Joining from the relaxed TTC-ers. Hoping to see everyone here soon Grin

My stats:
Age 36
DS 29 months old, still bf once a day at bedtime.
Currently 7 weeks pregnant.
History: had a mc at 9 weeks prior to DS - also had bleeding while pg with him but all was well.

Been feeling constantly ill for a week now! Last time I ate to feel better but it doesn't make any difference this time. Only actually been sick twice though. Had to fess up to the parents/PILs already as so off colour. Started taking spatone sachets today to try and increase my energy levels. Looking forward to speaking with a midwife to see what else I can do, if anything.

Hey everyone can't believe I'm on the grads board so soon such a shock although we were trying never expected it to happen the first month! I'm beginning to get my head round it now. I rang the doctors yesterday and they have no appointments till Next Monday!! Do any of you have any idea how I can get seen quicker do they deal with pregnancy at walk in clinics?

How is everyone else doing? Hope you are all ok and morning sickness isn't making you feel too bad .I've been feeling a bit sick and boobs are killing but part from that don't feel any different.

Reebok · 02/09/2015 12:55

Finally been to the doctor. Was surprisingly nice and apologetic about my mc. Said to take it easy, rest lots, no heavy lifting. Won't do early scan despite the discharge. Said its nothing to worry about. Erm yeh nothing for him to worry about!
Got the awful metal mouth taste in my mouth....had it when I had my daughter so hoping it's a good sign. How's everyone else doing?

Reebok · 02/09/2015 13:01

Cross post! Congrats dark pandora! Lovely to have you on the thread! No idea re being seen quickly.

darkpandora · 02/09/2015 13:07

Hey reebok glad you finally went to the doctor and they were nice ???? how many weeks are you now?

I have never had a mc before but I'm finding myself being on knicker watch all the time I'm terrified is that normal? I'm so anxious about losing my baby that I'm finding it hard to be excited have any of you got any tips on how to relax a little?

Reebok · 02/09/2015 13:19

I think I should be over 6 weeks but that's a rough estimate. I'm probably the worst person to ask. I've been pregnant 4 times now (mc twice, one healthy daughter) and all 4 times I knicker watch and worry like mad. Given my history that's probably what has caused it. Suppose there's not a lot we can do. We can't stop a mc so somehow we have to try to relax and let whatever happens happen.

Finding eating grapes is helping my nausea today especially as I can't keep down water. Here's hoping it stays down!

lostindubai · 02/09/2015 17:49

Hi Pandora, welcome to the grads thread Grin

I wouldn't worry about getting seen urgently by a doctor. There's a lot of months of pregnancy ahead and they won't be in a hurry even if you are. I saw a doctor over two weeks ago and I still haven't had a booking in appt with the midwife. If you need advice beforehand then my advice is to buy a good pregnancy book (I have What to Expect While You're Expecting). Or ask on here of course!

What Reebok said about mc is true. There's nothing can be done, if it's to be then nature will take its course. So best thing to do is try not to think about it as much as possible. Although I'll be a lot happier once I get past the 9 week mark (which is when my previous mc happened).

Reebok how are you feeling now? Did you get any meds to help with the nausea?

Reebok · 02/09/2015 18:20

Think we all have those deadlines dubai. Mine is this weekend...7 weeks. Feeling like death. Cannot stomach much and if I'm not being sick, it's constant nausea. Been given Meds...same ones I had when I was sick with dd but they knock me out and make it impossible to do anything....so can't take them with dd to look after and work. Worse this time. Last time I was signed off work for ages and just lay in bed/over a bowl puking (sorry!) but can't do that with another child to look after. Sorry for the moan. How are you getting on?

InFrance2014 · 03/09/2015 11:43

Hi all,

Pandora congratulations!

I have my 'deadline' today- first trip to see dr, last time I miscarried 2 days before appointment at 8 weeks. So this time I am nervous but hopeful. Really hope I get to see/hear heartbeat.

Sending settled stomach wishes to everyone and solidarity for getting past the deadlines.

InFrance2014 · 03/09/2015 16:11

No scan today but a thorough check done (you have to strip off totally in France!) and no problems reported by doctor.
Got an early scan booked for 14th Sept, and official 12 week scan on 2nd October.
Still doesn't feel real yet!

darkpandora · 04/09/2015 18:56

Hello everyone hope you are all doing ok.

I need some advice I've got a doctors appointment booked Monday to confirm pregnancy ( quickest appointment) they had. But I'm freaking out I had some discharge today and it was a sort of green colour I'm really scared but can't see a doctor till Monday what shall I do?

in france so glad to hear everything is ok and no problems were detected that's fantastic news 14th isn't too long away tho I know it's will feel like ages Smile

reekbok hope you feel better soon these early days are not easy are they!

Reebok · 04/09/2015 19:06

Good luck for the scan infrance.

Check with gp pandora. Could mean infection. Fx it's nothing!

I feel like death. I can't take it. Either I'm being sick or I feel it. Kids are back in school on Monday. Don't know I'm going to teach them. I'm on Meds which helps a little but it makes me drowsy. I just want to cry. My LO is wonderful. Every time I throw up, she hugs me and strokes my hair lovingly saying it's ok mama. She only turned two last month. Don't know how she has understood sickness so quickly. Even says mama sick. I here.

InFrance2014 · 05/09/2015 18:57

Thank you for the kind wishes. The time will go fast I think, as I'm away all next week at a conference (in Spain! No boozing on the town with colleagues, but I will enjoy the tapas for sure).

Dark pandora hope you are ok and it turned out to be nothing. Can you call NHS direct (or whatever its called now) if you are still worried?

