Sending love, Flowers and Cake and Wine to MsTea and FeeFee.

A client asked me if I was pregnant today (I am 11 + 5) as I already have a little bump. Scan not til next week so I am not out in the open yet, will have to find baggy outfits for the next week...!

woundbobbin · 15/09/2015 18:34

Cherrypie5 · 15/09/2015 19:06

Feefee and Mrstea I am so sorry to hear your news. Be kind to yourself and take it easy for a while. I hope you have lots of support in rl, if not the miscarriage association I found helpful when it happened to me, they can give support and provide lots of info x

AmpleRaspberries · 15/09/2015 20:07

feefee and mrstea so sorry. It's such a rubbish time. Flowers for you both.

I had 2 mc and 1 missed mc before dd, tests showed no reason so the consultant put it down to bad luck. However, he did advise me to take 75mg asprin in any subsequent pregnancy. I did with dd and I am this time. I'm not suggesting it's a miracle cure, but it seems to have worked for me.

I am 8+6 today. The furthest I got before dd was 9 weeks, so I'll be glad when this week is over. I know it doesn't mean anything, but I'll feel better nonetheless.

Dr has prescribed me anti sickness tablets, but only a few days worth as she wants to keep tabs on me to check I'm not getting dehydrated. Work are being great, arranging a laptop so I can work from home when I need to. Just want my scan date now.

crumblybiscuits · 15/09/2015 20:45

So sorry mrstea, thinking of you. Flowers

Does anyone know the science behind what aspirin does? My consultant is suggesting it for me to take due to IUGR babies. Seems like it does a few things a lot of good!

AmpleRaspberries · 15/09/2015 21:21

I'm not sure crumbly I always assumed it was to do with the thickness of blood, as in the aspirin thins the blood meaning more gets to the baby, but I have nothing to back that up, it's just an assumption.

Dexlie0806 · 15/09/2015 21:45

Mrstea im so so sorry to hear your news. Look after yourself Flowers

brookeberry · 15/09/2015 22:47

Crumbly, Ample is right - one possible cause of miscarriage (but they can't be sure) is 'sticky blood'. 75mg aspirin can help with this. I got a test for this after 3 mcs in a row but didn't have it, so I was put on progesterone pessaries instead (they have found low progesterone present after mc, but again, they aren't sure if it's a result or a cause, but no harm trying). This is my 4th pregnancy now and so far so good, but it's nerve-wracking thing for so many of us. . . . good luck everybody!! xx

brookeberry · 15/09/2015 23:12

PS I hope it's okay to join you all! I'm 9 + 5 and have never made it this far before . . . . .

Rinnyx · 16/09/2015 07:13

Sorry to read of such sad news, hugs to you all xx

mstea I am so sorry, there's nothing that can really be said to provide much comfort but please look after yourself.

Welcome brooke glad things are going well so far this time.

Mummyofonesofar · 16/09/2015 11:46

tappity I have had people ask already too. Scan on Tuesday but have a big conference tomorrow and everyone will notice without a doubt, I have a rather round bump! Still hiding at home so the gossipers don??t see.

Welcome brooke and congrats on reaching your furthest date yet!

I am 11w tomorrow ?? all getting very real, especially as I am carrying twins I plan to give up work in about 20 weeks from now! Just 4.5 months!

FussyHendricks · 16/09/2015 12:46

Good news from my 12w scan. All looked fine and they have dated me at 12+3 Smile
