See I can't leave the house without nice hair, make up on etc and I just don't have the energy to do that with the morning sickness! Sad can't do ice cream WITH lolly though, it's got to be one or the other!!

QforCucumber · 15/08/2015 17:14

beautiful today I'm in a pair of gym leggings and a gym top, bit of bb cream and hair up - going for the just out of the gym look haha. The iceland isn't in the nicest of estates and it's not unusual to see people wandering around from said estate in the pj's and slippers so going there without a face on doesn't phase me.

Pannacott · 15/08/2015 18:52

Haven't posted for ages, just been catching up. I was just explaining to DP that if I even stand up I feel like I've run a marathon. I think with DD the nausea was worse, and I was more sleepy, but now I just feel exhausted all the time. Maybe a boy this time I think.

They do the bloods, scan and booking in altogether at 12 weeks here, so mid September for me.

On another note, I was at Wilderness Festival last weekend with some other NCT families - it was brilliant fun. We were lucky with the weather but there was loads of fun stuff going on, amazing food, fantastic kids area and a Nanny yurt, hot tubs by the lake... We're definitely going back next year.

dobbythedoggy · 15/08/2015 19:08

I'm actually sick of ice lollies, when ms was really bad before I went to the gp eatting them was the only way I reliably kept fluid down. Dd also started to expect them for breakfast, we're having to avoid keeping them in the house now as she has a melt down over only being allowed one a day! Ice cream on the other hand, yum. We have amazing local ice cream and the vans only have scoop rather than wippy. We need to track down the local ice cream van that's gone rouge and is serving more than the companies traditional vanila ice cream, word is they have cherry which I NEED to try.

Went on a long car trip to get much needed maternity bra, just over 3 1/4 hours round trip with extra holiday traffic. So hot where we are we induldged in ice drinks from mcdonalds on the way, strawberry iced lemonade. Enjoyed it so much had to get one of the trip home too. Got rid of the horrid metalic taste for a while. Already thinking about getting another tomorrow. Got a fab bra too, so nice to feel comfortable again.

Will have to make sure to scan my scan pictures soon. Mum needs to have them on her lap top so she can show my nan when she goes up for her next chemo treatment.

Indomitable · 16/08/2015 10:03

Morning, I'm sitting outside the maternity unit waiting for my booking in. MW is on the phone, and I know she's got someone in labour somewhere too. So I might be back later at this rate!

purplecat27 · 16/08/2015 10:15

Wow this thread has really moved along! I've just started a new job so I've been really busy and haven't been on, hello again to all and congrats to those that have been having happy scans!

I'm 12 weeks today. Still bloated out like a pot-bellied pig, still vomming every couple days and am on my ~17th packet of ginger thins. I've got my dating scan tomorrow and feeling really nervous, I just want today to be over with so that it can be tomorrow and I can have my scan and know if everything is OK!

On a more positive note, we've got a shopping delivery due to arrive by 11 and I'm feeling ridiculously excited by the 2 tubs of Rachel's honey yoghurt that I know will be in there. All the recent talk of ice lollies has me really fancying a tip top too, might have to venture out for some later, mmm.

Trinpy · 16/08/2015 10:28

good luck for the scan tomorrow purple. I hope all goes well.

I also want an ice lolly after reading this thread. I may have to pop out to the shop later to get some and hide them from dh and ds.

Dh has gone to work today and ds is at my mum's until 4 so I'm having a lovely lazy day at home Smile. Currently enjoying a cup of tea on bed while mning then I'm going to force myself to get up and do a bit of housework. I'm working a night shift tonight but trying not to think about it!

Me624 · 16/08/2015 11:00

Good luck for the scan tomorrow purple. Mine is on Friday and I'm willing the days away! I don't think I've ever been more excited and nervous about something in my life!

Wow Indomitable they do routine appointments at the weekend where you are? No chance of that round here. I did manage to get my scan booked for 8am though which I was quite impressed with as I will only be slightly late into work rather than needing a whole morning off.

lilmisshopeful · 16/08/2015 11:10

Good luck for tomorrow purple.

