Maybe this will really be the last one... until the postnatal one.

judemum your poor little fella. Loads of calamine lotion and tape some mittens to his hands so he can't scratch. I've still got a mark from where I scratched when I had them aged 5 - aeons ago!

judemum · 24/11/2006 14:22

yes- got large bottle of calamine this morning from Boots, along with my TEns machine!!

dublindee · 24/11/2006 15:24

awh give him a cuddle from me poor little mite.

BaileysMilkshake · 24/11/2006 15:42

JM, sending hugs to your little one, and thoughts of Milkybar buttons (()).

Mine is hysterical at the moment because the Peppa Pig playsets I just bought with the last of my vouchers from work (for baby ) are to be blunt....crap! Peppa and George refuse to stay on thier bikes and Daddy Pig wont stand up at all. Have just e-mailed Character Customer Service to complain - how do you make a 3 year old understand?? So have dug out some little people cars and she is happily pushing the round in those. She does a great impression of George though 'Dinosaur rrrrr'

As for cooking I have made soups and froze them. Then once baby has arrived I will be sending DH in to town with DD regularly so we can enjoy it with crusty bread from the bakers!

Talking of food, I pleaded with DH that I have been home for two weeks now with nothing but MW and dental visits to look forward to - which is why he took us out and we had McDonalds -yum! I have been craving a BigMac for weeks. Also got a tin of formula just n case BF doesnt work (or I can't resist the Baileys ). And finished the Christmas shopping

Olihan · 24/11/2006 15:54

I'm glad it's not just me with the crappy hospital and doctors. ELM, what a nightmare you've had. I really hope they'll let your little one hang on long enough to go to the local hospital. Are they sure it will need NICU? I suppose at 34 weeks they want to be safe rather than sorry but still, it's not very helpful for you, is it? Have a ((hug)), we'll all be keeping our fingers crossed that baby will be able to stay put for a while longer.

JM, poor ds, at least the chickenpox will be out of the way before baby arrives though!

DDee, your day sounds the same as mine really. I've got a list of jobs that covers 2 sides of A4 which all need doing before dc3 arrives and I've managed to tick off 2 this week [sheepish emoticon]. The lure of MN is too strong and my nesting instinct hasn't kicked in yet! I do get odd twinges of guilt when I read what everyone else on here has achieved but they don't last long!

VM, did you see the thread yesterday about how alcohol enhances your let down because it makes you more relaxed? I'm thinking Bailey's ought to be available on prescription for Christmas postnatal mums.

BaileysMilkshake · 24/11/2006 16:00

Well Baileys is creamy - should that not help milk production?? Failing Baileys I would be happy with Dooley's

I have taken the fact we can't use the taps today until 6pm as an excuse to actually not do any housework, other than the washing up I did at 7am. Tomorrow however - rest assured I will be baking and cooking and doing laundry from dawn till dusk - at which point DH will take DD to see the Christmas lights go on in town and I can watch Strictly in peace

Olihan · 24/11/2006 16:03

Oh god, Dooleys, now there's a drink I haven't touched for a good few years. Got very very drunk on it one New Year's Eve (drinking games involving downing shots of it - not clever) and haven't been able to face it since.

Now Amarula, that's a nice change from Baileys.

Def agree that it would help milk production too .

BaileysMilkshake · 24/11/2006 16:07

Whats the similar stuff in the blue bottle - quite new I think, and perhaps choclately. having been pregnant on and off for the best part of 2 years I have forgotten what some stuff is even called.

My last Christmas with mum she treated me to a fab white choc liquer....mmm drooling at the very thought. But can't have a drink before bump arrives, I have been begging DH for the weakest shandy for months - all to be met with a firm 'no aldohol'

spinasnowflake · 24/11/2006 16:10

Thinking of you Eli. Sorry I didn't get to send good wishes while you were still on line.

Oilhan. Sorry about your crap appointment. I'm exactly like you. I CANNOT bear the thought of still being pg on 7th Dec.

Magnolia,Excellant that you've been brought forward!

