Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 36th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 35th grads fred is here.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 51st outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates.

Happy Belated Birthday Rhi!

RhiannonElward · 12/08/2015 15:44

Thanks all, I had a brilliant one, now if I could just sleep for a week to recover....Smile

Lookingforadvice123 · 12/08/2015 15:48

Night feed wise as much as I'm hoping to breast feed for the first few weeks at least, I'm going to express as early as I can so DH can share the feeds! I imagine while I'm on ML and especially in the early weeks it will be me getting up - those who have kiddies already, is it true that even if you are expressing a couple of feeds a day, your boobs get very engorged/sore every few hours? If so roughly how many hours is this?

If that's the case I guess it will be easier for me to BF for night feeds rather than asking DH to do a bottle! I tend to agree with rhiannon tbh, if I'm bf in the night I don't see the point in waking DH up deliberately, especially if he has work and I'm on ML. I'm lucky that he's an early riser though so we've agreed I will have as much of a lie in as poss on the weekends! And I don't plan on still bfing when I go back to work (as baby will be 10 months) so at that point we can split it 50/50!

Lookingforadvice123 · 12/08/2015 15:48

Ps happy belated birthday rhi Cake

That's a very unselfish viewpoint looking but being up four times in the night, every night makes for an evil Thursday!

After the initial milk coming in my breasts settled down after 10 days or so. But it's constantly changing with growth spurts and longer gaps between feeds so it fluctuates a lot the whole time.

General advice is ebf for six weeks to establish feeding, but DS was voracious and we could express and use a bottle from about 4 weeks - the HV suggested it in fact.

Everyone will find their rhythm Smile

Lookingforadvice123 · 12/08/2015 16:19

Oh I'm sure I will still be evil thursday Grin and if it's the case of baby waking up purely to have his nappy changed I would be happy to send DH on his merry way to deal with it! But if it's only boob he's (baby) after, I might as well let DH sleep!

goodnessgraciousgouda · 12/08/2015 16:38

looking - That sounds very kind of you! But how will you know which one it is until you have checked the baby...?!

Toast85 · 12/08/2015 16:52

Happy birthday Rhi!

DH has already been dropping hints that it may not make sense for the dad to be up with the baby when he has work the next day, if the mum is staying at home... Luckily he does fewer longer shifts so there are more days in the week when hes NOT at work than days that he is!

Last week's comments focused entirely around 'wow you've grown!' And people noticing my bump.
This week's comments have been 'wow you're tiny for 30 weeks!'
I wish people would make their minds up.

CarrotPuff · 12/08/2015 16:53

Rhi these are very nice gaps. I guess it will be easier once September comes as they will be in school/preschool.

Expressing doesn't work for everyone. I could never express a whole feed in one go, so had to do it at least 2 times (and for some reason it only worked once a day, so 2 days) and I would end up so engorged it took a week to settle. Also feeds are not the only factor - DS was a non sleeper, and woke up every hour until he was 7mo. I wouldn't have felt comfortable leaving him with anyone, even if they could feed him, don't think it would have been fair on anyone!

Pud I bloody love my sleep but DS has clearly inherited his dad's non-sleeping gene Angry I hope you are luckier than me!

SecondCupOfTea · 12/08/2015 17:16

I need some advice dear viroids. At less than 10 weeks I am running out of clothes due to excess bloat, so I'm looking to get some maternity items (jeans, etc.). Now for what seems like a silly question...do I buy the same size in maternity jeans that I used to buy in normal jeans, or do I need to go up a size to allow for bloat? Even my thighs seem bigger than normal and I'm not sure if maternity clothing only makes allowance for the bump

honeysucklejasmine · 12/08/2015 17:19

Noisy cat still not back and I am pretty convinced it was me the camera flashed at. Sad What a terrible day!

Purpleball · 12/08/2015 17:29

Just caught up a bit. Thanks for the support lovelies I need to think about the bigger picture, the section is just one day and then I get my baby boy Smile

We got a video monitor but it doesn't have a thermometer on it, hence the Gro egg. It lights a different colour depending on temperature. There are mixed reviews but we often have a ceiling fan on so I'd hate for him to be too cold. Although I know too warm is worse. I'm also thinking about when he goes into his own room too.

