Wah! Baby brain seems to be kicking in. Wonder what joys it will have instore for me this time. When pregnant with dd my highlights were binning my house keys and hanging up a bag of chicken fat where my keys should go, forgetting my card pin multipul times and having to reargange a glazer fixing a broken window 5 times because I kept forgetting when they were meant to be coming.

This morning I made a specail trip out the supermarket to buy pull ups. Brought 2 packs and nothing else, have the recpiet to prove it. Get dd out of the bath and go to get her ready for bed, no pull ups. Must have left them at the check out. So my wonderful dad had to take me on a mad dash around all the shops that were still open to find something that would fit her. May have to resort to internet shopping and deal with the nightmare of no driver ever being able to find our house.

Me624 · 23/08/2015 20:40

dobby I feel your pain, I live on a new build estate which is a complete maze and our postcode doesn't work in anyone's sat nav. Deliveries are a nightmare!

My baby brain hasn't kicked in yet but hormones are making me extremely moody at the moment, poor DH is bearing the brunt of it.

dobbythedoggy · 23/08/2015 21:17

me Our house is the opposite, really old. Easy to find the house but not the acess to it. The houses that sprung up around it all face the opposite ways to ours. So our main acess is essentually at the back to where everyone thinks, to get to it by road you have to go through a maze of tiny roads. To make matters worse the downstairs bay windows make the house blend into the rest of the street but with no front door. Drives people trying to deliver to us mad no matter what we put on the order form. Land lady has fitted letter box under on of the 'back windows' so post isn't a problem and the postie has been well trained in knocking on the window with parcels.

Which reminds me my midwife with dd took to climbing through the window rather than trying to park at the back when she did postnatel visits.

Finally got my scan date! 17 September, I'll be 12+1.

I just was thinking about pregnancy brain the other week. It hasn't kicked in yet. Tbh, all that stuff was much worse for me after the birth, I still don't think my cognitive functioning is what it was. So maybe I won't even notice any decline this time :/

Missdee2014 · 24/08/2015 08:11

Hey, I've been terrible at keeping up with this thread! Being back at work is taking its toll on me. Had a hectic weekend doing stuff with my dp and the kids and we are absolutely exhausted. Kids really struggled to get up this morning.

On the plus though, 11 weeks yesterday and my scan is a week on Wednesday! Cannot wait so we can finally tell the world lol

Hope everyone is doing good? Who's all got scans this week?

BeautifulLiar · 24/08/2015 08:20

Misdee I'm your scan twin, wondered where you'd got to! I'm already 12 weeks though. Going to venture out today to find some kind of maternity wear - it's not going to happen though as I'm only 5ft and apparently petite women don't get pregnant...

MyNameIsSuz · 24/08/2015 08:22

My scan is on Wednesday - eep!

Jenbee1 · 24/08/2015 08:38

Good luck with all the scans this week

maybebabybee · 24/08/2015 08:49

It's only Monday morning and already struggling with work. Just feel so tired and gross.

2 bloody tube strikes this week too - really hoping my boss lets me work from home as I'm so not up for a 2 hour commute in the rain!!!

TriJo · 24/08/2015 09:28

I usually run in when there's a tube strike on (perks of zone 2) - but that won't be possible soon. They really need to sort this shit out.

marmitemofo · 24/08/2015 09:31

running late for work this morning, feel awful! didn't feel too bad over the weekend so was hoping I was on the home straight and I could actually get work done today... looks unlikely

my scan is tomorrow morning, can't wait. will be a relief to finally get it done. I haven't been as paranoid about a mmc this time as I was with DD but as the scan is approaching I'm finding I'm starting to get more worried about it Confused not much I can do but wait and see and keep my fingers crossed!

maybebabybee · 24/08/2015 09:39

Trijo I also live in zone 2 and couldn't even vaguely entertain the idea of running to work - kudos to you!!!