I've been out to buy some newbie sleepsuits and vests because even if LO is late(bOOO!) or even on time the 0-3 mth ones that DS1 had will be a bit too loose on him.(I'm predicting a 9 pounder,no that anyone has bothered to tell me how I'm looking bump-to-dates wise!) I'll have to ask on Monday(36 week appointment) My BHs are calming down and part of me is a bit disappointed. At least they were giving me hope of early labour.
Must do some Homepathic shopping.

Sorry girls,as I was reading through there were loads of people I was going to reply to, but I've gone blank.

I'm so of the babies on the way!

magnolia1 · 24/11/2006 17:29

Wow, Eli and Lucy will both be cuddling their babies
I am exhausted I waork for Age concern as a home help and did my last morning today but blimey it was knackering!!

Will write more later when dinner is done!

castlesintheair · 24/11/2006 17:34

Blimey Magnolia, can't believe you are managing to clean for other people at the moment, let alone your own home!

Also wondering how Eli & Lucy are getting on.

My DM made me laugh today (a rare event) when she said "treat your c-section and 4 day stay in hospital like a mini-break". Yeah right I kind of know what she means though, once I get home all hell will break loose: babies start playing up after 4 days don't they (funny that ) and 2 DCs to look after ...

castlesintheair · 24/11/2006 17:35

Just realised you said "home help". Sorry, can't even read properly these days

Olihan · 24/11/2006 19:38

Spina, if you go into labour before me I swear I will flounce off this thread . We will have to be there together at the bitter end having spent every penny on DIY induction methods!!

Where is Mr Elibean btw? I can't stand all the waiting!

Mr E, we need to know name, weight, hair colour, (baby's obviously, not yours!) time of delivery and how Elibean is doing. Thank you .

BaileysMilkshake · 24/11/2006 19:47

Evening All,

well, after complaining I underfed him yesterday as my rissotto was a disaster I made up for it with DH tonight and supplied his fav fried aggs, chips and sausage and let my healthy eating go out the window....what did he do..... he left half of it claiming I had cooked too much.
It's not like I did'nt ask how many eggs (2) and sausages (3) he wanted!!
Me on the other hand thoroughly enjoyed my scotch egg and slice of bread and butter!

Back to cooking soups and baking tomorrow! And thank Heaven for Tesco who delivered the shopping which include my nice jammy teacakes!

spinasnowflake · 24/11/2006 20:48

Fair enough,Olihan !

I made babypowders choccy pud,but I overnuked it, so I'll just have to keep practising!

Got my last haircut and night out tommorrow before bub gets here! Just hope my hair do is still fresh in the new baby photos IYKWIM!!!

Really feel like LO is not planning an appearance anytime soon after a week of anticipation!

northernmama · 24/11/2006 21:04

New to the board and 36 weeks along! Due on the 23rd of Dec. and not looking forward to the last few weeks...ready now even if my MUB is not! Also have 2 little ones at home already so there's no rest...ever!

annaspanner · 24/11/2006 21:17

Text from Lucy:
It's a boy 4.4kg @ 2pm 2day by csection.

4.4kg=9.7 pounds!

spinasnowflake · 24/11/2006 21:22

castlesintheair · 24/11/2006 21:40

Hooray! Congratulations to Lucy & her baby boy

annaspanner · 24/11/2006 21:48

Well, I'm hoping it was from Lucy-there wasn't a name and the only other person I know who would send me a text with that news is just 6 months pregnant! and 4.4 kilos!

Olihan · 24/11/2006 22:31

Aw, congratulations, Lucy, on your little boy .

Olihan · 24/11/2006 22:32

Hello, northernmama, there's a few of us here on #3 so you're in good company.

weirdbird · 24/11/2006 23:00

Woohoo well done Lucy

Congratulations

northernmama · 25/11/2006 05:41

Olihan - there is serious timelapse here as I am across the ocean from the rest of you.... forry about that. Since I hardly rest though, I can be online damn near anytime! I'm glad to hear there's more than just me on #3... I'm the only one of all the mums I know here at home, so feeling a little out of my element. I have never felt so tired in all my life I don't think. Has that been yours or anyone elses experience. It's not nice... I feel.... old and icky an awful lot.
