Oops ** only you and your OH half know and it's special to keep it a secret. Smile

Feeling really strained and tired now with a five mile walk to work every day. Any energy tips that don't have caffeine?

Want2bSupermum · 09/11/2015 21:02

crumbly My tip would be not to walk 5 miles every day! Seriously I am exhausted and it is for a good reason. I am making a baby and running around after the first two while working 40+ hours a week. My employer has been very understanding and already told IT off for not giving me a spare 2nd screen for me to use when working from home so I have less to carry.

Are you able to get a ride from someone while you are pregnant or take the car in a couple of times a week. Sometimes it is worth the extra cost.

Rinnyx · 09/11/2015 22:08

Thank you for those who commented about DS, he was back at school today (tho still on meds) and able to celebrate his 5th birthday feeling much better.

Even tho I have been told I have a anterior placenta with this one, today at 19+3 I decently felt movement tho it was either side of my bump only.
Latest out of all 3 I've felt movement but nice to finally feel this one too.

Counting down to the scan...10 days to go Grin

KnitsBakesAndReads · 09/11/2015 22:57

That sounds awful Mazzle, I hope your midwife is able to suggest something that might help a bit.

Brooke, I felt quite a few movements (or what I thought were movements) early on, then felt nothing for days and started to get worried. I've started feeling some movements again recently though. I've heard it's totally normal this early on not to feel movement at all, or to not feel it every day, so I'm sure it's nothing to worry about. Perhaps you could give your midwife a call if you're concerned though?

Crumbly, a five mile walk sounds tiring enough even when not pregnant! Is there any public transport you could use instead, or anyone who could give you a lift? I've found trying to eat healthily has helped my energy levels, as well as trying to get plenty of sleep (obvious, I know!). If you're feeling really tired it might be worth getting your iron levels checked as bring anaemic can really make you feel exhausted.

Rinnyx, glad your DS is on the mend. Hope he enjoyed his birthday too.

I've still got horrible back pain. I tried to make an appointment with my GP but they only had phone appointments so I had to make do with that. They've given me a prescription for painkillers (but haven't taken them yet as I'm totally paranoid about then affecting bump). I asked about physio and she said I can self-refer to them but apparently they might not treat pregnant women. Seemed a bit odd to me given that I thought pregnancy would be a common time to need physio! Oh well, hopefully I'll feel better after a good night's sleep.

crumblybiscuits · 10/11/2015 09:08

Unfortunately no one around to give lifts, I don't drive and my partner works away. I might have to look into getting the bus. I've been finding it fine but this week I'm just tired no matter how much sleep I get and really dreading the walk every day. They checked my iron not too long ago and said it was fine but maybe I will go back and ask again. On the plus side I have lost well over a stone now!

crumblybiscuits · 10/11/2015 14:01

Was offered my amniocentesis today, standard for a pregnancy after a baby with chromosomal abnormalities. Really not sure on what to do. Such a crap decision.

Want2bSupermum · 10/11/2015 15:58

I would insist on them doing the harmony test before doing an amnio.

crumblybiscuits · 10/11/2015 16:04

Want2b Unfortunately the Harmony doesn't detect everything, including the condition that my angel DD had. It's a microdeletion of a chromosome. My blood tests came back low risk but so did the tests with my DD. It's not really an advice answer and was a bit pointless posting here really, just got me a bit down that this is the reality of all of my pregnancies now Sad

Want2bSupermum · 10/11/2015 16:31

Flowers Crumbly. It is horrible when you know you need more detailed tests. I hope it goes well. Lots of hugs.

PallasCat · 10/11/2015 17:25

crumbly Flowers thinking of you hun.

poppy that's what we're planning to do as well... though wondering how long we'll keep up calling the bub 'it' if we do get to find out!

Want2bSupermum · 10/11/2015 22:19

So I've picked up something from the kids. Left the office at 12 and slept for 2 hrs on the sofa. I had a sandwich delivered and, let's just say I should have saved my money. DH should be home soon so I can go lie in bed.

RalucaMorena · 11/11/2015 11:30

I heard my baby's heart last week but for some reason I think I won't be able to relax until I feel it kicking. I am not really showing, sometimes if someone kisses my tummy I can feel an area getting a bit tough but not always. I can still sleep on 3/4 of my tummy. Next mw appointment is next wed when I'll be 16+6.
My anxiety probably comes from the fact that on the 15/11 last year I had a miscarriage.

Otherwise my breasts show plenty of blood vessels, I have some nausea and heartburn l , so I am trying to keep it positive.