Weekend appointments here too me - I had my booking appt with mw yesterday afternoon. She was very thorough. Went thru every pregnancy (that's 5 including this one and the 3 mcs) in great detail and my labour and delivery with DD. I was exhausted by the end of it - was quite emotional going thru it all.

She strongly encouraged me to getting notes from DD labour and delivery and have a debrief or whatever they call it. She reckons I have some 'unresolved issues' and am still traumatised so I should sort them out before labour this time round. Hmmm she's probably right...just need to convince DH who is v reticent about reliving the whole thing so doesn't want to see the notes. He doesn't have to I guess!

Indomitable · 16/08/2015 11:44

Good luck for tomorrow purple

Sorry to hear your booking in was traumatic, lilmiss.

Mine was much more straightforward but I have been referred to the antenatal mental health people as I confessed to being a bit anxious at times, mainly when tired. But only the normal amount. Still, it can only help I'm sure.

Next appointment is not till October now. Though should have the scan in between sometime.

Me624 · 16/08/2015 12:14

I don't know what happened during your previous labour lilmiss but hope you get the help you need to make sure the next one goes swimmingly!

I am going to a wedding in a couple of weeks. I bought a new dress for it several months ago, well before getting my bfp. Just tried it on again and thank goodness it fits! I was between two sizes and luckily I went for the bigger one. Now I need to find some shoes to match it!

BeautifulLiar · 16/08/2015 12:50

good luck, purple.

Indomitable, I'm planning on telling my midwife about how my anxiety got worse during my last pregnancy. It spiralled out of control and came to a head when DD2 was nearly 1 and a health visitor recognised straight away that I needed urgent help. I'm not sure what the midwife will say, but I do not want a repeat process!

sjd114 · 16/08/2015 14:47

Hi all!

Been meaning to pop in here and say hi!

I've got an early scan at the epu tomorrow , I am petrified. :( brown blood for the last 5 days.. and not really feeling pregnant anymore. :/
And also, I'm a bit worried about an internal scan, erm. . Ouch?

(First time ) haha

QforCucumber · 16/08/2015 15:21

sjd hi - and good luck Smile I've not had an internal scan for pregnancy but have had one due to gynae problems and there's no pain, it's a bit Cold and uncomfortable but didn't hurt at all.
How far along do you think you should be?

Smirkingpicnicbasket · 16/08/2015 16:59

I had an internal (or what I like to call dildo cam!) with DD, it's uncomfortable but nothing worse than a smear! You get a bit pre occupied looking at the screen to acknowledge what's going on down below.

MyNameIsSuz · 16/08/2015 17:24

I've had dildo scans too and barely felt it. They have always tried externally first but it was never a success for me as my uterus is tilted backwards, and pregnancy always gives me lots of obstructive gas!

Missdee2014 · 16/08/2015 17:24

I'm sure brown blood is old blood and I'm sure that nothing to worry about. I bled loads in my last 2 pregnancies (1 successful and 1 mc), it's not always bad news. Try not to worry too much. Internal scans aren't too bad, you are more focused on the screen to notice.

Celen · 16/08/2015 18:50

To all the lolly lovers, I've just got some orange juice ones from Tesco - can't wait til DS goes to bed do I can chow down uninterrupted!

lilmiss, may I ask whereabouts (just roughly!) you are? I'd be very interested in going through my labour notes from dc1 but got the impression from a friend that it happened at some point during an MW appointment, the notes hadn't been requested by the mother/patient?

sjd114 · 16/08/2015 19:30

Q I think I am 10+5. But will find out tomorrow. Oh I'm so bloody nervous. :(

But the dildo cam thing really made me chuckle. It's not in my pee.. just when I wipe.. and not in my pants either!? We shall see! Thank you all for the advice:) xx

Mrsrsw · 16/08/2015 19:31

ad my follow up scan on Thursday and found that is had a miscarriage. Gutted, especially as we'd seen the heartbeat 2 weeks before.
So now I'm just waiting for AF to turn up, and then decide when to start again x

Best of luck on your journeys xx

Paperblank · 16/08/2015 19:38