Happy Birthday Rhi, hope you've had a lovely day Smile

3 more days to work! Yippee!

Purpleball · 12/08/2015 17:30

Tea yes buy your usual size in maternity clothes. I've never worn my maternity jeans, just lots of leggings and dresses

oneyorkshirepud · 12/08/2015 17:53

Oh no Honey, hope noisy cat comes back soon.

Tea, I noticed a sign in H & M that said for months 1-3 to wear you usual size, 4-6 one size up and 7-9 two sizes up. I haven't seen this advice anywhere else and I am still in my normal (maternity) size at 5 months, but I do know that a lot of people find that h&m sizes come up small so this may be specific to them. I have found mat clothes a bit hit and miss, some fitted really well at 15 weeks and some are chuffing huge (saving those for Dec), so you may need to try a few on to see what fits best. It's a bit of a mine field but soooooo comfy when you find something good, good luck!

CarrotPuff · 12/08/2015 17:55

I went up a size with DS but then I didn't start wearing maternity until I was 6/7 months. If you think you've put some weight in your bum you'll probably put some more later on so I would get a size up.

Lookingforadvice123 · 12/08/2015 18:03

gouda I'm expecting sproglet to learn to speak from a very young age so he can tell us himself Grin I expect to hear either "father, please change my nappy" or "mother, may I have some boob" Wink

In all seriousness I actually have no idea how it will work, I guess if it's like carrot's situation where he's up every hour, not necessarily for boob, I would definitely want to share the load! I really hope expressing works for me, if not I imagine I will only bf for a few weeks before switching to ff.

Lookingforadvice123 · 12/08/2015 18:04

second yep buy your normal size, I've only got one maternity wear item (New Look skinny jeans) which I just bought in my normal size and they fit (albeit a bit big Hmm) at 20 weeks.

honeysucklejasmine · 12/08/2015 19:16

Noisy cat is back!

In other news, will prob be offered speed awareness course if it was me, and I may have just bought a pushchair...

Toast85 · 12/08/2015 19:23

honey Glad your cat has returned! And good news about the speed awareness course, hope (if it was you) that you get offered that instead!

So, you know you're pregnant when...
... You suddenly burst into tears and the only possible reason why is that you thought it was time for dinner and then realised you didn't really feel like eating.

And what is that all about? I've hit 30 weeks and my appetite is not what it was. It's like I want to eat and then start to sort food out and don't enjoy it/can't be arsed. It's like first tri all over again Hmm

jellypi3 · 12/08/2015 19:24

Wow purchases already honey!!!

honeysucklejasmine · 12/08/2015 19:33

Well it was a saving of £245 compared to what we thought it would cost... Can't say no!

And hey, if need be after the scan, we'll return it! Confused

jellypi3 · 12/08/2015 19:47

You won't need to. I'm sticking kicking Myself for not getting the nursery set, a saving of almost 900 quid. Grr!

In other news we accepted an offer today. Looks like I'm Moving!

Toast85 · 12/08/2015 19:58

Hooray jelly!! So you can still get the perfect place you found a little while ago then? (Bungalow with upstairs, yeah?)

pretzelpieces · 12/08/2015 20:07

Carrot well done and good luck for tomorrow!
Ga hope you're feeling less stressed, glad everything is going okay.
honey glad noisy cat is back!
rhi happy belated birthday!
pud please describe your pillow fort arrangements in more detail Smile
jelly hooray for moving!

Had a bit of a stressful day full of appointments today. Midwife was concerned about breathlessness/chest pains/migraines with sensitivity to light/back pains and stuff so I had to have an emergency GP appointment. I had occupational therapy at the hospital in between though and I was on foot! So I've been running around all day. GP did peak flow, listened to my chest and stuff and says I'm okay but tell her if palpitations/breathlessness get worse. Am being referred to obstetric physiotherapist for my back.

There was protein in my wee again and the midwife forgot she needs to send it off so they threw it away and then they were looking in their bin full of wee samples for it Shock but they didn't know which one was mine! So I've got to do another next week and drop it into the surgery.

I got to hear minipretzel's heartbeat again, which was nice.

Today I am having a two person microwave cauliflower cheese for my dinner. I'm sure the midwife would approve. Hmm