PurplePoppy17 · 11/11/2015 12:33

I'm definitely showing now, but to be honest, from 9-15 weeks my belly changed shape so much from day to day, so one day I would show and others I didn't. It was very strange. My boobs have stopped being so sore and tender now. Which is a bonus as I was just in agony.
I usually sleep on my belly or my back so I'm really struggling to sleep at night as I'm just not comfortable in my side. I usually fall asleep on my side and end up waking up every hour or so on my back or my tummy. I'm really worried as I know it's not good good for baby. Does anyone have any tips on being able to sleep on their side and sleep through out the night? I'm 18 weeks today Smile

crumblybiscuits · 11/11/2015 13:59

Have you got a pregnancy pillow Purple? it has been a game changer for me! I wedge it in front and behind me so I can't roll over.

PurplePoppy17 · 11/11/2015 14:32

No but that sounds interesting?! Does it take up much of the bed? Where could I get one from, online? Thanks Smile

crumblybiscuits · 11/11/2015 15:04

TK Maxx I got mine from with a supportive wedge too put under my hip. Amazon sell them too, pretty much everywhere. So much comfort. Mine is just a v shaped one but you can get all kinds of shapes.

brookeberry · 11/11/2015 15:53

Thanks knits I'm having a not-worrying couple of days now (it's such a roller-coaster)! My tummy seems to have popped out a little and there is more of an obvious bump just under the belly button. And I'm getting a lot of those sharpish ligament pains. I've also thrown up the last three mornings - when is that supposed to stop (although I think I secretly like it!). I'm 17 + 5. It's a long count down now to the 20 week scan. I find scans slightly addictive - scary, but I really want to see my little one. Smile

I'm starting to feel a bit cumbersome in bed. The pregnancy pillow sounds great.

Rinnyx · 11/11/2015 16:02

My MIL made me one.
She got a couple of pillows and sewed them together and then made a long pillow case to hold them in. I love it xx

PurplePoppy17 · 11/11/2015 16:36

-Thanks for that, I'll have a look online tonight, I'll definitely need something to settle me through the night.

-I find scans addictive too, that's why I keep getting some private ones along with NHS ones. it's so reassuring seeing the little one wriggling about in there. It's good for my OH too as its a chance for him to see it and he didn't get to feel all the niggles that much. Smile

FatimaLovesBread · 11/11/2015 19:37

20 week scan done, all fine and growing well. Then had a 1.5hour wait for the clinic appointment after Angry

Want2bSupermum · 11/11/2015 21:36

purple I've tried different pillows and found what worked best was sleeping on my side with a pillow between my knees and a smaller pillow (from our sofa!) under my hip. I also have a dog that is very clingy when I am pregnant. When it cools down he will be my belly support. Well I hope he will! He has been for my previous two pregnancies.

MazzleDazzle · 11/11/2015 23:08

Lovely scan pic Fatima!

I currently sleep with a pillow between my knees/ankles. I used to have a huge Z shaped one, but I think I gave it away.

Yet another embarrassing symptom here. Was at the Dr's today and she diagnosed molloscum. The blisters have only started in the last 6 weeks. They are in my groin area and on my bottom. The Dr says they could take up to 18 months to clear! Apparently they are most common in children, but they can affect those with a lower immune system, including pregnant women. Clearly, whoever said they are harmless and painless has never had them! Between the blisters and the veins, my crotch has never looked so unappealing. Blush

KnitsBakesAndReads · 12/11/2015 16:05

Hope you're doing okay crumbly, that must be such a difficult decision for you. Flowers

Glad you're feeling a bit less worried now brooke, it's funny how we almost seem to enjoy feeling a bit rubbish with pregnancy symptoms as it feels nicely reassuring.

Raluca, hope you're feeling better now. I think it's normal not to show at 15 weeks so I'm sure there's no reason to worry. Think I looked a little 'rounder' than normal then but definitely not actually showing.

That's a lovely scan photo Fatima. Making me very excited for our 20 week scan next week.

I'm thinking about getting one of those pregnancy pillows too. Hoping it might help with back pain. Has anyone tried the Dream Genii pillow? It's a bit pricey but seems to get really good reviews.

RalucaMorena · 12/11/2015 19:54

Hi again,
Anyone else has pressure in the back passage? Should I worry? Sorry for tmi but I have been to the potty and still have it. It is not constant but it makes me worry, especially during these days. Could it be linked to the pulling feeling I have in my vagina? Aaaaarghh! Why can't I enjoy pregnancy?

On the upside my tummy has a different shape.
