Glad to hear things are looking up Cuppa!

Armani how have the check-up's gone? A friend of mine recently had a baby that was on the 'small' side on the measurements and she is perfect - I think they are just babies who are trying to make things easier for mum!

I had a 32 week scan on Friday as there is a family history of diabetes (thankfully no sign of it showing up with me at the moment!) Baby is too big to fit on the screen now but it was lovely to get another peek in.

Total Chaos at home at the moment as we are having the bathroom re-done including walls taken down - it seemed a good idea at the time :-/

Tangoandcreditcards · 03/11/2015 18:43

cuppa , I'm with you on the optimism! At 20mo DS is seemingly starting to sleep through maybe half the time!! This is massive progress (from NEVER 3 months ago). So maybe less nighttime hassle when baby gets here. Not counting any chickens, but it's a start! Glad you're all on the mend.

Hmmm an open plan bathroom cth sounds interesting... Grin

Seriously though, you're very brave tackling a "project" in late pregnancy. We just moved our living room furniture around a bit and it was about as much as I could cope with.

CuppaSarah · 03/11/2015 19:24

Cth you are brave, but its not uncommon apparently. I mean every home improvement show I watch(now I have finished work woooo) has a very pregnant lady on it. Maybe it's a late pregnancy symptom, getting up to pee in the night, heartburn, knocking down walls...Grin it will be amazing having a new bathroom to soak in after childbirth though.

That's the spirit tango and tiny tango!! When's your scan? That must be coming up very soon.

Tangoandcreditcards · 04/11/2015 16:11

Scan in the morning cuppa - hope placenta has moved so I can go ahead with home birth.

In other news (and I'm telling you, because I can't tell my nearest and dearest) I have the WORST PILES. I literally never want to go to the loo ever ever again. They've been hanging around for 3 weeks now, and just won't go. sob

CuppaSarah · 04/11/2015 17:02

I have my fingers crossed for the scan and legs crossed in sympathy. Piles are nasty business!

I posted on a local Facebook group if anywhere local sold second hand duvets and towels. Now I have the entire town offering me free towels and duvets and water proof mats. Blush I wasn't asking for free stuff, but I have more offers than I know what to do with! Sods law says baby will go breech and I'll need a csection now. It is lovely to see how generous and lovely my community is.

Tangoandcreditcards · 05/11/2015 10:44

Wow cuppa - that's amazing, you'll have a nice squidgy nest of generosity!

Scan all good, placenta out of the way so, so far all good for HB... although DP is getting antsy about the mess, he wants to put an empty paddling pool on the bed "for the slime"... I think he's just realised he'll be in charge of clearing up! Grin

cth1982 · 05/11/2015 11:34

lol sorry tango but the slime comment really made me giggle!

CuppaSarah · 05/11/2015 11:50

Yay!! So pleased for you tango!! I love the idea of you giving birth in a little kiddies paddling pool on the bed Grin

I got my first nursing bra yesterday. It was a depressing experience. I have gone up a band sisizezr and two cup sizes. I'm getting way too far down the alphabet for my liking! The bra is super super compfy but oh my God does it look matronly. I don't think dh is too impressed by my 40s cone boobs Blush

roseformyrose · 05/11/2015 16:00

Hello all! Wow, so exciting that everyone is starting to plan for their births.

I've just had my 32 week scan and got good news that my little boy has somehow managed to get himself into the right position (I have a septate uterus so they were thinking I'd probably need a c section). Full steam ahead for natural birth! Although unfortunately since his head has dropped into my pelvis I'm now completely crippled with SPD and am in agony walking even to the next room. Don't suppose anyone has any handy tips on how to cope?

