Oh wow, 901 messages. New thread time soon. Just in time for 2nd trimester (for us stragglers)

MyNameIsSuz · 01/09/2015 06:37

I got that one yesterday too Indomitable, I love it!

IndomitabIe · 01/09/2015 06:41

High five to sleep, Suz

I woke up early and decided to go with it (need to swing my body clock round). But I'm so comfy! I fear hunger will force me out very soon.

treehousethunderstorm · 01/09/2015 09:16

Hi ladies. Haven't been around much on here for the past few weeks. Trying to catch up with everyone's news. The 12 week scan photos are fab!

I've got my 12w scan today at lunchtime and I'm feeling really nervous, so much so I'm feeling sick Blush don't know how I'm going to keep down a pint of water.

Had a terrible few night sleep due to trapped wind pains and having to get up to go the loo Sad

Gingerlady123 · 01/09/2015 09:26

Tree- good luck with your scan. I'm sure it will all be fine I always feel sick before any of mine. Dreading my next one.

Just waiting for midwife to call back today. If not I'm phoning the gp.

Very sad today. I just feel 4.5mm is such high risk for some sort of problem.
I should be excited thinking about gender, clothes, babies room etc. instead all I want is my baby to live :(. Dreading my next scan in case it's got worse, 4.5mm at just eleven weeks really worries me, imagine how much worse by 13 weeks it could be ?
Hope everyone else is ok xx

treehousethunderstorm · 01/09/2015 09:37

Sorry to hear you are having a worrying time ginger. I hope you get some positive news soon. We really are our own worst enemies when it comes to anxiety. Fingers crossed for you

IndomitabIe · 01/09/2015 09:50

Ginger are you still waiting from when you rang yesterday?

I think you should ring the unit/department where you'll be having your scan. Explain to them and see what they can do.

IndomitabIe · 01/09/2015 09:50

Good luck Tree!

Celen · 01/09/2015 09:53

How very worrying for you Ginger, I do hope you get some clarity soon.

I've got another private scan at 11.15 to see if my baby is ok or not. I'm crapping it Sad

EPU can't see me til Thursday (I talked to them on Sunday) & when I called them this morning to see if they had any cancellations, they said they were booking into Sunday! Shock Just shocking really.

IndomitabIe · 01/09/2015 09:58

Good luck for you too Celen

QforCucumber · 01/09/2015 09:59

Its just crazy how busy they are considering they are an emergency unit.
I remember with my mmc a couple of years ago I had gone into a and e on the evening due to some funny, crippling pains - no-one was trained in scanning so was told to go home and I'd get a call the next day, which was Friday - couldn't go back in until the next Friday to be scanned. Spending a week not knowing what was happening was awful, to then be told there was no heartbeat and by my calculations the baby had stopped growing the day before I got the pains.

celen fingers crossed for you, hopefully it'll all be ok.

and ginger I agree with a few pp on here, don't wait for them to contact you, chase them up and see what you can push for. that has to at least keep your mind busy and off the anxiety.

Gingerlady123 · 01/09/2015 10:02

Just rung the department, the earliest they can do is the same day Wednesday 9th but in the morning instead of afternoon.
So flipping angry. Over a week to wait until that. Then however long bloods take to come back. I just want to speak to a doctor who understands more than an ultrasound tech does. I've been told this and then left on my own basically with no proper medical advice. Hopefully midwife will ring back.
Off to see my grandma and dad today. Told my grandma over the phone today she used to work in the maternity unit of the hospital as a secretary. My dad won't understand much he told me 99.9 per cent of pregnancies go perfectly when I told him I was having a threatened miscarriage at six weeks.

Celen- very best of luck for your scan. :) xx

Rosieblossom123 · 01/09/2015 10:08

Hello everyone haven't been on here since Friday, such a busy weekend! My step-son had 4 birthdays so we were all running around like mad! So on my 12 week scan on Friday they put me 3 days ahead so I'm 13 weeks and 2 days today I thought I would start feeling better and nope Saturday morning on our way to a pirate themed bday party I was sick in the car dp couldn't stop as there was no hard shoulder :( I hope I start feeling better soon don't know how I got to work today I feel like a zombie :'( I really just want my bed argggg!!!

Ginger Good luck, I would pester everyone for a scan hun, I was seeing my gp nearly everyday to get an early scan at 9 weeks because of side pain and said that I just want to put my mind at ease and they eventually referred me to the EPU, good luck I really hope it's good news for you Flowers

Celen and Tree good luck girlies, hope it all goes well. Flowers

marmitemofo · 01/09/2015 11:23

morning all, back to work today after the bank holiday. ugh. feeling awful today. 13 weeks tomorrow so I was hoping sickness would have passed but it just won't leave. I feel normal a lot of the time but then get waves of awful dry heaving which take ages to pass. really bored and fed up of feeling awful. With DD I was sick on/off till 15/16 weeks and I was hoping this time I would feel better sooner but guess I have to accept I am one of these unlucky women whose bodies react badly to pregnancy hormones.

sorry to hear you're having trouble getting a scan sooner ginger Sad. sounds so awful and stressful, and I really think it's unfair on you that you've had this information dumped on you with no proper explanation or investigation - as others have said the NT measurement is really only one part of it, you were also measured earlier than the NHS would do, and I think you have been treated badly. FX you get a sooner appointment or some resolution rather than having to wait till the 9th.

marmitemofo · 01/09/2015 11:23

oh and good luck with the scan this morning Celen, hope all goes well

Celen · 01/09/2015 12:00

I'm leaving you girls. I lost our little baby soon after my private scan apparently and my stupid shitty body just hasn't miscarried it yet Sad Am heartbroken.

BeautifulLiar · 01/09/2015 12:00

Good luck Celen and treehouse :)

I'm kind of glad there's so many of us still suffering at 13+ weeks. I'm getting so bored of it but I feel like I've got support here.

Anyway 24 hours and I'll hopefully be looking at my baby for the first time!

BeautifulLiar · 01/09/2015 12:02

Oh my god Celen I'm so sorry. My stupid insensitive message posted before I saw yours. Thinking of you, I really am Flowers

treehousethunderstorm · 01/09/2015 12:12

So, so sorry Celen. Also thinking of you

Rosieblossom123 · 01/09/2015 12:24

oh my god Celen I'm so so sorry hun, thinking of you Flowers

TriJo · 01/09/2015 12:25

So sorry to hear that Celen Flowers

IndomitabIe · 01/09/2015 12:30

Oh no Celen, so sorry to hear that. I really wasn't expecting it to be bad news. Flowers

Gingerlady123 · 01/09/2015 13:06

Celen - I'm so sorry. Thinking of you at this difficult time.

Booked a private nt scan in London for tomorrow. They scan the fluid, look at nasal bone and a few other factors and take bloods. If the risk factor comes out bad I will demand my gp or midwife get me into see a doctor or consultant about this.
Spoke to my nan today she seems optimistic. She had two boys in 1956 and 1960 and said imagine how many women had a high reading then and had healthy babies and they would of never known as they didn't scan in those days.

Rosieblossom123 · 01/09/2015 13:25

Ginger fingers crossed hun, hopefully its good news!

Me624 · 01/09/2015 14:23

So sorry Celen. Take care of yourself.
