Joining from the relaxed TTC-ers. Hoping to see everyone here soon Grin

My stats:
Age 36
DS 29 months old, still bf once a day at bedtime.
Currently 7 weeks pregnant.
History: had a mc at 9 weeks prior to DS - also had bleeding while pg with him but all was well.

Been feeling constantly ill for a week now! Last time I ate to feel better but it doesn't make any difference this time. Only actually been sick twice though. Had to fess up to the parents/PILs already as so off colour. Started taking spatone sachets today to try and increase my energy levels. Looking forward to speaking with a midwife to see what else I can do, if anything.

So nice that everyone is getting towards the milestones of appointments, scans and nausea abatement (although praying for Reebok that it comes ASAP!). It's starting to feel less arduous now for me too thank goodness. Will be 15 weeks on Friday.

I laughed at you swooning over other people's newborns apple, I took DD for her last toddler vaccinations the other day, and there was a woman in the doctor's reception with a very new baby, I literally almost started blubbing when I heard that unmistakable newborn hungry cry. The power of hormones! Shock
I always look back at videos I took of DD when she was ultra-newborn and I can't quite believe I will have such a mysterious, magical creature again!

I see apple is going to do antenatal classes for 2nd baby, not sure I'll bother as the ones here were pretty basic and I wasn't too impressed first time round. But even though I'm not fussed about refreshing labour info, really feel like I could do with some tips for preparing for having a newborn + toddler (although stay at home dad will make things much easier for me obviously!). I will be interested to hear what the NCT offers for refresher classes when the time comes.
On the other hand there's definitely some things about the first birth and early days I would definitely like to do differently too...

Bluepigoon · 22/10/2015 06:54

Hi all,

Glad to hear scans and appointments have been going well. I had my 12 week scan yesterday and the baby wouldn't stop jumping up and down :) we've told all of our family now, which is a huge relief and it's really nice to see how excited everyone is.

Also got our house sorted, hooray! We arranged a week's extension on our rented house, but the completion date kept being pushed back so I emailed the estate agent saying the stress of being left without anywhere to live was getting a bit much, so we were considering taking out a new tenancy agreement, which tend to have a minimum 6 month contract, so we'd need to delay by quite a lot. I got a phone call a few hours later saying we could complete this week, so we're moving in at the weekend, hooray! Glad that gamble paid off, I didn't fancy moving in 6 moths time!

Reebok · 22/10/2015 16:24

Great news blue! And congrats on the scan.

Glad to hear some of you are feeling a little better.

I'm having bad and some slightly better days...still hoping sickness will clear by 16 weeks so I can have my life back! Had my scan today...baby is thriving....doing summersaults...makes the sickness a little easier to handle. Also...the spot I've been feeling flutters is where baby is so sonographer said it's likely I'm feeling baby...particularly as its my second. Feels more real now. 12 weeks 6 days today.

beckslovestimmy · 23/10/2015 09:06

Can I join in! Got my BFP one week ago so nearly 5 weeks pregnant. I'm 31 yrs old and have 1DD who's nearly 3. Only symptoms so far is sore boobs and tiredness. Everyday I'm waiting for the horrendous nausea and vomiting I had first time around!!

lostindubai · 23/10/2015 20:31

Hi Becks of course you can join us, the more the merrier Smile congrats on your bfp! I hope the sickness isn't too bad for you this time. Unfortunately it has been a lot worse for me second time around!! Maybe it'll be the opposite for you

I'm starting to feel a bit more like 'normal' which is a huge relief. Have been suffering headaches in the last five days though so still suffering a bit! Had my 16 week midwife check yesterday and heard baby's heartbeat for the first time which was lovely. Ds came along and heard it too. We also heard kicking but I still can't feel anything. Hoping it won't be too long now.

Blue I'm so pleased you got your moving sorted out. Good luck for the weekend! Pleased to hear the scan was all ok too.

Oh Reebok it sounds like there might be a light at the end of the tunnel at last! Great news about your scan too, all these babies seem very active!

I've put myself down for hypnobirthing classes early next year which are now offered free here. Last time I was pregnant it was available but mega expensive so I didn't do it. I did pregnancy yoga instead, which was brilliant but I'd like to give this a go this time.

Is anyone else planning on pregnancy classes of any kind (other than antenatal ones)?

I haven't had the luck to see or hear any newborns recently! One of my friends had a baby a few weeks ago but I'm still waiting for an invitation... Envy

Hi all, hope everyone is doing okay. Looks like the good days were short lived and I am regressing with the hyperemesis again. Back to being unable to keep anything down and laying in bed all the time. Feel like I'm dying. 13 weeks....shoot me pls! Sorry for the me post. Just need to rant. Hope all is ok with you all. X

lostindubai · 25/10/2015 20:23

Oh that's rotten I'm sorry to hear it Reebok, sending hugs and wishing you better very soon!