HopeItComesLate · 05/11/2015 21:11

Pleased to hear all the 32 week scans are bringing good news so far. Sorry to hear your spd is playing up rose I think someone previously mentioned frozen pees.
Been in nursing bras for a couple of weeks now cuppa there so comfy I refuse to wear anything else.
Got a preliminary move in date for the new house which is really exciting but I'm going to be about 36 weeks pregnant scary stuff.
Went to the labour antinatal class yesterday and all who attended seemed to be annoyingly perfect and loved up. I was so hot I wouldn't let my partner sit to close to me whilst others held hands the whole way through. One women even asked if her husband was allowed I'm the birthing pool with her I can't think of anything worse
I hope it's not just me that feels like a bit of a bitch at the moment Hmm

Tangoandcreditcards · 05/11/2015 21:53

Great stuff on the scan rose , on the SPD, that's one I'm very familiar with, I'm afraid. The answer really is to do as little as possible.

No lifting (tell that to my DS!!)
No walking (more than 5 mins, walk 5 rest 5 if you have to)
Limit driving (especially if you drive a manual)
Pillow between the knees when lying down
Always have both feet flat on ground when going from sitting to standing (swivel to get in and out of car)
Definitely no pushing (e.g shopping trolley or pushchair)
Bag of frozen pant-peas for your sore spots
Its really dull but having done 2 pregnancies with SPD now, rest is the best cure, and a decent mattress. Are you working?

I gave up an underwire months ago. I've got foobs so they don't change at all but think my ribs expand or something so had to switch to something softer. DP likes to point out that because they stay the same they look "tiny" next to my bump (I'm a plastic FF!). At least they aren't sore I suppose (unlike my poor beleaguered bumhole which is unchanged, if you really wanted an update...)! I think 40s style is a good look, cuppa get yourself a vintage dress and parade those missiles!

hope - I hear you, I went to pregnancy yoga last time and met a lot of women I couldn't get on the same wavelength as, have avoided all that by not going to any classes this time and posting here instead! :-)

Tangoandcreditcards · 05/11/2015 21:54

Mammoth post. Soz.

CuppaSarah · 05/11/2015 22:18

Yay Rose glad baby is making things as easy as possible. The spd sounds utterly hellish though, I hope it lessens for you. My area gives pregnant ladies ten free swim sessions, does your area do anything similar? Even standing in the pool and getting the weight off your back feels lovely.

Hope that's cutting it close! But brilliant you'll be in there for Christmas. At my antenatal class last time I was like a balloon hippo, every one else was all neat and elegant. They made us try hypnobirthing which was fine. But they sat us on these loud plastic bean bags, everyone else could sit blissfully still while every two seconds I shifted making massive plastic noises, ruining the claiming effect a bit. Everyone was so perfect and elegant and Kate Middletonesque. Damn pregnancy unicorns!!

Tango it took me ages to realize was foobs meant then I twigged. I have outgrown/CBA with my vintage and my nice clothes anymore. Maternity jeans, leggings and loose tops all the way!

roseformyrose · 05/11/2015 22:30

Thanks for the advice all! Very helpful. I do still have to commute which is making it much worse (I walk 4 miles a day there and back) but I'm going to try and work from home a bit more if I can.

Haha, hypnobirthing beanbags sound brilliant! When I went to a class we were trying to do breathing exercises while there was a massive hornet flying around, it wasn't exactly relaxing...

Tangoandcreditcards · 05/11/2015 22:36

Ha! Sorry cuppa - shorthand from the cancer forums I frequent that doesn't necessarily immediately translate.

My favourite favourite clothes at the moment are 2 T shirts that DP won for me on the tombola at the Great British Beer Festival. Designed for beer bellies, perfect for me! So poor bump is decorated with real ale branding. Suffice to say, not v Kate Middleton esque.

Tangoandcreditcards · 05/11/2015 22:41

4 miles a day rose Shock- no wonder your hips are playing up!! I used to do similar but cut it right out the moment I found out I was pg, had SPD from 8 weeks and god bless DP who gets up at 6am every morning to drive me to the station. It's the repetitive motion of walking what does it, so if there's even a bus you can jump on that'll help. It's only for a few weeks.

roseformyrose · 06/11/2015 10:20

Ah, that's sweet of your DP tango. I can't even imagine how cross I'd be if I'd been feeling like this from 8 weeks! I've been pretty lucky that it's been manageable so far, but now that the baby's head has dropped down I think all bets are off.

