a self catering vacation rental one block from the beach in the prime tourist area. The owners daughter runs the childcare center at one of the local resorts and he said for $100 a day she could take our kids in with her. My Dad will be with us too so the 2 bedrooms is smaller than we would have liked but the price can't be beat. I love that we can prepare our own snacks as DD and DS are 4 and 2. Eating out gets so expensive and is very unhealthy. DH told my MIL yesterday morning and she was upset that they were not invited. Guess she thought my Dad was invited when that wasn't the way. My poor Dad was like 'What you are taking me with you. Ok what do I owe you and what nights do you want me to look after the kids? Lets go have fun!'

I am so excited to have a proper holiday. This summer I had 3 weeks in Denmark and it was miserable. My MIL was so controlling and I just felt rotten the whole time. Finally I get a proper break.

pingoose · 06/09/2015 21:41

All of you who have DC, I salute you! I have spent the whole weekend lying on the couch doing nothing. I can't imagine going through this with children around! The nausea has been getting worse, and I've gone off chocolate of all things, and surviving on fruit and crackers.

Want2bSupermum your holiday sounds fab! I'm very jealous.

toes glad you got to hear a heartbeat, you must be so relieved.

MazzleDazzle · 06/09/2015 23:04

Haha pingoose, thanks for the salute! Grin I have to DC (7&4, which sounds old enough to be fairly self-sufficient, but believe me they aren't!), 7 hens & 2 cockerels (I dread having to step foot in the garden as they literally rule the roost), 2 cats, 1 part time job (which comes with piles of paperwork) and a husband who is away working for well over a month!

The only respite I get is by convincing the kids to snuggle up and watch a movie. However, I get a sharp dig in the ribs when I nod off!

I am counting down the days until my DH is home...20 down, 17 to go!

Rinnyx · 07/09/2015 07:26

Wish me luck ladies, going to talk to work today tho might make out I've only just found out Blush

CarrotVan · 07/09/2015 08:52

I am finding early pregnancy whilst also wrangling a very lively 2 yo a lot more tiring than early pregnancy with said 2 yo

A full time job, dealing with my parents' care issues, dealing with DH's mental health issues and his working away schedule, wrangling the 2 yo, and dealing with the anxiety of early pregnancy after miscarriage is all rather exhausting

CarrotVan · 07/09/2015 08:56

How come you're telling them so early rinnyx?

Mummyofonesofar · 07/09/2015 12:34

Hello everyone!

I have had two weeks away, (feel like much longer though!). One week of busy work plus a week in Bulgaria (very relaxing and just what I needed - without wifi). Missed you all though!! I am now 9+4, had another scan of the twins at 8 weeks before I flew out and everything looked good and heartbeats strong. 2 weeks tomorrow until my next scan Grin

Hope everyone is well and not too sick with ms. I was sick on the plane - it was very embarrasing! But overall haven't been sick too many times Grin

Rinnyx · 07/09/2015 12:35

Carrot I went to the Drs Friday and she found the heartbeat so she thinks I'm already 12/13 weeks and I need to take Monday morning off got 1hr midwife app so I guess I best come clean (at home time)

CarrotVan · 07/09/2015 13:16

Mummy you're back! Glad you had another good scan. My next one is Friday with DH and DS coming with me

Ah! I forgot you'd been moved forward rinnyx.

MazzleDazzle · 07/09/2015 13:32

From experience carrot, being pregnant with a toddler is much harder work than having a baby and a toddler to look after. This is by far the worst bit! After the birth things will all fit into place. Grin

Congrats on your scan mummy!

Rinny when will you get a scan to confirm your dates?

8 + 1 now and still haven't had an appt with MW. I'm considering changing surgeries, though don't know if I'm allowed to pick and choose or if I'm stuck with the one in my catchment area.

Mummyofonesofar · 07/09/2015 14:14

CarrotV aww how lovely, as we were on the way to the airport I had DP and DS with me too, which was lovely (though DS couldn’t make it out). My 12w one DP won’t be coming to sadly but hoping to drag a friend along. Then DP can attend my downs one which is further away and he won’t get as lost. My hospital can’t screen twins for downs so being sent 86 miles away for a scan a couple days after they check the sizes!