I feel like I've had a relapse too this evening. Nausea is back after nearly a week of feeling relatively normal (although still not enjoying food). Last time I was sick was a week ago and I was hoping that was the end of it, but maybe not after all.

Nothing like the scale that you're dealing with though Reebok. I shouldn't grumble really. Just wish we all felt better!!

Hey everyone how all my fellow mummies to be doing?

Sorry to hear you have started feeling bad again reebok Sad I really really hope you feel better soon. Thinking of you x

It's amazing hearing about everyone's scans and appointments Dubai you are right we all seem to have very active babies maybe that's why we are all being so sick!

I really want to do pregnancy yoga but can't find any classes near where I live which is annoying will have to ask my midwife about it.

Are you guys finding out the babys's sex or leaving it as a suprise? I'm deffo finding out only 8 weeks till I can hopefully know.

Rocksiebaby · 26/10/2015 21:09

Hi hope you don't mind if I join in your thread. I'm new to all this. Never really been one for posting on forums. This is my first pregnancy and its come as a bit of a shock if I'm honest. Grief and not thinking clearly are a bad combination but I'm excited to have something special to focus on.

My stats:
Age 28
Currently 11 weeks pregnant.
So far hardly any morning sickness or nausea except around certain smells. I love vanilla but lately it makes me sick as a dog.

My OH doesn't seem to be very interested or as excited as I am. Has anyone else experienced this? Did your partners go with you to your scan? My first scan is next week and I'm a bit nervous.

applecatchers36 · 26/10/2015 21:31

welcome Rockie and congratulations on your pregnancy.

Most of us have been suffering with bad morning sickness, so you are lucky if you escape it! Am finally feeling a bit better now, at 15 weeks, 16 on Thursday. Feels like waking out of a fog. Sorry to hear of the relapses guys and hoping we all turn that corner soon.

As starting to feel a bit more human again, have actually had first thoughts of doing antenatal yoga. Couldn't contemplate it before but I enjoyed it a lot in my last pregnancy so would like to get back to it. Prob same class, same teacher as was really impressed with her.

Yes DP came to this last scan and DD's 3 scans. It's a lovley thing to do together, when it hits you there is actually a baby in there. We even took DD to last scan as we are trying to include her/ explain what is going on.

Dark last time we did find out sex but this time think we might not & have a surprise will prob be last pregnancy so am hoping it will make it extra exciting at the end ( was overdue last time & found last few weeks awful!)

beckslovestimmy · 27/10/2015 08:17

Hi Rocksie my DH seemed to 'warm' up a bit as things progressed with our first baby. This time he's much the same. I think once they see the scan and actually see a baby in there it becomes a bit more real. Lucky you with no morning sickness. Mine was horrendous first time around so I'm waiting for it to kick in this time. Only 5 weeks so there's still plenty of time!!

darkpandora · 27/10/2015 17:06

Hey Rocksie welcome to the thread lovely to have you join us congrats on your pregnancy I wish you a happy and healthy nine months Smile

I wrote a very similar post about my OH in my early weeks he seemed very disinterested and even told me to stop speaking about it all the time. I was heartbroken thinking he didn't care and felt very alone. He came to the scan and he was so excited and he asked questions and was smiling and now I have a little bump forming it's very different. I spoke to him about it and he said it's really hard for men as its all happening to us they can't see or feel anything so to them it's hard for it to feel like it is real. He will be totally different once there are ways for him to feel involved and he sees baby on the screen don't worry Smile

Hope everyone is ok Smile

lostindubai · 28/10/2015 06:30

Hi Rocksie welcome to the thread and congratulations! Agree with the others, men do approach this pregnancy thing a lot differently than we do. If there is other big stuff going on in life (like moving house in our case) then they're even more likely to be distracted. I suppose it's natural really, but you can get him involved by going to the scans together, and getting him to rub oil into your growing belly! Dp came to the 16 week midwife appt with me too, to hear baby's heartbeat for the first time.

Pandora I hope you can find someone doing yoga near you! I found mine through Google rather than the midwife so make sure you have a look around yourself. There are also things like aquabump (I found at my local leisure centre) which I enjoyed but the water was a bit too cool so I opted for the yoga instead Wink

Nope not finding out the sex until baby's here, didn't last time either. I like surprises though!

Feeling slightly better I think, although evenings are still worse. I'm going to a ball this weekend so I hope I'll have enough energy for it! Confused

DeccaMitford · 28/10/2015 09:11

Hello everyone,

I've been feeling rotten the last week with ms and a cold and this was topped off yesterday by finding out I have a dvt so will have to give myself daily clexane injections for the next 36 weeks!