Reebok sending sympathy Brew, my mild sickness is bad enough, but yours sounds really nasty. Take it easy on monday if you can, I imagine the kids at school will be happy not to have to pay too much attention in first few days back if you need to have slow lessons (although I'm aware that teaching these days allows very little room for flexibility in lesson plans etc). LO sounds adorable- I can't wait until mine starts to talk to me Smile

lostindubai · 07/09/2015 07:15

Hi all sorry not been around lately. Tbh been feeling too ill for too much screen time. It's rubbish.

Hope your appt goes ok today Pandora, please let us know.

Good luck for your first day with the kids Reebok. Will be thinking of you!

Enjoy that tapas InFrance. Yum!

Hey everyone sorry not been on much.

I went to the doctors today had everything confirmed at last they didn't seem concerned but they gave me some antibiotics for a uti and also some cream for thrush (tmi) both really common in early pregnancy lucky me!Hmm

Hope you are all doing ok and aren't feeling too rough. Flowers

Sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well Dubai how far along are you now?

Enjoy your tapas infrance I went to a tapas restaurant once years ago it was amazing

How are you doing today reebok?

lostindubai · 07/09/2015 20:11

I'm 9 weeks now Pandora. Having a really horrid evening I've been useless with ds, my poor dp has had to do pretty much everything. Some days are definitely worse than others.

Glad you had a productive appt today. How are you feeling, any better?

OP posts:
Reebok · 07/09/2015 20:52

Hi all

Glad docs went well pandora.

Sorry to hear you're feeling rough Dubai.

Work was so hard. I kept having to run to the loos to throw up. Today I think I've thrown up 12 times. Over the weekend was 15. I'm on medication but it's not helping. Can't drink water as its gross and I can't keep it down even if I sip it. The only way I can get fluids are through ice lollies. Can't eat. Think hyperemesis has set in. Not going work. Going to the hospital as I'm recognizing the signs of dehydration that I had with dd so need fluids desperately. Have to go tomorrow though as no one to look after her. Think I may have to get signed off from work. I can't cope. I've been in tears because I'm so thirsty but can't drink. Sorry for the rant. Just feeling awful.

lostindubai · 08/09/2015 06:37

Oh Reebok how awful Sad I can't imagine what that must be like. Yes, sounds like you need intervention ASAP. My sickness is a walk in the park compared to what you're going through my love.

I think there is a hg support thread on here somewhere, maybe on the pregnancy board. Might be useful for you?

I've been going to bed as early as possible, getting lots of sleep and rest, as I can't feel ill while I'm asleep! Means I don't get much of an evening but it's a price I'm willing to pay for this (hopefully) short while.

Are you sleeping ok Reebok? Hope so. Let us know how you get on at the hospital x

OP posts:
Bluepigoon · 08/09/2015 08:27

That sounds awful Reebok, I hope the hospital are able to help.

I hit the 6 week mark yesterday and still no symptoms other than being a bit tired and emotional. I moved city 6 months ago and haven't registered with a gp yet, so that's pretty much at the top of my list of things to do this week.

Reebok · 09/09/2015 08:28

Hi guys, thanks for your support.

The hyperemesis has set in. Luckily not as bad as some women have it. I'm in hospital and dying to go home. Been in since yesterday. Was badly dehydrated so had to be put on fluids and vitamins. Also been put on a stronger drug used to treat chemo patients for vomiting and nausea. Helps through iv but not as well through tablet form. Will be going home today.

My boss has been bugging me since yesterday wanting to know what this means long term. Got a few voicemails. Not one asks how are you doing? Annoys me as she put me in class knowing I was pregnant in July however was clearly counting on me mc. She knows my hg history so had that pregnancy worked out, I would still be sick now! Have decided not to return to work for a while. There's no way I can teach in this state. I can't even look after dd or myself!

Anyway hope you are doing ok.

lostindubai · 10/09/2015 08:19

Reebok I'm so glad to hear you've got some help to feel better. Ignore work and your boss! They need to let you be for now. Are you home now?

OP posts:
darkpandora · 10/09/2015 17:40

Hey everyone sorry haven't been posting much still waiting for my first ante natal appointment to come through and it's hard trying to be patient.

How are you all doing?

Reebok are you home now? Hope you begin to feel a little better just make sure you get as much rest as you need Flowers

applecatchers36 · 10/09/2015 19:30

Hi guys, sorry to hear so many of us are suffering with the dreaded morning sickness & really sorry to hear about the hyperemesis Reebok, hope the stronger drug/ anti emetics are working, have heard the chemo one is a good one.
Like a lot of you haven't posted much lately as been feeling sick & exhausted. It's tough when you have a lively toddler, just trying to take one day at a time.
Have the booking appt in a couple of weeks, still waiting for the scan to come through.
Sending sympathy (for the sickness) & solidarity with you all.

InFrance2014 · 11/09/2015 09:54

Hello all,
writing from hotel bed at the conference- struggled with nasty nausea for past two days, barely eaten, feel so rough, and now have stomach bug too Sad

But its nothing to poor Reebok - hope you are recovering. Your boss sounds extremely unsympathetic, can you get support from union rep?

Pandora and Apple, hoping your first appointments come soon- although it still might not feel "real" until the scan. Confused

darkpandora · 11/09/2015 14:45

I finally got my letter about my first scan its on 19th October it said that I will be there for 2-3 hours! Where I live they do it all together in one appointment so I will do run through of family medical history, blood tests and then the first scan. Will be a long morning. Just got to make it through and try to keep sane till then Smile

Hope the rest of you are coping with the nasty sickness!

And reebok I really hope you are ok Flowers

lostindubai · 12/09/2015 06:42

One word is dominating my life at the moment. Constipation Sad It's so painful the cramps have had me cry out already this morning. I'm still waiting for my booking in appt.

This part of pregnancy is miserable!

Hope you're all doing ok.