Mazzle they will have catchments but they are usually quite big and you can pick and chose, either that or you can register with one near your work as a temporary patient and be seen there but it keeps you as a patient at your normal surgery for record keeping and any home visits.

Want2bSupermum · 07/09/2015 15:06

Carrot It is exhausting pregnant when you already have DC. I have DD4 and DS2. They were parked in front of the TV this morning while I snoozed. I was in bed for 9pm last night and 6am was just too early for me.

The worst part of this pregnancy is looking for houses. It was awful moving with 2DC who were both mobile and I am not ready to face the same ordeal again! Also, we know we are going to have to take on a huge construction project. DH is awful with contractors so it will be me checking on everything and telling them what I don't like.

mummyofonesofar Oh no! I threw up terribly when I was pregnant with DS and we were flying back from Denmark. The worst was the airline didn't have DD on the flight list so we were stuck at immigration for about an hour. The officer was lovely and gave me his chair. His supervisor came over, took one look at me and came back with a bottle of water, some paedialyte and we were told we could call my obn if we wanted to.

CarrotVan · 07/09/2015 15:20

Mazzle - the midwife clinic at my GP surgery is wholly inconvenient so I'm having booking in at the hospital and will try to have my antenatal appointments there. Sometimes the midwives do clinics at children's centre too ut when you do booking in they should advise you on the options

Rinnyx · 07/09/2015 16:26

I told work, she lol and said to give her a few days to see what HM says to do in this situation seeing as I've not been there long at all but also wished me congrats.
I said sorry and explained the situation, etc and she thanked me for telling her so soon.
And said just come in soon as I can after my app Monday.

I'm going to try get the midwife to push my scan ASAP but request an evening or weekend scan if they do them.....what a nightmare.
Don't help I had a child today keep hugging me very very tight round my tummy it hurt Hmm

Mummyofonesofar · 07/09/2015 20:45

Want2be that sounds awful! The stewardess was great, took me up to the loo so I could dispose of my sick bag, got me to the front of the loo queue and told everyone to use another one so I could take as long as I wanted. She also gave me a free 2 litre bottle of water in case I got dehydrated and a huge stack of sick bags which now live in my car Grin

woundbobbin · 07/09/2015 21:22

Can I have some of your sick bags mummyof1 I started vomming as I pulled onto the M4 doing 50MPH on the way home from work today no hard shoulder nothing I could do ended up covered in it it was foul. Dd burst into tears when I got in because I wouldn't cuddle her because I was covered in sick. Still 10weeks today hopefully only 2-3 more weeks of mega vom then I will be able to eat again HOORAY!

ToesAndFingersCrossed · 07/09/2015 23:38

Rinnyx sounds like work took it well, that must be a huge relief!

mummy I could use some of those sick bags too. My walk to work takes me past quite a few pubs, all closed, but there bottle bins are out on the pavement stinking of stale booze.

wound fingers crossed your vomming stops soon.

CarrotVan · 08/09/2015 07:47

That sounds awful wound.

I went to bed at 9pm last night and slept through DH watching stuff on Netflix in bed and engineering work on the train line at the end of the garden. I woke up just before my alarm went off at 6.30am feeling vaguely human.

I can't do that again until Friday as one of my sisters rang last night to see if she could stay a few days for a course she's doing locally. I bloody love sleep.

Only three more sleeps til my next scan

Feefee45 · 08/09/2015 09:52

Ladies you can get sick bags on amazon. My nephew gets terribly car sick so I have purchased them on a few occasions.

I'm 6+6 today with 6 more sleeps to my first scan. Just starting to feel nauseous today. Hope it doesn't get too bad and hope those of you who are suffering get some respite soon.

CarrotVan · 08/09/2015 10:07

8+1 here. Since I've seen a heartbeat apparently my MC risk is down to 1.5%

Feefee45 · 08/09/2015 10:22

Excellent newsCarrot

raspberrylemonade1 · 08/09/2015 10:22

Scan today. carrotvan are we the same person? Engineering works at bottom of garden sounds so familiar!!