Good luck to all those with scans this week, very exciting.

sherazade · 24/08/2015 10:19

beautiful let me know if you find anything. I'm 5 ft too and finding it almost impossible. The best fitting clothes were h&m in xs because they tend to be cut small and I managed to find some trousers which I think were meant to be slightly cropped but came up full length on me for work. Next do petite length maternity clothes online but their range seems very limited so far.

maybebabybee · 24/08/2015 10:28

also 5ft 2 and struggling!

AdorabeezleWinterpop · 24/08/2015 12:06

Scan done! All fine but the picture is rubbish! Measuring spot on so due date is 8th March. Been given a date for 20 week scan too.

Rosieblossom123 · 24/08/2015 12:08

maybe I'm 5ft2 and found new look okay to be honest, even the trousers fit perfectly! I'm also struggling with work today, haven't been sick since last Wednesday so I'm happy but today I feel a bit nauseous must be from working haha I heard there will be tube strikes, do you know if there is one on Wednesday at all?

Missdee my scan is on friday @ 9! I can't wait, it's dragging so much :(

TriJo · 24/08/2015 12:09

It starts on Tuesday evening, is all day Wednesday, starts again Thursday evening and is on all day Friday. It's going to be a clusterfuck of epic proportions.

Rosieblossom123 · 24/08/2015 12:11

Adora congratulations :) my due date is 9th March so a day after you, my 9+6 scan confirmed that but they said they'll give me an accurate one on Friday. When is your 20 week scan?

Me624 · 24/08/2015 12:19

Great news Adora. My 20 week scan was booked too while I was there - seems really soon! (16th October). I know there are lots of midwife appointments but it seems slightly scary that after the 20 week one which is only half way through, I won't have any other scans.

Rosieblossom123 · 24/08/2015 12:45

Tri seriously? ahhhh that's so annoying, the only day I need to go to central london with my mum :( I might have to drive! It's going to be a disaster.

maybebabybee · 24/08/2015 12:58

rosie on wednesday the strike starts at 6.30pm so you should be ok provided you leave early!

adora congratulations!

Rosieblossom123 · 24/08/2015 13:24

maybe oh thanks hun i'm happy now :)

TriJo · 24/08/2015 13:37

^Dear TriJo,

Certain Tube trade unions have announced strike action for this week. If the strikes go ahead, Tube services will be severely affected from tomorrow, Tuesday 25 until Friday 28 August.

The best way to find out what Tube services are running during the strikes will be our real-time travel tools at tfl.gov.uk and by following @TfLTravelAlerts, @TfLTrafficNews and @TfLBusAlerts on Twitter. You can also visit tfl.gov.uk/tube-strike

These services will operate as normal, but they will be much busier than usual and customers are strongly advised, if possible, to travel outside the morning and evening peaks.

Tuesday 25 August
Tube services will run as normal for most of tomorrow but will stop running at around 18:30, so please complete your Tube journey by this time and travel earlier if possible. Tube services are expected to be exceptionally busy between 16:30 and 18:30.

Wednesday 26 August
We will run as many Tube services as possible according to how many staff sign onto their shifts. However, most Tube services are unlikely to run at all and those that do run may only serve some stations, and may only run for part of the day. Please check our website and Twitter accounts for updates on what is running. Extra bus and river services will run, but all other public transport services and roads will be much busier than usual. Please travel outside the morning and evening peaks if you can.

From the email I got over lunchtime...

BeautifulLiar · 24/08/2015 14:00

Congrats Adora! I have a feeling my due date will be 8th March but we'll see.

Fellow petite women - I got some grey maternity leggings in a size S AND THEY ACTUALLY FIT!!!

I usually wear size 8 petite leggings from new look but they've started to cut in badly so thought I'd buy them in size 10... well they're far too long and bunched up so I'll have to return them!

Then i just got loads of long ish tops from the primark sale, and a leopard print jumper thing from h+m (not maternity).

Ooh and in primark they had hundreds of boob tubes in different colours reduced to £1 each, so I've bought a load of them in a size 6 to use as makeshift bump bands!!

BeautifulLiar · 24/08/2015 14:01

Ooh and I've got a bump :) pretty excited to get it on show soon....
