Shotgun-not (as we used to say) on the twins please. There's no way we could afford it. I've already researched twins insurance. Quite worried by my bloated belly at 9 weeks! Though rationally putting that down to this being #2.

Thanks for the gap suggestion TriJo they've got exactly what I want, just not in my size (do they really expect to sell a UK size 4?)

QforCucumber · 25/08/2015 17:03

When we got the private scan the lady doing it said they usually get a set of twins a week and triplets once a month - I thought they were crazy statistics, especially for triplets!

TriJo · 25/08/2015 17:05

Gap sizing is generous - I tend to go down a full size from their size chart in anything from there. American grade vanity sizing.

I can understand a UK 4 in a petite range - my boss at work is 4'10" and a size 4-6, but not really in a regular or tall range.

lilmissiehopeful · 25/08/2015 17:22

All well with the scan! V wriggly little monkey just like his/her big sister was at that stage. I know it sounds crazy to say but the facial profile looked so like DD. I'd forgotten how 'proper baby like' they look even at 12 weeks.

Been put back a couple of days so due date now March 9th.

So relieved! Good luck to everyone else waiting for scans xx

Congrats lilmiss :) it is so crazy that something so small looks so 'baby'. Excited for mine... 8 days feels like a lifetime!

IndomitabIe · 25/08/2015 17:30

Beautiful pic lilmiss

Thanks for the tip TriJo, I might be able to get one pair then, probably not the size 4s though!

AdorabeezleWinterpop · 25/08/2015 17:45

I was so relieved it wasn't twins! DSIL's "DC3" ended up being DC3&4 (identical twins) and I was quite scared it would happen to us, although I know that ID twins don't run in families. The girls are absolutely fantastic and everyone adores them, but we have neither the space nor the spare cash for 4 children!

sherazade · 25/08/2015 18:02

lilmiss , marmite and adorabeezle, congrats on your scans going well. Loving the pictures and looking forward to tomorrow morning.

sherazade · 25/08/2015 18:03

Indomitable there's so much parallel stuff going on in this thread. I actually opened a book too when mn was on lockdown..

lilmissiehopeful · 25/08/2015 18:08

Thanks all!

Also a bit relieved it's not twins to be honest. Would be lovely of course but realistically quite tricky space wise and financially. When the second one is old enough for the free childcare hours and then school we will actually have a reasonable amount of disposable cash again :-)

Looking forward to sorting some new maternity clothes now. Esp for work as I've been rotating the same three outfits since week 7. Fortunately I only work 3 days but still...must be a tad obvious!

Me624 · 25/08/2015 18:20

Lovely pic lilmiss glad all went well.

IndomitabIe · 25/08/2015 18:24

Oh no I haven't even thought about work clothes. Although, my gassy-bloating has eased off and I spent today with my jeans actually done up a lot of the time (low rise pushed even lower -worryingly so in fact!). Hopefully my work trousers will fit. Finding a loose-ish top will be a challenge - my clothes are all 5+ years old and tumble-dryer 'fitted'! In fact the very appearance of a Different top might give things away before my scan. Although, my room is usually cold enough for the magic-hiding-scarf.

shieldbug · 25/08/2015 20:23

Congrats to all those who have had scans. Such lovely pictures (and way more detailed than the scan I had!).
Had my scan yesterday but MN was down when I tried to report. All well, but no good pics as it was too jiggly. Did get to see it sucking its thumb with the jaw working away; just like ds2 who sucks his thumb like a hardened smoker taking their last drag! My next scan is only 4 weeks away (consultant care; hooray) so hopefully will be able to get a better view then. My boys came with me to the appt and were sooo excited to see a wriggly baby sibling. They have started saying "hello baby" to the bump (which is mahoosive already; no hiding this one).

Celen · 25/08/2015 20:35

I love all these scan pics, they're fantastic! Smile

Missdee2014 · 25/08/2015 22:58

Loving the scan pics, keep them coming ladies. Another shorty here at 5'1, hoping to not spend a fortune on maternity clothes here either. Have a feeling I'm going to be huge though as I'm currently about 2 stone overweight. Defo getting a wee bit firmer but still just appear fat to others, I know though ???? lol can't wait to properly show so it's not just like I'm gaining weight.

MyNameIsSuz · 26/08/2015 06:42

Congrats on all the lovely scans ladies! I have mine today and am majorly anxious. Last time was a mmc only picked up at the scan, I had no idea so it could have happened again and I wouldn't know. I just want it to be 1pm already! How on earth am I going to do any work this morning...

Me624 · 26/08/2015 06:56

Good luck Suz. The chances of everything being ok this time are really high.

Paperblank · 26/08/2015 07:03

Hope your scan goes well today suz

Good luck Suz, really hope everything looks good for you. Did you have an early scan?

BeautifulLiar · 26/08/2015 07:57

Congrats shieldbug and good luck suz xxx

Having loads of fun here... i broke the toilet flusher two days ago and the estate agents still haven't sent a plumber out!!

Sooo 3 young children (none in nappies), a pregnant woman and SIL and her two children here every day and a broken toilet!!! Give me strength.

lilmissiehopeful · 26/08/2015 08:10

Good luck Suz!

Beautiful oh dear that really does not sound like fun. Have you got friendly neighbours who will let you use their bathroom? Fingers crossed it all gets sorted soon x

BeautifulLiar · 26/08/2015 08:48

Ok this is embarrassing to admit but yes, on one side we have lovely neighbours who are always willing to help and on the other side we have a plumber... but I'm too proud to let anyone know Blush

We do have a downstairs toilet, but we normally keep the utility locked as the 2 and 4 year old take things out of the fridge. I've had to unlock it all, found yogurt everywhere this morning :(

maybebabybee · 26/08/2015 08:50

beautiful oh no that sounds awful

suz good luck for your scan lovely, fx for you that everything is great :)

Thought my sickness was getting better but felt grim last night and this morning went to the loo, flushed the loo and then promptly turned around and threw up. Only the third time I've actually vommed and I never seem to feel very sick before it happens, it just happens without warning!

Feeling very fat. Put on 5lbs since BFP and I was already 10st5 (so about half a stone overweight at my height). Trying not to care about it but I do :(

Smirkingpicnicbasket · 26/08/2015 09:05

Maybe - I've had the same this morning - brilliant day yesterday with very little sickness and more energy, stayed up to watch educating Cardiff and paying for it today! Puking in the kitchen sink, with a rather startled 1 year old watching, to start the day and feel rough again - sore kidneys!! gaaaahhh!

QforCucumber · 26/08/2015 09:15

maybe I'm panicking because I'm the exact same weight I was when I got my bfp, feeling like I should have put on something by now.

All this scan talk and pictures are making m very jealous, I'm 12 weeks on Saturday and still have another 12 days to wait Sad can't shake the feeling of another mmc even though 9 week scan showed all ok. DP said to look into another private one to stop me worrying but they have no appointments until the 4th and nhs scan is the 7th anyways.

beautiful plumber neighbour will have seen worse than a broken flusher thingy, maybe he can at least short term solution it while you wait for the property management people.