I had a dvt years ago after an accident to my foot but had no problems in my first pregnancy so thought that had just been a fluke. But to have got one in pregnancy this time suggests I am succeptable to them, which will make me high risk this time around. Serves me right for spending Sunday in bed immobile Sad

I'm sure I'll get used to it but I hated having to do the injections last time so I'll need to find a better knack for it, and at the moment I feel so sick it seems hard to face, but hopefully once the nausea eases (if?!) then one little injection a day won't seem so bad.

Nice to see some new names on the thread, welcome everyone! Sorry if we seem a bit sickly and doom and gloomy at the moment, I'm sure we'll all cheer up once we're well into tri 2 Grin

Rocksiebaby · 30/10/2015 00:06

Thank you for the welcome messages. I feel at home with you all already. I am so nervous about my scan. It's booked for Thursday next week and OH still seems reluctant to come along. He hasn't said he won't be hasn't said he will either. Maybe it's just nerves. At least I hope so. I am also a bit stressed about telling friends and family.

I am so sorry you are all having such a terrible time with morning sickness. Hopefully it will ease off soon. I've never been very good at Yoga so don't think I'll attempt it but I love hiking and I so hope I can continue with that.

Wondering if any of you are taking or planning to take photos of your bumps as they grow? I have a few friends that have done it and I always enjoyed watching their bumps grow. I might consider it at some point.

lostindubai · 02/11/2015 20:39

Oh poor you Decca that's rotten luck. You've had a lot going on just lately, more than your fair share! How's the nausea now?

I was feeling great for the last few days, stayed out till after midnight at the ball on Saturday (yes, even dancing!) But I think the late night has pushed me back a bit as today I've felt rubbish again. The nausea's back and I'm not enjoying my food chain. Going to see a friend tomorrow night so hope I'll be a bit better then.

Rocksie I was rubbish at yoga too but pregnancy yoga is much easier and very gentle, and an opportunity to learn some good breathing techniques for labour. Maybe try a taster session if you do fancy it, rather than commit to a whole course. Hiking sounds great too. Wish I was more active outdoors. We're moving from the town to a village soon so hopefully I'll be more inclined to get out into the countryside!

I did get dp to take a few photos of my bump last time, but things like that are way harder with a toddler in the house!! Maybe we'll get around to it though.

How's everyone doing?

InFrance2014 · 04/11/2015 15:01

Welcome Becks and Rocksie!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you Reebok, you're nearly at the same point you started to feel better last time.
Sorry to hear about the DVT Decca that sounds stressful and a big painful hassle. I am expecting to be told to have injections when I'll fly to Canada at 25 weeks next year, but that's nothing to having to do them every day Sad

I've had on average better days physically recently, only a few times felt sick. Been having odd days where I am totally wasted from tiredness, with palpitations, but its not all the time, and cycling into work today was actually a breeze!

But- here's some cheerful news - I've felt the baby kick!! Have been feeling wrigglings inside for quite a few weeks, but yesterday evening thought I felt a little nudge, and then this morning, there were two definite little prods that came through my tummy where I was resting me hand Grin
Feeling like it's real now... And can't wait for them to get more regular/stronger, then DH can share in it again.

Bump is ridiculously large already, checked my photos from last time (taken almost weekly Blush ), and look about the same size now (16.5 weeks) as I did at 23/25!

Wishing everyone settled tums etc

InFrance2014 · 04/11/2015 15:03

oops, I meant I'll be flying at 32 weeks, not 25...

darkpandora · 04/11/2015 18:52

Hey everyone Smile hope you are all doing ok.

Sorry to hear about the DVT Decca that really sucks Sad

How things going for you reebok? I've been keeping my fingers crossed for you hope you feel better soon

Dubai how's the sickness hope it only came back briefly and didn't last.

becks and rocksie how are you both doing?

infrance that's amazing!! Aww baby kicking I bet it's soo exciting!! I can't wait to feel that but I know as its my first baby it will be a while till I do.