Unfortunately there isn't really a bus that makes my life any easier, it's just a bit of an awkward route to work. I'm going to try and work from home as much as possible in the remaining weeks though. Only 4 weeks to go!

I also love the fact that you've beer-branded your baby, do you get weird looks from people trying to work out if you just have a very firm looking beer belly? I painted my bump pumpkin orange for Halloween and went trick or treating with my niece and nephew - people thought I was wearing a prosthetic!

Tangoandcreditcards · 06/11/2015 15:41

2 weeks left for me rose - I am DONE IN (DP will appreciate not having to do the lifts too!).

I tend to wear my beery t-shirts in the house or at least under things, hopefully I'm beyond the "is it a beer belly? phase!... I have FOUR novelty Christmas maternity outfits (DS was a Feb baby) so my bump is going to get decked out very soon!

Happy weekend all.

CuppaSarah · 06/11/2015 17:42

Tango my DD is a Feb baby too! DD is 3 in Feb, if your DS is too you must have a girl so we can be opposites but the same! Love the beer baby tops!

I love people didn't believe your bump was real rose!

You're all on the home stretch! Barely any time at work left, you can all do it!!not said snuggly from the comfort of my own home

Also be proud of me, I saw my mum today. It was a bit awkward and weird, but I didn't let her cause any drama. It was all on my terms and calm, feeling very pleased with myself.

Tangoandcreditcards · 07/11/2015 09:33

Well done cuppa if a bit of awkward weirdness keeps the drama at bay, it's probably worth it. Stick to your guns on it being on your terms though, you've got enough on your plate.

DS is 2 in Feb cuppa. So not quite matching but close enough! Sometimes I really want a little girl (mainly because I'm VERY attached to the girls' name we've chosen) but sometimes I really want another DS so I know what I'm getting. I don't mind at all obviously.

Absolutely no plans this weekend, such a relief. Might bake an Xmas cake!

CuppaSarah · 07/11/2015 12:11

Oh a weekend with no plans! That is the ultimate luxury, make sure you make the most of doing nothing guilt free.

I totally know the feeling of wanting one of each and also wanting two of the same. Still call this baby a girl if I don't stop myself, but the little penis and balls were very telling.

Anyone nesting much yet? I'm getting a little obsessed with bleaching the floor and cooking and sorting the entire flat. Which to be fair is desperate to do be done as we never finished sorting proper homes for everything when we moved in. The place looks so much bigger for my manic sorting today. Also anyone got a health visitor visit soon? Last time we visited them, so it'll be nice to be at home instead.

Tangoandcreditcards · 08/11/2015 07:17

Ha! I'm not sure I believe in nesting. You must have bags of energy that I don't! My nesting extends to writing lists of things I need to do to stress about/delegate to DP, but not much more! Maybe once I'm done with work... but probably not.

Tangoandcreditcards · 08/11/2015 10:26

PS I never saw the HV last time until I'd been discharged by the MW (1-2 weeks after birth) but I'm in a different (but neighbouring) area/hosp now so might be different. I'll ask at my next MW appt. The MW did say she'd do a home visit pre-birth if we agreed a HB, but we were waiting on results of this week's scan, so guess I'll find out at the end of the month. It seems they do things differently all over!

sherbertlemon17 · 08/11/2015 11:49

Ah Tango, love a weekend with no plans. Did you get round to baking your xmas cake? Love a bit of baking Cake

I keep having bursts of nesting Cuppa. Lots of sorting and tidying of baby stuff. Even sorted my hospital bag and thinking I should probably wash the baby's things so I can pack their bag too. Definitely not one for cleaning for the fun of it here though. Cannot stand dusting! So if I get the urge I know that it'll be hormone induced! Lol!

Thanks for the hypnobirthing suggestions btw Smile

Tangoandcreditcards · 09/11/2015 06:38

I did make a Christmas cake. You could sink an ocean liner with it Blush... So that's something to look forward to got midnight snacking on night feeds!