I'm sure I have missed lots of people i've got a brain like a sieve! So I hope everyone else is doing ok Smile

In my news I am 15 weeks Saturday yay! And nausea and sickness is soo much better I still feel ill when I first wake up and if I get stressed or hungry but other than that I have been ok. I have my 16 week midwife appointment soon to discuss the blood tests taken at my first appointment. I was wondering if they would check baby's heartbeat I'm a bit anxious and the 20 week scan seems ages away to know baby is doing ok. I've got a tiny baby bump now so have been getting OH to take pictures as I'm currently making a pregnancy scrapbook so gonna put the pics in there each week Smile. Have just been for my flu jab which sucks (hate injections) but at least it's done now.

beckslovestimmy · 04/11/2015 19:45

Hi ladies I've been feeling awful only just avoided a hospital admission I've been vomiting, not keeping even water down and had stopped peeing! GP gave me prochlorperazine tabs and they've taken the edge off a bit I haven't actually vomited today and have managed to eat and drink a bit. It's awful and I definitely don't remember it being this bad last time. Still feeling really tired. Back to work on nights at the weekend if I'm up to it. Still trying to not tell anyone. Only 6+4 today!!!

lostindubai · 04/11/2015 20:52

InFrance how absolutely lovely to have felt a kick! I think I've been getting the wrigglings you mention, but nothing concrete really. I've been eating too much and putting on too much padding clearly Grin

Pandora I feel back to normal again thanks. Just a minor setback. Went to a friend's for dinner last night and ate a proper meal, meat and two veg which went down really well. I've had a really simple diet lately (soup, pasta and sauce or beans on toast for dinner!) so will be nice to start eating proper food again. Glad you're feeling better. Yes they should listen for a heartbeat at the 16 week check. I agree it's an anxious time, long gaps between check ups and no kicks to feel for either. Your scrap book idea is lovely.

Becks I'm so sorry to hear you're suffering so much. Is it hyperemesis? I'm sure our friend Reebok can offer advice on this if you need it as she's a sufferer too. Reebok I hope you're ok honey.

Just looked back through the thread for the first time and realised we've lost a couple of grads - AnnaC who was suffering with her wisdom tooth, poor thing I hope she's ok. Also haven't heard from Notro for a while so hope all is ok with her too. Come back and let us know if you can ladies!

Hope everyone else is doing ok x

OP posts:
InFrance2014 · 05/11/2015 09:29

I felt the first kick at 18 weeks last time (ha ha literally just felt one as I typed this!!) so it's only a couple of weeks earlier this time. They are very much like little prods rather than being 'booted' at this early stage!
Dubai glad you are able to eat a hearty meal, it makes such a difference doesn't it. I've been off fish for weeks, really want to start eating the oily ones again for the omega3 benefits.
Becks hoping you might just have a temporary case and it gets better soon.
Pandora thanks for reminder about flu jab, I need it too. And for everyone, remember the whooping cough vaccination too if it's your first time Smile

darkpandora · 06/11/2015 15:49

Hey everyone I've just seen Pregnacare LIQUID!! Advertised. as someone who can't take tablets and has been stressing about this since I got pregnant I'm very excited. Was wondering if anyone had tried this and got bad side effects or not?

lostindubai · 07/11/2015 07:08

I'll be honest and admit that I'm not taking any vitamins at all at the moment. I stopped taking folic acid at 14 weeks and haven't started anything else. Meant to ask the midwife but forgot and she didn't say anything. I guess I'm feeling ok so it's not really necessary. I do have spatone sachets and Pregaday tablets in the cupboard but I'm terrified of more constipation so I'm leaving them well alone. If anyone wants them I'll happily post them out if you PM me Smile

Interesting what you said about the whooping cough vaccine InFrance. Do you only need it in your first pregnancy? I had it first time around but hadn't thought about it this time. Had my flu jab though. It worked a treat last time, wish I could have it every year!

OP posts:
Rocksiebaby · 07/11/2015 13:53

Had my scan Thursday. OH attended. It wasn't that he wasn't excited or interested in baby but that he was petrified because of my families history with bad pregnancies. I just wish he'd said something sooner to save me from worrying so much! I'll have to come in more frequently than most for checks but so far all is fine. Scan went really well Smile it was so clear and hearing baby's heartbeat was so amazing. Had a small shock though. I'm further along than I thought! Almost 15 weeks already Shock I'm due beginning of May. I had wondered why I was showing already. A bit confused with it all though Confused

We've only told my mother so far and she is over the moon. OH is working on an announcement and I think it's only fair I let him so he can feel more a part of it all. It makes me so emotional thinking about it all. Sorry if I'm over sharing.

Hope that you are all feeling better now. Has anyone had any cravings? My sex drive has been through the roof lately but my only craving has been chocolate which I usually don't eat.

Pandora it might be a good idea to discuss the vitamins with your midwife? It's always better to get your vitamins from a healthy diet. I've always believed that and followed that most of my life. Vitamin supplements are important if you are deficient in anything. I struggle to swallow tablets so I know how you feel. I have some medication that only comes in tablet form and it takes me ages to take them all.

We're going away for a few days. Take care and hope everyone is OK Flowers
